4.2 and cisco AP causes crash

Hey all, I'm new to the forums, and cant find anything on this so maybe someone can help me. I have a problem with any of our devices(ipad and iphones) that have been upgraded to 4.2. We have a Cisco AP and every time the device goes to connect to the device, the device reboots itself. This is also the case when the device comes into range of the AP and attempts to reconnect, it reboots the device. i wonder if anyone else is experiencing this, and if so what can be done.
Thanks
D

Correction all devices on 4.2.1 are having this problem, not 4.2. i also recently confirmed that anyone on 4.1 and earlier have no problems connecting to the wireless AP

it even fails on other accounts
That's an indication that the startup disk may need repairing.
From your admin account launch Disk Utility.
    /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk in the panel on the left then selec the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions)
Boot from your install disc if Disk Utility reported errors.
Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks
If the startup disk is ok, try reinstalling Safari 5.1

  • Premier CC Audio Render (and/or export) causing crash.

Hello, I'm pulling my hair out with a rather large project.
Rendering Audio, exporting audio or exporting audio in Media Encoder ALL crashes my project.
The sequence has one aiff of voice on top of one aiff of music with no filters other than normalise gain to 0.
I've unistalled Soundflower, emptied my cache and deleted old render files.
Please give me some suggestions as I definitely can't rebuild this project in CS6 or FCP.
    Thanks, Ian.

  • Log and transfer AVCHD  causes crash

Shot some test footage with a Panasonic AG HMC151.
If I try log and transfer, FCP 6.0.4 sees the clips and I can view them in the L&T window. But as soon as I try to transfer them to the bin the program crashes.
    Any suggestions.
    KC

Have you copied the SDHC card to your desktop and tried L/T from there?
And I take it you are using an Intel Mac for ingesting?
Finally, I believe 6.0.5 added support for the HMC150/1. make certain you've updated.

  • Attempts to burn and run diags causes crash

    Hello All,
Wondering if anyone else has this issue - when either attempting to burn or run diagnostics I receive a generic "Itunes has encountered a problem" message. I can get a bit of info but ultimately clicking on close exits Itunes.
Before 7.0.2 I had no issues with burning. Since then I've tried Customer Service - who merely suggests reading some articles and removing and reinstalling itunes. I've also upgraded my burners firmware. Still the same issues.
The burner works properly when using burning software such as Nero.
Anyone have any ideas? Customer service indicated that I might have to call Apple Support and "might" have to pay to solve this. Um, I don't think so. How about a fix/patch for the multitue of burning issues 7.0.2 has seemingly caused.
    Thanks,
    Dirk C.
      Windows XP Pro

Hey, I am having pretty much the same problem, and the so called "support" is of NO help. Pretty ridiculous for a company like Apple to have such poor customer support. They send us all to these message boards where maybe 1 friendly soul has any clue what's going on. How do they expect users who are having the same problem to really help each other? It boggles my mind. I'm sorry I cannot help you, but just wanted to share the misery.

  • Clearing overrides in Cell and Table Styles causes crash

I can not "Apply [...], Clear Overrides" in a Cell, Table or Paragraph style without InDesign CC crashing. I have removed all Object styles from the tables that I am working with. I tried exporting to .idml and starting a new file and have the same issue.

@Chris – Is InDesign CC patched to the latest version?
Are you interested to test a script by Marc Autret posted at the inDesign Scripting Forum?

See Marc Autret's script for cleaning different levels:
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/5931169#5931169
Change the last line of his code to your will. Basically you have 4 options. Chose *one* of those:
    Option 1 LEVEL 0:
breakLinkToCellStyleSelection(0); // LEVEL 0  => only clear overrides relative to *defined* style attributes
    Option 2 LEVEL 1:
breakLinkToCellStyleSelection(1); // LEVEL 1  => clear all overrides (through root style)
    Option 3 LEVEL 2:
breakLinkToCellStyleSelection(2); // LEVEL 2  => clear all overrides and apply [None]
    Option 4 LEVEL 3:
breakLinkToCellStyleSelection(3); // LEVEL 3  => apply [None] *in depth* (i.e. release all attributes)
Select your cells or your table and run the whole script.
Does it crash InDesign CC as well?

