3x looping gifs only loop 2x

I've created several animated gifs that loop 3 times. In Safari, they only loop 2 times. All other browser/platform combos I've tested loop the correct 3 times. What gives? Is this a bug in Safari? Any advice appreciated.

I see just what you mean - works fine in other browsers.
a recent nightly build of webkit ( a framework behind Safari ) shows the same problem - so no fix forthcoming from there yet.
I can only suggest letting the Webkit guys know, via a bug report ( though it may not be a webkit issue ) and also Apple, via Safari menu-Report Bugs to Apple, giving your demo page as an example.

Flash CC Publish Animated Gif ignores looping sequences?

I'm just learning Flash so apologies in advance.
I can't seem to get an animated gif that won't loop--I only want it to play once.
Here is what I'm doing, using Flash CC Pro (latest):
Create an .fla file, all set to go, looks good
Go to Publish Settings, target is set to Flash Player 11.8, unchecked everything but GIF Image
Inside there, playback is set to "animated"
Repeat times, set to 1
Smooth is checked.
Have tried adding an action script to one layer after researching that trick, doesn't seem to work. Animation does have symbols as movie clips inside it.
Any help is appreciated for this newbie, thanks!

One thing you may want to look at is the way your symbols are being triggered on the timeline. For example: you have an image of a ball bouncing, it goes down then up over the course of 30 frames and you are playing the FLA at 15 FPS so it takes a full two seconds per "bounce". If you are then putting that symbol into another timeline (probably the main timeline) you need to give the instance of that symbol the full 30 frames to go through the bounce before it stops, but if you give it 31 frames or forget to put a stop() command on the last frame, the sequence will repeat before clearing the stage.
I would look at how you have positioned the object that is being looped in the main timeline and remember that with each keyframe you add to the timeline the animation will restart from the beginning. Imagine the bouncing ball graphic is a video clip of a ball bouncing and not a collection of vectors being repositioned on the stage. Every time you have a keyframe on the symbol of the video on the main timeline, the video restarts and appears to loop. The same may be happening with your animation on the timeline.

How to render loop region only in Adobe Premiere Elements 10

I've been editing DV NTSC (29.97 frames/sec) video in Premiere Elements which is only 1:42 long. But every time I render it, it mysteriously becomes 2:57 minutes long. The extra minute's showing just a black screen and nothing else. I've been told that to solve this problem, I should turn on the loop button, and choose "render loop region only" in the Render menu. The problem is, I can't find either - the button and the render loop region only option. I've been searching and searching for answers and I can't find any. Please help me.

I had to look up "Loop Regions," but only found references to people, who hated them, and wanted to turn them off. What I could not find was what Loop Regions are. They appear to be a Sony "thing," as they are mentioned in Vegas and Sound Forge. What was missing, is "what is the use, and the result, of using Loop Regions?" For my education, could you, or the OP, explain what they do, and what they are used for?

Foreach Loop only looping once

Hi,
Please be patient and bear with me, for I am new to SSIS packages.
I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 to host the SQL Agent job and the SSIS package.
I am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition for designing the SSIS package. It is version 9.0.30729, Version 3.5 SP1.
I am on a Windows 8 machine.
My Foreach Loop Container seems to iterate only once when it should iterate numerous times, and this issue happens BOTH when I execute the SSIS package from within Visual Studio AND when I run a SQL Agent job to execute the SSIS package.
For the solution within Visual Studio, I have False for the property Run64BitRuntime.
In the SSIS pckg in Visual Studio, I have in the Variables pane a number of variables and these following variables pertain to my problem:
Name: objRs     Scope: the name of the SSIS package     DataType: Object    Value: System.Object
Name: txtVendorFamilyNumber   Scope: the name of the SSIS package DataType: String   Value: 111111
The value "111111" that I entered into the txtVendorFamilyNumber variable in the Variable Pane is NOT a realistic value as there are no vendor family numbers that have the value 111111. I will populate dynamically the real vendor family numbers
from within the SSIS package.
When I imported the SSIS package to SQL Server 2008 R2, via the ellipsis button for the Protection Level I chose the "Rely on server storage and roles for access control" choice.
Concerning the flow of the SSIS package, going down within Visual Studio from the beginning of the flow of the SSIS package, eventually I have an Execute SQL Task. In its General tab, it has "1252" for CodePage property, "Full result set"
for ResultSet property, "OLE DB" for ConnectionType property, "Direct input" for SQL Source Type property, "False" for BypassPrepare property, and the following for the SQLStatement property:
     select txtVendorFamilyNumber from tmpVendorFamily where VendorID = (select min(VendorID) from tmpVendorFamily)
In the tmpVendorFamily table on SQL Server 2008 R2, there are 379 rows of results for the SELECT statement above (starting with the values 100110, 100115, 100120, 100130, through the LAST row's value 106370.
In the Parameter Mapping tab of the Execute SQL Task Editor, I have nothing. In the Expressions tab of the Execute SQL Task Editor, I have nothing.
In the Result Set tab of the Execute SQL Task Editor, I have the value 0 for Result Name property and I have the value User::objRs as the value in the Variable Name property.
This Execute SQL Task has a green arrow (Constraint evaluation operation, Success in Value drop down) to the Foreach Loop Container.
In the Foreach Loop Editor, in the Collection tab, I have "Foreach ADO Enumerator" as the value in the Enumerator property. In the drop down for ADO Object Source Variable, I have chosen the User::objRs, and I have the radio button "Rows in
the first table" selected.
In the Foreach Loop Editor, in the Expressions tab, I have nothing.
In the Foreach Loop Editor, in the Variable Mappings tab, I have "User::txtVendorFamilyNumber" for the Variable property and I have the value "0" for the Index property.
So in the Foreach Loop, I first have a Script Task with the ReadOnly variable User::txtVendorFamilyNumber and with the ReadWrite variable User::TESTING_OnlyTesting that I created with a package scope, string datatype, and no default value. This Script Task
has the following code for testing purposes:

I have next in the Foreach Loop Container a Send Mail task. In the Expressions tab of the Send Mail Task Editor, I have for the Message Source property the following:
      @[User::TESTING_OnlyTesting]
The remaining tasks (including FTP Tasks) in the Foreach Loop Container are disabled for now as I am trying to figure out why the Foreach Loop only iterates the FIRST time, only iterates once.
When I run on SQL Server 2008 R2 the SELECT statement from the Execute SQL Task, I get 379 rows of results. The default value 111111 that I entered into the Variable Pane for the txtVendorFamilyNumber variable does NOT exist in any of these 379 rows of results.
The 1st row of results has for the txtVendorFamilyNumber column the value 100110. Then the subsequent rows of results have the values 100115, 100120, 100130, et cetera, ending with the value 106370 in the last row of results.
I imported the SSIS package into Integration Services on SQL Server 2008 R2. When I imported to Integration Services, in the Import Package editor for the Protection Level I chose the "Rely on server storage and roles for access control" choice
because there are FTP Tasks and we needed to use this "Rely on server storage and roles for access control" choice.
I created a SQL Agent job that executes this SSIS package.
When I run the SQL Agent job, no error happens and I get only ONE email with the value 100110 for the vendor family number in it. I should get 379 emails total, the 2nd email showing 100115, the 3rd email showing 100120, et cetera.
When I was testing while executing the SSIS package from within Visual Studio, I did NOT have the Send Mail task and I only had enabled one Script Task that had the ReadOnly variable User::txtVendorFamilyNumber and the following lines of code:
MsgBox(CType(Dts.Variables("User::txtVendorFamilyNumber").Value, String))
Dts.TaskResult = ScriptResults.Success
Executing the SSIS package with only this Script Task enabled within the Foreach Loop Container, I would get the ONE message box showing 100110 but I would not get any message box for a SECOND ITERATION of the loop.
Since my txtVendorFamilyNumber in the Variables Pane has the default hard-coded value 111111 that does NOT exist in the result set of the Execute SQL Task that feeds the Foreach Loop, and since the first and only email sent shows the value 100110 when I
run the SQL Agent job that runs the SSIS package that is set up to send an email from within the Foreach Loop Container, the FIRST LOOP seems to run correctly and shows correctly the 1st value 100110 in the 379 rows of results that populate the Foreach Loop
Container. Why does the Foreach Loop Container NOT loop more than once?
Could anybody give me any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

