4.1EA2 Instance Viewer - waiting ..........

Hello,
I just downloaded EA2 with JDK included (sqldeveloper-4.1.0.18.37-x64.zip).
When I try to open the instance viewer as described in http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2014/12/sql-developer-4-1-instance-viewer/ I only get "Warten auf die Initialisierung des Editors" (Waiting for initialisation of the editor). The user has SELECT ANY DIRECTORY granted directly, not via role.

Esb instances execute fine, but are delayed in esb instances view

when executing esb processes the instances are executing fine, and responding as expected.
But when trying to investigate in esb instances view there are no instances shown.
Only old instances.
It seems like the instances view (and esb_activity table) are days behind in logging of instances.
What could be the cause for this.
I can see the esb monitoring topic performance says:

Actually this is a known bug, and a patch is available, patch 9537174.

Bug 10090909: EXTREMELY LOW MESSAGE DEQUEUE RATE WHEN MANY MESSAGES IN ESB_RELATION_XML
When posting messages to ESB, when there is a certain, high number of rows in the ESB_RELATION_XML table, the dequeue rate from AQ$_ESB_MONITOR_I and ESB_MONITOR decreases dramatically.
A number of tests were run. During some, for example, if there were up to a few thousand rows in ESB_RELATION_XML, the dequeue rate was high, probably around 10s or 100s of rows being dequeued per
second. With about 100000 rows in ESB_RELATION_XML, the dequeue rate decreased to around 1 message per second or slower. In the customer's case, where they have a throughput of millions of messages,
the dequeue rate drops to about *30 seconds for 1 message*. Decompilation of the code show a possible cause related to full table scans.

Report instance view runs slow

I am just starting to migrate Crystal reports into BOE XI R3, using the CMC to add the reports from the file system. With each new report, I create a recurring schedule and a run-now instance.
The first four reports performed well. The fifth seemed to hang the browser when viewed. I eventually found the process (View Latest Instance or view from History) would complete in about 15 minutes. At about 12 minutes, IE generates a message:
A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?
The CMC/browser status line shows it is trying to open crystalreportviewers / htmlbridge.jsp.
The instance takes about 1 minute to run in the CMC. The report uses about 60,000 records and produces about 4,500 pages.
In Crystal Enterprise 9, our current platform, the same instance is viewable in 2-3 seconds.
The first four reports migrated to XI3 run in less than a minute and are viewable in 5-6 seconds, have from 120 to 6,400 pages, and use the same dataset.
Not seeing any significant differences between the quicker and slower reports, I'm at a loss as to where BOE is failing. I'd appreciate some thoughts. Thanks!

If your looking for way to improve performance for the infoview please review 1292411 - How to Improve the performance of Infoview in XI R3. Below is the resolution from that SAP note. I hope this resolves your issue.
Enable browser caching
Backup the exising web.xml <deploymant folder>\InfoViewApp\WEB-INF\web.xml (where deployment folder is the location the applications that have been deployed in your environment)
Open the web.xml file and search for the text :
<init-param>
<param-name>nocache</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</init-param>
modify the line <param-value>true</param-value> to <param-value>false</param-value>
save the file
restart your web application server
If you are using Secure Sockets Layer on Tomcat Application server then follow these instructions
Backup the exising context.xml <path to>\tomcat\conf\context.xml (where path to is the location where tomcat is installed)
Open the context.xml file and add the text:

save the file

Pbs with instances views

I have an entity object (Person) designed from a table person with a primary key associated to a sequence table.
In the data model of my module application, i have two instances of the view object PersonView. So, in Data Controls, i have PersonView1 and PersonView2.
In a page, i have one creation form for PersonView1 and one creation form for PersonView2.
So i don't know why the two creation forms work on the same instance and not on two differents instances like i would ! In fact, when i press the submit button of anyone creation form, the input fields of the two differents forms reflect the same values!!!

VO are pointers to RowSets. If you do a change to one then this change is reflected in the other if they are both in the same session. However, I can't reproduce what you say because unless you re-query a VO (or hit rollback) the two stay independent

Any way to eliminate quicktime logo appearing as viewer waits for download?

When I make a slideshow in iWeb, it works fine except it puts a huge quicktime logo in a viewer's window until the slideshow downloads. I want to have the slideshow appear and disappear without that distraction. Hope I am being clear.
Is it possible to eliminate the quicktime logo while files are downloading?

iWeb writes page code that uses the QuickTime browser plug-in. It "hides" much of that code inside javascript files.
Javascript (.js) files can be edited in any plain text editor like TextEdit. For an average user they can be quite daunting. The page code you want to look to edit contains:
SHOWLOGO=value (Optional... requires QuickTime 7.1 or later)
SHOWLOGO can either be set to TRUE or FALSE. The default is TRUE. When set to FALSE, this attribute prevents the "Q" logo from displaying in the plug-in when a movie is loading.
Since the default value is true the showlogo tag doesn't even have to be in the javascript code and you would have to enter it by hand (showlogo="false").
A better way to eliminate the big blue Q is to have a "fast start" QuickTime file. Check the QuickTime Discussions pages for more answers.