  • Barn doors transition causes crash

    Dear Community,
Applied barn doors transition to a project in CS4. Stored that project in 2010.
Opened the project in CS6 CC - and barn doors caused crashes - so I cleaned off the old and applied replacement barn door transitions in CS6 CC.
Once the wipe is applied - its fairly stable - sometime crashes sometimes doesn't.
If I apply a broder colour to the wipe - all ok.
If I then apply a border thickness - crash every time.
    System;
    Premiere Pro CS6 - 6.0.3 (001 (MC: 264587)) through cloud membership
    Updated and current
    Win 7 Pro - SP1 - 64 Bit
Source footage SONY EX3 - .mp4 and still image .png's
No error messages - just crash and need to restart PP CS6
Try to apply colour and border to a barn door transition causes the error
This worked before on the smae project when created in CS4
Not running other software at the time
NewBlueFX modules installed but not applied to this area of sequence
i7 - 3.20GHz, 16GB RAM, SSD OS drive, 4 x drive RAID on LSI RAID card, - No I/O hardware

Problem occurs during normal edit - as soon as I start to adjust the barn doors wipe - I don't get to compression

Since the original report earlier today - I now just have to put the timeline scrubber over the barn doors transition and PP CS6 closes without an error message and without saving. The unfortunate part here is there doesn't seem to be any record or log of the crashes to be able to disseminate whats going wrong.
Barn doors worked in CS4 - and the only change in this project is the re-opening in CS6 CC."

  • I want Firefox to open to my homepage every time after it crashes. I do not want it to return to the tabs and applications that caused the crash. I am willing to lose information. How do I do this?

Firefox crashes or seizes up when there are too many tabs and applications open, and causes my computer to crash or seize up. I use task manager to close Firefox or I restart my computer. Then, when Firefox restarts again, it automatically re-opens all the tabs and applications that caused the computer to seize or crash in first place. This is a waste of my time. I want Firefox to reopen to my homepage even if it crashes. I am willing to lose information to have Firefox reopen to a low-memory homepage. How do I do this?

Set the Integer pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes
That will allow you to deselect the tab(s) that you do not want to reopen, but will allow to reopen other tabs.
    See:

    * https://wiki.mozilla.org/Session_Restore#Preferences
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)

  • Photoshop CS4 and graphic cards. Can cause crashing?

Since upgrading to CS4 I seem to have increased crashing.
    Here are my system specs.
    Mac 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    9 GB of Ram
250 GB internal dedicated scratch disc
NVDIA GeForce 7300 GT with 256 VRAM
After having endless techs look at my machine and upgrading everything. I am beginning to suspect the graphics card.
With OpenGL can a underperforming video card cause crashing in photoshop especially with massive file sizes ( multilayered CMYK poster sized files the can exceed 7 GB)?

Did you install the 11.0.1 update?
Is your OS up to date with patches?
Have you tried disabling OpenGL in preferences to avoid using the GPU/Graphics card?

  • IOS Signature Settings for Multiple Email Accounts causes crashes and errors

    Hello Everyone,
I've been having troubles with iOS email signature for severals years from iOS 4 (?) through iOS 7 on everything ranging from an iPad2, iPad3, IPad Air, and various iPhones.  I'm currently on an iPad Air 128GB WiFi running iOS 7.1.2.
I have about 12 email accounts. I have it set to a unique signature per account. Whenever I try to scroll the list of signatures in the settings app, it will often have greyed out areas where a signature is supposed to be (especially after adding a new account). Other accounts will blur together and overlap each other. Very often the whole settings app crashes. Once the crashes start, they happen more frequently and you basically have to Power Off and Restart the iPad to get it back to a somewhat stable state.
I've come to accept that the Mail Signatures is broken and not stable. But maybe I'm just doing it wrong. So, I ask you great and wonderful Apple Community: Any suggestions? Or just keep on like I've been doing for the last several years?
    Thank you!
    Paul Holje

this crash has been present since ios6 (apparently). it's apparently caused by a buffer overflow (i've not yet examined the crash files i've been generating) because the engineers never tested use cases such as yours or mine.
a painful workaround is to disable all your email accounts but one, edit its signature, then disable it, and enable the next one, and so on. ios saves the correct signature for each account and the settings app crash does not occur.
    hope this helps

  • Why Does 3D Reposse cause crashes and work so slow?

Why Does 3D Reposse cause crashes and work so slow?   I get the pinwheel of death when I use this feature.  It works at a snails pace.  I liked the 3D Type effects in iIllustrator.  Why couldn't Adobe have added all the Reposse features to Illustrator instead of craming all these new features into Photoshop?
They're worthless if the program needs an hour to process every selection.

What are your OS specs, your Video Card and your Preferences > Performance settings?
Why Does 3D Reposse cause crashes and work so slow?
My guess would be because it has to create a whole bunch of polygons and your computer-set-up may be insufficient for the task.

