4.0 beta troubles

Hi,
i have just tried updating to 4.3 beta but i have had the 'We're unable to activation'. My phone is signed up to it but im unable to sign in to the developer portal, i have a copy of 3.2 just incase but how do i restore since there is no visible button to click restore.
Any help would mean alot,
thank you

Hope for your sake it works, but not a lot of confidence!
Edited,
If you didn't manage to download it in the first place you may solve it. Don't know if you are a developer but we are getting all the non dev's asking how to sort their problems.

    Hi,
For a better trouble shooting, I suggest you do as the followings:
You can recreate a new WCF Service for SharePoint to test whether it works.

  • Cannot install Photoshop CS4 from Design Standard Educational

I just purchased the educational version of Adobe CS4 Design Standard and had no problem installing everything but Photoshop CS4 (which is what I really need)!  It does not show up on the installation menu when I run startup, but it seems to be on the install DVD in a couple of .dmg packages. I currently have photshop elements 6 for Mac installed, and I previously had the Photoshop CS4 ext trial with LightRoom 2 installed, but removed them from my system once the trial was over. Why isn't Photoshop CS4 installing and how can I fix it? Do I need to reinstall the trial software and then try and activate the serial number? Is the install DVD disk bad?
I had a look through the forums here and don't seem to have any of the same issues.  I have three disks in the package, 1-Applications, 2-Content, and 3-Learning.
I can see the .dmg files for Photoshop on the 1-Applications disk, but am not sure if I expand them will they install Photoshop properly.  I managed to install InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat 9 with the assorted pieces without any problems, and still have about 100GB of space left on the drive.
I'm installing it on my MacBook Pro, with 250GB HD, and 4GB of RAM with the 512MB video card.  I previously ran the trial version on the machine without any issues, so I am assuming that there are no problems with the minimum requirements to run the software.  The one issue I am thinking that might be affecting it is that I do have Safari 4 on my machine...
    Any ideas?

That did the trick.  I think I removed the old trial version by just dragging it into the trash and not using the uninstall function.  Adobe customer service really sucks as well.  I submitted a ticket to them about this and they cancelled it as the registration for CS4 Design Standard wasn't listed in the drop down menu when sent it in, despite it being registered.  Obviously Customer Service people who can't read!!
Just goes to show that this forum is a better trouble-shooting environment!  The only funny thing with using the clean tool, is that I had to completely remove all programs installed with Design Standard and then re-install everything.  Very clunky.  They should get some more people from Apple to design the Adobe installation/uninstallation process...

  • Faster 2 TB external drive throughput?

Hi.  I'm a heavy user of Aperture, and am looking for ways to overcome system waits (spinning pinwheel) when using very large Libraries.  The system waits happen when making adjustments, loading containers, and always when emptying the Aperture Trash.
The Library in question is all up-to-date and has been recently repaired (I run "Repair Database" on all Libraries as part of regular maintenance).
    My System:
    MacBook Pro
    Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013
Processor  2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
    System Drive  APPLE SSD SD512E
For this discussion, let's say "very large" for Libraries means >500 GB and/or >250,000 Originals.  These large Libraries can have millions of files in them.  (I've seen Libraries with almost 9 M files.)
Because of their size, I keep these Libraries on external drives.  Due to cost, I put these on USB-3 drives.  (I do have two powered USB-3 hubs.  I have tested using no hubs, and found no difference.)
I am running Aperture 3.5.1 on 10.9.3.  Smaller Libraries, whether stored locally or on external drives, work flawlessly.
Blackmagic Disc Speed Test gives me a rating of 370 MB/s for my SSD system drive.  The ratings for my several external USB-3 drives range from 50 - 70 MB/s.
Watching Activity Monitor (sad to report, I don't know how to use it under Mavericks to trouble-shoot performance issues) with Aperture loaded, I notice that it reads "Aperture not responding" when I get the spinning pinwheel.  ("Aperture not responding" has been common since 3.3 or so, and never, IME, indicates a hang or crash.)   Afaict, the problem comes from disk i/o.  Memory, however, is maxed out (typically, e.g.: 15.60 - 15.99  GB used).  CPU for Aperture sometimes get to c. 110%, but many times is at c. 10% or less when the spinner appears.
The Library that is giving me the most problems is c. 900 GB on a 2 TB drive.  The Originals occupy 1.75 TB on a second 2 TB drive.
Apple Store employees tell me a Thunderbolt drive will give me hundreds of of MB/s throughput.  I am skeptical because, afaik, USB-3 should give me up to 500 MB/s and I'm not getting anywhere near that (assuming -- perhaps ignorantly -- the the Blackmagic test is comparable to others).  A large TBolt magnetic drive has been recommended.  Will it make a big difference?
What can I do to eliminate the system waits?
How can I better trouble-shoot what is causing them?
Will Thunderbolt be faster in practice?
Is there any way to get, say, >250 MB/s performance from an external drive holding a very large Aperture Library with millions of files?
Is this the best forum for this?
    Thanks.

