4.1.2 Upgrade-how?

Has the naming convention changed? I have DVD StudioPro 4 as a single unit.
The download section will not accept my serial number.. I don't have FinalCut Pro.
How can I download the 4.1.2 upgrade?
So easy for everything else.

You cannot upgrade to the new Universal Binary versions DVD SP (4.1 or 4.2) the standalone only went up to 4.03. Apple had an upgrade/crossgrade that for about 18 months, which expired in March, to get the first Final Cut Studio off of 4.0.x

If you don't have a backup, then all your pics/text/notes are gone.
You can sync back music and app. If you were syncing your contacts with a program in itunes, then you'll get that back.
Not sure why you didn't do a backup, especially prior to doing an upgrade.

Double tap the home button, then when in multitasking view take your index finger and swipe up on a card to completely exit the app. Same goes for safari but instead of swiping up swipe to the left or tap the x icon when you are in the multi page view.

Welcome to the Support Communities! When did you purchase your Mac? The first thing I would suggest is to review the information in the resource below for the Up-To-Date Program for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
Once Yosemite is installed, you should have the option to Accept the Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps in the Mac App Store Purchases pane.

I guess I have a bigger problem with contacts. I can find a vcard on the drive, I right click and say to open in contacts and it won't even open the contacts. It won't allow me to import (that option is grayed)
When I open the contact app is only has this:
<null> (0 cards)
at the bottom I have the + but it doesn't allow me to add anything.
It will not allow me to export a vcard

Upgraded - how can I get my meta data back???

I just updated to Mavericks and installed iPhoto 11 (v9.5). It opened my library and said it would need to upgrade. After it did that, everything had disappeared but after running iPhoto Library Manager, I managed to retrieve all my photos. But they are in one giant event (12,500 photos). No albums etc...
I have (more than one) backup of the orignal iPhoto library, but each time I point the new iPhoto at an old version it tells me it's going to upgrade then drops me into the post-it note "To get started with iPhoto..." screen. I have used the rebuild options from within my old iPhoto (version 8.1.2) prior to moving to 9.5 but nothing has worked. I've deleted plist files, caches etc, following advice from the forums but still haven't found a fix.

Hard drive upgrade, how? Best way?

I'm interested in upgrading my internal hard drive on my MacBook.
I made the mistake of only getting the 120 hard drive, not taking into account the fact that I would have a chunk of that allocated to the Windows machine that is created by Parallels.
So, I would like to go to a 200 or 250GB hard drive now. The issue that concerns me is how to go about doing the actual change over without loosing anything on my current one, as well as how I would go about transferring Parallels?
I do have 250GB external hard drive, so I can transfer all of what I have on the current internal to that. I'm wondering if there is a way to do the thing that I did when I first got this one, which is transfer ALL of my settings (system settings and all) and files from the old computer to this one.
Can I do this with a new hard drive?
Would I need to reinstall and start over with parallels or would I be able to transfer that onto the hard drive?

I would use something like SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner and make a full bootable backup of the internal HD to your external HD.
Be aware that this will delete everything that is now on the external HD.
For safety reboot your Mac while holding down the Option/alt-key and choose the external to boot from.
Verify that everything is okay and if so replace the internal HD with the new one.
Again boot from the external HD and run SD or CCC again to copy all from the external to the internal HD.

N80 firmware upgrades (how?)

There has been some discussion here about the N80 firmware. My N80 is orange and suffers from a few issues. Firstly the web browser is pretty much useless for me, out of memory errors on almost every page. Relatively frequent out of memory errors in Gallery whilst attempting to play a video taken with the camera. Snakes is not playable it crashes out as soon as you actually try to start the game.
I'm wondering how firmware upgrades are peformed with a network like orange? I presume Nokia service centres wouldn't do this because of the altered firmware for the network.
I'm in the UK if it makes a difference.

in case you're referring to the yellow infobar about outdated plugins, change "plugins.hide_infobar_for_outdated_plugin" in about:config to true.
you might also want to use an addon like [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/flashblock/ flashblock] to only enable the flash plugin when you need it (like when you're watching a video on youtube) in order to mitigate the risk while surfing the web,
firefox also won't support the ppc architecture any longer, however if you want to use an up-to-date browser based on firefox you can switch to "tenfourfox" - the downside is, it doesn't support plugins at all: [[Firefox no longer works with Mac OS X 10.4 or PowerPC processors]]

Oracle 11g upgrade: How to update stale statistics for sys and sysman?

I am in the process of testing Oracle 11g upgrade from Oracle 10.2.0.3. I have run utlu111i.sql on the 10g database.
The utility utlu111i.sql reports about the stale statistics for SYS and SYSMAN components.
I executed dbms_stats.gather_dictionary_stats; dbms_stats.gather_schema_stats('SYS'); and dbms_stats.gather_schema_stats('SYSMAN');
After that the utlu111i.sql still reports the stale statistics for sys and sysman. Does anyone know how to get rid off this warning successfully?
