AVC-I native support...it's finally here. And after I just bought an EX3....

Sorry to inject this here, but since we have the attention of someone on the inside, I hope that an upcoming Pr Pro update (or CS5) is going to offer native support for whatever weirdo flavor of H.264 that Canon is using in the 5D Mark II. I know, I know, it's not a real video camera (well, as a still photographer it is to me anyway), but the use of it has exploded... commercials and music videos and all kinds of other applications are surfacing everywhere. There are companies building rigs with HDMI mini monitors and rails and everything else for the 5D2 to be used for video. SO, the reason why I'm whining for native support is because Adobe could have a goldmine on their hands if there were to add that native support then advertise the snockers out of it. We all know that Premiere with the Production Premium suite is way better than Final Cut Studio, but us 5D2 users have to constantly stick our tail between our legs when we try to boast about Premiere to a 5D2 user and they come back with "sorry, with FCS I can edit smoothly right out of the box". There's even a workflow with Apple's Compressor to convert to 24p, so that puffs their feathers too. Now, I do use Cineform's NeoScene and I do get smooth editing with it (on an i7 rig that I built for HALF of the cost of a MacPro), but it was still a puzzle at first to know what presets in Pr to use, yadda yadda yadda. I'm tellin' ya Adobe, if you start popping that "Canon 5D Mark II" title in the lists and presets insode of Premiere and then advertise that thing as the 5D2's best friend, you WILL overtake FCS because all of us goofball photographers are in love with Photoshop and Lightroom, therefore we want to stay in the family. You'll be getting a whole new customer base getting into Premiere that you didn't have before (me for instance. OK, y'all can stop rolling your eyes). To be honest, up until now the struggling to know how to make our 5D2's work with Premiere has been a bit of a lonely fight, as if Adobe is clueless of the thing's existence, and if it weren't for NeoScene we'd be hairless.
ANYWAY Adobe, listen up! NOW is the time to strike! Canon just released it's second HD DSLRV, the 7D, albeit a crop-sensor camera, but capable of 24p and 30p and I think 60i. DSLRVs are here, at least for a while. Seize the opportunity (and make us wannabe video newcomers RUN to buy Production Premium!).
Oh, and if you're in the mood, you can make Lightroom a $99 upgrade if you own Production Premium, just like you offer with Audition.

There are no more future updates for iPhone 3G. There is probably a hardware issue with your phone that an update would not fix.

Nokia hasn't given a clear date for the release of the update. But symbian belle phones 700 and 701 have started shipping. We can expect symbian belle hopefully in December 2011. If it gets delayed like Anna then the release may move to first quarter of 2012. Hope this answers your question to Atleast some extent.

Can you not now set a silent ringtone for an individual contact? I can by opening the contact and changing the ringtone. Only prerequisite is to download or make a silent ringtone (Google should provide any information you need) and sync it to your iPhone.

I am having problems opening iTunes... is a new update coming?

My iTunes still does not open after I upgraded to the latest OSX software. When is a new upgrade coming? I've been forcing the application to open by showing package contents, right clicking the app and forcing it... but it's a pain.

There's always an update coming...

Another Premiere CS4 Update Coming Out?

I've read (forgotten where) there was another update coming out soon. Anyone know anything about that? There are several capture card (PC) suppliers--AJA, Bluefish, Blackmagic--that have yet to issue drivers for CS4 supposedly because Adobe has another update they're having to deal with.
Those of us running one of those cards and who upgraded to CS4 have a severe case of the blues not being to use CS4 since it came out; a very long time ago. The cards' manufacturers blame the extended delay on Adobe, of course.

As an old Adobe customer, I have neither delusions or illusions about how long it takes them to stabilize their apps, and I always wait to see how many of the immediate updaters are crying because something that worked was broken in the latest update before taking the plunge! :)

I have this happening to me too... it is frustrating enough for me to pitch my computer out the 4th floor office window. I found somewhere on these forums a solution which worked for me, but only for a short time. I'm back to having this stupid glitch. Anyway, the "temporary" solution seems to be to boot into Safe Mode by holding the Shift button down when you hear the startup chime, then let go when you see the Apple logo on the screen. You'll see you've done it right because it'll say Safe Mode somewhere on screen (upper right hand corner?). Restart again normally and your Mail should be free from these weird demons, but they'll be back.

Got the update this morning and ever since the Google Now voice integration basically doesn't work anymore. Here's what's happening:
I first thought that it was freezing and then rebooting the phone, which it definitely seemed to do a couple of times, but the main pattern is this.
I'll say the "OK Google Now" phrase and get the prompt for "Yes?" and say something as simple as "What time is it?" and it will pop the result up on the screen, but will not give the voice response as it used to do. Then basically as soon as the phone's screen turns off either via timeout, or manually turning the screen off with the power button. The phone stops responding to the on/off button, no active display, or anything. I noticed though by doing the "camera wrist twist" function, that I feel the vibration for the camera app being opened. Nothing ever appears on the screen though. I can press the part of the screen where the "onscreen" back button would normally be showing and exit out of the camera app, and do the wrist twist again and lauch the app again, and repeat this process over and over again, but still with no screen display until I hold down the power button and reset the phone. I also had one instance where the phone froze when trying to answer a call as well.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
It mainly just seems to be related to the Google Now integration. I took it to one of the local Verizon franchises and was told if a soft reset didn't fix it, that I would have to try to factory reset it, which I'll do if I have to, but it just doesn't seem like that should be the case. I was using a 3rd party laucher "Nova Laucher" and I disabled it, and that didn't resolve the problem. I've also removed the phone from the case I have it in to insure it wasn't something with the case, and again, that didn't help the problem either.

Itunes Update Coming?

As I noticed for the Iphone 4 here http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html, on the Mac System Requirements, it says you must have a Itunes 9.2 or later. And I clicked the free download link, but the only Itunes available is Itunes 9.1.1 for me to download.
Now does this mean an update is coming or is the update already out? I checked for updates on Itunes on my Mac OS X 10.4.11 right now and it says Itunes 9.1.1 is the current version.
Can someone please advise?

My guess is that iTunes 9.2 (the version which will support iPhone 4 and iOS 4) will PROBABLY be out on the release date of iPhone 4, or maybe a day before. So when you do pick up your new iPhone, just be sure to run Apple Software Update first and download the new version and you will be good to go!

have you logged in and out of the App Store, and or restarted
all the usual suspects.
you can clear the 30 day update list in the App Store by
trashing the updatejournal.plist found here.

With the issues from the recent update, will another one be coming soon to correct them? Some of my web pages will not show correctly now.

Shucks! It's no fun staring at blank pages. Let's get this fixed. This issue is not listed as an known issue with this software update. Does an error message appear on the page? Are these pages that include Flash? Post some additional details please.
