4.0 & Netflix - Firefox problem or Silverlight problem?

When I watching something on Netflix, I have to restart Firefox in "32 bit mode." While doing this allows me to watch without problems, does anyone know if this is a Firefox 4 problem (never happened in previous versions) or if it's a Microsoft Silverlight problem? (I've got Silverlight version 4.0.51204.0). Just want to know if I should keep an eye out for a Firefox update/patch or a Silverlight update. Thanks!

I experienced the exact same (very annoying) problem which has caused me, for the last two months, to have to log in twice to netflix to watch anything. Although I can't tell you which coding team is responsible, I feel the error came from the automatic update of the add-ons when Firefox 4 was released. My remedy was to go to the Microsoft Silverlight website and download the .dmg file again and reinstall! Macs are getting more and more like PC's all the time.....of course, we are talking about a Microsoft helper app after all! :P
Good Luck and Hope this Helps!

Can't load Netflix - Firefox says something about cookie problem and recommends try again button. ("The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.)" Hit the try again button repeated ly - nothing???

I decided to give Netflix a call about this problem.
On a recording while waiting for a support rep, it said if you're having problems logging in to go to:
    http://www.netflix.com/clearcookies
It works for me. Now I have to logon everytime I go to their site though versus it had kept me already logged in before this problem.
I will be using that link to get to their site until they get it fixed.

  • Netflix/ Firefox/ Silverlight

I upgraded to Firefox version 7 like last week or the week before. And starting about 2 days ago I am unable to watch netflix. I uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Silverlight a few times and it still does not work. I called netflix and they said that because silverlight is working with internet explorer that it has to be a firefox problem. please help me.

  • Suddenly, I've been put on multiple threads over multiple firefox problems, which is filling up my inbox. How do I get out of these?

Details? I posted a question about one problem (for which no answers have been offered, but that's okay) and somehow, I've become part of multiple threads about various firefox problems. I have no interest in any of these questions/problems.
How do I get out of these threads? I get about 15-20 emails a day! Firefox is by far the worst community I've even been dragged into....

    Sorry you are having problems.
Have a look at your settings in the dropdown from the username or https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/users/settings
Not too sure what you could subscribe to accidentally that causes that behaviour though.
It would be interesting to know what option caused all the email. If something has gone wrong and you are getting e-mails that you should not be getting we can refer this to the admins to look into. The Firefox sumo community certainly does not intentionally spam, and if you are having a problem lets find out more, because others may have a problem and not have reported it.

  • I cannot download individual pictures from ebay. When I right click the picture (enlarged) or the small picture I don't get the option to "save picture as". Is this a firefox problem or a yahoo problem?

I always use firefox to browse the internet. When I attempt to save a picture from ebay I have always enlarged the picture, right click, the clicked "save picture as". Now when I right click I don't get that option. All it will let me do is save the entire ebay item file. When I right click on the enlarged picture, the small picture, or the white near the enlarged photo my icon choices are: 1.Copy 2. Select All 3.Yahoo 4. Search Yahoo for "Please wait imag" 5. View selection source. Is this a firefox problem or a yahoo issue? Please help. Thanks John

I've tried all kinds of different ways to make it work, and nothing! The only way I can get the pictures off ebay is open up a internet explorer window and go that route. Fire fox NEEDS to fix this NOW!

  • New layout, CSS errors and Firefox problems

    Hi
Could it be that some of the Firefox problems are caused by:
    1) The wrong mime type for the CSS files? Currently it appears to be:
    application/x-css
    shouldn't it be
    text/css
    2) Errors in the CSS files and inline CSS of.

    ==== New layout ======
The border error on the download button has been fixed, but the alt attribute of the upper right search icon is still "faq", shouldn't it be "Search"

There are a number of fixes still to be made, but most of them will wait until our upgrade (still a few months out).

hello, maybe an addon or toolbar is inserting this code into websites - please try if sites load correctly in safemode & if so remove all extensions in firefox > addons > extensions, that you don't have installed intentionally or that might look suspicious (especially toolbars of all sorts). also have a look in the windows control panel / programs section and also uninstall toolbars etc. that are listed there...

This is a good question. It's possible your Xserver isn't configured for the correct mouse type. Try logging into a command line console (no X11 running). Run /usr/bin/X11/X -configure. It should create an Xorg configuration file in your root directory.
Copy this to /etc/X11/Xorg.conf and try restarting your Xserver. The file it creates might require some tweaking.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Can't read Adobe reader files, they are too faint to see; Works fine in IE, so it must be a Firefox problem.

I just noticed a problem yesterday after a customer called and said that they weren't able to view the 24 volt computer link on our website.  So I went can check with Firefox and it won't display when I never used to have any problems with Firefox.  I tried in IE and it worked fine.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  The website is www.lamppakuuma.com and the link that won't display is http://lamppakuuma.com/24%20Volt%20Computer.html.  It is under our furnace section.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated because this is my 1st website design and it used to work correctly.
    Thank you,
Just giving a link isn't any good to anyone, no-one can see a link unless they start clicking on everything on the page.  Can you tell us what words/image to click on?

Caused by a Bug in Firefox 4.0b12. It was fixed on Monday in the 4.0b13 pre "tester" nightly's. The fix will be in the 4.0 Release Candidate.

This only happens when I'm in my browser. Ex. when I'm on a site and I decide I like what I see and want to print it text that is, my printer always prints tiny. When I'm in Microsoft Word for ex. I print it and it looks like what I expect. So I don't know if somehow my printer got set to print tiny when on the web. If you can help me I would be most appreciative. Thanks again for your response.
