4.2 and music playlist issue

i will try to explain this as clear as i can and hopfully someone understands what im talking about.prior to the 4.2 update i was able to use the spotlight feature to find music and the iphone was smart enough to find the song from the playlist i was currently listening to and play the song, it would also scroll to down to the artist name so if i wanted to play other songs by the artist i didnt have to scroll through my playlist till i found the artist. but since updating to 4.2 anytime i use spotlight and play a song by an artist it only finds the song im looking for but not other songs by that artist from the playlist im currently listening to.

Have you looked over this document:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7921g/6_0/english/deployment/guide/7921dply.pdf
This doc explains some setting like data rates to use and best practices. Data rates 1,2 & 5.5 should be disabled unless required by legacy devices. Also I would assume that you don't have aggressive load balancing enabled on the wlc. How are the phones getting 2 different versions of code... they should pick up one when the boot from CM.

  • Pre 2 and Music Playlists

Had a Palm Pre Plus -- worked well and I was able to download playlists and music from my workstation.  Worked fine.
Purchased a new Pre 2 -- sweller and better was the bromide.
This new device is no longer to read/react to playlists like its predecessor.  As far as I can determine it has something to do with Apple and HP hissing at each other and not playing nice with webOS 2.xxx
Tech support says use the phone to make playlists -- not something I want to do since I already have plenty of them made up and useable on my workstation.
Anyone know how to transfer info and playlists from a Windows workstation to the Pre 2 or am I out of luck?

Hello and thank you for using the HP webOS Help Forums!
There is not a way to sync your current play list. Here is how you do it on a device and I apologize for any inconvenience:
You can create playlists using the Music App for audio content stored on your USB drive.
    Open Music.
    Tap "New Playlist."
Tap and hold a song, album, artist, or genre collection, and drag it to the playlist. The content is then added to the playlist.
I hope this information is useful.
    Have a nice day!

  • ITunes Match, iPad, and smart playlist issues.

I have one particular smart playlist, that iTunes Match correctly syncs to my Macs and my iPhone, but no matter what I try, it shows as "no songs" on my iPad. Both iDevices are running iOS 7.0.3.

    Hi zentralorgan,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you are trying to AirPlay from an iPad to multiple AirPlay outputs.  This feature requires iTunes on a computer, and cannot be done on an iOS device.  Since you have iTunes Match, your music should still be the same on your computer as your iPad.
    Listen through multiple speakers
With AirPlay and iTunes 10 or later, you can listen to music through your computer speakers and multiple AirPlay outputs.
The maximum number of outputs is three to six. The number that works for you depends on your environment (such as building composition and local radio interference), distance to the outputs, and available network capacity relative to your other usage.

    Take care,

  • HT3209 Billing and Music Library Issues

I owe ITunes money for 4 tracks but I am unable to play music in my library already purchased? When I click on a song I am prompted to address past billing issue. Doesn't seem right since I already paid for those songs. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the follow up you your earlier post Skip! Question, what brand of router are you using and have you changed any other settings other than the channel? I suspect a lot of folks have interference issues and may not be aware of it. Microwaves and older cordless phones are the usual culprits and now wireless speakers! The "default" settings don't work for every situation so just curious what else you have tried.
My Airport Extreme for example has an "Interference Robustness" setting that is supposed to help but at the penalty of top speed and it also has an option to use "wide bands" which I think equates to the 20/40 setting in other N routers. I might be wrong on this one though. Anyhoo, just curious and thanks again!
P.S. If you do have a single radio router, you may want to try a dual band unit and then force the ATV to the 5ghz band which usually suffers less from interference issues. You can also make the 5ghz band N mode only and then slower devices can connect to the 2.4ghz radio and not interfere with the speed on the 5ghz side. 5ghz is shorter range though (but faster) so you have to watch for that if you have a big place. My ATV, ATV2, iPad and iMac all share the 5ghz side with N mode only for full speed and everything else (PC's, iPhones, Wii, PS3, Netbook) all use the 2.4ghz radio in mixed mode.

