4.6.1.128

Just loaded the 8350i 4.6.1.128 update. which from what I understand is suppose to fix the mms issue they are experiencing. after the reload the master reboot and  re registering still nothing. Anyone else have any insight ?

I just upgraded two 8350i's in our fleet to 4.6.1.128.  Here's what I found so far:
-Bluetooth is greatly improved (voice dialing actually works through a bluetooth headset!)
-A few "cosmetic" improvements
-Direct Connect is broken as is the "Manage Connections" feature which always reports the network as being "On" regardless of the actual state.
Here is the biggest problem we have had (and we duplicated it on two phones):
After updating the software, the device reconnects to all networks but will not allow direct connect calls to most phones on our account.  The device does report the correct PTT number for itself at this point.  We did a master reset on the phone(s), could not restore network connection and did a battery pull.  Following booting, the device reports 0*0*0 as the local PTT number and can now direct connect other phones in our fleet but only if the urban and fleet ID's are NOT specified (i.e. xxx*yyyyy*zzz will not work but zzz work--even though the urban ID (xxx) and fleet ID (yyyyy) are/should-be identical.  As an interesting--and possibly unrelated sidenote--a "Provisioning [PROVISIONING]" service book appeared--we did NOT have this with the prior firmware.
We repeated this problem on both phones at separate times and currently have a network support ticket in with Nextel though I am convinced the problem is software-related.
In short, DO NOT UPGRADE to 4.6.1.128--it fixes lots of bugs, but introduces even more headaches!
Has anyone else had any expeirence with the upgrade or any ideas on our direct connect problem?

Try again with Vista 32bit, 64bit is highly unstable and only a few have it running stable.
I've been running Vista x64 for the past nine months, and now with my K9A2 P--and have had no problems.  I mean, none.  Have not had any occasion to even consider reinstalling Vista x32. Vista x64 has been stable as a rock for me consistently since I installed it.  Would not consider going back to XP under any circumstances.
There is a problem with Beard0's system that I would say boils down to device drivers or faulty hardware or some combination thereof.  His experience is dramatically different from my own, and the problems he's having are not indicative of my experience with Vista, whether x86 or x64.

  • MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128 DDR (Direct3D problem)

I bought the MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128 DDR just today and I seem to be experiencing Direct3D issues.  I never have problems with general use of the video card, but when I try to play games that require 3D acceleration I get crashes (Blue screen of Death).  The reason why I think it is the Direct3D is because I only get problems when attempting to run 3D accelerated games, and I've downloaded a couple video test programs off of the net and they have crashed when testing 3D as well.  ?( I just ran dxdiag and it failed when I test Direct3D:
Direct3D test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x887602eb (error code)
Questions:  Has anyone had this issue before and is it fixable without me returning the card for a different one?
    Thanks,
     Brent

Sorry about that, I should have put that in the first message.
I run Win 2000 server and I did a clean install (format drive) when I got the new video card. I have a Pentium 3, 800 Mhz 256 MBs RAM.  The motherboard is an AOpen AX3S with all Intel chips.
My previous video Card was an ATI Rage Fury 32 MB and it ran all my games with Direct3D, but usually with low frames per second.
The only thing I changed was the video card and the drivers of course.  I'm really trying to avoid sending the card back.  ;(  Any suggestion would be helpful..  Thank you!
    Brent
P.S.  I tried to run that 3D Mark program that people use to test their video cards and that failed before it finished, so my score must be 0.

  • MSI ti 4200 128 MB and Problems with "Need for Speed: HighStakes"

Does any one know of a fix for "Need for Speed: HighStakes" with the new 45.32 drivers. When trying to start this game it won't even load, the screen goes dark for a second and then falls back to the desktop. Did the same thing with 43.45, but if I install the drivers that came with the Video card ( I think they were 31.XX) then the game works fine. Haven't come across any other games that won't run except this one, some examples that work fine are UT 2003, C&C: Generals, Warcraft 3, Hot Pursuit 2.
    System:
XP pro OS (sevice pack 1) DirectX 9
    Athlon 1800
    512 MB RAM
    MSI nforce 2 Main board
    MSI GeForce 4 4200 ti 128 MB 8X AGP
    Thanks for any info.

well I "bugged" the game makers (EA) and the response is that the game doesn't suport Windows XP. Strange that the older nVidia 31.xx drivers work fine with the game. Also played it on my last machine which had XP and a ATI radeon video card. OH well who ever said Direct X was supposed to be backward compatible.
Too bad the older drivers don't work so well with the newer games.

