4.0EA2 - PDF of diagram Truncated

I may have run into a possible bug. I am running 4.0.0.820 and when I run a report that includes diagrams, the resulting pdf is truncated. By truncated I mean that not all the tables are visible and some of the tables are cut off vertically (I can see the column names but the data types are missing. To generate the report I selected the following:
Available Reports: Tables
Output Format: HTML
Report Title : All Tables Details
I created a template called Table Template 1 (original huh) and left every checkbox checked.
Under Loaded Designs it points to the one design and model I have available. I then created a Report Configuration (called Report Config). This config has one sub-view selected and all the tables in the sub-view selected. This sub-view has 25 tables and 37 FK relations.
The report (HTML) generates fine (nice layout and good info). When I click on the referenced PDF link in the "Used In Diagrams" section for an individual table, a one page PDF opens with the truncated image. I wouldn't mind a multiplage PDF or, ideally, a PDF that shows the single table.
As a side note: I've noticed similar behavior when I do a Print Diagram -> PDF. If I have my model zoomed out so I can see all the tables and no details (column names, table names, etc) showing, when I save the PDF it saves the exact same way. This is also true for the SVG export and Image. Whatever level of zoom I have selected is the level of zoom on the image.
Finally (and yes I know that is three different items in one post) can anyone suggest a good way to print these models on on a plotter that is connected to a different computer. I need to save the model into a format that a computer that does not have Data Modeler on can print. This computer is used to generate all sorts of GIS models but does not have Data Modeler installed (installing is not an option because of "Policy"). That is why I have been playing with PDF, SVG, and PNG files all afternoon.

I cannot reproduce it. Can you send that pdf file to my email - it's "my first name dot last name at oracle dot com"
This sub-view has 25 tables and 37 FK relations.
I assume your model has much more tables and FKs. If your design is big you can try to increase memory dedicated to Data Modeler - sometimes low memory impacts printing to pdf.
Print Diagram -> PDF. If I have my model zoomed out so I can see all the tables and no details (column names, table names, etc) showing, when I save the PDF it saves the exact same way
Correct - current status of diagram is printed. So you need to set 1:1 zoom ratio ("Default Size" icon on toolbar - the one between "Fit Screen" and "Find")

PDF file contains truncated records

Hi ppl,
I have created a report program where I am displaying my data using dynamic internal table concept.
The next part of the requirement is that the output should be converted to PDF and sent as an e-mail attachment to the e-mail ID mentioned on the selection screen.
For this, I am using the below mentioned logic:
1. The program should be executed in background only for spool generation.
2. I am getting the spool ID at runtime and converting the spool in PDF using FM 'CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'.
3. Sending this PDF via email as an attachment using the FM 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1'.
The program gets executed without any error; I am even getting e-mails with the PDF document.
But, as my output record size is dynamic in nature, even in the spool, I sometimes don't see the complete record displayed.
So, the PDF file which I receive also shows truncated records.
I need the full record to be seen in the PDF irrespective of the record length.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

Check if changing the line-size parameter in the report statement helps. Else you might have to choose a output type which can hold more number of columns.

Pdf files print in gibberish

I have vista home premium 2 gigs of ram and 3ghz. processor. When I try to print any pdf the diagram prints fine but the words and no.'s are gibberish ? This happens in IE7 Firefox 3.0.6. I can save the file to my desk top and it still prints the same way. I have tried printing to a brother hl 2040 laser and an epson r280 inkjet with same results.
I can print from windows xp computer using reader 8 and everything prints fine to either printer. My xp has less ram and is a lot slower 1.6 ghz.

I have the same problem. Unfortunately "print as image" does not solve the problem. May be, we have to add some fonts to the system, the question is: Wich fonts?

Oracle 11g R2 Architecture Diagram

Hi,
I trust this is the right way to go about the following
Few years ago I created an architecture diagram for 10g. I have now updated that diagram to include new features of Oracle 11g. Obviously there is so much one can detail in one page PDF Architecture diagram. It is in draft stage so I will appreciate any feedback on the diagram before I release it to the community. I have not released it on any website yet as I am keen on direct feedbacks. Anyone who is interested please send me an email to [email protected] and I will forward the diagram for their comments.

