4.8 GB space taken with only 85 Photos, How?

I only have about 85 photos on my iPhone but iTunes says that I have 4.8 GB of space taken up by photos and I don't understand why?

In iTunes what does the size of the 'other' category show? This can sometimes go bonkers with iOS 6.0 (excuse the non-technical term!). For me, restarting iTunes will cure this and will then correctly show the available usage and space.

Multiple events per date with only one photo each - Unwanted

I have the eyefi wireless sd card in my camera and it is setup to transmit my photos into iphoto automatically, which it does. However, the problem arises in that iphoto creates multiple events for the same date each containing only one photo. I would prefer that iphoto create individual events per date and have the multiples of that date's photos within. I thought I had the settings configured to do so as I have preferences set for autosplit events one per day but I still see events such as - July 3, 2008 - July 3, 2008 - July 3, 2008 - each with only one photo inside.
I am wondering if it is something in iphoto's settings or the way in which eyefi transmits the photos into iphoto.
Any thoughts?

I do not have a WiFi connection to my camera so can not test but am just guessing
I can think of two possibilities
- 1 - if you are taking the photos with the WiFi connected then each time you snap a photo it may be being sent which would be looked at as a new import and therefore create a new event - to stop this I believe you would have to not have a full time WiFi connection to your camera or somehow set the camera to send batched - not each one - iPhoto will take each batch into and follow the rules for making events for that batch even if you camera is sending many batches of One photo
- 2 - You have the preference for making batches set to one every two hours and there is a long time between photos - I'm guessing that #1 is more likely

If the iPhoto app is still in the applications folder it's possible the library just needs to be rebuilt. Use Apple's instructions in:

HT1386 I have been syncing my IPad to only one PC computer successfully for over a year. Now when I try to sync I get the message that the ipad is synced with another computer and can be synced with only one. How can I correct this?

Although I have synced my ipad to only one PC computer I now get the message that it is synced to another computer and only one computer sync is permitted. I have lots of apps on the ipad and do not want to loose everything by starting fresh with the ipad. How can I get the ipad to again accept my computer and sync successfully?

That will depend on the kind of album your photo is in.

When you edit your photo, the edited copy is added to the automatic "edited" album and the view switches to he edited album. But the photo should stay in its original album - do you see something different? Only if you want the edited photo in the camera roll and the photo strea as well, you have to save the edited copy to the camera roll again after editing, otherwise the camera roll will show the original and not the edted version.

HUGE Photo Library with only 66 photos

I have only 66 photos in my all photos from Camera. However, when I go to manage storage, my Photo Library is 1.5 GB. I tried multiple options by connecting to iTunes and such. When connected to iTunes, the storage meter shows as 1.5 GB 650 Photos. I have no idea where those photos are stored on iPhone, how to view them and get rid of them. Also Apps shows as 5.55 GB and I am pretty sure I don't have that size when all the apps combined. How to clean these up?

There have been similar issues reported. Restoring the iPhone fixes the problem.

I'm using Pages 09 trying to remove a blank page with only 1 section, how can I do that?

I'm currently working with a Word document in pages that has a blank page in it, that I'd like to remove. There is only 1 section in the document, page break or section break doesn't seem to effect it so I can remove it. I'm using Pages 2009 and OS-X lion. Any suggestions?

IMovie with only still photos - huge projection

I am creating an iMovie with nothing but still photographs which will be projected with good equipment for a full school gathering, meaning a pretty large to very large screen - my only experience has been DVD's for regular TV's.
My question is to get the best quality, what is the best format for photos - I did see someone said to take them into iPhoto(?) covert them to TIFF then save them to JPEG/RGB, I retouch all of these in Photoshop and will likely do my resizing and formats there...
So any thoughts on resolution and size? Should it fit a tv ratio? I foget what that is, but it would be nice to see explained by pixel dimensions!
I am a bit confused about the iPhoto or iDVD difference? My other problem is burning the dvd's now - my 17" took a dive and this iBook does not have a superdrive - do the older Lacie's work with DVD's... I am doubting so.
This will be a sorry excuse to break down and buy an intel, I am going through PowerBooks like candy

overall pixel size: 740x480 at 72dpi is the smallest size I would personally ever go with. The internal mike in a quiet room (like late at night with the refrigerator and the phone unplugged) is something that I have done under emergency conditions. If you are experimenting you have:
iMovie ... which I have difficulties recording with ... for me it quits too soon...maybe I'm not being loud enough..maybe my movies are too long and I'm running out of ram. I don't know.
QuickTime Pro works pretty good to record sound using your computer's internal mike
Garageband does a pretty good job of processing the voice by way of recording through the internal mike. That's what I've been using nowadays because it sounds so much better than iMovie or QTPro. Then you export it to iTunes then import it into iMovie. Real easy. It's a snap to do. Since you are wanting to record a cassette tape, I'd try all three ways to see if they do the job. If so, good. If not there are other kinds of ways to capture the sound. But then you go to the Garageband threads and see what's what there. One way or another, you'll get it. Maybe not instantly, but you will get it.
Again it's all experimental and how professional you want to be. Recording from you computer is not at all going to give a professional result. Especially of a cassette tape, because it can pick up the sound of the machine playing the tape. But, if you want to make a memory movie, it barely makes do. Making do isn't always the best way to go. But might be the only way you can go because of other limitations...of which I have plenty.
You really, really need to experiment to see how it looks...how it sounds. What works. What does not work. Especially with sound can be a stickler. A plague of a problem even. Even so, I made something not too long ago that I recorded via the computer's internal mike and tried it first in the bathroom...WAY too much sound bouncing off the walls there. The living room was picking up who knows what. But I went into the bedroom and it worked kind of okay in there. But it still didn't sound at all in the least bit professional. Even so, it did work for that particular project. In a quirky weird kind of way that I MADE it work.