Any ideas what the Java error relates to ?

Switch Process view to instance overview (end to end monitoring)?

In my end to end monitoring, by defaut I can see the process Overview objects.
If I want to switch to the instance view , the system doesn´t allow me to perform such this action.
Some authorizations are needed ? Do I have to configure something ?

Urgent: cannot start the shadow instance at phase STARTSAP_TRANS

We are upgrading to NW2004s (ABAP only) from 640.
How to re-start the shadow instance?
At this point, anyway we cannot start the shadow instance.
At SAPMMC, the disp+work
1) first show "running but the dialog queue standstill"
2) then show" running but not connected to the message server"
3) then the disp+work dies.
Above happens in 1 minute after re-start.

Error in KMC installation. waiting 1800 seconds at 2nd phase and errors out

I am installing KMC and on 2nd phase "Deploy Content Mangement and Collaboration Components " it hangs stating
Portal Configuration upgrade (66 of 69 done.0 with warning Time elapsed
<Number> seconds. waiting....... ".
Note 779699 referred. In the file cf_installation.report there are no
two lines. it has only one line. Please help..

Hi Tony,
you should adjust the timeout parameters and do a redeployment again, in order to fix this problem.
Have you checked the two SAPNotes mentioned in your note (779699): Note: 769859 (About the parameter: PingReplyTimeout)
and Note: 752049 (About the parameter: AdditionalLoadTimeOut)???
You might experience problems seeing the second Note so I paste the important paragraph here:
a) ATTENTION : Duration of configmerge
By starting the engine after deployment a CM configmerge is initiated as part of the upgrade
process.
Depending on the hardware the configmerge may take 15min up to 2h.
Do NOT restart the servlet engine before you're absolutely sure that the config merge has
finished.
Wait till the portal is back on its own.
View the status of the configmerge in the latest config.*.trc file, located in
..usrsap<j2ee instance>clusterserver.
The status of the merge process is also written to the error.log available under:
..usrsap<j2ee instance>clusterservermanagerconsole_logs
Wait for this entry in processing the upgrade 41 out of 41 : "The upload sequence is now
complete, all the upgrades have been performed."
b) ATTENTION : Beware of Timeout definition for SAP J2EE
Be sure that the J2EE engine is not stopped due to a timeout definition during the merge.
This would cause an undefined status of the system. Toavoid this, set parameter
AdditionalLoadTimeout=10800 (in seconds) to an appropiate value for that upgrade
(..usrsapxxj2eej2ee_00 clusterservermanagerssettingsServiceManager.properties).
Additional timeout parameter since J2EE PL 22
This AdditionalLoadTimeout parameter needs also to be set in ServiceManager.properties
for state (..usrsapxxj2eej2ee_00 clusterstatemanagerssettingsServiceManager.properties).
The configtool can also be used for checking and setting these parameters.
If server node is started by the r3startup service of the dispatcher
Set the r3startup to manual and call any "go" directly.
Troubleshooting a timeout
If run already into timeout and stucked on certain stage of config- merge it's usually
sufficient to adjust timeout parameters and choose SDM option 'Redeploy' and do another
deploymenent and subsequent configmerge, normaly this keeps the system in a valid state.

ALE for moving Qualification groups & Qualifications has been done,
And I can use our qualifications with candidates or requisitions,
My issue here is Qualification group (QK) not displayed on a hierarchy view as displayed on R3,

My case for example, we have only 5 main qualification groups and we have huge number of sub groups, so It comes on E-recruitment view as tap pages , Is there any way to view Qualification groups On a hierarchy view ,

there is not really the possibility to have two different cataloges for internal and external candiates.
In most of the projects I did the customer decided on a standalone scenario for e-recruiting and created an e-recruiting qualification catalog which was much smaller than the one of the personal development on the hr core server. It was used more for a general orientation on a hand full of key language and IT skills. We usually had 2 or 3 QK with perhaps 20 or 30 qualification. Overall the customers tended to not to overrate the technical features of profile comparison between requisition and candidate. They just took the general information and had a look on it in the personal interview with the candidate - the candidates self evaluation is often not very exact ;o).
A possibility which might be interesting for you are the options for the T77S0 switch RECFA HRQUA. Have a look at the description for the IMG node unter E-Recruiting -> Technical Settings -> Set System Parameters. There is one setting that allows to use the full qualification catalog for internal candidates and only the QKs assigned to "SAP_ERECRUITING" for the externals.