Mail 4.5 corrupts PDF attachments from gmail (while outlook 2011 doesnt)

I have a gmail account with scanned documents.
I add this account to in Mail and then some of the PDFs are damaged and can not be corrected. The interesting matter is that via web-access and Outlook 2011 there is not a problem.
I have tried many different solutions I could find on the web incl. here. From deleting the mailboxes to deleting the cache-files. Ultimately I deleted the whole mail app (incl. lib files with CleanMyMac), reinstalling and reinstalling the combo.
After adding the account the last time, I minimized the window, till all activity was finished and everything cashed etc.
I opened mail and again the same problem.
Additional remarks: There are many attachments with the same name, because they were send by a HP Office machine. Some have a problem most don't I would estimate the problem is in 10% of the mails.
Again via Web-access and Outlook 2011 all attachments are correct.
I could use Outlook, their calendar doesn't sync with gmail and I also don't like how outlook is handling (and messing-up) my v.cards .
Any help would be highly appreciated.

I know that if the Mailbox index gets corrupted, it can cause attachments to be lost - at least temporarily. When I do testing with a local mail server, sometimes the timing is off (too fast maybe) and the message is almost always corrupted. Rebuilding the mailbox fixes it.
My initial theory was that the HP devices were spitting out bad MIME messages and that gmail was fixing them. Now I think that gmail IMAP just flakes out every so often with these big files. There could be other explanations too. The PDF was just truncated. I don't think a bug in Apple Mail is a likely possibility.

Truncated Word Docs

When I convert from PDF to Word using the Adobe Export PDF it is truncating the top of my document? Any ideas?

Thanks but I searched and searched there. Nothing listed that addresses this issue. Am I the only person to upgrade to 10.6 and have a problem with seeing type in Word afterwards? Does anyone understand what the error message means?

Copying text to the clipboard in AVDocDidOpen event handler causes Acrobat 9 to crash

I'm trying to copy the filename of a document to the clipboard in a plugin with my AVDocDidOpen event handler. It works for the first file opened; however when a second file is opened, Acrobat crashes. The description in the application event log is: "Faulting application acrobat.exe, version 9.1.0.163, faulting module gdi32.dll, version 5.1.2600.5698, fault address 0x000074cc."
I've confirmed that the specific WIN32 function that causes this to happen is SetClipboardData(CF_TEXT, hText); When that line is commented out and remaining code is left unchanged, Adobe doesn't crash.
Is there an SDK function that I should be using instead of WIN32's SetClipboardData()? Alternately, are there other SDK functions that I need to call be before or after I call SetClipboardData()

I tried it with both "DURING, HANDLER, END_HANDLER" and "try catch," as shown below. However, it doesn't crash in the event handler; it crashes later, so the HANDLER/catch block is never hit.
The string that's passed to SetClipboardData() is good, because I'm able to paste it into the filename text box of the print dialog when I try to create the "connector line" PDF. I also got rid of all the string manipulation and tried to pass a zero-length string to the clipboard but it still crashes.

Folder or document name

How do I show the entire name of a folder or document? The previous version of pdf did not truncate folder or pdf names/titles.

There is a "ContentType" Managed Property... Not sure how well that will work being that it is normally mapped to the content type ID, and not the friendly name. But you might be able to mask it if you create a custom search results page,
and modify the XML to the Filter web part. Its going to be tough, but (if you have access to CA) you can add a "DocumentType" or other Metadata property that maps to the friendly name of Content Type, and use that in your search filter web part.

Oracle SQL Data Modeler -COMPARE/MERGE

Hi all,
I am trying to compare/merge or just trying to merge a relation model with another in Oracle SQL Developer DATA MODELER.
Scenario:
I have tried to import from data dictionary the hr schema into 3 parts.
Table employee is alone imported in one design model's relational model(say DataModelerDesign1- DMD1).
Table Departments,Locations and Countries in another design model's relational model(say DMD2).
Table Job_history,Jobs and Regions in another design model's relational model(say DMD3).
Now, I tried to merge all this into one design model's relational model, here into DMD3.
Requirement:
I want all of this relational model's tables to get merged with exact mappings as if it is in HR schema all connected to each other. But they are all getting merged as separate entities not conencted to each other when taken from Compare/merge option. How should i do this task?
Issues:
1) I can never see anything in the compare model when i try to click on view compare mapping. Can anytime we see any data here?
2) In realtime scenario, when will we try to merge a table into another or split it. Because some foriegn key violations are happening here. Is it ever possible to succeed our requirement while merging itself instead of creating relationships between entities manually in main relationship model DMD3 in example here.

