3rd Party SAN Device

I have a new XServer running OS X 10.4.8. It has two FC cards. I have a 3rd Party SAN device in the same rack. I configured a 3.9TB array\Logical drive and presented it to the Mac. When I open the Disk utility, I see only a 2TB drive. What can or do I need to do so that OS X sees then entire array?

Thank you for the response. I guess that is the question I am asking. I do not know who or what component is in play here. I have 1 array that is 3.9 TB. I created a single 3.9TB logical drive on the array and presented it to the HBA connected to the MAC. At this point, isn't a drive a drive? Is this an OS X issue? The SAN is from Gateway but is made by Hitachi.

  • 3rd party sip device music on hold not working.

When creating that COP file, I added the music on hold feature, meaning Music on hold is supported. After the customer installed the COP file into CUCM, created the new device, and configured MOH to play Cisco's sample audio, the MOH does not work. All other features work including Enhanced Message Waiting Indicator, Call Waiting, and Shared Line Appearance.
When they create a new device in CUCM they follow these steps:
    1. Device > Phones
    2. Add New
    3. Select MH iOS (this is the 3rd party device that has been installed on CUCM via the COP file)
    4. Select Next
    5. Fill out the fields
    6. Select Save and Apply Config
Please provide the solution or input why it is not working.

  • 3rd party IPS fail open device

    HI all,
I am looking out for a 3rd party hardware device for IPS 4240 hardware fail open in case if my IPS unit has any hardware problems.
Please suggest me on different model no/make for any 3rd party devices.
    Thanks
    pratik

    Hi Pratik,
I am not aware of any.
However,  Cisco IPS 4260 and IPS 4270-20 support the 4-port GigabitEthernet card (part number IPS-4GE-BP-INT=) with hardware bypass.
This 4GE bypass interface card supports hardware bypass.

  • ISE iPEP + 3rd party device VPN bridge or route mode

    Dear All,
I would like to get some advice from the community regarding my idea.
We would like to integrate ISE iPEP with a 3rd party VPN device using bridge mode.
However i can only find documents describing the following scenarios,
    - routed mode with VPN device
    - bridge mode with Wireless Controller
So the questions is that is bridge mode supported if i would like to integrate ISE iPEP with a 3rd party VPN device or is it even possible to achive this kind of deployment?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Erik Molnar

Thanks for the reply Marcin.  Both of your suggestions are good ones, however in this scenario both DC firewalls are alive at the same time, so there needs to be some kind of logic on the device at the remote site to say that it should only use tunnel B if tunnel A is down.
Thinking on this, is it possible to run an 'interface' or 'routed' mode IPSEC VPN with the ASA?  I know this is possible with the Fortigates and think it's the default mode for Junipers.  If that were possible we might be able to have both tunnels up and have OSPF run over them which would be another way to solve this problem.

  • 3rd party device support

    Hi,
Is there going to be any change in the way MARS would support 3rd party devices (non-cisco) like checkpoint, Intrushield etc in future?
    Thanks in advance,
    Valsa Raj

    1. Discovery supports many non-CDP modules such as ping sweeps, ARP cache lookups, and routing table lookups.  However, Topology Services still requires CDP to build interconnections between devices.
    2. Yes, non-Cisco devices will show up on the Topology Map with a generic icon.
    3. There is no restriction except it has a maximum of 50 devices.
    4. The Fault component of LMS 4.0 can integrate with HPOV NNM.

  • Enabling iPod Touch to be a storage device - optimal 3rd party application

The ONLY disappointment I have had with my beloved iPod Touch 32 is that it is the ONLY iPod not recognised by Windows or Mac OS as a storage device!!
In fact I only chose the 32GB version for that expected benefit - my dealer was shocked when I discovered this stupid limitation and offered to give me my money back!
I understand there are a couple of 3rd party applications that enable the Touch to be recognised as a storage device (to do daily file backups).
Has anyone had any experience with any of these apps? Which is optimal (simple, reliable and unlikely to cause software conflicts that mess up the reliability of the Touch?)
I am running firmware version 3.0 (happily).
    Thanks for your time,
    Simon.

It is ridiculous that the iPod Touch cannot mount as a device enabling use of free space for data storage. 3rd party apps are now addressing this limitation.