This morning I figured out my problem with the help of a fellow employee.
In my original post higher up, I had typed about the SELECT statement in the Execute SQL Task that is just before the Foreach Loop Container and that populates the User::objRs, and this SELECT statement was in the old DTS package in an old ActiveX script
task. The SELECT statement was in an old DTS package in an old ActiveX script task and I am creating a new SSIS package to replace the old DTS package so that we can move from the old version of SQL Server to a new SQL Server 2008 R2 server. Here is that
SELECT statement:
select txtVendorFamilyNumber from tmpVendorFamily where VendorID = (select min(VendorID) from tmpVendorFamily)
That SELECT statement above returns ONLY ONE result. I had not noticed it. That SELECT statement fills the objRs result set. The green arrow goes from the Execute SQL Task that has the SELECT statement down to the Foreach Loop Container that loops over the
result set. Since the SELECT statement that fills the result set only has one row of results, the Foreach Loop only looped once.
So for the Execute SQL Task that populates the result set User::objRs, I changed the SELECT statement to be the following:
--In the Utilities DB, this tmpVendorFamily table
--has only two columns named VendorID and txtVendorFamilyNumber.
SELECT DISTINCT txtVendorFamilyNumber
FROM Utilities.dbo.tmpVendorFamily
ORDER BY txtVendorFamilyNumber
Now the Foreach Loop will loop 379 times since the SELECT statement immediately above yields 379 rows of results.
So the Foreach Loop Container was fine. Its Collection tab has the "Foreach ADO Enumerator" for the Enumerator and has the "User::objRs" for the ADO Object Source Variable. Its Variable Mappings tab has "User::txtVendorFamilyNumber"
for the Variable and has "0" for the Index.

can individual loops within the song be changed to minor or seventh chords?

I don't know of any ready-made feature in Aperture that does it, but in the Loop Library many Loops are provided in multiple forms, so mostly you find them both as major and minor loops.
However, if you are using software instrument loops, you can edit them in the Loop editor: Switch the editor window to Piano Roll:
If you for example want to change a C-major Loop into a C-minor-Loop, just select all "E"-notes and drag them down to E-flat. Then do the same with all "B"-notes and drag them to B-flat.
If you want to turn a software Loop into a seventh-Chord, duplicate a note and move the copy to the seventh interval.
Then listen to your work, adjust the volume of the added notes and add the new loop to the Loop-library via
Edit > Add to Loop Library

Animated gif only plays one time??

An animated gif created in Photoshop and exported with 'loop forever' output only loops once on my home page. I have not resized, cropped it or added any effects but as it plays once Muse can't have rasterized it.
I am using adobe muse cc 7.1 build 329, OSX 10.9

Thanks, I just tried it directly in the browser and it works fine. When previewing in the finder window on my desktop it works fine as well.
I have had animated gifs working fine previously on the same muse site as a browser fill and as buttons.
Nothing has changed about the way I make the animation but these are some variables that have changed:
- update Operating System from OSX 10.8 to 10.9
- udate to current muse version
- switch from Godaddy - wordpress hosting to Adobe Business Catalyst
- upload via 'publish' within muse rather than via 'upload to FTP host' within muse.

Problem previewing loops in the loop browser in Logic 8

Loops are only audible when the sequencer is not playing.
When the sequencer is playing, the selected loop shows it's playing in the loop browser window, but I cannot hear it.
ANY ANSWERS?
NOTE:
All my outputs in logic (including the loop browse strip) are routed to SPDIF OUT as I have a DynAudio digital speaker system.

I have found if you wait long enough, you will hear the file begin to play. Sometimes the delay can several seconds. Not acceptable IMO.

Installed Jam Pack but see no new loops in Garageband loop browser. Why not?

I successfully installed Jam Pack but don't see new loops in Garageband loop browser. Is there some extra step I'm supposed to do? Before, I had about 57 Rock/Blues loops, and I still have just that. I had 14 instruments under All Drums, and guess what? Still only 14.
I know the install completed successfully - it said so, anyway.
Clues?

Have you filters set on the Loop Browser? Make sure the GarageBand Preference "Loops > Keyword Browsing > Filter for more relevant content" is off. Otherwise you will see a fraction of the available loops.
To see, if the JamPack has been installed, set the pop-up meu at the top of the Loop Browser to "Rhythm Section". Is that available?
Did you reindex your Loops after installing the Jam Pack? And did you restart the Mac? In Mt. Lion only restarting a Mac will ensure, that an application is not resumed from a cache, when you launch it again.Restarting the Mac will terminate GarageBand for sure.
If restarting the Mac does not make the JamPack Loops show, rebuild the Loop index. See: Rebuilding the Loop Index in GarageBand 6 or earlier - Apple Support

Adding loops to the loop browser.

I'm using mac os 10.4.11. I have placed all my loops on an external hard drive.
1) Are only apple loops allowed to be added or aiff loops in general as well?
2) when adding loops to the loop browser should one add an entire folder if they are in a folder or just the files within a folder? I added a folder of flutes but can not find flutes anywhere in the loop browser file list.
3) As I didn't want the loops within the jam pack voices, and rhythm section installer packages to be added to garageband I removed the loops folders from the packages, and dropped them onto the loop browser. When looking in the jam pack management it shows the rhythm section but not the voices. When I again attempted to drop the voices folder it said it was already there, although I still can't see it.
4) Once I understand how to do this correctly should I trash the loop browser apple loops index file and re-drop all the loops on the browser again to get everything cataloged correctly?