  • MSI Ti-4200 128 MB possible overclocking problem

    I have a:
    QDI Kudoz 7E/333A mobo
    AMD Athlon 2000+ (Palomino)
    MSI Ge-Force Ti-4200 128 MB
    512 MB Ram@333
Maxtor 160 GB HDD UATA 133 8MB Cache
Western Digital 40 GB GDD UATA 100 2MB Cache
    SB Live Audigy 2 NX
    Nec DVDR/W 3520
    Nec DVD-ROM 5500
    Windows XP SP 2
    NVidia Detonator (Forceware) 66.93
    Coolbits2
I had overclocked my Ti-4200 to 285MHz Core and 585MHz RAMDAC using the coolbits registry key (boot settings). Everything worked fine for about a month, I have ran several 3DMark tests (mostly 2003) and many "heavy" games (Doom 3, Far Cry, HL2, Warhammer:DOW, etc) and no problems occured (crashes or weird graphics). The 3DMark 2003 score from 1500 now is 1700 and I am (was) quite happy about it. Yesterday I removed the 512 Ram and re-installed it after a while (had to remove the card also) and the PC, without having any problems at all (I was playing Dungeon Siege a few hours ago) suddenly, while in BIOS and DOS, the screen is filled with white dots (looks like Pac-Man    ) and while loading the XP logo I see thin vertical lines (red and yellow) and then the monitor closes while the PC still works. I tried running in safe mode, it loaded but I still had these lines on the screen. I removed the DVD-ROM and the WD HDD just in case (350W PSU) but still had the same story. I installed a Club 3D Radeon 9600 Pro 256 MB and everything worked fine. I didn't install any Catalyst Drivers, I removed the coolbits from the registry and the NVidia drivers, re-installed the Ti-4200 and still I have the same problem. The card looks fine, no broken pins or anything. I also thought about a virus but this can't be, I triple-checked everything I installed and no viruses were found (and the Radeon worked).
I fear the overclocking was not so good after all but I can't be sure.
    Any ideas?
    Thanx in advance.

Proves a theory im made at least, MSI makes cheap / fault video ram, your card is a gonner pretty much, those vertical lines and monitor shuitting down are known as screen corruptions that occur when the video ram is fried (in most cases), did you overclock it by 10%? Im wondering if you can RMA a card since MSI does guarentee 10% overclock on some cards so I here but I cant be sure, someone else needs to answer that question as for MSI, if your going to overclock, dont buy from them, Im quite peeved at MSI because the memory on their cards cant even handle stock speeds let alone overclocked ones.

These 6-pin cords are readily available for not much money, but the searches are toturous, often involving references to the G5. Like this one from Amazon (US):

  • 128 MB video ram on a macbook pro - enough to drive the new 30"?

128 MB video ram on a macbook pro - enough to drive the new 30"?
meaning, can it do this well???

Even 16 MB VRAM would be enough to display a 2D picture on the 30".
Depending on 3D usage you need much VRAM.
Unless you are using a lot of the latest 3D games or Apples 3D pro apps (Motion/Shake or something like that) 128 MB should be fine.

  • Code 128 Barcode printed from Application Express

    Hi,
My colleague and I have written a procedure to generate Code128 Barcodes. These appear fine on the screen within Application Express 3. But when we export the file as an RTF or PDF document to our BI_Publisher server running under LINUX RedHat the Barcodes are greyed out and cannot be seen.
Anyone any ideas on how to solve this? It is extremely irritating only to be able to offer our users the ability to print the Application Express page off rather than a proper document.
    Thanks

    Hi kcbemssr,
I don't know weather you can see this reply, but i still want to say something about this.
Did you used another type of code 128?
you can try this. and here is a site i recommand you, it's all about barcode, you can get code 128

  • How can I access more than 128 mb in an internal harddrive

    Howdy folks,
I just bought a 250mb hard drive through ebay.
My understanding is that I cannot install an internal hard drive larger than 128 in a g4 sawtooth.
Do I have to install it as an external, or is it possible to use it as an internal 250mb.
    Thanks,
    Eric M.
PS- I just disassembled my video card's fan and lubbed it. It is as quiet as can be now. It's a 15 miute job. Thanks to the person who posted the original idea.