I have found on occasions the diagram pdf would be missing a few relationship lines. Usually it happens after I have been doing a lot of work in the tool or printing a bunch of diagrams. Seems to be a memory leak of some sort. If I close Data Modeler, re-open it, then print to PDF, the diagram is fine.

Financial reports grid

I am have planing application in which accounts dimension has Text field members say Project justification i.e. whenever project
gets budgeted,business user wants to give justification for project. In Financial reporting, I want to report on project costs and
it's justification. In Web Preview I can view the justification but in PDF preview justification truncates. Users has acess to PDF
only and hence they can't view the justification. Please suggest some settings in FR Grid to accomodate justification irrespective of
it's length.

Take a look at page settings (File->page settings). If pages are fixed either width or length wise, uncheck and test again.

Connecting gaming console. MoCA adapter or Router?

I haven't really been able to find a definitive answer to this anywhere. Currently, my FIOS setup has the routers/wireless transceiver in a bedroom at the front of the house. I have a game console in the den at the back of the house. I do not want to move the router, but I want to get the gaming console off of the wireless connection and hardiwred with some cat5. There is a coax connection in the den, with a STB connected. I'm considering getting a MoCA adapter to use at this location, so I can branch a cat5 off and maintain the coax for the STB. Will this work? I keep reading what indicates to me that the MoCA needs to be downstream from the router, but one or two site don't seem to say that. So, can I simply install a MoCA adapter at the coax line in the den, split coax off to the STB and have cat5 for me console, and be happy? Or would I need a secondary router at this location instead of the MoCA adapter, becuase the MoCA would need to be downstream from the router?

You confusion is justified, in that the diagram you listed does not represent your system (as I understand it). Note that in the diagram, the router is provisioned via Ethernet WAN. In your home, you are using what's called "coax WAN."
Don't spend too much time with this unless your curiosity is aroused and you want to delve further. Just realize that anywhere you have a coax connection in the building, you can add one of the adapter devices in question and also have an Ethernet connection at that same location.
Admittedly this takes some getting used to when one first encounters the Verizon or MoCA method. The confusion arises because the coax sends different types of signals at different frequencies over the same wire. What the adapter does is help separate these different signals for particular uses (TV, Internet, etc.).
I hope that hasn't made things more foggy. Very shortly you will be happy with the proposed solution.

We are running balance sheet report in pdf format, it is displaying complete report.
When we run same balance sheet report in postscript format than part of the reports is displaying it is cutting from the right hand side.
Could you please let me know where to look to get this solve.

PDF data truncated

Hi All,
I am trying to convert the Spool data to PDF and sending it as email. The email has sent sucessfully, but the problem here is the data is getting truncated. But in spool I can see all the fields displayed. Where as in PDF some fields are getting truncated. When I run my spool request using standard program "RSTXPDFT4", I am getting the same problem. Please help me if any one has some idea regarding this.

I am able to generate a PDF,but it gets truncated.
In the place where its expected to display 200 CHARACTERS,
it displays only 85 CHARACTERS.
REST is TRUNCATED.
Any more solutions???
I am looking at a solution to overcome TRUNCATION.........

Is it possible to implement a truncation of text (a "more/less") function for paragraphs in PDFs?

I work at a center for public service and we're trying to make our service handbook more user friendly. However, we're not experts when it comes to using Adobe Acrobat X Pro.
Instead of having to scroll through the many pages of the handbook, we would like to implement a "more/less" function or a truncation of text. Are we able to do this for a PDF?

At this point however, we're not sure if it's even possible to implement this function into a PDF. Is it possible or are we just wasting our time trying to find a way to do it?

Not really an option for PDFs. You can have stuff on layers that appears or disappears, but unlike web pages the page layout is fixed: everything stays where it is on a page. For more/less to work nicely you need a format where stuff can move down/up to make room or close gaps.