First problem most hard drives (Besides SAS 15k) have a throughput less than 100MB/sec.
Thunderbolt won't really help in throughput becuase the drives are already maxed out.
    Three options for moving forward:
    1. Making smaller libraries is going to really help fix this issue.
For reference, your large photo library is like reading the entire encyclopedia to the computer, it takes a long time to look through the entire database (book) to access the files Aperature wants.
When you make said libraries smaller, your computer can read the cliffnotes version in no time at all.
    2. Get a Server or NAS that can do RAID 5 and with the right drives you could reach 300MB/sec.
But that's expensive. I've been able to max out a 1gbps(125MB/sec) link with my photo server while copying assorted photos between drives, but I have zero wait times when working with my images.
    3. Switch to Photoshop or work with files natively on the disk, not inside a database.
Lightroom works on the same photo database principle as Aperature so I cannot recommend it for your case as you won't see any performance improvement.

  • Where to find adapter engine runtime/error logs?

    Hello there,
Wheere can I find the complete (i.e. not only the details of a message delivery via the runtime workbench ) error/runtime logs of the AFW engine?
Im having some problems with the file/FTP adapter and would like to take a closer look of the logs generated by the adapter.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    >>m having some problems with the file/FTP adapter and >>uld like to take a closer look of the logs generated by >>e adapter.
Using Visual adminsitrator you can view detailed logs of various components. IN VA->server->services you will find log cnfiguration, which lets u to change logging more of the components of interest from error to debug.
for better trouble shoting of problems set the logging mode to debug.
test ur scenarios and in log viewer you should be able to see the detailed log.
    cheers,

  • Internet Exporer cannt aply filters to lists

    We're using office 365,
A sharepoint database has been made made of several tables.
Its all working nice however, none of the web brouwsers i use, seams to be able to filter tables.
The pages show a dutch error  (so far trying to set the site to english has no effect either)
"De standaardweergave van de lijst is actief omdat de browser geen ActiveX-besturingselementen ondersteunt."
This error means "The default view is active because the browser doesnt support ActiveX"
Well we're using both Internet Explorer and we are using Firefox, some custommers would use firefox too btw.
I need this to work, but how ?.
Whatever i tried (changing IExplorer (updating it) security settings etc) no luck so far.
Has Microsoft disbanded ActiveX, but still office 365 uses it ???

    Hi PGT2008,
For a better trouble shooting, I suggest you do as the followings:
    1. You can try to access the other page, such as site collection and other list view to check if it works.
    2. If you have tried to enable the activeX in the security settings and the issue still exists, I suggest you can reset all the Internet Explorer Settings to test whether it works.
    3. Also, I suggest you can use Internet Explorer Developer Tool to see if there are some script error in the page.

  • Problems with Zen Ne

To those who owns a Zen neeon... help is needed here.
There are 2 problems i faced.
) I used wireless network and Zen neeon. When i connect my Neeon, the com seems to detect as my network adapter Linksys wireless-G USB network adapter. This happends ON and OFF... not frequent though.
    2) After i uploaded my mp3s, i ON the player...somehow it takes "forever" to load the songs and "update content"...i thought i HANGS, so i resetted and delete some mp3s....in the end realise it REALLY takes tat long to load....Y? so slow mey? i used to use jukebox zen also not tat slow. SAD.

