4.0EA3 BUG: Database copy of a SDO_GEOMETRY column fails

I'm trying to copy a table that has a SDO_GEOMETRY column and it just fails:
When copying a error message appears:
Error occurred inserting data for TABLE: CLIENT_LOCATION.  Batch 1 containing 500 rows failed.
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY got CHAR
The problem seems to be present also in sql developer 3.2.20.09: https://forums.oracle.com/message/11001171

It's still a bug. Limitation in the JDBC driver and user defined types is causing the issue.

    Welcome to the forum!
Whenever you post provide your full version number for Sql Developer and, if a database is involved the name and full version of the DB.

Since you haven't posted your version and provided the exact steps you are using we have no idea what you are doing to try to copy a table.

  • Bug: 1.5.1 database copy dies silently

When using the tool 'Database copy' with a source schema with a lot of data, the tool dies silently with the following error :
Exception in thread "RunnerThread" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
The same exception also happens when using the tool 'Database Export', even during dumping the data, it dies with the same error.
Could this be fixed? that way sqldeveloper can be used to put data from one database to another database.
    Thanks,
    Jan

SQL Developer gives the error in the console when it is started in debug mode, the ide itself doesn't give any notion.
Giving SQL Developer JVM more memory is indeed a workaround but with the amount of data I try to unload or copy, SQL Developer will fail before the end I fear.
It would be nice if this behavior is recognized as a bug and will be fixed in a future release.
    Thanks,
    Jan

  • Bug Database for Sun ONE Studio 8

Is there an online bug database for the Sun ONE Studio 8 Compiler Collection, like there is for all of the Java related tools? I know we have product support, but I don't want to go through the overhead of 4 or 5 layers of people to report a minor problem I have found.
The minor problem is that the er_src utility will open files in the current working directory in preference to an absolute pathname specified on the command line. I used it from my home directory, giving it an executable name and source file name each about 5 levels deep in directories below my home -- with absolute paths. I was shocked to see the source from a six year old version of the file in the output. The 'truss' utility revealed that the source was being opened from my current directory -- ignoring the absolute path. This version of the file is one I have kept for reference, being the initial port of the program from a different language.
It appears that er_src attempts the unqualified file name first, then the absolute path if it fails to find the unqualified name.

The er_src man page does say the .er.rc files are processed, which implies that the setpath/addpath handling is done, at least to me. So the behavior reported is what I would have expected, but the manpage could, and should be more explicit.
The er_print man page is more specific, and does say that the compiled-in path is used only if the file is not found searching the current path mappings, which do contain "."
Can you tell me exactly what you'd like us to do? We did it this way because users complained about using the compiled in path, rather than finding the file in . or the experiments, where we explicitly tell people to copy files for archival purposes.
If you want us to change the behavior, please tell us EXACTLY what the desired behavior is. We could define a special symbol, like $EXPTS, to refer to the compiled-in path, $COMPPATH, perhaps, and then it could be put before or after . or $EXPTS.
Another issue is which name to use when. er_src has two referents for a path, one for "object", the thing whose source is being dumped, and a second for "item", specifying which item contained in the object should be dumped. For item, I believe we always only use the
base name, even if an absolute name is given. It is used to match against the names contained in object's symbol tables. All of this is complicated by NFS -- the present functionality is intended to behave gracefully when a file is examined on a machine other than the one on which
    it was compiled.

  • SQL Developer database copy corrupts wrapped PL/SQL

    SQL Developer 3.0.04.34, database 11.2.0.2.2
Database copy brings over the wrapped pl/sql DDL, but somehow corrupts the code and will not compile.
It must be recreated from source plb file.
expdp / impdp does not have this problem.
This would appear to be a bug.

Any idea how to over come that...Don't use it, use the database's IMPDP/EXPDP tools for copying large quantities of data or whole schemas or databases.
Also adding the Filter or selection like the Database Export functionality in Database Copy will really be helpful in this kind of situation. The Developer team has any plans?Probably not right now, but you can request this at the SQL Developer Exchange though, so other users can vote and add weight for possible future implementation.

