4.0.2 upgrade on 3GS and phone dead in five hours! Help!

I upgraded to 4.0.2 last night and brought my iPhone to work in standby mode. I have done this since the summer of '09 without any issues. Today, my phone was absolutely dead (wouldn't even turn on- no battery) by 1 p.m. It was a 100% charge at 8:30 a.m. this morning. What do I do?

I have had this done to me once on my OG iphone after a update...I hooked it up got an update after being fully chaged and went to complete black screen would not turn on or reseted...I tried hooking it back up with no results, which usually worked if black screen ever occured. Finally I had to play the waiting game let my battery completly drain and than plug it up than by magice it appeared on.

If you have problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.<br />
You may need to remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.

I just recieved my new iphone 3gs that I got thanks to my step dads upgrade, I now have a problem because I am trying to use it for my number but when I get to itunes to ativate it shows my step dads number. Please tell me how I can get around this. I tried putting my old sim in, I tried calling att and they said they would take care of the number situation but they did nothing about the number showing up wrong in itunes. Thanks

Same issue. I upgraded my daughter's phone, prior to ATT's announcement of its modified upgrade policy, thinking this well could happen but figuring, what the heck. I am not sure there is a way "around" this, since AT&T are entitled to make sure the terms of their purchase plan are respected, but if anyone has a way, would love to know it. Otherwise, I'll just wait a few days for the next one to show up.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Trasfering upgrade between iPad and phone

I just did this with no problem. Used available upgrade on my iPad account, Received phone by FedEx. I used the "Activate or Swtich Device" option on the web page in my account. I just activated the device on my phone line. iPad still works, and the new iPhone works. I never needed to activate it on the iPad line. I did not even transfer upgrade.
The iPad account now shows eligible for upgrade in 20 months, and the phone still has the original date for upgrade (in about 1 month).

Upgraded to IOS* and phone reverted to an old Apple ID

Hi all, I've just upgraded to IOS8 on my iPhone 5 and it's reverted to an old Apple ID that I no longer have the email for or the password. This means that I can't turn off Find My iPhone and access iCloud to delete the device and switch over the the new Apple ID.
This has also caused the password prompt to pop up every few seconds........ GRRR!
How can I shut the old Apple ID down and use the new one? Especially when the password prompt goes to an email address I no longer have access to?

Are you not just able to sign out and then sign in with your new details.

i guess this is because of the applications and files already in the memorycard.
why don't you try formating the card (after copying the data elsewhere, if you need it later) and switching on the phone with the formatted card.
if it works, you can install the applications one by one back again and figure out which application is causing the problem.
please let me know if this works.

Fail to update and phone dead

my computer shut down when i was updating my phone to ios7,
after i restart the computer, the itunes doesn't resopond, it just couldnt detect my phone...
now its stuck at the screen telling me to connect to itunes, what can i do?

UPDATE: I managed to get both uninstalled and they re-installed ok. They reported installing ok but required a patch and that failed. So back to the same issue, I cannot patch these two applications.

How did you upgrade to Yosemite? Did you make a clean install and wiped the drive? Or did you install on top of the current system? In what way have you lost the photos?
is the iPhoto Library missing? Or do you get an error message, when you try to open iPhoto? What error message exactly?
Have you already updated the iPhoto application? You need to update to iPhoto 9.6 for MacOS X 10.10. The earlier versions will not work.

I wanted privacy. I asked for and am paying for a unlisted phone number/service. I asked 3X and was promised that my information would be private. HOWEVER, I am getting SEVERAL calls a day from telemarketers and people I do not want to know my number.

Is your phone number a new number or exsisting? Did you ask for unlisted when you got the number or after you received it and had it for awhile? Reason I'm asking this is because there are several possible reasons why you are getting the calls.
