4.2.1 problem with signal
Hi all,
After the installation of the new software 4.2.1 i got problem with the signal on my 3gs, at the beginning was a little problem but within the last 2/3 weeks i need the shut it down several times to get sms sent or call working.
Wat could i do to solve this problem? this is becoming really annoying.

Also, with proper use of the recovery and black point sliders, I'd think it would be pretty rare to really crank those "Advanced" values.
There's a creative side to this brick that I find goes beyond simple recovery. I admit to using it less now that we have the definition slider, but it still allows for a certain "look" that I can't get with the other controls. For that, I use the advanced settings a lot and this is a problem that is entirely new to 2.1.
The problem seems to only be dependent on the Mid slider - the amount in the Shadow slider doesn't seem to matter at all. Even at 1.0 on the Shadow slider, pushing Mid C creates this effect.
Obviously going back to Black Point Comp can alleviate the problem, but there's a limit that didn't exist before.
I just noticed that playing with Radius affects it as well. Of course all of this is tied to the black levels in the picture but again, it didn't used to be this way.

My iphone 5 has a problem with signal, it always search for network. I had removed and plug sim card again but it doesn't work. Then I restore the iphone, and an exception was throw "... An unknown error has occured (3)."
unknow error 3 means the computer has lost communication with the device during the restore. It can be anything from bad cable, USB port, phone hardware etc.
Since your phone had a signal issue before, it would be your baseband chip faulty and when the restore tries to connect with the baseband chip to check (it does this when you restore) it waits till the chip responds then times out when it doesnt get any response. The restore will try this several times then eventually restart the phone to get out of the loop. As the phone gets restarted (or shutting off) itunes think the phone turned off and throws error 3.
Go to apple if it's under warranty. If not try to find where they do chip replacement as this is not something that you can do yourself. -
Problems with signal level around the house ????

I have had my BT Home HUb 2.0 for just about a month now and after having very little luck with my new laptop which i have replaced twice and am now on my 3rd (Samsung) all working well, i am still having problems with using my laptop with the home hub about my house.
I have strong signal downstairs obviously cause that is where home hub is situated, and it is central to the layout to the house, but if i take my laptop upstairs i have no signal again, i say again as when i first fitted home hub i had good signal upstairs of 3/4 bars. I have tried changing the channel and have found that channel 11 is the one for here.
The only thing i can put it down too is that the other day i tried to get the router set up no more than 5 feet from where it is now as i am also trying to get my old pc tower to work from it too (pc tower has no internal wireless card so have a wireless adapter) but signal again is very poor, since i tried that and also laptop has manufacterer update for a new driver to be installed which i installed which was for the wireless facility on laptop ( which since i have done a system restore ), since all of this i have struggled to get strong signall all around the house only in fromt room as hub is situated in hallway next to front room.
Please help, as i am not having very muchg luck ???

I had a problem last year with my car remote transmitter not working unless within a few inches of the drivers window.
Using a radio scanner, I found a signal on the same frequency that my remote uses.
After eliminating all other possabilities, including total power down of our house to eliminate ANY of our equipment, I contacted Ofcom http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/inter/intbr/ and made a formal complaint.
A few days later the investigator arrived with some really hi tech scanning gear, and within 5 mins had identified the scource was eminating from next door.
He found the culprit....next door had a Sky remote extender which had gone faulty, and was flooding the area with a constant signal.
There is no charge for this service as long as its not your own equipment, which is why I powered off the whole house to see if the problem persisted.
Maybe you could use an extention lead from next door to power your router while turning your mains off to check? -

Hmm, I've had a check on Google and a few people do experience signal loss issues... as you're saying you have WiFi problems too, I believe this may be related to the phone rather than EE.
I had a look and there doesn't seem to be a lot of issues in the area you've told me about. You also mention it works at your friends, so again, location doesn't seem to have any impact on this.
Have you tried removing the SIM card, turning the phone off, inserting the SIM again and then turning the phone on? I'd also remove the SIM, wait 10 seconds and then insert it again whilst the phone is still on.
You may also want to try turning flight mode on and then off again - I read online that this has solved the problem for a few people.
Let me know if any of the above works, and if not, I'll see what other advice I can offer. I can't rule out for certain it's not an EE issue... but we'll soon find out I'm sure!

