4.2.2 Upgrade, Developer Bar Missing

Hi,
I have performed an upgrade of my Apex version from 4.1.1 to 4.2.2. I downloaded the Oracle Application Express 4.2.2 - English language only Download.
There were no issues within the upgrade.
I have logged into an application in the developer mode and the developer bar is not displaying. I have checked that the application status is "available with edit links".
Has anybody experienced similar issues?

Thank you for your help.
apex.oracle.com was upgraded to a pre-release of APEX 4.2.2. Our IT organization will soon be applying the final production patch set.
However, there is one and only one distributed version of APEX 4.2.2, namely 4.2.2.00.11. There are not multiple versions released.
When you say "the file I downloaded was version 4.2.2.00.09", how are you ascertaining that this was the specific version? Were there any errors/issues in the installation log?

In norm cases, do we delete the data loads in BW development to ensure the size is smaller or is that ok to let the data remain in the development system during the bw upgrade?

Hi,
Data deletion is not needed in case of upgrade, the simple reason behind that is if you think of upgrading production system and deleting all the current data then situation will become very uncomfortable so don't worry about data and simply go for system upgrade.

On Mac the scroll bars can be hidden and only have them show when you scroll the page so you can see the current scroll position.
The idea is that a touch pad is used that doesn't require the scroll bars to be visible and thus have more screen estate for the browsing area.
You can make the scroll bars always visible:
System Preferences > General > Show Scroll Bar > Choose "Always"
You can try to delete the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

No FF button, no taskbar, must mouse over menu bar to see, Blekko search bar missing.

Firefox button suddenly missing. Taskbar missing, reappears when Windows button on keyboard pushed, then disappears after performing desired task (like adjusting computer volume). Menu bar missing, reappears when moused over, but no Firefox button or Blekko searchbar, just address bar, reload button, home, favorites, add to favorites button.

Firefox might be stuck in Full Screen mode. Use the F11 key to switch between full screen and normal modes.

ITunes top menu bar missing?

Hello All,
This may sound like a dumb question however I have tried everything, I think. The little bar at the top of iTunes which has the green, yellow, and green dots to minimize, maximize, and close as well as the play and next track buttons are missing from iTunes. They were there on this computer last week so I am assuming it is something I did. I also am unable to move the iTunes window around my desktop, like all other applications. This is only a minor inconvenience however with this top bar missing, I also do not have the search option for iTunes store.
Any ideas?

It sounds as if your iTunes window got moved up until it is off of the screen. Change your display resolution until you can see all of it and move it. Then change the resolution back to the preferred setting.

Upgrade Developer 6i on the server side to patch set 18

Once I upgrade Developer 6i on the server side, I need to bring Developer 6i on windows platform (used for development) to same version level. My understanding both have to be in same version.
What the patches I need to apply for Developer 6i Windows?

I am upgrading Developer 6i with orale applications 11i by following metalink document id:125767.1.
I followed all the steps mentioned in the document and patch readme.
When i verify my upgrade it was showing same version (6.0.8.25.2) as old one.
i check all my logfiles for errors there are not reporing any errors.
plz help me to upgrade Developer 6i.

yes, I installed 4948577 Release 6i patch 18.
I completed all the steps mentioned in the patch read me.
ok, i will give u all the steps:
S1: Loggin as oracle user with write previlege to the 8.0.6 ORACLE_HOME.
S2: Unzip the patch.
S3: Run the install script contained in the patch
cd $ORACLE_HOME/developer6i_patch18
./patch_install.sh | tee patch_install_p18.log
S4: Check patch_install_p18.log for errors
there is no errors found in this.
S5: Relink PROCEDURE BUILDER,FORMS,GRAPHICS AND REPORTS
i executed the commands as per patch read me
all are executed successfully.
S6: Install additional Developer 6i patches
I installed patch#3830807 and 4586086
S7:Relink Application executable
run relink application file menu using adadmin
S8: Apply oracle apps interoperability patch
i applied 4888294.
S9 :verify your upgrade
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/f60gen
Forms 6.0.8.25.2
where is the problem?

Hide developer bar

I use "Menu Framework" (http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/06-may/o36apex.html) to create user menu in my application and I need to show developer bar (Home, Edit page, etc) only for user "admin". How can I do this?

