4.01 video is distorted

I have been watching the Seinfeld videos most every day. Worked fine until I updated to 4.01. Now videos are distorted, jerky, stop a lot, unable to be watched.

There are no settings on the PInnacle to adjust. I have used the Pinnacle before, and every so often I will get these slight glitches. Its strange - you might think its the pinnacle, BUT the same glitch happens at the spot on the tape every time which may lead one to think its the tape. But if I play the same tape on my TV, there is nothing wrong with it. Any ideas?
Could it have anything to do with the FW ports on the G5?

  • Video is distorted when transferring from a VHS

I have tried several times to transfer VHS tapes into iMovie on my MacG5 via a pinnacle movie box dv. The tapes tends to start transferring well, but then I see momentary glitches where the video becomes distorted and the sound pops. Any idea why this could happen and how to prevent it?

  • Why do some videos appear distorted or grainy?

I have first generation iPad. Why do some videos appear distorted or grainy?  Is there a fix for this? I am using only WiFi portion of product.

What videos? You may be viewing some very low-resolution videos.

  • Videos are distorted

I just got my Premiere Elements and idk why my videos are distorted. When I watch them on Windows media player they aren't but when I add them to Premier Elements, they're all distorted... any solutions?

-My footage is from PC files and folders, they are AVI files. These are videos I shot with my 35mm digital camera with a movie mode.
-I use the default Project Setting in Adobe Premiere Elements 8, I have not changed any of the settings.
-My Graphics Card is "Plug & Play Monitor on RADEON x300SE 128MB Hypermemory (i don't know where to look for the video card make/model or the video driver number/date).
This is all really confusing, I hope this helps. (and thanks to everyone for your help so far)!
P.S. I used the trial version of Adobe Premier Elements before and it played my footage fine. I made sure to unistall it before I installed Adobe Premier Elelments 8

  • When i move video to imovie  video becomes distorted.

i upload the video from camera to imovie no problem, when i edit and download to face book or other format the video is distorted and blurry

    Try this:
Go to the Share Menu > Export using QuickTime...
Under the 2 pulldown menus at the bottom of the window choose for Export: Movie to MPEG-4
    Under the Use: choose LAN/Intranet
Click Save and save it to the Desktop
Open the  Facebook web page and upload that video directly using the web browser. See if the video still looks blurry

I  wonder if another provider would really be much different?  Read some of the other carrier forums - seems to be the same story everywhere.
I'm not disagreeing with you - I've found that I am usually more informed about Verizon policies and procedures than some of the reps in our local store.

  • Video randomly distorts at times. Why?

I've had my MacBook for about a year and it has always done this. I'll be watching a movie and it'll distort/pixelate for a few seconds and then go back to normal. The sound will cut out for that 1-2 seconds as well. It's not the movies, I know that for a fact. I'll rewind it when it happens and it won't happen again at that particular part. It's not the applications I use to play the movies.. i've tried several.
I tried researching this a little and saw there were known problems with video cards in some MacBook Pros. But I bought mine in mid 2010 and I believe the issues were with computers sold before then. I could be wrong about that though. It's at a point now where I don't know what's causing this and I want to resolve the issue. I'm starting to watch movies more from my Mac to my TV and it's beginning to get annoying.
Here are the specs direct from my MacBook Pro box:
2.4GHz Intel Core i5 Processor, 3MB shared level 3 cache
    4GB of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM
    320GB 5400-rpm hard drive
15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display; 1440 by 900 pixels
    Intel HD Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
    Built-in iSign video camera2
    8x slot-loading SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/CD-RW)
    Mini DisplayPort
SD card slot, FireWire 800 port, two USB 2.0 ports
Optical digital audio/analog audio input and output ports; built-in stereo speakers
    Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet
Built-in AirPort Extreme wireless networking (802.11n)3 and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
Backlit keyboard and ambient light sensor
Preinstalled Mac OS X and iLife
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

What of movies are you watching?  Commercial, rental, home made, etc.?

    And those were?

I have a 2008 Macbook Pro and I have never had the type of issues you are describing.  Have you tried a drive cleaner or a disc cleaner?

  • Arrow Buttons Below YouTube Videos are Distorted

Below any video I watch on YouTube, the arrow next to the "Add To" button and the "Download" button (with the Easy YouTube Video Downloader add-on installed) are distorted. This doesn't happen in Chrome or IE9. This also happened in Firefox 4.0 so it isn't 5.0 specific.
It seems to only be my main computer, it doesn't happen on my notebook (Windows XP). So I am wondering what could it be about my computer that makes this happen. I have tried clearing the cache, using a clean profile and reinstalling Firefox and this has not helped in any way.

Solved this right after I posted the question, here's what I did:
Unchecked "Use hardware exceleration when available" in Firefox's advanced settings.

  • Steaming video is distorted

Recently my video playback has been distorted. When playing Youtube videos for example, there is a line splitting the picture when there is fast action being played. However, any video that has been saved to the disk doesn't show this interference. any help please.
I have ensured that I have the latest flash player etc

    Hey @Redsocks ,
Well that is good. The only thing you can do the Google Chrome you need to uninstall and reinstall. If you have already checked the extensions are enabled.
    Thanks.

  • Importing Alg Audio & Video with distorted audio, how to improve sound now.

Been using iMovie & Quicktime to import Analog A/V. This last project I imported the movie into iMovie. The sound has lots of echo and distortion. Can someone tell me what would be the best iLife program to use for audio correction.
Can you also help me with a jump start on some of the best quick corrections for distorted sound, echo & hiss. I would like to restore the audio as best as I can with the iLife programs.
For the record I am also interested in turning stereo audio into surround sound.
Help for my rookie self would be much appreciated as I am currently in a tight time crunch.
    Many thanks.
    John

  • Why are my exported .wmv videos sometimes distorted during the first few seconds?