IPad2, having problems with signal strength on WiFi?
On my iMac I have four bars signal strength. On my iPad2 I have one bar and it will not connect to the WiFi.
I have a similar problem.
(But not on Crystal Palace Tx).

Now press the Info button to get extra information.
Note the UHF channel number, the channel is being received on.
Get the same channel information, on the other Freeview receiver you have.

I believe, the Youview box is pre-set to receive from a transmitter (and hence a UHF channel number), determined by a post-code and/or your address details.

As confirmed by the other freeview receivers I have.
There doesn't seem to be a way to force the box to use any other UHF channel.

Problems with signal strength with channels on Mux...
I've had a YouView box (Humax first gen model) for almost a week and i'm having pixelation/signal strength problems with all channels on Mux. Com5, Pick, Dave, Movie Mix and Really etc. My Vision+ box and TV are showing these channels without any problems. Any ideas?

Migrating E&M immediate start from 2821 VGW to AS5350XM but problems with signalling

We currently have 2821 VGW platforms running E&M Immediate start. The T1s go into the DACS and the IP interface connects to the SIP server with a simple number plan.
So, when a T1 DS0 signals, the VGW talks to the SIP server, the SIP server does a database lookup and talks back to the VGW and passes the connection details.
However we are now migrating to the AS5350XM platform and replicating the config from the 2821 to the AS5350XM is causing signalling issues.

What I did notice was the following:
1) When defining loop open and loop closed custom bit configuration is different....on the 2821 you do it on the voice port. On the AS5350, it is not supported on the voice port but appears to be configurable via the T1 controller. I'm not sure if the AS5350 needs any further E&M signalling configuration as the problem lies in the signalling....the AS5350 when the line is cleared down appears to start ringing it again and not following the signalling pattern.
2) When doing a "show voice port" on the AS5350XM does not show E&M signalling, whereas it does on the 2821:

Can anyone advise if further configuration is required on the AS5350XM in order to pass the E&M signalling correctly ?Well for me the forms were ok to open with 11g, just had to correct differences and recompile to run.
That there script is a ton of help!..well you forgot to mention the Output_File parameter, but I could find that myself now that I knew what to look at. Now if I could also set it not to produce .err files when everything went fine and to set the output names so that the old compiled forms get overwritten..
the SRW.* calls turned out to be things used in Reports, so it was hopeless to compile in forms..but also not needed
as for ENABLE_ITEM and DISABLE_ITEM I found these to use as their definitions in a library, that proved sufficient.

CNN HD,,,,,problems with signal/feed?
I am in the SE part of the US - SWFL to be exact. I am wondering if anyone else might be experiencing signal issues with CNN HD? It seems like it skips and freezes up momentarily several times within a 2-3 minute period, and always seems to occur after 2:00pm ET ..... CNN SD does not have this issue - just the HD version.
I am having the same problems I reported it to support however they said they fixed it. I still have the problem about every 2 hours my audio skips and the screen looks like the video is intermitting with little squars all all over the screen. They were sending a teck over but it doesn't happen all the time. Like yesterday it did it about 8 times. I only happenes to CNN and it is on 2 TV's with different boxes. I am in the Hudson Florida area.

