3rd Party sync ca

Before my Zen Vision:M died, i ordered some stuff from eBay for it.
Such as a case etc.
One of the things I ordered came today. A sync cable so I wouldn't have to carry the the little sync adapter everywhere (and probably loose it).
But since my Zen died after I plugged it into my computer using the real cable, i am scared of using it when my Zen comes back from being repaired.
And this doesn't include the fact that the warranty is void if you use a cable with it that doesn't have a creative serial number on it:
8. The limited warranty does not apply to:
... Counterfeit products or any accompanying products not bearing a Creative serial number provided with the Product, ...
http://asia.creative.com/support/warranty/warranty.asp
Section 8.4
Is creative going to make a sync cable that doesn't need the dongle? (Like those _other_ MP3 players that also do video? They may have a dock port thing on the bottom, but they don't need an adapter to plug it into the computer.)
Has anyone got a sync cable, did it work OK?
Cheers

You're probably right. I guess I was just hoping some Apple insiders might frequent here and 1) offer an explanation - doesn't help, but satisfies my curiosity and/or 2) offer a 'wait until summer update' kind of response (that's just me being reeeally optimistic.)
When the iPhone debuted without cut/copy n paste, they were bludgeoned in forums and the press for two years until they finally added it. I haven't seen the same fervor for this feature. Am I alone? Take the "Awesome Note" app - looks as good as its name implies. Without sync'ing to iCal / Stickies, etc., nearly worthless, to me anyway. What a shame... and it's not the developer's fault.

  • 3rd party syncing for Z10

I have a quick question for the community. My company has two email addresses. The first one has no capabilities of wireless syncing of emails, contacts etc. with my desktop Outlook. The other has the capabilities with an added plugin that would sync emails, contacts etc. wirelessly  which the company does not believe is necessary. The email syncing would be great for whenever I send an email from the device I have to cc myself to have a copy on my desktop. Currently I use BB Link to sync contacts and calendar as well as Microsoft connector that I installed many months ago for BB Link did not work.
My question to the community is have you heard of a service called Link2theCloud? Will this give me true wireless syncing and show my emails on my pc and on the phone went sent from each device.
I am not a tech person and hope someone can help.
    Thank you,

  • 3rd party software? display?

    Anyone know:
Of any 3rd party soln's for syncing  that have been less troublesome than others?
Or when viewing the contacts and memos on the Pre Plus, will the display look similar?  Or can I get a product that looks like the classic Palm display?
I have a Palm TX which I use with the Palm Desktop, used mainly for contacts (close to 900 entries) and extensive notes, a lot of Memos.  I also have Documents to Go which I believe I'd have to seriously upgrade for the Pre plus.
I am a little nervous about choosing one software or another. I've had the Pre for only 5 days and don't really want to screw up going forward.
    Thanks for your, Colleen

    Hello and welcome to the forums;
If you're concerned about your Notes and Tasks appearing as they do with your T|X, you may want to look at the Classic App from MotionApps. It's available in the App catalog, and there is a free trial. It is a PalmOS emulator, which looks remarkably similar to the way your T|X screen looks.
The built-in Tasks and Memos apps do not look like you're used to, they are quite different. Docs2Go is currently only available as a viewer, and the company has not issued a release timeframe for webOS.
As for which 3rd party sync solution is best for you, I can't recommend one, but both Chapura and CompanionLink offer free trials.
    Hope this helps,

  • Can I move an iTunes library from Comp1 to Comp2 through Home Sharing?  What happens with the first sync?  What happens to 3rd party app data (specifically, game scores/levels)?

I need to move an iTunes library from Computer 1 to Computer 2.  Can I do this through Home Sharing, by dragging and dropping library items from one to the other?  The library consists of iTunes purchases, home shared items and music/movies from our personal collection.  Both computers have had all the accounts authorized, so I don't anticipate an issue there.  I'd like to do this so that my son's ipod is impacted as little as possible -- specifically, his game scores/levels and other 3rd party data remain intact after the 1st sync and the organization of his icons remain intact.
Is there a way to do this smoothly and easily, protecting his ipod data/organization?

