4.1 update took 5,2 GB

Anyone else that seen this? When I updated my iPhone from 4.0.1 to 4.1 I lost 5,2GB of free space. Where has this gone?? Help!

ITunes 9.2 update took away many of titles music still here

I just updated iTunes to 9.2 on Windows XP and many rows of information are missing and the names of playlists and such are gone. The music is still here. I am afraid to shut it down in case the music goes too. There are what looks like Aztec symbols with arrow in them where the titles are missing. Can someone help me

Make sure there is sufficient space on the startup disk. Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.*

Acrobat Pro 9.4.6 update took away ability to print

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue. I am running Windows 7 platform 64 bit and recently installed the new update 9.4.6 for Acrobat Pro. It has stopped all printing functions for PDF files. I don't get an error and it doesn't show a print dialogue box. Any ideas or help?

Help! the 5.1 iPhone update took away my wifi syncing ability.

I've spent hours trying all the suggestions and still my device is not staying on the iTunes app. I have the Mac OS X 7.3 system and could use some advice to fix this. Ive litterally tried all the options possible

i have this problem too! After i update to ios 5.1.1, my ipod touch won't charge anymore. Well, kind of. my ipod battery is on low power. when i plug it in, it shows a pic. of a battery and a lightning bolt. but when it has enough power to show the lock screen, it not charging anymore and itunes wont detect it! i think this is a bug in ios 5.1.1 but how are they gonna fix it for me if they release an update and i cant update to it because my ipod's on low power??????

Trouble with the IMS since the latest update took place

Since the latest Firefox update, approximately 3 weeks ago, I can not receive chats from friends. I can send them a chat, but if they try to send me one when I am not online, I never get it. Plus, when I do go into IMS, 2 blocks come up. I have to delete one. Then the other one has a line I can enter the person's name that I want to chat with.

I restarted and it works!!! I held the home button and the lock button until the apple appeared. All is good in the world again!

New update took away sound and video tops after 11 sec

Today 4.8.2012 i installed new update and after that i lost all sound on flash and youtube and other flash videos frozes after 11 sec.
Yesterday everything work perfectly.
My version is 11,3,31,222
I have windows 7(32bit)
and i am using chrome.
Any ideas?

just make sure you get the latest version of flash. There's two flash installers one for Internet Explorer (or activex) and One for Other Browsers(Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.) (latest version:11.3.300.268 for both). Chrome doesn't normally allow you by default to install the flash player separately because the flash player plugin is built-in for Chrome (latest version is 11.3.300.265 for Chrome), and go under tools menu on Chrome of course to see if your chrome browser is up to date to get the latest Chrome flash player plug-in. If getting flash plugin for Chrome 11.3.300.265 doesn't fix the chrome problem. you can actually disable the chrome flash player plugin, and Chrome automatically uses the Flash for Other Browsers plugin.

On Firefox, was the Flash video playback really choppy/laggy or were you referring to the audio playback being choppy/laggy?
Also, what type of motherboard model or what's the model of the PC are you using so I can look at the specs?

IOS 6.1.4 update for iPhone 5?

I'm not understanding why the ios update which clearly states audio profile for speaker phone isn't allowed on the iphone 4 only the iphone 5. The last update screwed up the speakers on the iphone 4. So why would the update only be for the 5 when the 5 was not even out when this update took place and ruined the speakers? Can someone please make sence of this for me?

It obviously is because you didnt understand. The iphone 4's last update to IOS 6.1.3 in some cases caused the phones speakers to not work (in which this happened to mine and a few people I know) which some people got rid of their phones. HENCE the AUDIO UPDATE that they recently posted but only iPhone 5 can download the update. That is my problem. I have alot of apple products diesel vdub and have had apple for a long time but I can't seem to understand why they would do this and I posted this in hopes to find more people that have had this issue and if they did anything to help fix it this issue. Thank you for your concern though.