Smart form - loop inside a loop

Dear Techies,
I am new to smartforms. I have a query, in one of the code examples there is a context menu on the main window called "complex selection", but i dont find the same in my editor, what is the reason.
I want this because i have data in two internal tables. Different tables are generated from secondary depending on the entries in first table. how do i achieve this on the main window.
Similar to loop inside a loop, depending on my first table entries, all the entries belonging to that entry are to be put in table of second entry. i will have tables equal to the entries in first internal table. hope my question is clear.

While loop and for loop condition terminal

Hello friends,
I am using labview 8.6. The condition terminal of the while loop and conditional for loop is behaving in just the opposite way.
When i wire a true to the condition terminal of my loop, the while loop continues to run when I click on run. when I wire a FALSE, it stops.
Is there any setting change that I have to make it to get it work properly.
Please suggest on this.

Whatever you are seeing must be due to some corruption or folding error. It all works fine here.

Using the formating information in the Oracle Forms FAQ, it is always recommended that you put your code samples in the ... tags (use lower case "code") so your code is more readable.
Second, the use of all capital letters is concidered YELLING. I'm sure you did not intend to YELL at anyone, so please only use capital letters when they are needed, not for everything. :)
Third, what is your Forms Version? If you look at the *10 Commandments for the OTN Forums Member* you'll see that it is always best to give program version information. Depending on your Forms version, the subquery in your SQL statement may not be supported or it could simply be the Cursor For Loop construct [ FOR j IN ( SQL Statement)...] that is not supported. You may have to declare an explicit cursor and reference the explicit cursor in place of your SQL Statement.
Forth, your FOR LOOP doesn't do anything!
LOOPEND LOOP; There is nothing between LOOP and END LOOP. I am going to assume that this is intented and just a point of sanatizing your code because what happens in the loop is not relevant to the error.
ERROR 103.. This is a Forms internal PL/SQL error; meaning the Forms PL/SQL engine can not parse your code. Again, this is probably because the subquery or cursor FOR loop with (SQL Statement versus explicit cursor) is not supported by your Forms version.
Please, what is your Forms version and any other information that might be helpful.

Change a non-looping track to looping

I'm using STP 2.0.2
I also just started reading Apple Pro Training Series 'Soundtrack Pro' by Mary Plummer.
It seems my interface is not the same as what she shows in the book. Doesn't state what version STP it's referencing.
Questions and confusion so far are:
1. I can't find anywhere a way to change a non-looping track to looping. It's not in the clip drop-down or when I right-click the clip in the timeline.
2. I can't find the format button (it's not on the top tools bar next to the sample rate selector). I can only change beats/time-based from the Multitrack drop-down.

That book is from 2006. I'm sure it's version 1. You should update to v3 anyway. It's being more stable, especially under Snow Leopard.

While loop in for loop

i have a problem with the following:
it starts and doesnt end. only the first "m" and "b" gets inside the while loop. afer "=" there is false. Why is this while loop standing still?

FPGA - Synchronization between two loops with different loop rates.

I am trying to implement an Analog and Quadrature Decoder. Simply put, I have two loops: LOOP 1 with an Analog Input (AI) which is a slower loop rate. Another loop: LOOP 2 has a digital input (input) and counts the Quadrature counts. I understand that Analog conversion is slower, and as a result, LOOP 1 will have a slower higher tick rate. I want to pass the "counts" from LOOP 2 into LOOP1, so that I can synchronize the Analog Input with the number of quadrature counts. My issue at hand is: since LOOP 2 updates at a higher rate. Will the "counts" value that I pass/tunnel from LOOP 2 to LOOP 1 refresh at the LOOP 2's rate or at LOOP 1's rate.

The only way to pass values between two parallel loops is by some sort of global variable (global or locals are fine, as are shared variables although I wouldn't recommend that for FPGA if you don't want to go outside of the FPGA target at all). Don't tunnel anything between two independant loops as they won't be independant anymore.
The local variable will be updated at the rate the writing loop updates it, though your slower read loop will obviously not see every value. Note that the FPGA compiler will protect the local variable access in both loops in order to avoid race conditions. This protection is necessary but expensive in terms of runtime performance of each loop as well as FPGA gate usage.