Sorry, I obviously wasn't clear. If you replicate the library from Computer 1 to Computer 2 by copying it, then all will be well. I routinely sync my iPhone and iPad both at home and at work using a single library that I migrate between the two locations via an external drive which is kept up do date using SyncToy.
Backup the iPod touch on Computer 1.
Copy the entire iTunes folder from Computer 1 to Computer 2, replacing any existing iTunes folder on Computer 2.
Check that content is accessible in the migrated library. (Won't be a problem for a standard iTunes library where all the content is inside the iTunes Media folder which in turn is inside your iTunes folder).
Connect iPod touch to Computer 2.
    Sync.
In the unlikely event that something goes wrong (it won't) then you can connect the device back to Computer 1 to restore it.
Note device backups are not stored within the iTunes library and stay on the machine on which they were created. It is theorectically possible to migrate them but there isn't really any point. Once you have synced the iPod with the copy of the library on Computer 2 then Computer 2 will make its own backup of the device.

  • USB Sync with 3rd party Software

Seem like Verizon is determined to press using it's restrictive syncing technique with MS Outlook.  I guess they still want to compete with Outlook.  There is an issue with USB sync with the Droid X.
Android OS 2.2 supports TETHERING, but Version does not.  By allowing tethering, 3rd party software can sync with the Droid X via USB.
Why is Verizon restricting a feature so many business users want?  To compete with Apple, Verizon should wise up and support its user communit to allow easy syncs with Outlook (Contacts, Notes, Calendar) at the subdirectory level.  Business people will not post their sensitive information on the Google site in order to sync with their phone.
Wise up Verizon!  You are missing an opportunity in your battle with Apple!

    Hi Nitsan
You need to contact Oracle to see if they can help you. Supporting a Discoverer installation without a support number (CSI Number) is not the right thing to do. You need to pay up and buy the necessary support so that you can get the help you need.
Having said that, Oracle do produce lists of certified operating systems and platforms etc and you will not have a lot of luck if you go outside those boundaries. I'm not saying that you have but usually if their product works on one platform but not on another it is usually something at the platform end that is causing the problem. In this case the first place I would look is to see whether there are any settings within the 3rd party security software that can be applied to tell it that anyone running Discoverer inside IE is allowed to do so.
It may be as simple as allowing JInitiator to work. You may also want to try using the Sun JRE instead to see if that helps.
I strongly recommend you buy a support license. You can buy these relatively cheaply and they can be purchased in groups of I believe 25 requests (could be a different number) thus keeping the cost down. If you yourself are an independent consultant you can buy your own support license and use that to get help for your clients.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • 3rd party application sync failures -- BES policy?

I have a BB curve (8310, ATT v4.2.2.170) which is synch'd via BES to corporat email/etall.   I have the BB desktop manager installed on a PC.  The BBDM can: install & remove applications, add/remove multimedia (songs, photos), access the storage card.    When tryign to use the BBDM to synchronize 3rd party application data (aka,  a password keeper like SplashID or Ascendo Data vault), the syncronization fails.   I did install BBDM to use the internet service, not redirector.
My question:   are their policies which my IT group might have set that prevent the synch of 3rd party data.  We tried changing the "allow 3rd party to use USB" to true, that did not help.    If the security policy forces data encryption on the device, could that prevent the sync from happening?       The desktop all looks correct (right BB id, etall), and the app on the BB think's its been synchd, but the data never moves between the two and I get error messages akin to "Synchronization Failed; Please try again. Technical details: tableSystem=NULL"  (this from SplashId).
    Thanks

  • 3rd party software to sync notes for iPod touch?

Does anyone know of a 3rd party software that will sync notes for the iPod touch? I've done a search and can't find anything. There is one called iNote but that isn't for the touch.
    Thanks

iNote works fine on the iPod touch. What makes you think it doesn't?