IMac EFI update problems

My Mid 2011 iMac 27" i7 will no longer start after the latest EFI update.
I decided to perform some system updated on my iMac and after installing 10.7.3, I rechecked and it found the EFI update and one other update. They were both pretty small (the largest was 3.6MB), so I decided to proceed prior to getting back to business with my system.
After downloading the updates (took about 5 seconds), the machine proceeded to restart. There was a loud beep prior to the system restart chime after which it went to the grey-white apple startup screen with the spinning wheel.
And it stayed there.
After 35 minutes with no discernable progress, I decided something must be wrong. This system normally takes about 30 seconds to boot from a cold state (it's running on an OWC SSD) or maybe a minute after updates. So I held the power button to reboot. But it keeps going to the same state. I tried to reboot to a different internal drive holding the option key, but the same thing happens.
System Specs:
iMac 27" i7 3.4 Ghz (mid 2011) 12G Ram
Internal 1TB Apple HD
Internal OWC SSD 240G (main startup drive)
Here are my questions:
1. How do I recover from this?
2. Is anyone else running into this problem?
3. How long do the EFI updates normally take?
4. Shouldn't there be some sort of "progress bar" to indicate something is going on during this process? Or, if not, then perhaps a "WARNING!! This process will take up to two hours, during which you will receive no discernable feedback. Do not interrupt the process until more than 24 hours have passed with the spinning ball."

P.S. I think this is my last iMac EFI update. After my last iMac received an EFI update (2009 model 24" iMac), it became ultra-flakey and started corrupting HD's. It never worked the same after that. This machine was working PERFECTLY before the update.

I don't have the link to that thread, but here is how to do it:
To reset the SMC:
Shut down your system.
Unplug all the accessories from the system
Unplug the power cord from the iMac and leave it unplugged for at least 15 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord. Wait another fifteen seconds and restart the computer.
To Reset the PRAM:
On startup, hold down these keys at the same time (must start before the grey screen comes up): command option p r

IOS4 update = lost contacts, apps crash and cannot sync my music need help

I like many had no problems with updating in the past. I even enjoyed the days off an update just to get to grips with new features. This experience has been abolished with the IOS4. I’ve had my 3G for just over a year (just). I came to update to the IOS4. The update took a long time but I got there in the end. However when iTunes sync came into play is where Im having problems my apps moved across no problems but then I got iTunes couldn’t back up my iPhone because the computer wouldn’t allow. I googled this and came to apples support guide on the matter. which was just delete the back up file in preferences (before I did this I did get a text from someone I know but his name wasn’t coming up just the number I feared then Id lost my contacts) so I did delete my back up. but then the next problem was iTunes couldn’t backup because of an unknown error (-20) (I’ve researched this unknown error and I can’t find anything on it) so I restored the software on iTunes and still I get this error
so now Im left with a iPhone with no music, no contacts, no saved app data even apps crash on start. I read on softpedia (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Apple-Knew-iPhone-3G-Owners-Would-Run-Into-iOS-4- Upgrade-Problems-Customer-Claims-145332.shtml) that an apple employee suggested that apple knew this was going to be a problem and there will be a fix at a later date after the iphone4 and IOS4 rollout and either to wait for this, or buy an iphone 4. To simply buy an iPhone 4 is not an option I bought my phone outright on a payandgo and Im disgusted that an apple employee can even suggest that. now that I know Im not alone on this I want to know just what apple are going to do to fix this asap (for the money I paid I could off got a decent laptop with Skype) I expect and demand a resolution to my problem that isn’t going to cost me more time and money than it already has.

just an update,
after reading that some people who are contacting customer support were having some success in fix/getting the iphone replaced. I decided to do the same after going through some testing with the customer care assistant. he told me that I should uninstall itunes and other apple software and reinstall itunes.
uninstall itunes, quicktime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, Apple Application Support in that order
it didnt help me but I have now a referance number and I have to ring back tomorrow. the funny thing was that when the customer support guy was putting me on hold to find this resolution he told me that 'this is strange because we have not had this problem or any problems with our update on this phone'.........
I corrected the man and told him 'well, with respect if you was to go on your support forum you will find page after page of people with similar problems not getting answered'
and now im seeing people are having problems with the iphone4 lmfao

Standby doesn't work anymore since updating to v5.0.0.1036 & lock keyboard works differently

I updated my Blackberry 8900 Curve over the weekend to
v5.0.0.1036(Platform 5.2.0.104) Provider is Vodafone.de
This updated was offered when connecting my device to BlackBerry Desktop Application.
After this update successfully took place I discovered the problem that the upper top right button (usually used to mute) does not send my device to standby anymore when being pressed longer than 3 seconds.
This function worked perfectly prior to this update. Unfortunately I did not know on what version I was before, but as I`m doing updates on a more of less regular base I assume it was the prior available one.
Together with this problem I discovered something that is also working different than before.
When I press the keyboard lock button (upper top left button) the lock now gets activated directly and
the screen turns black. Before this update took place the owner details were showing up when pressing this button and the screen turns dark after the defined time to go off.
The owner details are added correctly and show up when going to properties-owner.
I did a secure delete (security options - security delete) of the device and started from scratch twice already, but the problem remains the same.
Is there any way to get at least the standby working again.
I´m using an case-mate holster with build in battery allow me to recharge my BB when no power plug is avail. Unfortunately this one does not have a magnet that send the device to standby automatically when plugged into the holster, so this manual standby option is important for me to
extend battery life.

