4.1 SP4 Import BIAR File and change connection information

Hi experts,
I have generated an LCMBIAR (contains Dashboard and Webi, Universe) in our current system landscape and we are trying to move this BIAR file to another system. However if we are to import this biar file into another system that is not connected to our current system landscape we need to be able to configure the DB connection information to point to new system DB. Is it possible to change the connection information for the universe when you importing the BIAR file, if yes, could you please give me the STEP by STEP instructions.

I am pretty new to Final Cut Pro and have just approached my first project.

I needed some space on the camera so halfway through a holiday i transfered all the video files from the camera to my Laptop.
I have imported these files from the hardrive
Vid rate - 25 fps
compressor - H.264
Pixel Aspect - PAL - CCIR 601
What seems to be the problem is ok when i drag the clip from the viewer to the canvas and apply insert, i get the box that says 'Change Sequence settings to match the clip settings?
i click yes and when the clip is layed out on the timeline there is a red line above the timeline, when i play the clip i only get bleeps as audio and not the original sound.
If i drag the playhead i can hear the audio but if i try to play all i hear us bleeps plus if i import an mp3 the red line appears above the timeline and the same applies
can anyone help me here.

many thanks for your reply, i have contacted Apple and taking your advice and using compressor i have converted the codec H.264 to Apple Pro Res 422 for interlaced material.
I have imported this file and when i drag once again from the viewer to canvas i get the standard box asking to change the sequence to match the clip.
I am still getting the red line above the timeline and bleeping as audio.

Import biar file with command line

I am trying to import biar file with command line on unix environment with BOXI R3.1 and Oracle DB
The biar file include one universe and it's connection (eFashion), one report and one user
when I run the command line:
java -jar /BO/boxi/bobje/java/lib/biarengine.jar /BO/boxi/test.properties
I recive the following error:
Failed to commit objects to server : Undefined Info Store error
An error occurred at the server during security batch commit:
Request 6 of type 36 failed with server error : Object not found (1433)
Request 11 of type 36 failed with server error : Object not found (1433)
Request 20 of type 38 failed with server error : Object not found (1433)
Request 26 of type 38 failed with server error : Object not found (1433)

I found out after I create a biar file ,with only the user, through a command line. that the user did import since it was in a concurrent connectiontype , a type that not exit in the target environment.
But after I fix this in the source environment and saw that a biar file with only the user is loaded , I recreate the biar file with all the objects as before (user, universe, report , folder) and I still got the same error message as before.
So now I try to create the biar file with all those object through the command line. and I get a new errer message "Required dependencies not found on target system : '[AZK_.9sbf_lMgdQRpsbZfVw]"
I check it , and understand that the object is the report , but I do not see what missing..... : (
Those are the quries in the properties file:

My iWeb image names are incompatible with FTP servers and must be renamed but I can't find the images in iWeb. I can upload to a desktop file and change them there but then I would need to download them to a new site in iWeb to publish them.

Many thanks to responded to my question and sorry not to get back sooner.
Yes, I discovered by this unfortunate experience that the names of photos are a serious issue if the site is to ever go to an FTP server. Apple should discuss this carefully in their "manual".
One more question: I uploaded the website to a folder on my desktop. When I open it, unlike the photos in iWeb, there are folders for each page which have all the photos in them. I went through each folder and changed the names to be FTP compatible. I'm using iWeb SEO Tool which allows one to upload from this local folder to an FTP server but having trouble.
Is this because there is an imbedment in iWeb that uses the old photo names to link to the actual photos and it can't find them because of the name changes?

Now i know that you can do that with startup shim DLL.
I got sample project for the startup shim but I am not good in c++ programming.
Has somebody example code for import of ini file and reg file.

Determining and Changing Connections - Developer 1.5.1

I keep the script I'm developing on my hard drive. When I open it I don't know which connection it's using.
Is there a way to determine and change connections?