  • Importing song ratings without auto-sync or 3rd party software

My iPod Classic contains all my Mac iTunes' library (approx 150GB), and they auto-sync, so ratings, play counts etc are sync'ed seamlessly.
I manage my iPod nano and iPhone manually since their respective capacities are too small for my library.
How do I import song ratings etc back into iTunes without 3rd party software or creating playlists (dedicated to the nano and the phone) and auto-syncing just those playlists?
    Many thanks!

Hey! By mistake I found the solution to my exact question i.e. how to have ratings etc synced automatically without the use of playlists or 3rd parties. (Meg's answer actually convinced me to use dedicated playlists, but then, after toying with the devices and iTunes I stumbled on the solution to my original dilemma, which I've seen discussed in many places but not yet answered)
    So here it is:
when you connect the device (nano multi-touch or iphone 4, don't know about others) to iTunes, while having "Manually manage music" disabled (with "Enable disk use" enabled or disabled, it doesn't matter), go to Music tab, check "Sync Music", choose "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres" and that's it. You don't check any actual playlists, artists etc below, you can drag from iTunes and drop your chosen music to the device, play it, rate it, connect to iTunes and sync and you'll see the rating and play counts updated. Simple as that.
Thank you Meg, your answer is actually the best, I guess, since having the dedicated playlists tends to keep things more in order, but - thank you Apple! - you don't always need to be perfectly organized in order to have an up-to-date rating.

I want to sync my 3rd party email to  all of my MACs.  If i delete an email on one device i would like it to delete on all the others. Anyone have any luck.  Maybe icloud?  How do i switch it for exsiting emails on Apple mail. thanks!

I was also wondering why iCloud doesn't delete e mail across all devices when I delete it on one device.
It does, provided it is an iCloud email account (which is an IMAP account).  Email from non-iCloud email accounts such as Comcast, etc. is entirely separate and is not managed in any way by iCloud.
    sjc47 wrote:
I am also confused by the discussion that POP accounts don't sync using iCloud as I have been using my Comcast POP account as well as several other POP e mail accounts and I receive e mails from all these accounts across all my devices without issue (Mac Mini, MacBookPro 13, iPhone5).
As mentioned, your non-iCloud POP accounts are entirely separate email accounts and are not managed by iCloud.  You are receiving email from your POP accounts on all your devices because you have the accounts set up on all your devices; but the email is being sent from your other email providers such as Comcast, not by iCloud.
    sjc47 wrote:
When you say POP accounts don't sync are you all referring to the deleting of e mails which was one of the subjects of the original post or is it something else I'm missing?
Unlike IMAP accounts, POP/POP3 accounts only deliver email to your devices.  Any subsequent changes that you make an email on any of your devices such as deleting a message, marking it as read, etc., will not be synced to your other devices.  This will give you a little more information on the difference: http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2008/05/getting-gmail-anywhere-imap-versus-pop.htm l.

  • ICal/Gcal sync - CalDAV didn't work, 3rd party app created duplicates?

I'm not yet using Snow Leopard.
I've been using iCal for some time as my primary calendar. I keep 3 calendars: Life, Work, and Dance, so events show in a different color depending on what they relate to.
I would like to sync these calendars into Gcal. I have only one master calendar there and don't really use it b/c I dislike the interface compared to iCal, but sometimes it would be useful to be able to check it on the fly. So what I want is to enter and edit events in iCal, that then sync to GCal - in other words, use iCal as the "home" calendar.
I set up CalDAV according to Google's instructions. This did... apparently nothing, but when I set up an event in GCal, it "pushed" it to iCal. However none of the iCal events "pushed" to Gcal.
So I went and downloaded Calgoo Connect (http://www.calgoo.com/). Followed their instructions.
I set up syncing between the 3 iCals, and the one Gcal. On the Gcal end, everything looked good - there seems to be no way to distinguish by color like there is on the iCal end, but at least all the events showed up.
On the iCal end, every single event in my calendar suddenly appeared in triplicate, with every event assigned to all three calendars (Life, Work, and Dance). Obviously... not what I was looking for. I have the "connector cleanup" feature turned on in Calgoo Connect which is supposed to prevent duplicates, but it did nothing - instead I spent 20 minutes manually cleaning up my future/recurring events, but everything in the past is now a mess, and I don't want this to happen in the future.
I posted asking for help in their forum but haven't had a reply. I wondered if anyone here had tried it, or knew of a way to make this work via CalDAV, or of another freeware/shareware app. I've seen people here mention Spanning Sync, but I'm reluctant to drop $65 on an application when I'm having such rough luck so far.
Why doesn't CalDAV work both ways? Why is this so difficult?

