4.1, now ipod app won't work!

Just realised the iPod app on my 3g won't work after the update. It launches to the initial screen, but nothing works, then it crashes to the home screen.
Tried a hard reset, no joy. I'm thinking that a restore via iTunes won't be any use as the last backup was with 4.0.1, but before I try that, anyone any suggestions/experience of this?

Oops, should Google before asking here! Seems it's a common issue, needed to sync to sort it out.

I dont want to upgrade to 3.x but now my apps won't work

Hi. I have an iTouch 32GB with 2.2.1. I'm happy with it the way it is and I see no benefit to upgrading to 3.x OS and paying for it at that.
My problem is the new Facebook app requires 3.x OS on my iTouch. I originally had the previous version, but I suppose iTunes upgraded my Facebook app automatically (?? - totally guessing about that but it now requires 3.x).
There are a number of other apps that now won't sync because of my OS.
Is there any way to fix this? I'd really like the old Facebook App back...

If the App now requires OS 3.0 and you want to use it, then surely it has features that you want to use, doesn't it?
Either the developer believes that OS 3.0 allows them to introduce features that improve their App (whether you use them or not), or (less likey but still possible) they use OS 3.0 to to fix a bug and I'd rather have an App with a feature that causes it to _not crash_ than to crash!
It's not as if the upgrade to OS 3.0 costs that much. It's called progress and if we didn't have progress, then there would be no iPod!

Installed latest update, and now ipod touch won't work

Hello, I clicked on the download and install option for the latest update to my ipod touch. I think it was 2.2.1, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, now I have to hold the power button down several seconds, and I see the apple logo, and then the itunes icon with the USB plug which indicates I need to connect to itunes. When I plug it in to the pc, I get prompted that I have installed new hardware and need to install the device drivers. It is not recognized by itunes or my pc. Please help!!

Hello, all, my ipod touch is now working. Here's what happened...I called the tech support line and started going through the automated stuff. It started me with the reset which I had done numerous time. It then mentioned trying a different USB port. I figured it was a waste of time, but then I decided what the heck, so I tried the other usb port on the front of my pc. When I did this, it recognized the ipod in ituned and gave me a mssg that it needed to be restored. I clicked on the restore link, and minutes later it gave me an error message on the restore, and the ipod showed the apple on the sreen instead of the itunes logo with the usb cord. I then tried it back in the original usb port, and received the same windows prompt to try to install drivers that I had been getting all along. I put it back in the second USB port, and got the restore message again with it being recognized in itunes. This time it successfully completed the restore. I know it sounds simple, but if you have not tried a different USB port, be sure you do. Maybe the download jacked up my USB port? Anyway, I'm working again with the 2.2.1 download. Update 7.0.3 installed now email app won't work on iPhone 4s or iPad 2.

I updated my iPhone 4s and my iPad 2 with 7.0.3 and now I can't get my email app to work. It always comes up with "Cannot get mail. The connection to the server failed." However, if I use safari to get my mail, I can. Any advice or is this a new bug?

I have the 5S and iPad 2. Similar issue to the above posters. Updated 5S to IOS 7.0.3 now can't use my exchange account. Can still use my hotmail and gmail but getting 'Cannot get mail. Connection to the server failed' for Exchange. Can still use iPad for this exchange account however this is on an older version - iOS 7.0 I believe so it's not a server or permissions problem - it's localised to the 5S on 7.0.3. Hopefully a bug or a fix will be released soon. Any help would be appreciated

Installed snow leopard now FCS2 apps won't work

I just upgraded to snow leopard and yes I know, it's about time, but this is why I don't upgrade unless I have too:-) Now, only FCP works and all other apps that I've tried (DVD studio pro, livetype, motion) "unexpectedly quit" as soon as I try to do "save as". I can type text into them but changing text color in Livetype causes the crash.
I've done a clean install of FCS2 and repaired permissions to no avail. I've tried searching for answers here and at google as I thought this would have been solved long ago but maybe I'm just not using the correct search terms as nothing helpful has been found.

One more question about the instructions—it says to copy older prokit.framework file to /system/library/privateframeworks, overwriting the newer one, but the files I downloaded are .dmg files, am I just supposed to install them and consider the file "overwritten"?

What system version were you running before you updated to 10.9.4? Another 10.9.x or something earlier?
What version of Office? 2004, 2008, or 2011?
Were you aware that Office 2004 does not run on recent versions of the system?
When you say your USB ports do not work, on what are you determining that?
Were you aware that Mavericks does not display external disk volumes by default?

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Open Activity Monitor by searching it in spotlight.
Go to the app that you downloaded & quit it. If it won't quit then Force Quit.

File a complaint with Apple for not giving adequate warning before upgrading OS X that it would render PPC programs dead.
That someone at Apple said requiring the iPhone 5 to have 10.8 (10.6.8 is the minimum actually) and in order to remain a loyal Apple customer they need to fix this mess and revert your machine and software back to 10.6.8
You see, 10.6.8 would have ran your iPhone 5 and ran your PPC based software, so whoever told you to upgrade to 10.8 was wrong and they need to fix your machine.
It can be reverted to 10.6.8 yourself.

Ever since yesterday, my Ipod apps won't open properly. I googled it, and couldn't find anything accurate. So i deleted all of the apps, and re-downloaded them. Now they're doing it again. When i tap on it, it looks like it wants to open, but then it goes back to the main menu. I googled it again, and got an answer saying to go to Itunes, uncheck the "sync apps" box, and sync. Then after that, recheck the box, and sync again. Many people said this worked, but it didn't for me. Also whenI go to sync my apps, they don't show up in Itunes. How do I get them to show up in Itunes?

I had the same issue. After searching around online I found out that you can try downloading another app (it can be any app) onto your ipod. After it finishes downloading see if your other apps open. You don't even have to keep the new app. Just see if your other ones work and you can delete the new one. That should work. If not, try to hard reset it.