Import biar file on UNIX

I have a problem on import of a biar file on BOXI R2 SP4 on unix machine (solaris 10).
The import is done via command line, when I get the error message: "[InstallEntSdkWrapper.CmsImportFile] Exception: CE SDK Exception occurred : 'An error occurred at the server : Cannot find the user, group or object 10950."
The biar file contain a link universe, when the main universe is already exist on the UNIX machine
The biar file is created in a window server 2003 environment, where a BOXI R2 SP3 is installed
I can tell that we already imported, the main universe and a "fixes universes" of that main universe, several times without problems
Anyone have an idea what is the problem and what can be done?

I already check the numbers (The object number is changing in each time I try to import the link universe.), one the developer side (windows). And one time he show me that the object is a report the related to the main universe, but all the rest of the time objects numbers that the error message shoe, did not have any object attached (the query did have result)
Regarding the way I am creating the biar file through the Import Wizard, I choose u201CImport the universes and connections that selected Web Intelligence and u2026u201D in that case I see in the next step that the link universe is chosen with out the main BUT in the end of the steps the wizard show that two universes are collected.
Do you think I need to choose the main universe also? Will it not affect the performances of the reports that already installed on the UNIX with the main universe?

Is it possible to backup my work done in Lightroom 4 to include my original cr2 files and changes?

I want to transfer some of my older work to an external hard drive, but I don't want to lose all the adjustments I made and would almost like to be able to pick up where I left off in the event I want to come back and continue to process images more or delete previous changes, etc. Is this possible? If so, how do I export to include all the files I would need to do this? I've read about cr2 files and their sidecars, xmp files, but I'm not sure if this is what I'm looking for. Also, how do you bring back in these cr2 files with an xmp? Does Lightroom automatically read the xmp files and apply them to the appropriate cr2 file? They both would have to be imported at the same time? Thanks!

It seems to me that 'Export as catalog' is what you are looking for.
After selecting the pictures you want to export, select 'File' -> 'Export as catalog'. There are several options to choose from, such as whether to include the actual files (cr2 in your case) which is what you want to do and whether to include the preview files. You can also indicate where to save the new catalog, so you can indicate the external drive you intend to use.
You will end up with a new catalog containing your selected files and all adjustments you have made to them. You will not have to worry about the xmp sidecars, this will be taken care of by Lightroom.

Imported source file name changed for the external table

I have external table from flat file. Now the source file name is changed. I can change the file location to point to the new file name, but I can't update the source for the flat file property(as seen under flat file properties,structure tab. the column "Sampled From"). Is there way to have this update without having to import the file using the new file name again?

In the Files section in the object navigator find the flat file you want to change the source of.
Double click on the actual file, and on the General tab change the old file name to the new one.
The fact that it has been sampled from a different file should not 'disturb' the working of the external table.
However, if the structure of the new file is different I'd suggest to resample.

Importing CSV file and parsing it

First of all I am very new to writing powershell code. Therefore, my question could be very rudimentary, but I cannot find an answer, so please help.
I'm trying to read a CSV file and parse it. I cannot figure out how to access nth element without hardcoding its name.
$data = Import-Csv $file #import CSV file
# read column headers (manually read the first row of the data file, or import it from other source, or ...)
$file_dump = Get-Content $file #OK, I'm sure there is another way to get just the first line, but that's not relevant
$name_list = $file_dump[0].split(",")

So you're asking how to get the first data point from the first column, no matter what the header is?
Why won't you know what your input file looks like?
You can always drop the first line of the file to remove the existing headers and then use the -Header parameter of Import-Csv to give yourself known headers to reference (this will only work if you know how many columns to expect, etc etc etc).