  • Odd coverflow glitch and music playing issues

I'm having an odd problem with the coverflow on my ipod where some album covers appear as a pixelated mess. Also i have an issue where during the song (or at the beginning) it will go quiet for about 20 seconds or more and then continue playing effectively skipping 20 seconds of the song or in some cases the song will be not play at all. I have a 4th gen ipod touch running iOS 4.2.1, i recently had some trouble performing a restore (itunes error 37 =s) and it took near 5 attempts to get my ipod restored.
    Any help is appreciated

    Thanks for response.
This was not an issue with any iPod in the past, but I usually list my albums in more a category way than the actual album name.
With over 3000 songs, many one song from an actual album, I'd have so many albums it does not make a lot of sense (to me) to organize one's collection that way.
So I listed my albums as: Rock, Folk, Jazz, World Music, Classical, etc., etc. That helped (me) organize the large collection better. So maybe Coverflow in the iPod Touch 2G is reading all these categories only once. I don't know why - as I said previous iPods I've owned (Incl. the Classic) showed each artist and "album" in Coverflow.
As I say, I saw no point of listing by actual album names as much of my collection is not by an actual album, by a song or two from each album.
However, my way of organizing helped me. If I just wanted to hear Rock (and not Classical, Jazz, etc.), I would just click to play my Rock album.
Under Genre, I would break it down further. For example, under my World Music 'album," I would list songs by country: Mali, Italy, Cape Verde, etc., etc.
At any rate, I wonder if this is the glitch under iPod Touch 2G - it only reads my album categories once and just lists the first song only under each.

  • App download and music download issues

I have started having issues with downloading previously downloaded apps and some new music. I have tied the log out of account, turn off and sign back in but it still does not work. I do them all individually as well so there is no paused items.  This is happening on iPad 2, iPad mini and also on my MacBook. It either says network connection refused or cannot be downloaded at this time.  Most apps download fine but then 1 or 2 will have an issue. This also happens after syncing with the MacBook. They will not download even when synced. Also, the same happens with some new items of music as well, I can download an album, come back an hour later, try a new song and it won't download!!!!!!!
Please help as this is very frustrating as an intermittent problem

    Update...
For "grins" I just un-checked "Sync Music", and synced my iPhone... Other Data went to zero.  Re-checked "Sync Music" and synced, and only had 250Mb of Other on the iPhone.  After a full sync with 7gb music, the Other memory number is back up to 2.23gb...
    Interesting...

  • Nokia N95 8G- Music Playlist issue

I've been trying this forever and I'm really stuck please help.  I have a Nokia N95 8G phone and I use Nokia OVI Suite to sync my music with my phone.  I'm able to create playlists in my OVI suite BUT when I sync it with my phone and hit 'refresh' then the music all shows and plays properly but the playlists don't....so in otherwords the songs are on my phone and they play but they are not set up in the same playlists that I have set up on OVI suite.  I want my songs to be split in the playlists the same as on my OVI suite.
Thanks in advance for any help!

    hi guys,
I have this very big problem with my n95 8G.
I bought it brand new and after I wanted to update the software, and right next after the screen with "with estimated time left 15 minutes appears" appears the screen of the phone starts, all blank, and after another minute the computer and the phone are not conected anymore, and on the screen appears "the phone is not conected anymore" and I have to take out the battery so that the phone will start again. but the biggest problem is that the 8G memory is not available anymore. The message "mass memory corrupted" appears and you can not format it in any way because it says "mass memory in use by another application".
I can't use my phone without memory, so your help or advices will be highly appreciated.
I also lost my warranty because the phone was locked in a network, and I had to unlock it, so I can't take it back to the store.

  • Video playback in mixed (video and music) playlists

How can I set a video playlist to play both the songs and the videos (not just the audio from the video)? My 5G ipod would allow both video playback and songs from the video playlist menu. On my 160g classic, I only see/play the videos on the mixed playlists from the video playlist menu.

The 3ivX codec is in your quicktime library folder, normally: root/Library/QuickTime, but I don't think, that Apple encodes their movies with an unsupported codec. Maybe there is another unsupported codec in your library that creates the iTunes-stuttering or the reason for your problem is completely different. I paste here the content of my library folder. If you have anything else in your folder, quit Quicktime Player and iTunes (if they are running) , remove the plug-in and try your movie again in iTunes. Hope, this helps.