I am creating 15 second looping motion backgrounds using After Effects CS5 and exporting using Media Encoder. WMV is the only format that is compatible with the programme my clients are using to play them - this is mainly a niche market being churches using EasyWorship, which utilises Windows Media Player to play all videos from, but doesn't support any other codec that WMV.
I am using ccParticle world to produce the particles, using both the default particles (i.e. shaded sphere etc.) and my own either brought in from Photoshop or basic shapes created on After Effects.
I am using fractal noise to give the background layers more depth and texture.
I have made all my looping backgrounds so far using all the features above, making both a HD version and an SD version in After Effects. Some of the backgrounds have exported fine in both formats, whereas a lot, both SD and HD versions have distortion/pixelation at the start lasting for a few seconds.
    1080p version export
WIndows media video, 720p - changed the frame rate from 24fps to 25.
    SD version export
Windows media video, PAL to high quality version
It is a bit hit and miss whether the backgrounds have this distortion at the start or not... apart from the arrangement and properties of the particles and colour themes everything is the same for all my backgrounds and I am using the same exporting properties every time.
Once again I am probably missing something...
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Many thanks

Thanks for your reply. I am using a standard preset for the SD export. For the HD I am selecting a standard preset but changing the frame rate. I am not altering the bitrate or any other settings (apart from un-ticking the 'export audio' box). With both I get the pixelation.
H.264 is fine. So I have even tried converting the H.264 file into .WMV just to see if it makes a difference but it still has the pixelation.
For some of my other similar videos I have used exactly the same presets and altered the frame rate on the HD version and had no problem.
I just don't understand why some videos are affected and not others.
I really need a glitch free  HD and an SD .WMV version of the same video that my customers can purchase along with the EasyWorship software mentioned above.

  • Converting upright video without distortion

How do I put upright video into iMovie without the footage distorting?

First you drag the clips that you want into the project from the Event.
Select a clip. Open the Rotate, Crop, Ken Burns Tool.
    Then you have two choices.
FIT will place your whole vertically oriented clip into the movie, and will fill in on either side with black bars. (Letterboxing).
CROP will make your vertically oriented video fill the landscape screen by chopping off the top and bottom of your clip.

  • Preview and rendered video has distortion

    Hi,
I have scoured this forum but can't seem to find my exact problem. I am getting very jerky playback (which I have seen in other posts) but mine is getting this odd green distortion too. The distorion seems to happen the exact same place every time in the preview and the rendered video. Last week this problem was occuring so I went and updated Quicktime and deleted my media cache in Premiere. Something seemed to help... for a while. Now the problem is back and worse than ever.
Below is a screen shot of what I mean... Any ideas would be greating appreciated.

    Thank you Ann & Jim!
First, let me say you got me working. It was the video driver.
I did think of this before, but I went to Device Manager (Win7) and checked for driver updates there. There were none. But becuase you mentioned it, I pushed a little harder by going to Lenovo's site and downloading the latest drivers from there, not knowing if it's what I already have... It worked like a champ! Video looks pristine again.
Thank you, and please pardon my bone-headedness.
Just for giggles, I'm including my system specs in case it can help the next guy somehow.
    Lenovo G560 (laptop)
    Win7 x64
    i5 Core (not 2nd gen)
    4gb RAM

  • Speeding up youtube video sound distortion

when i go to speed up youtube videos cause i have so many subscriptions speeding them up saves time and most of them i can without losing anything but lately the sound at 2x gets choppy and above that is impossible to watch i know it seems an odd complaint it vastly slows down my youtube subscriptions

    operating system windows 8.1
    browers chrome 42.0.2311.90 m internet explorer 11.0.9600.17728
Adobe Flash Player (2 files) - Version: 17.0.0.169
    Shockwave Flash 17.0 r0
clicking on any video on youtube loads fine going to settings then speed normal speed works fine going up to 1.25 on chrome makes the audio crack every 10 seconds or so , going up to 1.5 the audio starts cracking badly and makes the video almost stop for 5-10 seonds and 2 makes it even more un-watchable, on internet explorer the sound distorts more and more but it doesnt stop running like on chrome but is inaudible 1.5 to 2 i disabled all extensions to chrome not sure if this would be a youtube issue or a flash issue but its not isolated to chrome, i updated windows today and even checked my sound settings to see if there is a change

  • Help! my video looks distorted!

I created a movie (mostly using still photos) on final cut express and when previewing it in final cut AND when viewing it after it was burnt to a dvd....it looks distorted. There's a bunch of lines all over the place...which makes the stills unclear and it's especially more obvious when using the ken burns effect. Does anyone know what's going on? Please help!

First, I click the effects tab>video>de-interlace. I then drag the de-interlace icon that is in the effects tab to a still picture in the timeline. When I double click on the picture in the timeline, I then click on the filters tab in the viewer window. De-interlace is shown under the video filters list. I have tried all options under de-interlace (lower-odd, lower-even, flicker filter-minimal, flicker filter-medium,filter flicker-max) and they all do not work. When I preview it, it looks like there's a slight blur to the picture. But after I render the video, those jagged lines still appear on all straight edges in the picture. I have burnt the video to dvd, using idvd, and it still looks the same when I view it on my TV. Is there another way to view the video on the TV before burning it to a DVD so that I do not have to waste anymore DVDs? Am I adding the de-interlace incorrectly? Please, please, please help me! It's so frustrating and my movie is due next week, so I need to figure this out real quick. Thank you guys for trying to help