'Import file parsing exception' while importing BIAR file

Hi All,
We use Java WebServices SDK for integrating our product with Business Objects. For installing the reports we use the InstallEntSDKWrapper jar to copy the BIAR file containing the reports on to the BO server. Till now we were using BO XI R2 and everything works fine.
But now we have decided to upgrade to BO 3.0 and the reports install no longer works. Here is the error that we get -
[InstallEntSdkWrapper.main] Connecting to CMS rwc-1950-120:6400 as administrator
[InstallEntSdkWrapper.CmsImportFile] Exception: Import file parsing exception
curred : 'Type info incomplete'
[InstallEntSdkWrapper.main] BIAR File could not be imported
Any idea what might be going wrong here? We are trying to import the same BIAR file that were created with the earlier BO version to the 3.0 version server. Couple of questions that I have is -
1. Do we need to repackage the BIAR with 3.0 before attempting to install it? Are there any issues with trying to install a BIAR which is of older BO version?
2. Do we need to add/modify any library (jar) in the runtime to get rid of the exception?

Getting error message on import that says can't import jpeg files and won't import

why can't I import from the camera that I always use with my iPhoto? On connecting the camera, error message says "can't import jpeg files." None of my camera settings have changed. Is it a problem of connectivity with old camera and new iPhoto '11?

Not an old camera problem - most likely a memory card format problem - when was the last time you reformated yoru card?
What camera do you have? Does image capture work?

Importing Excel Files and Formatting Issues

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. When in doubt, post in the forum! Anyway, I am using java via ODBC to connect to an excel file to extract some info from it, using SQL statements. Everything can be extracted without any problems, however, Excel keeps pi$$ing me off by changing the format of the cell data.
Firstly, I highlight every cell in my Excel file and format it as "Text."
Then I extract the cell info by using a ResultSet and getting a String (even for numeric data - ResultSet.getString(...))
What is getting on my nerves is that not only does it not extract numeric values followed by a string, when it does extract numeric values, it is adding a ".0" after the value.
For example, if the cell value is 123, it will return 123.0
If the cell value is 123SHOE, it returns null
Furthemore, when editing the Excel file, after having every cell formatted as "Text," if I enter a number, say, as a zipcode, 123450000, it brings up an error! But the very definition of "Text" states that "Text format cells are treated as text even when a number is in the cell."
The moral of the story is, I want to convert all data in the Excel file to "Text" and when extracting data from the file, I need to be able to extract numbers, numbers followed by characters, and everything else.
Any suggestions?

Hey Dr. Clap, quick question for ya. I was checking out the Apache POI you recommended. More specifically HSSF. I noticed in the documentation that "String cells cannot conatin numbers and numeric cells cannot contain strings." Unfortunately, this is not going to work well with my app as some of the primary keys (I use the term loosely) are Strings which contain numbers. My main problem is that my app wont recognize the Strings containing numbers, so it returns null, and Excel is chopping off the leading zeroes and is popping up with an error because numbers are in the String. However, as I stated before, Excel notes that text cells can contain numbers!
FYI, I am using Pervasive SQL to extract a given list of users in a DB (which I dont want to connect to directly) and am saving that generated query (list of users) into a text file. I then open the text file in Excel which parses it correctly and assigns the cells the correct values. So I don't think I can format the cells as text because I am importing the file I generate. I love doing things ass backwards :) Another reason I am using Excel files is so anyone can use the software so long as they have an Excel file with the appropriate columns within the file.

Hi, I'm trying to create a search and solve function within Visual Basic.
I want to use the combustion equation C8H18 + 20(O2 + 3.76 N2) = 8 CO2 + 9H20 + 47 N2 to determine flame temperature using
9*Hf of C02 + 8 * Hf H20 + 47 Hf N2 = Hf C8H18
I have all of the values of Hf in an excel spreadsheet but I want to be able to search the spreadsheet as my application requires the user to change to fuel (the C8H18 bit) which changes the value of Hf.
Is there a way of searching that excel file each time I run my program?

This will be used as a student learning aid and so the application itself and the tables will be downloaded as a zip file and so I don't believe the line below would work?
I've heard about including excel as a reference file in the application but I haven't been able to find any further information on that.