  • Use of files dowloaded from i-tunes store on Roku (3rd party device)

    Hello,
I have a Roku soundbridge system which play my music from my Mac compute r(via wifi). Unfortunaley it does not succeed to play the files bought on i-tunes store as it says they are protected. How can i take out the protection or have it read by my system. On roku site, i only find "apple does not allow streaming of files downloaded from their music store to 3rd party device." Is there any solution for me to listen to the albums i have bought on my system??? thks for your help

Sorry, but as Roku's web site says, no third-party devices can play tracks purchased from the iTunes Store. Tracks from the iTunes Store can only be played in iTunes or QuickTime Player or on an iPod, Apple TV, iPhone or iTunes-equipped Motorola cell phone.

  • PI2.1 3rd Party devices

    Hi,
I have recently installed a HA pair of PI2.1 NCS appliances and so far so good.
I have a number of 3rd party device that I would like to add.
I have uploaded the specific MIB's for these devices and created Custom SNMP templates to use to monitor them. These templates have been deployed via "Monitoring Deployment" on the 3rd party devices.
The question I have is where can I now see the detail that PI is retrieving when it SNMP polls these 3rd party devices using the custom template.
I would have thought it would be visible in the Device Work Centre when you click on a device, like it is with the Cisco ones but nothing else is showing except for the usual IP address, product family etc  information.
    Any ideas ?
    cheers
    Rich

Changing the local ssh client to v2,1 doesnt work.
    You need to change /etc/ssh/ssh_config
    # Protocol 2,1
    >>> comment out
not the sshd_config, this will change the SSH-access to the PI-server self.
In our case we extended the vty input to telnet for the few older ssh1 only image devices

  • 3rd Party Z-wave devices

Has anyone bought the GE z-wave light switch from a a vedor such as Home Depot or Smarthome. I want to know if the unit still has the ability to dim. Verizon support said all they can guarantee with 3rd party purchases is on/off. Thanks in advance.
    - Derek

Verizon is NOT an open Z wave platform.
Verizon dosen't support all Zwave devices. I paired a Yale Real Living Z wave lockset to the VHM, but when I went to the "settings" after the gateway enrolled it into my system through Add Device, the Verizon page said even through it was in my VHM, that Verizon "Dosent Support This Product". I guess they want to close thie system to other devices so they can only sell the Schlage locksets. What I like about the Yale product is that the deadbolt is motorized, so it will retract and extend the deadbolt on demand / on schedule / on trigger.

I want to sync my 3rd party email to  all of my MACs.  If i delete an email on one device i would like it to delete on all the others. Anyone have any luck.  Maybe icloud?  How do i switch it for exsiting emails on Apple mail. thanks!

I was also wondering why iCloud doesn't delete e mail across all devices when I delete it on one device.
It does, provided it is an iCloud email account (which is an IMAP account).  Email from non-iCloud email accounts such as Comcast, etc. is entirely separate and is not managed in any way by iCloud.
    sjc47 wrote:
I am also confused by the discussion that POP accounts don't sync using iCloud as I have been using my Comcast POP account as well as several other POP e mail accounts and I receive e mails from all these accounts across all my devices without issue (Mac Mini, MacBookPro 13, iPhone5).
As mentioned, your non-iCloud POP accounts are entirely separate email accounts and are not managed by iCloud.  You are receiving email from your POP accounts on all your devices because you have the accounts set up on all your devices; but the email is being sent from your other email providers such as Comcast, not by iCloud.
    sjc47 wrote:
When you say POP accounts don't sync are you all referring to the deleting of e mails which was one of the subjects of the original post or is it something else I'm missing?
Unlike IMAP accounts, POP/POP3 accounts only deliver email to your devices.  Any subsequent changes that you make an email on any of your devices such as deleting a message, marking it as read, etc., will not be synced to your other devices.  This will give you a little more information on the difference: http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2008/05/getting-gmail-anywhere-imap-versus-pop.htm l.

  • Airplay no longer working with 3rd party after upgrading to Maverick.

I updated my MacBook Pro this week and I have noticed that the airplay icon is no longer showing up in iTunes to connect to my Denon Amplifier. The interesting thing is that my old iPad 1 that I have that is still running 5.1.1 can connect and play to the receiver just fine.
Was there an update to the airplay software that would affect 3rd party devices? I was not able to find any new updates for my receiver.