If you ask user to login using the link instead of logging to work space like
Workspace : XYZ
Username : Suri
Password : puri
The link could be something like:
https://catalyst:4443/apex/f?p=MOH
where MOH is Application Alias.
When User login using this type of link, he does not see Edit Bar.

Excel x86 2013 status bar missing in SAP

Hello,
We are using SAP GUI 7.3 patch 7 and Office Excel 2013. With this combination, the bottom status bar in Excel does not display. I tried to apply some corrections, but I do not successful.
My problem is similar to that: Excel 2010 status bar missing in SAP

I checked this with the standard demo program
SAPRDEMO_SPREADSHEET_INTERFACE and unfortunately this is a limitation of the SAP inplace
mode.
This issue can be replicated outside of SAP by using the FramerEx application by Microsoft which
can be downloaded for free.
You can download this from here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/vc60pro/mdi/1/win98me/en-us/framerex.exe
If you use this program and use the File -> Open and select any valid .xls file,it will open in the same manner as the inplace mode in SAP
You will notice the status bar is missing in this case too.
This is the same technology that SAP use to display the inplace files.

The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program

trying to install an update patch for Citrix xendesktop 7.5 and the error when I click on the msi patch is "the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch
may update a different version of the program"
The application was installed 2 days prior and works fine but the patch will not install.
Any ideas?

Yes let's see if there is any error occurs in installation log.
Meanwhile from the error message, the possible cause is that a part of the application is missing such as a registry key with app version. In this situation you can first test to reinstall/repair the application though it is still working fine - see if issue
persists after reinstall the app.
Meanwhile you could also contact Citrix about this issue. It may be a common issue and Citrix may provide a quick fix for it.

Why is the location bar missing after the latest upgrade?

after upgrading to 10.0, the location bar disappeared.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
*Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
*Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
*If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

Developer tool bar missing in some pages???

Hello guys,
I have some few pages into my application, in some pages I am able to see Developer Toolbar at the bottom, but in some of the pages it's invisible, also just to inform you that I copied some of the pages from another application of the same workspaces.
Any idea how to visible Developer Toolbar on all the pages...????? Also can anybody tell me is this happening because of I copied pages from another application of the same workspace or it's someother reason???

thxs for replying, I got your point "custom authentication scheme when you login to the application as a different user from your apex developer username."
I guess when I copied some of the pages from another application Custom authentication scheme also came into this current application, I removed it(My auth schema) but still I am unable to see Developer toolbar page 15 onwards(except page 20 & 25).
Also I am running the application with the username as "[email protected]" and password as "kg", after that inside the application I am validating the user credentials from the DB table "tbuser"(on page 8), and more over at the bottom I can see as [email protected] which is displaying because I logged into application with the same user.
After checking the physician's credentials(either Test123/John123) on page 8, I am still able to see Developer toolbar on the page 14 than why not on other pages going forward.
Thanks, once again for your useful, I didn't know before that Developer toolbar doesn't work with the custom authentication scheme, but my case is totally different... can you help out with this issue?????? appreciated

Developer menu missing (safari 4.0.1)

I've installed pure Leopard 10.5.6, upgraded to 10.5.7, installed safari 4, and the Developer menu (with great inspector and all things) is just missing. Where can I activate it please?

Tick the box 'Show Develop Menu in menu bar'.

Scroll Bar missing on Safari web pages and unfamiliar screen saver image

I recently upgraded my OS X from Panther to Tiger v. 10.4.11 and upgraded to Safari 3.1.2. Now the scroll bar down the right side is missing from the open web page in Safari. Where did it go and how do I get it back?
Also, unfamiliar images appear, something like a screen saver when I leave my computer for a
few minutes without putting it to sleep or shutting it down. It's a black/white/gray portrait of
a woman and as the picture moves around the screen, the image magnifies. I have no idea
where this image came from nor how to get rid of it. Any ideas?

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it finishes.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, or things don't load/run, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates again, or even do an A&I if you have enough free disk space.

Repair Permissions after re-install, then reboot again.
If all the above do not resolve the problem, then it's time for an Archive & Install, which gives you a new OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space...
