4.5 hrs iPad 2 still synching/backing up!
Sure taking a long time synch/back up iPad2. It still reports it's on step 1 of 6, so I have no idea how long this will take, even days?
I wish Apple would fix this obvious problem. Meanwhile, what do you do? I'll probably have to cancel in another few hours. I'd feel more secure if I could get it backed up, but I'm subject to Apple's creation.
Any ideas as to possible solutions would be appreciated.

OK? I had synched the ipad with a usb connection on the back of my Apple monitor. Thought, there could be a problem, because that connection is a little indirect. So decided to use direct usb connection on the computer itself. Noticed it started it's synch on step 2 of 6, and appeared to be going through the steps & finished in about 10 minutes. But....got some error messages. So tried again a couple more times, including restarting itunes.
At step 5 of 5 got these messages: "itunes could not back up the ipad because a session could not be started with ipad." Oh, I see? And: "itunes could not synch information to the ipad because another synch session was already running." OK? Well, there you have it.
This is all beyond me. I guess I'll just hold off for a few days & try again, probably need to restart the computer.

Synching borrowed iPad and then synching back
My iPad is dead. Won’t charge. Tried everything posted on these boards, and nothing has resolved my problem, and it is just two weeks past its 12 month warranty. Oh glory be.
Bear with me, this is my crazy question:
My husband has an iPad that he doesn’t use much and has graciously said I can use his until I can get a new one. Can I synch his iPad to my itunes to get my programs and such on it (I assume it will delete his stuff). Then, when I get my new iPad, can I re-synch his iPad BACK to his itunes and it is his again?
Will that work? The reason I can’t get a new one right away or get it fixed right away is I live in the Caribbean where no store is insight. Will be back stateside in December. Don’t want to do anything until I know he can get his resynched back to his itunes and vice versa.
Can you tell I am addicted to my iPad?
Thanks. If the movies are no longer available in the iTunes Store, you cannot download them again.
If you have certain content resticted you may not be able to download them again. Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content>Movies.
Any more hints from you as to what you are actually and specifically doing in actual context - that might make it easier to offer help? -
Can I use iphoto on ipad app and synch changes back to my mac?
can I use iphoto on ipad app and synch changes back to my mac?
No, changes done on the iPad will not sync back to iPhoto on your mac.
But you can transfer the edited photos back to your mac - share them to the camera role or send them by mail. Any edited image you add to the camera roll can be imported into your iPhoto Library, when you connect your iPad to yourmac via USB.
But there is no real syncing of iPhoto libraries on your mac and IOS devices.

My ipad just froze on me with an error message "this ipad hasn't been backed up for 2 weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi. All this has been done including trying to backup via itunes (on my PC). all this still doesn't solve the problem. Anyone have a possible solution?
Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down together until you see the Apple Logo.
Note: You must hold both buttons down together. -
Hi, the App Store icon has been removed from my iPad even after synching and updating. Any suggestions on how to get it back to be able to update / purchase apps?
If you do not have, or remember, the passcode for Restrictions, the only option available to you is to reset the device to factory settings via itunes.

I plug in my iPad and make sure it is connected to the internet and locked. I still get "This iPad hasn't been backed up in (N) Days" What am I doing wrong?
Is the iPad plugged in to the mains ? You can force a backup via Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Back Up Now
If the 'hasn't been backed up' message is stuck on the screen and you can't clear it then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. You can then force a backup as above. -
If let the guy from the apple store set my iPad on thei computer in the store
Will the iPad still synch with my home computerYou will be ok if you do this. When you get home with the iPad - do not sync until you transfer purchases if you download apps and music on the iPad before you get home and sync to your computer.
Launch iTunes on your computer and go the menu at the top - iTunes>Preferences>Devices> and check the box at the bottom of the window that says Prevent iPods, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically. Then quit iTunes.
Connect your iPad to your computer and launch iTunes if it does not open on its own. Right click on the iPad name or music that you downloaded into your iTunes library. While you are still in iTunes you can then select the music, photos or whatever other content that you want to put on the iPad in all of the different tabs in the iTunes window at the top. Make sure you check the appropriate headings in the various tabs - such as "Sync Music" - then select the playlists or albums that you want to sync and then you can sync. -

Whilst synching to my PC it said there was a software update for the iPhone.
It is now stuck with a message saying connect to iTunes. I've tried resetting it in various ways but it still comes back to Connect to iTunes, but it won't.

photo's and video is taken up most of the room on my ipad they have been backed up. Can I delete and they still will be in icloud
Don't use iCloud to back up your photos or you will lose them. Instead, import your camera roll photos and videos to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. You can then delete them from your iPad if you wish to free up space.

I have an IPad 2 and when I woke it up it gave me an error message on the desktop: "iCloud backup: This IPad hasn't been backed up in 3 weeks. Backups happen when this IPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi." I have done all of these and it still doesn't allow me to get rid of the error message. I even connected the IPad to the computer and attempted to back it up using the Web but it still doesn't get rid of the message. Help!
Reset your iPad to clear that condition:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