    Hello,
I've also been having problems with my recently purchased Creative Zen Neeon MP3 player. The unit was always rather laggy compared to other MP3 players that I or my friends have used. I thought this was normal for this player, but I've come to the conclusion that this "lagginess" is no longer acceptable and constitutes a problem with this device.
Having read your post, I now know that I am not the only person with such problems. Below is a breakdown of the problems I have had with the unit.
) The unit has been "laggy" and unresponsi've since the day I purchased it. It take a long time for it to execute instructions and for the display to show up - i.e. sometime is take a while for the display to show the correct information while the unit is playing another track.
    2) The unit constantly hangs. The unit is supposed to support "drag-and-drop" style transfers. I transfered folders of songs to the unit via the "drag-and-drop" method. Some folders seem to play fine, however attempts to open some folders or play tracks cause the unit to hang.
    3) when I tried to move a folder of songs into the music folder, the player showed that there were no music files in the folder, even though while checking it on my computer, the files were cleary in the music folder and I could play them there.
While I do understand that this product was only recently released and there are bound to be some problems. I do hope that Creative takes acti've measures to resolve these problems and provide better trouble shooting in future. Personnaly, I will be bringing the unit down for repair or replacement. It would help if fellow users of this device were to list any problems that they may have with the product.

  • "Access denied by Business Data Connectivity" on trying to connect to SQL server for creating external content type

I was trying to create external client type but whenever I try to connect to Database server it is showing me error"Access denied by Business Data Connectivity". I have given the Secure Store Target Application ID coorectly and it is setup coorectly.
In BDC service application I have given myself all the permissions( edit, execute,Selectable in clients,Set Permissions) through set metadata store permission option in it.
Please suggest what other reason can be there for the error.
    Thanks and Regards
    Gaurav

    Hi Gaurav,
If you have given your account all permissions through setting metadata store permission, the issue should be resolved.
For a better trouble shooting , I suggest you do as the followings:
    1. Assign administrators to a Business Data Connectivity service application
Here is a detailed article for your reference:

  • Do you recomend Oracle Lite?

    Hi all,
Do you recomend Oracle Lite or prefer another mobile database ?
    Tks,
    Everson

I have done development on both the 9i and the 10g. 10g is by far the superior product. Although I find them both good. I too use the API and not the development workbench. A couple of reasons I use the APIs over the workbench are that I am working over a slow VPN connection, and this affects the workbench. The other reason I use the APIs is that I am maintaining 380 tables and 800 indexes and over 60 indexes. I built my own JDBC application that would repopulate various tables as the evolution of our application progressed.
The overall performance of 10g is much better then 9i too. I know they have re-written the triggers so they perform better on DML statements. There is a lot more logging in 10g allowing for better trouble shooting techniques.
The 9i system that I built was a Win32 system while the 10g system was Webtogo. Other Oracle products used were Oracle AS with WebCache as a load balancer, Oracle RAC and ASM.
10g also has more features around MGP cycles and MGP processing in general. One performance enhancement is the Shared Maps. Shares data with a group of users. By default the shared maps are set to all users.
I wouldn't say that 10g OC4J container is more fat then 9i lite, I would rather choose to say that 10g lite OC4J is more robust ;)

  • I'm having trouble installing CS6 beta;

I'm having trouble installing CS6 beta; when I try, it says to close background processes - specifically Bridge, which is NOT open. In fact, I just turned the computer on and tried to install what was dowloaded last night. Any ideas?

Are you on Mac or windows?
If you check the Task manager in Win (CTRL+Shift+Esc), or the ForceQuit applications dialog (CMD+Opt+ESC) do you see any Bridge, or other Adobe applications running?

  • FAQ: I'm having trouble installing Flash Catalyst CS5, how do I clean up beta installations?