    Eric:
You can add additional drives down the line if you desire. The best advantages of the card option is that it natively supports large drives; provides a faster drive bus that the ATA-66 bus that's on the logic board; and it also provides this faster bus operating independent of the native one, meaning that when your two drives need to communicate with the CPU, one doesn't have to wait for the other as would be the case if both drives were on the same bus/ribbon cable. Secondarily, if (heaven forbid) your native bus goes bad, the one on the card will continue to let you use the Mac. The software solution doesn't allow for any of the above, except for the use of large drives.
The Newegg site has an Acard ATA-133 PCI card which is Mac-compatible for roughly $60 and is pretty widely used, but the Sonnet still seems to be the card of choice for most folks here.
    Enjoy!
    Gary
ps: BTW - If you save up and beef up your RAM, you'll likely see a noticeable difference in the speed of your Mac.

  • IPhone 6 Plus 128 Availability Updates (will be updating as I continue making contact with Verizon and Apple retailers)

I figure I would compile a list of things I have heard from Verizon reps as well as Apple retailers for anyone curious
First Contact:  Verizon Wireless Preorder 9/12 for 6+ 128 Space Gray made at 12:17am PST at full-retail.  Small chat with representative about placing order.  "Deliver By: 9/19" throughout ordering and on confirmation page.  Email confirmation 1:52am, with delivery date changed to 10/7.
Second Contact:  Online Chat with Verizon rep about order.  Verizon rep confirms nothing more than what the email stated, and what the "Status Update" on the VZW Website provides (an infinite "your order is processing, no shipping date available").
Third Contact:  Direct message to Verizon rep.  Also completely useless.  Does not provide any more information regards shipment.
Fourth Contact:  Call up Verizon Customer Service.  Woman reiterates shipment date, but also adds that my order processed at 1:52am - the same time my email confirmation was sent.  So 2+2 means that whenever confirmation emails are received is when your order is processed.
Fifth Contact:   Call up Verizon Customer Service again.  Ask more about my shipment and why it would be that others who placed their orders for the exact copy of my phone after me, received tracking numbers before me.  Was told that it depends on which warehouse your order was sent to.  Some warehouses have more of certain phones than others.  Ask what the random number for my order location translated to geographically (city, state) and was told that as part of a non-disclosure agreement that information cannot be released.
Sixth Contact:  Call up local Verizon Wireless Retail Location.  Representative states that 6+ 128 models will not be available in store at all for 9/19.  Suggests that perhaps Best Buy will have the phone in stock on release day.
Seventh Contact: Call up Best Buy and manager was kind enough to explain that pre-orders made through Best Buy are actually pulling from the inventory from the store.  Also explains that 6+ models are not even able to be pre-ordered because of lack of supply via Apple and therefore will not be in store locations at all.
Eighth Contact:  Call up different Verizon Wireless Retail Location.  Representative explains that in-store locations will not know which models will be available in-store until the night before, because the shipments have not been made yet, much less fulfilled.
Ninth Contact: Call up ANOTHER Vzw Retail Location.  This was the most helpful representative of all.  This rep explains that no matter WHAT kind of shipment the corporate stores receive, these phones are reserved for people who upgrade/add a new line/etc, and will not be sold to people who opt for the month-to-month option for full retail.
Tenth Contact:  Call up another Best Buy location.  Rep doesn't know much of anything.
Eleventh Contact:  Call up Apple Store located inside of a mall (because I cannot feasibly wait in a line overnight; I have twin 18mos old sons, so an in-mall location seems like my best option).  Rep does not know what mall procedure will be as far as lining up.  Does not know quantity of phones coming, but does know that EVERY model will be available for purchase at first-come-first-serve.
Twelfth Contact:  Call up another in-mall Apple Store location.  No lines inside of mall (duh), and nearest entrance door will be opened prior to mall hours at 8am.  All models will be available for purchase in store in unknown quantities.  Check out process takes 15-20 minutes, including transfer of all information from one phone to the new phone.  If I do not want to wait in line in store, I can call the store location and make my order over the phone at 8am and pick it up in store later that day with my confirmation number and ID.
So that's that then.  I plan to try and get my hands on a phone this Friday by going to an indoor Apple location, and if I am successful I will be cancelling my Verizon order regardless if I get a tracking number by then or not (although I doubt I will).  I know that most VZW Reps are responding from prompts, but you think that the prompts would provide the same response for the same questions, or even that Verizon would have come out with an official statement regards this whole mess.  I guess that's asking for too much, though.
What's everybody else's plans and experiences?  Inspired or made aware of anything from my experiences?