  • Javascript error in BEx after system database copy

    Hello,
we made a database copy of our BW 3.1 system on another hardware. After having done everything described in the How-To-Guide "Enable SAP BW Web functionality", we called the BEx via URL. The login screen displays and also the Report menu, but there occur JavaScript errors on the page, that didn't occur in the copy master. E.g.
"SAPBWSSgdo is null or not an object" or
    "SAPBWItemCatalog undefined".
These errors prevent the choice menu for BW report value options to be displayed, which is quite annoying. Does anybody know where the error might come from? Are there any components required by BEx which weren't copied with the database copy?
Thanks for your help in advance,
    Volker Hofmann

    Hi Beat,
thanks you're helping me! The MIME-Repository objects like JS-Files, stylesheets and images can be read. The strange thing is:
The J2EE engine is hosted by a provider. When they're calling the BEx web reports, they're displayed correctly. But when we call them (via proxy!), the error occurs. Even the application management doesn't know where the error comes from, after having checked if the proxy caches old data. The error is still not resolved...
    Do you have another idea?
    Regards,
    Volker

  • Mailbox Database Copy Status Failed

We have 2 Exchange 2010 servers.  We run a DAG.  Recently I have noticed that database copy DB2 which is located on Exch-1 is showing "Failed".  Database copy DB1 which is located on Exch-2 is showing Healthy.  I searched online
for information regarding the issue with the failed database copy.  I found information that led me to run these commands.
Suspend-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity “Mailbox Database XXXXX\Server Name”
Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity “Mailbox Database XXXXX\Server Name” -DeleteExistingFiles
It went thru the seeding process and completed but the database copy still shows "Failed".  Copy Q Length is 19.  I have refreshed the console.  What else do I need to do to correct this?  I did recently shut down Exch-2 server
    for maintenance.  thanks

  • SQL Developer Database Copy truncates DATE columns

Hope someone can help me. I want to copy all object from one schema to another schema in my Database. I have used the "tools - Database Copy" utility and it copies all of the objects and data however when I query the DATE columns in the destination schema the time element has been truncated? Why has this happened?
tab_h contains a column h_date of type DATE
    Query
    SELECT TO_CHAR(H_DATE, 'MM-DD-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') from tab_h;
    returns
    02-07-2012 09:54:14
    from the source table
    yet returns
    02-07-2012 00:00:00
from destination schema? This is the case for all DATE columns in the tables.
I noticed this was happening in 3.0.04.34 and I upgraded to 3.1.07.42 and it still happens.
    Thank you

Maybe there's a problem getting the OS settings right; try to add this to \sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf:
AddVMOption -Duser.region=USIf that works, you can try others closer to you.
    Hope that helps,

  • How to Create a database copy and specify the source database.

    Hello,
In my dag environment I would like to create a new database copy and specify the source. My company has database copies in 2 locations. Instead of transferring the data from one location to the other, I would like to specify the source be the copy that is
    in the same location.
    Thank you,
    ~Mark

    Hi,
We can create a mailbox database, then run EMC and EMS to create a database copy.
More details about Add a Mailbox Database Copy, for your reference:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd298080(v=exchg.141).aspx
Note: please pay attention to Prerequisites section, for example:
    1. The specified Mailbox server must not already host a copy of the specified mailbox database.
    2. The server hosting the specified database and the server that will host the database copy must both be in the same database availability group (DAG). The DAG must also have quorum and be healthy.
    Thanks

  • Database limit warning when creating database copy

    Exchange 2010 Standard SP3 RU3.
    2 Server mailbox DAG.
I have 5 mailbox databases mounted. I have a copy of each database. WHen I try to create a copy for the 5th mailbox database I get the following warning "Server has reached the maximum database limit of 5.
Looking at my server, There was an old database that was never used in the exchange directory but its not listed in the EMC.
Is it possible that information about an old database still exists in AD? Where can I verify in Adsiedit what exchange databases it sees?

    Hi,
One server limited to 5 databases in Exchange 2010 Standard edition.
So, from the description of your screenshot I summary the following information:
The following databases stayed on NASD-MBX1:
    Mailbox Database Admin
    Mailbox Database Faculty
    Mailbox Database Faculty Large
    Mailbox Database Faculty Medium
    Mailbox Database Faculty Small (Mounted)
The following databases stayed on NASD-MBX2:
    Mailbox Database Admin (Mounted)
    Mailbox Database Faculty (Mounted)
    Mailbox Database Faculty Large (Mounted)
    Mailbox Database Faculty Medium (Mounted)
Public Folder Database (It should be here, right?) (Mounted)
Now, if we try to make a copy of “Mailbox Database Faculty Small”,
it will be available as a passive database copy on NASD-MBX2. However, there are five Database mounted on NASD-MBX2 including the Public Folder Database. So it will
get the error “Server has reached the maximum database limit of 5”. We can delete the Public Folder Database to test it.
In ADSIEdit, please refer the following image to find these databases.
    Best Regards.

  • Where can I find the bug database?

I was reading through the release notes for 2.4.16 and saw a reference to bug #16288 might have bearing on a problem I'm having. Would anyone know where I could find a detailed description of this bug? Also, if I find something that looks like a bug in the Berkeley DB XML, where would I send my report?

    Hello,
Your problem is definitely [#16288] (see response on another thread). As Lauren said there is no publicly available bug database. Report them here and if you have a question about something from the changelog post that here as well, as you did.