The majority of users have trouble installing Flash Catalyst CS5 when they have not properly run the uninstaller on a previous version (typically a beta version).
If this is the case, the first thing you should try is running the Adobe CS5 cleanup script: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/829/cpsid_82947.html

Flash Player Protected Mode provides a modern, sophisticated set of security protections that we see as critical in today's security landscape.
We highly recommend that users not disable ProtectedMode.  Also, it's worth noting that by manually changing your mms.cfg, you have opted out of Protected Mode for all future versions of Flash Player, as we will continue to honor that preference. This puts your system at risk, and that risk will continue to grow over time.
Ultimately, this is an issue with the RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in.  There is a more technical explanation in the Mozilla bug referenced above in the thread, but the simplified version is that the security enhancements designed to prevent the introduction of malware via Flash Player make RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in no longer compatible with Flash Player for Firefox.  You can disable the record functionality to eliminate this issue, while retaining the ability to view both Flash and Real Player content.
To disable the Real Player Browser Record functionality while maintaining the enhanced security provided by Flash Player with Protected Mode, do the following:
        Launch RealPlayer
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper-left corner of the window, and choose Preferences
Choose Download & Recording from the left-hand menu
Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browser"
        Click OK

  • Trouble capturing just audio from beta tapes

Hello, I am trying to capture some audio-only beta tapes and having trouble. The deck is all hooked up correctly (deck to IO box to mac), and I followed the manual instructions on how to create an audio only capture setting. When I go to capture the audio, I can hear the audio playing and it says "now capturing", but when it stops I get an error saying "Final cut was unable to read the movie file just captured." Is anyone familiar with this kind of problem? Let me know if you need anymore information about my settings (unfortunately I am relatively new to final cut).
    Thanks,
    Mike

Try this (no guarantees but it used to work): Go into your scratch disk settings and enable "capture video and audio to separate files." Wasn't consistently a problem, but when it was, this solved it. But I used to get the error when tried to initiate the audio only capture. Be sure and turn this off before you capture video and audio.
Also, what happens if you try and capture video and audio of the same section? You can always just export the audio and then delete the capture.

  • BIOS trouble - can't give a better description (sorry)

    Hi everyone!
I'm just finishing a fresh install of Arch on my laptop. Everything's been working great, the wiki and the forums have all the help I've needed so far (props to all the community, I mean it )!
There's just this one thing that's really making me confused... Whenever I reboot or power up the laptop, I get stuck on the BIOS menu. The workaround is forcing the boot from the HD. But I was wondering if I could avoid this and make my HD... I dunno... visible(?) again. I don't have a clue about what to do.
I've disabled UEFI Boot support to avoid having to make the system work with it. I've ran other distros in the past and everything was smooth.
Maybe I did something wrong with GRUB?
    Thanks for any help!

Thanks for all the help you ahve provided so far .
    So...
drcouzelis wrote: Isn't the "Boot from hard drive" option what you want?
Yes, that is the option I have marked. But the system fails to boot from there at startup. As there are no other bootable devices, I get redirected to the setup.
Somehow, srs5694 did a better job of describing the issue than myself. Brilliant !
srs5694 wrote: First, you've got an EFI, not a BIOS, although it sounds like you've done a BIOS/CSM/legacy-mode installation.
Exactly. I did so because the installation procedure is much simpler (as in less time consuming) if you opt to make a legacy-mode install. When I did so, I was aware that I would have to cancel the EFI boot support. At the time, I just assumed that it would be enough and that I wouldn't experience any issues. That, as has been shown, does not work out the problem.
srs5694 wrote: You can collect that information by running the Boot Info Script and posting the RESULTS.txt file that it produces, either between code tags or as a link.

That is, perhaps, the most elegant solution. I must add, though, that I would want to avoid it because it means that I would have to go through the whole process of configuring the system again. Laziness aside , I don't believe that this issue is causing me any trouble with my daily interaction with the computer. All the tasks run normally, the workflow is superb, the disk seems to be working flawlessly...
The only thing that's not so good is that every time I power up the laptop, I'm flashed with that awfully bluish setup .
BTW, my laptop is a Samsung NP305U1A-A02: with the difference that mine has a portuguese keyboard layout (A02PT).

I'm very fond of the word fiddle... What if I installed a free, open-source BIOS in place of my EFI? That seems to be quite risky though.
Yeah, my dream laptop as always been the infamous Lemote. Fundamentalism all the way man !