  • Importing issue, trash issue, and music store issue.

    1. When importing a song from a CD it imports most of the song then "unexpectedly quits" not importing the song at all.
    2. My trash can won't "see" some items when I try and throw them away from my itunes, so I have to "move to trash" rather than drag the file to the trash can.
    3. Music Store isn't opening.
These problems have started once I updated to tiger and latest itunes update. Everything on my system is updated.
    Thanks for your help,

  • ICloud and Music Playlists ... why so incompatible?

I have amazing difficulty when I try to update my iPhone (connected via USB) and my iPod Classic (connected via USB) with anything I want to add to a Playlist ... iCloud starts to tell my it will void out my playlist and then I have no way to keep my songs ... Very frustrating.
Is there anyone who can explain the relationship without pointing to erroneous self-help URLs?

If you are connecting via a cable what does iCloud have to do with this?

Those items are not stored in your iCloud data (except a possible backup that you may have made).

  • I have a problem with my iPod touch 5th gen. When connected to my computer my music playlist will show and play no problem. When I disconnect my iPod from my computer go into my music, my music playlist disappears. Do anyone have a solution. Thank U!

I have a problem with my iPod touch 5th gen 64GB. When I connect my iPod to my Mac Book Pro laptop my music that I've transferred to my iPod and music playlist will appear in my iTunes my music will play with no problem. Now, when I disconnect my iPod from my computer go into my music, my music playlist and music I've downloaded into my iPod disappears. I reconnect my iPod to my computer, everything shows. Do anyone have a solution I really do appreciate it. Thank You!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
However, there seems to be a bug in iOS 8 or iTunes 12.1.1 that cause this problem and I have not seen a solution

  • Issue with nano and music video playlist

Hello, I have two ipods, a video and a nano. I have a playlist for music videos for the video ipod. To keep them separate I checked "manually manage musc" and checked "sync music" and "selected playlist. I've checked all the playlist, except music video. Under my music, not all the songs in my library show up unless I don't have "manually manage music" checked. What should I do to have certain playlists show up and have all my songs in my library show up? Thanks in advance.

Also, the music videos show up on my summary. How do I get those off as well?

  • I have an iphone 6 with the most recent iOS.  iTunes Match is on.  Music app only showing songs purchased on iTunes and no playlists are displayed.  Just happened when updating iTunes Match.  Solutons?

I have an iPhone 6 with 64 GB of memory.  I have iTunes Match turned on my account and on the phone.  Suddenly, the Music app is only displaying music purchased directly from iTunes and no playlists are displayed.  This occurred after updating iTunes Match on my PC; when new music did not appear, I turned off iTunes Match off/on the PC then did the same on iPhone 6.  It looks like iTunes Match is trying to do a full download to the phone but it never completes.  Ideas?

  • Why does my shuffle 3rd gen. play music playlist in backwards order? And how would I correct this?

Hey, my iPod Shuffle was playing the music playlist I had imported through itunes from my mac fine and in perfect order until about 2 weeks ago. However for the last 2 weeks (there or thereabouts) it has played the playlist I on my shuffle in backwards order when I use the "Play in order" setting on my iPod. over this period I have tried everything short of going into apple to see what can be done incase im being stupid and have overlooked something. So far I have reset the unit independently wihtout the use of my mac (no effect), I have restored and re-imported the playlist I was using (no effect), I have imported an alternative playlist in case it was the playlist somehow (no effect), I have even uninstalled/re-installed iTunes on my mac and restored my Shuffle on the re-installed iTunes, also with no effect. The "shuffle" setting works fine and has no issue however and therefore makes me think it is some sort of hardware fault but as there been no physical damage to the unit nor has it undergone any form extreme treatment or been exposed to wildly varying temperatures I cant even think its cause is due to anything physical as nothing has happened to it...... I am stumped to say the least.... If anyone has experienced this also and cured their hardware could they please help?

it's a question how your itunes settings are
    in preferences ->advanced
uncheck the copy files to itunes media folder when adding to library
then when ever you add media to your itunes lib you just add a link and the media stay where it is