Yeah, that's a possibility but after the responses from the Apple locations and the guarantee that my model will be available for purchase at FCFS, I don't think I'll have much to do with Verizon locations regards it all.
I think the reason you're receiving yours on Friday is you are east coast whereas I am west coast.  I think there was some truth to the Fifth Contact's response and that it also depends on the warehouse the order is coming from.  My warehouse is more than likely different than yours and probably has a larger demand/smaller supply than your warehouse.
I live in Southern California, and my county alone has 3.1M people.  The four surrounding counties have 10M people, 2.3M people, 2.1M people, and 3.2M people.  iPhone is king out here as far as phones, so I'm chalking it up to supply/demand in my warehouse, and that my order was processed much later than many others in my area.
I'll check back on my order tomorrow and Thursday, but unless I have a notice that shows it going out for delivery on Friday by being at my local FedEx facility, I'm going to an Apple store, getting a phone there, and cancelling my order with Verizon.

  • Does anyone have any new recommendations to help iTunes recognize that my 128 iPhone and 128 iPad aren't 16 GB models?

I have suffered from this problem for years, but since upgrading to 128 iOS devices in September, the mysterious iTunes/iOS hidden data disease has gotten intolerable. Here's the deal:
I use my iPhone and iPad mostly for media consumption. I don't have a ton of apps. I have lots of videos, music through iTunes Match, and a few pictures. I'm one of those dinosaurs who doesn't use the cloud but downloads it, stores it, and syncs it via USB frequently (which I would bet is the root of my problem). Although I have a large capacity devices, I sync almost daily. And each time I sync, my displayed free space and the space iTunes allows me to use differs more and more. Old fixes used to involve such things as restoring the devices, turning off automatic syncing, turning off photo syncing, turning off other syncing apps, etc. And these things were temporary fixes.
Let me give you an example of what I mean by temporary. It has been exactly eight days since I last restored my iPad to brand spanking new, retaining nothing. In those eight days and approximately eight or nine manual USB syncs, each with an average of 60 GB transferred, I mysteriously have managed to lose 40 GB. This afternoon during my most recent sync, iTunes showed 86.3 GB free. However, as usual, it wouldn't sync anything close to that. By the time I had whittled my selections down to an acceptable amount, it still showed I had 47.2 GB free both in iTunes and in Settings on the iPad. Yet when tested it by trying to sync a 50 MB app, it said there was not enough available space. In days past, problems like this would take weeks or maybe even months to accumulate. And the culprit would usually be the "Other" category. When that happened, the remedies I described would help. This new beast is something else, though. Like I said, this took only eight days.
I finally decided to post something, though, after I reset my iPhone to factory settings this evening. When I was syncing the initial apps and videos, it would not let me sync more than 30 GB of material. I don't know what to do, guys. I bought the maximum capacity devices because I like my HD content. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? If you say I just need to sync less, (1), Apple needs to get its act together, and (2) It might sound crazy, but I can probably only push it to 2 days, so I'd only be postponing my problems a few days.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere. I have spent time searching, but all I found was the answers I have already tried numerous times.

I got my baby iPhone the day it came out. Seriously, I love it. I'm not really mad about the price drop, a little frusterated, but I knew what I was getting myself into when I purchased mine so early. But, now that I know there are ringtones in the future, I just can't wait.
So basically, does anyone know for sure when we will be able to get the ringtones? And what about iTunes on the iPhone, when will that pop up? I'm sure these questions have been posted already, but I just can't seem to find a sure answer.
I'm worried that it is just my iPhone/computer that can't find the update to get all the cool new feautres, any help?
    thanks in advance!
Sit tight, once it's out you WILL KNOW. The Apple Discussions will be bombed!

  • More disk space from 128 GB Yoga 13 (I just found 3.8 GB for my use!)