This is working as designed with the new upgraded operating system you installed. There is not an option to change it back, only to downgrade your operating system back to the version you had installed previously.
If you want to lock the screen, you will need to set a password on the device.

XFCE Keyboard Layout applet not working after latest xorg update..

Is this a bug in the xorg update or most the kbd layou be reompiled or? I am not able to swtich between my two kbd layouts anymore.. Downgrading the org packages made it work again but I guess that's not a long term solution...

I have a recent experience that sounds related to your problem - I have a 15" macbook pro bought new in the UK a couple of years ago (macbookpro 5,3), which has been running perfectly under snow leopard until a couple of days ago when my trackpad stopped recognising the standard "left" click.
"Right" click, scroll and pointer movement continued to work fine.
Booting in safe mode seemed to give me back the left click but this was immediately lost when I returned to standard boot up.
Doing a full reinstall from original disks, all seemed fine. Over 1.6Gb of software updates and everything worked great. Then the final run of S/W update took me from os-x 10.6.6 to 10.6.7 plus a few other changes and again the trackpad stopped recognising "left" click.
Plugging in an external drive which had a copy of my system as at OS-X 10.6.3 and booting off that - everything works fine again.
I can only conclude that there's an issue with the 10.6.7 upgrade and my 2 year old MBP hardware so will have to reinstall yet again but stop at 10.6.6
My concern is that after the first upgrade to 10.6.7 I put the laptop on charge to top it up from about 70% and came back to find the machine abnormally hot. With your comment about toasting the logic board, I wonder if there's a bug in the power control software too which I was lucky enough to catch before my machine suffered the same damage as yours ?

IPhone 4 update to iOS 5 lost my contacts & alphabet tabs

The whole updateing tooked 8 hours, all my friends told me that the update should last only 45 mins to 1 hour. My computer made a backup and after the update, it loaded the backup to my iPhone. Everything else went perfect but all of my contacts vanished. I heard that I should have had Outlook in use, so iTunes could have used Outlook for the contact back up. I have Windows Mail in my computer but I don't use it. My friends who had updated also their iPhone 4 to ios 5 told me that they neither have the Outlook, but the contacts came back perfectly with the back up. So why the update lost my contacts?
I know it's not possible to get them back anymore, but I also noticed that before the update there were A B C D E .. -tabs in my contact application. Now they are missing! I want the tabs back, how can I get them back? When I feed new contacts into the application, the names are all under each other and if I want to find a contact with the letter V, I have to scroll down all the other contacts to find finally the names starting with V. Before the update I could just press the V tab on right side of the screen.
I have allready done the manufacturer settings back and then up loaded the back up again. It didn't help. I have also added the contacts into iCloud, the names still doesn't go under the correct letter, the tabs are in iCloud but why doesn't it use them? They are in mode "all contacts".
Please can anyone tell me how to get the tabs back! Thank you!

Cant restore after installing updates how do I change the home user/account

I installed 3 updates, opps, this morning, and when I restarted the computer it had reverted back to old setting from 2004. I purchased the computer from a friend, and had worked hard to remove his stuff, now my settings mail etc are gone and the old stuff is back. How do I restore the computer to what it was before the updates took it all off? also how do I change the home from his back to ours? sorry, I am new at this and very very frustrated with the mac so far.

Changing the home folder name caused the problems, not the updates. The problems won't show up until you restart, which, in your case, was just

When you get a used computer, it is safest to erase the disk (with zeroing option), then reinstall OSX, update it, and get the latest versions of all the software you need. You should also run Extended Tests from the Apple Hardware Test disc to be sure there are no hardware problems.

I shut down new update in middle-now I have nothing

Well I got up this morning to an update that said it would take 10 mins. So an hr later I still see it circling, I thought it was frozen. I couldnt power down or anything, so I pulled battery.
Apparently some update took place as the new home screen is there but everything else, contacts, emails, sync, all that is gone and most icons I touch they hold and come back asking if I want to wait. I went to - about phone -system updates - but it just sits there looking and has been for 20 mins.
Any help? I go out of town for a week for work tomorrow and Im married to this phone.

Have you tried clearing the phone cache? That's highly recommended after an OS update.