Intermittent problems with signal
I haven't sen any reports of signal related issues as a result of firmware updates.
Your signal strength on dish input 1 is a bit weak and may be the cause of the pixelation on live TV. The signal on dish input 2 looks fine, which is probably why your recordings are ok. It's dish input 2 that is used for recordings unless you're recording two things at the same time in which case dish input 1 is also used.
You could try swapping the two dish inputs at the back of your Sky box to see if the weak signal then transfers to dish input 2. Do switch the box off at the plug before you do this. Also be careful to line up the connectors with the sockets before reconnecting them, otherwise you can easily bend the 'pin' in the middle of the plugs, which will make matters worse!
If the pixelation then occurs on recordings and not live tv, it points to a cable or LNB problem. If it stays on live tv, it points to a box issue.Hi Most days now on firstt turning on the sky box we see the message no signal being received. If the box is switched off and on all channels then load but sometimes the signal breaks up while watching a programme and the sky box has to be switched off again to put it right. I still receive a signal 24/7 when I get a new mail from my yahoo-account even though my settings in "Usersettings" for email is tagged "NO"?
In "Usersettings" for sms I have tagged "Receive report" as I dont know how to set the phone back to the more the precise terms: "Receive Signal" or not when I am receiving an sms -
Suddenly one day this option "Receive report" was my only option without me having changed anything...and the email settings used to be okay too earlier?
I have switched the phone down and opened it again but it doesnt help?
As I dont have nothing important on my phone I consider to reset to Factory settings but here is my only worry to install the free Ovimap again as it became a problem last I tried and the phone ended up being repared.

Do you have sound in videos and other sites? Is it only Facebook that you don't get sound? You might have accidentally muted audio for Firefox. The article Knowledge Base article [[No sound in Firefox]] will show you how to check.

This is the second day now that myself, husband and daughter can't make any calls or texts. My phone shows full bars for signal but when I go to make a call it says 'not registered on network'. I used to get a signal anywhere in my home but this has changed over the past few weeks. Please help

I have a problem with my iphone 4. My 3G always stays activated but I lose my network signal. The bars all get lost and I'm not able to receive / send sms, mms or phone calls. Could you guys please help me fix this problem? Ios 5.1.1
I haven't gotten a new sim card because the problem has been presenting itself in various cards not only mine. So far, all I've done is reset my network settings.
Last night, I turned off the 3G tab and it had all the signal bars. Today, I did the network reset and it's working apparently. But like I said before, previously the bars just disappear and the iphone only has the 3G activated. -

Got some problem: with external graphics card (ASUS GTX660-DC2TG-2GD5) the signal disappears after a while (about 1-3 minutes) - display goes off and has floating table "No signal".
Without external card, through the integrated video - all works fine.

I had a BIOS like 10.0 and then updated it to the latest version ( 10.8 ) via M-FLASH, but nothing has changed.

As a side note, you shouldn't have any graphics problems when W7 is installed like some have with W8.
Edit: Problem is you need an OS installed with the forum method.
2nd edit: Recommend then to run on the onboard ports to the monitor with the discrete card removed to get the OS, drivers, reflash, etc. taken care of. Then the matter of the graphics card not working right can be addressed.
3rd edit: Has the graphics card been tested in another machine to verify it is not possibly faulty?
4th edit: Sorry about all the edits, but as I think about it, more things come to mind. Have you been connecting the discrete card with HDMI or DVI? Some compatibility issue can be a possibility with a non compliant v1.4 HDMI cable or a monitor conflict. Some Apple monitors have been known to be problematic from time to time. -
Problems with TV Out signal after upgrading to iOS 5.1
Has anyone experienced problems with TV Out signals on their iPad 2 using the Apple HDMI Adapter after upgrading to iOS 5.1? I am trying to connect to my HDTV after upgrading and cintunally receive an "Unsupported Video Signal" message with a blank/back screen. Prior to upgrading, I had no connection problems and could view TV Shows, Movies, Music Videos, Keynote, etc...without problems. I've been unable to find any resolution to this problem, even followed Apple guidance to detach and reattach the HDMI adapter without success. Seems like a software bug to me and it's a major problem when trying to conduct business or personal activities. Hopeing Apple has a fix in work already...anyone else have any ideas? Thx in advance...
Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo. It is safe to do, there should be no content loss. It is the same as rebooting your computer.
If that does not work, restore the iPad to the factory settings.

Using Spaces With Logic 9?
Dear Apple, I'd like to know if it's possible to use spaces together with Logic. I tried to grab my mixer and drag it to another space but that didn't work. If it's not possible at all I would recommend this as a new feature in a Snow Leopard update.

Trouble with video playback on .mov files. Please help!