  • Macbook wireless and Cisco base station causes kernel panics

So my company uses Macbooks and Cisco wireless base stations. For some reason, when they use bother ethernet, and the wireless, the Macbook will kernel panic for no apparent reason. So since we have a fast wired network, I have been advising those Macbook users to turn off wireless and use the wired network. Wouldn't you know, the kernel panics go away. Is anyone aware of an issue with the wireless chipset in the Macbooks and the wireless chipsets in the Ciscos not liking to play with one another? I know it's the wireless in the Macbooks as if I use any other wireless base station from Apple or Linksys, the issue is not there. I should also mention that when people use those Macbooks on the wireless every once in a while, they get an access control list error. We do not have ACLs for our wireless. Our PowerBooks and iBooks do not exhibit any of these issues on the same network, so we know it is an issue with Intel based Macs. Any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem at college (they use Cisco equipment). On most of the campus everything is fine, but in the area near my classes (typically), wireless causes the mac to panic.
I asked at IT, and came back more confused (apparently, they use the same model WAPs throughout the college, so they couldn't see why one particular WAP would cause this. They guessed it was to do with the huge amount of traffic that particular WAP gets, with it being in the Computing department and all).

  • Cisco sup720-3bxl crashes

    Hello everyone,
4 weeks passed in debugging Cisco SUP720-3BXL crashes and I don't know what to do...
It's new Cisco module without warranty and since first day it crashes when "minimal or complete diagnostic" is turned on during boot.
When manually the diagnostic is executed, it rises up major fault related to TestFabricSnakeForward & TestFabricSnakeBackward only....perhaps because the second sup720 is not installed yet.
I would like to ask you to take a look and help me to figure out what is going on.

I changed the slot from 5 to 6 but no difference...
I have attached the tech support files.
TechSupport__Before_Running_Diag.txt - Before running manually "diagnostic start module 6 test C"
TechSupport__After_Running_Diag.txt - Before running manually "diagnostic start module 6 test C"
Just did it in  case of differences.

  • Cisco 1841/871 crash EEM scripting 15.1(1)T

We have been testing 15.1.1T on a couple of lab Cisco 1841 and Cisco 871 devices.
On the devices we are using EEM to automate the failover/failback process for a cellular modem attached to f3 on the 871 or f0/1 on the 1841. One of the EEM applets we use fires from a cron timer event that occurs every 10 minutes on the router.
IOS revision 12.4(22)T we had no problems with using the cron-timer triggered applet (every 10 minutes between 7am to 10pm), except for the fact that every command issued by EEM required AAA authentication. The EEM applet is causing our routers to saturate our Cisco ACS servers (we use 700+ routers in the field, all exectuing this EEM script) with single-connect requests. We will refer to the cron-timer executed applet as 'Maintenance' from here on out.
As of 15.1(1)T the addition to bypass the AAA authentication process became available. This was a huge speed increase to our EEM applets, specifically the Maintenance applet. I will include the applet for clairity.

This script is designed to look for a couple of routes in the IP routing table, and populate two variables (bgpstate and wireless) with the regular expression matching result of the show ip route commands. It uses track 1 to determine the up/down status of Serial0/0/0 which is the primary T1 interface for WAN services on the router. The wireless is "up/1" if the static route to 208.38.154.8 is present in the show ip route output (only when f0/1 is up in this case). The T1 is "up/1" if the default route passed to the IP routing table is present in the show ip route output.
Before the upgrade to 15.1(1)T these scripts ran without issue, and we had no errors. Now after the upgrade, anytime this script fires and the show ip route match for the wireless variable is 1 instead of zero, it begins to run through the else condition starting at action 031, and during the second execution of the script every 10 minutes (I still have not figured out how to force the cron-timer to fire only ONCE per minute, instead of at the beginning and end of the minute), the router will generate spurious memory errors, and sometimes crash or reboot.
This all began with 15.1(1)T, and I have not seen any caveats or other entries that could possibly point to the cause of this problem. Any ideas?
I am also attaching a crash file from one of the routers like this one so you can see what I mean.
All of these devices are running the advipservices k9 version of this IOS.
    Thanks for your time.

The problem with cron events running twice in the same minute is bug CSCsz12460 which will be fixed in EEM 3.2 in 15.1(3)T.
The crash you're seeing doesn't appear to be related to EEM at all.  It looks like a problem with single-connection TACACS+.  The bug appears to be CSCtg40901 which has not yet been fixed in 15.1T.
A workaround was suggested to use multiple-connection TACACS+.

  • I have V3.6.8. On My XP Desktop and my Apple, Firefox crashes regularly - at least 3 times a week it will restart but some files will not re-open automatically, or have to be taken of the list of possible reasons why FF will not restart.

I get a script box saying that a script is trying to complete etc as follows: Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623
It makes no difference whether I click continue or cancel the same message keeps reappearing
How do I fix this? And why does FF crash all the time, both of my different computers? Its supposed to better that IE . . . ?

Go to the address '''about:crashes''' and tell us your latest crash IDs. We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.