Can not query from v$instance and v$session from within Pro*C program

Hi there,
We have Oracle 10.2.0.1 enterprise edition running on Linux (Red Hat 4 ES)
Our Pro*C developer tries to query the version from v$instance view and is getting errors when compiling his Pro*C programs.
The related Oracle user account has the SELECT ANY DICTIONARY privilege, so if he tries from the sqlplus, he has no problem querying the v$instance or v$session views. His problem is when he is trying to compile his Pro*C program against the very same Oracle account.
Any help/input is greatly appreciated.

I issued FULL DB EXPORT / IMPORT privilege to the related Oracle user account and it works now.

How to schedule one instance at a time consecutively

Hi Everyone,
We are at BOXIR3.1 SP5 installed in RHEL and business is looking for below mentioned scheduling option for specific webi reports which are complex and having high volume of data.
Lets say the scenario is if the users schedules the specific webi report concurrently, the report should run only at one instance at a time which means the later submitted reports should wait for the first submitted instance to complete.
Please share your thoughts, comments or any suggestions to the above situation.

If i'm not wrong, this requirement is specific to one single report in your environment and not for all the Webi report.
If that is the case, my suggestion is to fix a schedule based event dependency to that report which will make the next instance to wait for the previous instance to complete and kick off accordingly. (To be frank, i never faced such scenario's but i hope this option will work)..
Create a Schedule based event with Conditiion as "SUCCESS".
Reschedule your report to run every 5 or 10 or 15 mins etc.., with the event dependency (Schedule event which you have created) by passing it on both "Events to trigger on completion:" and "Events to wait for:".
The above condition will kick off the next instance of that report only after the first instance complete successfully. Let me know if it works!!

there are two receivers and 1 send step....
its like receiver1-->receiver2----->send1
when the scenario runs.......it receives a particular message for "receive2".....which i cant provide right now.......so the sxmb_moni shows a waiting status .....means a clock like signal......
how can i stop the BPM instance in waiting loop
is there any time out after which the BPM instance ll stop automatically

How do I setup magazine to view pages consecutively, but print for double sided 11x17?

I have a quarterly newsletter I've begun. I set it up as (8) 11x17 pages with (2) 8-1/2" x 11" page views per 11x17 page, so that when they print double sided, there are consecutive. The problem is that when I am trying to navigate from page to page, they are not consecutive on the screen. Is there a way to set up the pages at 8-1/2" x 11" consecutively in InDesign, but send to printer for two sided 11x17 and have the pages come out in the right place?
Not sure that I am describing properly. For instance viewing an 11x17 page (Page 1 as far as InDesign is concerned), the right half is Page 1, and the left half is page 16; or (page 2 in InDesign) is page 15 on the left side, and page 2 on the right side. This all prints perfectly, but navigating it during layout is extremely cumbersome. Also, printing for general public PDF viewing is impossible.

LOL - That for sure I knew. I just didn't know what to do about it. I checked Acrobat...but I never really noticed that "booklet" option before, and right now the magazine isn't setup right, so I can't tell if it's working. will it know that page 1 and page 16 go on the same side of one 11x17 sheet, and pages 2 and 15 go on the other side of that same page when printing two-sided?

TP4 ADF BC [BUG] view link are not updated after database synchronization

I have a table with a recursive relationship.
By mystake, I created a recursive foreign key for the same attribute (deptid->deptid instead of deptid->parentdeptid).
I generated entity, view and application module from this schema.
When compiling, errors was produced indicating the problem.
I corrected the problem in offline database, generate the changes into the database successfully.
I ask to synchronize the entity with the database, the changes was identified correctly and a new association was created.
First remark: the old one still there and it was necessary to delete it and rename the new generated one (to be consistent with other name). May be an option to overwriting the old one will be more pleasant, may be asking if the new one has to replace an existing one and show a list of existing ones.
Regenerating the association was correct and one error was removed when compiling again. The error on the view link still there.
I would like to delete the assoc and recreate it from the entity assoc but it was not possible easily because the view link is used in the application module !!!!
It will be nice to permit to regenerate an existing view link from an entity association without deleting it.
May be it is a better way to synchronize ? I would be very interesting to know how to achieve it as the best !

Was the inability to have the synchronization remove the key specific to the existing association's being self-referential, or if your initial association was from DeptId to some other attribute (which you then corrected) would the synchronize have fixed the problem?
The simplest way to achieve what you want given existing features would be to have delete the view link instance, view link, and association, follow by resynchronizing (I believe), then recreating the viewlink and adding back the view link instance.