If you have seen my previous post about only getting 101 GB instead of 128 GB and how I tried to combine my C: and D: and now have a total of just 97GB, I have an update and more questions:
        http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-IdeaTab-Slate-Tablets/Yoga-13-Where-is-my-128GB-drive-I-just-see...
So, I saw a post about using diskpart to fix 2012 vintage Yoga 13 drive allocation issues and played around a bit last night.
After I messed up my computer by backing up all the crud in the d: drive to my main computer and deleting the partition and attempting to merge it to my c: partion, my machine looked like this:
    1000 MB Recovery Partition
      260 MB EFI System Partition
    1000 MB OEM Partition
96.91 GB NTFS (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition
    8 GB Primary Partition
    12 GB Recovery Partition
My guess is that the last two partitions are the Intel rapid start and the onekey backup respectively.  I think when I lost my 4 GB that it grew the original 4GB Intel rapid start to 8GB.  Since I only have 4 GB of DRAM, I think 8 GB is a waste unless I swap out the memory card.
Anyway, The 12 GB recovery partition does not have a drive letter assigned so I played around with the diskpart tool (help actually listed the commands).  Below are the commands I executed.  Note that the sel part 7 would be sel part 8 for those who have not successfully or blew the merging of C: and D:.  The bottom line is to select the number of the last partition with 12 GB of space.  Then assign a drive letter to it so that you can access it through windows.
get command prompt (search for prompt) and enter the first three commands below
    diskpart
    sel disk 0
    list part
sel part 7  (Note: most folks would use 8 to get the last partition listed)
    assign
Now there is a D: with 3.8 GB free!  I should mention that as soon as I typed assign, the my Comuter explorer screen added a D: that said it has a 12GB drive with 3.8 GB free.  Very cool.  I added and removed some files in a new directory I created to confirm that it worked.  I believe that you should not do any OneKey backups to the local disk if you want to keep this space for your own files.  But I can't say for sure.
It would be part 8 if you did not already delete the D: drive.
I did the same thing for part 1 and now have a drive E: with 529 MB free.
remove to get rid of letter (to hide it again)
I should mention that there seem to be some hidden files in the last partition as all the individual pieces did not add up to the total used.
I tried adding a drive letter to the 2nd last partion (which I think is the Intel Rapid Start partition) but it would not allow that.  Same goes for the 3rd (OEM) partition.
The question that I have is that I am quite happy with the boot time and don't believe I will ever use the Intel Rapid Start feature.  Is it possible to uninstall that lovely software, delete the partition, format it and reclaim the space?  Or, will this cause me to just fowl up my machine?
I have performed the OneKey recovery using the little button next to the power switch trying to get my original d: back but the OneKey recovery, just restores the C: drive contents and does not mess with the partitions.
Off, hand it seems that since I backed up the drivers that were originally on c: that if I created a Window 8 recovery USB thumb drive that it would be possible to wipe the entire disk and do a "fresh" install with a single partition.  I think one person has done this but at this point, I'm afraid to break my one week old machine until I really need the space.  I have found that the read perfomance of the SD card is fast enough for storing working files, video and without a doubt MP3 files (very slow bandwidth needs).  So, it will be very cheap ($25) to add 32 GB of "disk" space and even cheaper in the future.
It would be great if someone who knew what they were doing could comment on my random thoughts as far as this is nuts or this is on the right track but you should do something different instead.
    Thanks.

I Installed another Msata 256gig drive and used Acronis true image and backed up my primary OS to an external drive. I immediately restored it to the 256gig drive and changed the BIOS to boot off of the 256gig drive.  Everything is working great but I am trying to figure out how to get rid of all those partition on the 128gig drive.  Window computer manager won’t delete the partitions and Acronis Disk Director won’t either.  Any ideas how I can dump those partitions?

  • Weird Character in Code 128 Codeset B Barcode

    Hello Everyone,
I am encoutering two issues dealing with barcodes in Crystal Reports 2008:
I have an old Seagate Crystal Reports 7 report that uses Code 128 Codeset B barcodes.  I have converted the report to Crystal Reports 2008 and have tried using the new built-in 'Change to Barcode' function and the old BarcodeC128B() function that the old report used to create the barcode. The barcode is set to use font 'Code128'.  However, in both instances, and when I start fresh with the built-in function in a blank report, strange characters are appended to the end of the barcode.  Most of the characters are capital A's with different accent marks over the character, and sometimes they are capital E's with accent marks.  These barcodes do not match the barcodes that are generated out of the old version of the report.  Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner to test to see if they are working the same, but my instinct says they would not work with these extra characters.
My next issue occurs when I export the report output to Microsoft Word.  The barcodes seem to change, i.e. they become smaller and the weird character on the end changes.  When I export report output from the old version of the Crystal Report to Word, the barcodes do not change.  Has anyone else experienced issues exporting barcodes to Word from Crystal Reports 2008?  I am using Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.3.5.925.  Thank you for your help.

    Hi Brian,
I'm not convinced yet that it's the code set.  I am using Microsoft Server 2008 R2, and the fonts have been copied to the fonts folder just as I have done on every other platform where I have needed to produce or view the UPCs.  I have copied a file with UPCs that were generated correctly from Crystal Reports 8 over to the server and the UPCs are displayed correctly, which tells me the font is working on the server.
I have contacted Azalea's technical support twice but I have gotten no response.  Has anyone else had a similar issue?