I woke up this morning with the same problem (all was fine last night).  Only way to get all my mailbox folders back was to use Time Machine while in Mail, choosing the backup file from previous night and selecting EACH MAILBOX to restore (23 for me).  All appears okay so far today (except some of my accessories in the menu bar are gone).
I sure hope an update comes SOON.  In anticipation of Mavericks and the new MAIL I switched from Outlook 2011 3 weeks ago transfering 17,000+ files and would hate to back

  • How can I restore 3rd party app data from my backup in the cloud

First a brief history. I use the iCloud to backup my iPad 2 and hardly ever synch it to itunes on my computer. I got the new iPad and restored the backup of my iPad 2 onto it.  All was fine except that an issue I had on my iPad 2's Safari had transferred over to my new iPad. That's is for another discussion. Anyhow I went to the genius bar and they said to just setup my new iPad as a new device and then manually install everything back on it. Stuff like mail, contacts, etc, would be reloaded from the cloud. So I did and I noticed that one of my 3rd party apps, MadPad, had none of my saved data. Does anyone know of a way to restore 3rd party app data from the iCloud? Is there some sort of utility out there that would do this?  I don't want to restore it from my previous iPad 2 backup because it will reintroduce the Safari problem back onto my new iPad.
    Thanks!

Assuming that you even have a backup with the data in it, you have no choice but to use a backup in order to restore that data. That is the idea behind backing up to iCloud. If that is the only backup that you have - then that is the one that you have to use.
But if the backup is bad - or had corrupt data - then you will end up with the corrupt data again. You cannot selectively restore app data from a backup. you restore all settings and data - or nothing at all.

  • Can I move an iTunes library from Comp1 to Comp2 through Home Sharing?  What happens with the first sync?  What happens to 3rd party app data (specifically, game scores/levels)?

I need to move an iTunes library from Computer 1 to Computer 2.  Can I do this through Home Sharing, by dragging and dropping library items from one to the other?  The library consists of iTunes purchases, home shared items and music/movies from our personal collection.  Both computers have had all the accounts authorized, so I don't anticipate an issue there.  I'd like to do this so that my son's ipod is impacted as little as possible -- specifically, his game scores/levels and other 3rd party data remain intact after the 1st sync and the organization of his icons remain intact.
Is there a way to do this smoothly and easily, protecting his ipod data/organization?

Sorry, I obviously wasn't clear. If you replicate the library from Computer 1 to Computer 2 by copying it, then all will be well. I routinely sync my iPhone and iPad both at home and at work using a single library that I migrate between the two locations via an external drive which is kept up do date using SyncToy.
Backup the iPod touch on Computer 1.
Copy the entire iTunes folder from Computer 1 to Computer 2, replacing any existing iTunes folder on Computer 2.
Check that content is accessible in the migrated library. (Won't be a problem for a standard iTunes library where all the content is inside the iTunes Media folder which in turn is inside your iTunes folder).
Connect iPod touch to Computer 2.
    Sync.
In the unlikely event that something goes wrong (it won't) then you can connect the device back to Computer 1 to restore it.
Note device backups are not stored within the iTunes library and stay on the machine on which they were created. It is theorectically possible to migrate them but there isn't really any point. Once you have synced the iPod with the copy of the library on Computer 2 then Computer 2 will make its own backup of the device.

  • IMac USB no longer recognizing 3rd party phones (BlackBerry, Android, or Symbian).

Hey everyone, this is my first post to this community support group.
Last week, using my iMac, I attempted to install the Ubuntu OS onto my Nexus 7.
I followed some online guides on how to do so, and realized that I was not up to the task.  The process involved various things, although the one I suspect created my current problem was inputing Terminal commands (unfortunately, I can not recall the commands I entered).
Not only was I unable to install the Ubuntu OS on my Nexus 7, but now my iMac does not recognize any 3rd party phones (Android, BlackBerry and Symbinan) that are plugged into the USB ports.  Prior to this Ubuntu attempt, my iMac recognized all phones plugged into it's USB ports.
    A few things:
    1) The USB Device Tree in System Information lists several connected USB devices (iPhone, Printer, External Drives, Etc), but will not display 3rd party phones.
    2) The Disk Utility does recognize any phones as hard drives, when they are plugged in via usb.
    3) I've tried using the phones' interfaces to switch them from USB mass storage, to camera, to charge settings when plugged into the iMac with no effect.
    4) I've tried plugging the 3rd party phones in different USB ports with no results either.
Thank you for any help and guidance you guys might offer!
    Jeff

Try doing both a iMac SMC and PRAM reset, it may take several attemps for it to work.