Anybody willing to help me figure this out? I keep getting conflicting info about CalDAV - that it's one-way only, that it's two-way - and am getting no help choosing a third-party syncing app if that's what it comes down to.

  • I recently purchased a 4S. I now have 2 files in my iCloud both with my name. One from my 3gs and one from my 4S. The problem is the data history of all my games and 3rd party apps did not transfer over to my 4S. Is there a way to merge the two in icloud?

I backed up my 3gs to the iCloud and when I synced my 4S, it did not transfer my game histories or my 3rd party app histories. When I look at my iCloud storage, it shows both phones under the same name. Is there a way to merge them together in iCloud? I tried adding the account to my 4S but since they are both named the same, it says I already have that account added! Help!!

Assuming you have finished with your old backup.....
You can see what your iCloud storage is used for and delete any unwanted content at settings > iCloud > backup & storage > manage......

  • Windows XP Pro doesn't recognise iPOD when in 3rd party Docking Station

Hi All. My iPOD is brand new. If I use the syncing cable that came with it, everything works fine. However If use the 'Logic3' docking station (uses a standard USB cable) or the 'Gear4' docking station (standard ipod cable connects to female socket in rear of dock)I experience the following problems:-
Logic3 - lots of disk light activity but iTunes locks up and the iPOD does NOT appear in iTUNES
Gear4 - lots of disk light activity, iPOD appears in iTunes but I get an error message suggesting iPOD is corrupted and I can't sync any tunes
If I try a different USB port it makes no difference. If I disconnect them and go back to using the simple iPOD syncing cable everything is fine.
It makes me think it must be an iPOD problem as neither 3rd party dockig stations work properly.
I've contacted each Manufacturer of the each Dock, but they can't offer any help apart from suggesting I should update my iTunes software. I had already made sure this was up-to-date
Anyone got any ideas on what might be the problem?
    Thanks
    Steve

I think it might be the other way around. If it works fine with the Apple cable, but there are problems with the third party one, then the problem seems to be with the 3rd party stuff, right?
I've only used speakers w/ a dock (not something that was also hooked up to the `puter) so I can't address your problem directly. There's been a lot of weirdness with the new iTunes, and since your iPod is new I'm thinking these manufacturers aren't up to speed on what changes have been made. Just a guess brother.
BTW, are the docking stations new? I googled "Logic3 docking station" and it came up discontinued.

    Pl. help

    Hi
I have done the things suggested by Caprin + Sanjeev Kumar. No help
Here is additional info. . As i am working on this issue i could replicate it in the quality server . I have found out how the issue was caused.
There is a inconsistency between PO delivery date & SO req delivery date. In 3rd party orders the Sch line date is derivied from Vendor info records. The user created SO & PO .The SO got its Sch line date from info record. Then the user manually changed the Requested del date on the SO beyond the sch line date derived from the info record & at the same time leaving the Del date on PO untouched. This has resulted in mismatch between the PO & SO at the same time weird looking sch lines on SO ( the order + rounded qty is on the later date whereas the confirmed qty on the 1st sch line ).
I feel if somebody can suggesta program to bring in sync the VBAP + VBEP + PO line item tables i think it will solve the issue