IPad has "4.2G" of photos with only 46 photos?

I don't know if this is just a glitch or the photos take up a lot of space but my iPad always says it has 4.2G of photos. It isn't affected when I delete photos either. I don't know if maybe something else is included in the "Photos" section but this is really annoying. I deleted photo stream in the hope it would help but it didn't.

I updated my iPhone 4S to the iOS 5.1 software last Friday. I noticed on Saturday that only the photos I had taken with my 4S were gone. Where did they go when I syned my phone for the software update?

I still have over 1600 pictures on my phone that are there, only the ones taken from this device are missing. Where did they go when I syned my phone? I can't find them in my iTunes.

You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly, particularly before any update, restore, etc.
If for some reason you have failed to do this, tehn they are very likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup.

Image preview not working with 3rd party photo apps in iPhoto/Image Capture

I haven't had a problem until recently with the iPhone 4. Pictures taken with third party photo apps such as Shake It Photo or Hipstamatic no longer generate a thumbnail preview in either iPhoto or Image Capture. It's just a generic jpg icon. All pictures taken with Apple's camera app appear just fine. I also had a problem where I couldn't import any of the photos, but I restarted the phone a couple times and that seemed to fix the importing issue, but not the thumbnail preview issue. This is particularly weird because i've been importing pictures since the first day this phone came out, and it's only been doing this since yesterday.
I know a lot of people are having problems getting their iPhoto to recognize the phone at all or that there are photos on the phone, but is anyone else having the same problem as me? Any solutions? I have iPhoto 8.1.2.

I have this issue but didn't recognize it until I read your post. I thought it was 2 bad photos.

IPhoto shows and imports triplicates (triple duplicates) of iPhone photos – On iPhone only single photos shown

I recently plugged in my iPhone, only to see that when the contents of the device were shown in iPhoto, there were triples, or "triplicates" of every photo (this put the total around 10,000 photos). Meanwhile, on my iPhone's Photos app, everything looks normal with only single photos being shown.
I toiled over how to remedy the problem, and found I had no other choice but to spend the MANY hours syncing thousand upon thousands of duplicate photos/videos to my iPhoto library. I then broke down and purchased Duplicate Annihilator to clean up my now ruined library. Because iPhoto made all those duplicates, the file size compounded into many gigabytes. Duplicate Annihiliator had to run for hours before finally cleaning things up. It did it's job well, however the root of the problem still remains.
At the conclusion of transferring my entire library of photos from iPhone to iPhoto, I had the photos removed from the iPhone so I could start with a clean slate. I took a few sample photos and plugged the iPhone back in to iPhoto. Yet again, the dreaded triple duplicates, or "triplicates" of each photo I took show in the device preview window (i.e. I took 5, non-HDR photos, and 15 are shown—each repeated three times). If I proceed to import the collection, it imports triple of everything into my library.
Essentially, my situation now is: I have to import multiple copies of everything (takes longer), then I have to run Duplicate Annihilator each time to keep my iPhoto library from being a mess. Just wastes tons of time. How can I keep iPhoto from showing and importing all these multiple copies every time? Again, on the iPhone end, everything looks normal—only a single copy of each photo.
What I have tried:
Closing/restarting iPhoto
Checking for iPhoto updates (there are none, I'm on the latest version—which, as of this writing, is 9.2.3 629.52)
Deleting com.apple.iPhoto.plist from ~/library/Preferences/
Using Image Capture (triple duplicates still show in IC as well)
Disabling Photo Stream
Removing all photos and albums from iPhone

I am seeing this problem still, even after trying the Photo stream toggle trick that was mentioned. I have one otehr observation to add.
If I "Command"+select the first of each photo in iPhoto and then import those (choosing to Delete after import), then the next refresh of iPhone pictures oniPhoto will show all the photos (including the duplicates) gone. So basically something like this.
1) iPhoto - I see triplicates of pictures on my iPhone.
2) Command+Select the first instance of each duplicated picture.
3) Import the selected pictures. Choose to Delete the pictures after import.
4) Go back to iPhone in iPhoto. No more duplicates of the pictures I imported.
So this doesn't fix the problem as all the unimported photos still show triplicates, but al least I don't have to run a de-duper on my laptop now to eliminate triplicates.
This eliminates some of the hassle, but it's still a hassle.
I hope someone figures this out completely because it's making me hate iPhoto just a little bit.

Only 97 Photos On Finished iDVD

I did my very first iDVD slide show a while back thanks to help from many of you on this forum. I had about 130 photos on my finished DVD. That amount of photos would play on my computer just fine, but when I inserted the finished DVD into my DVD player that is attached to my TV, it cut off the slide show at exactly 97 photos each time. It would not play the rest of the slide show. I thought I must have too old of a DVD player so I tried it on a DVD player someone else had...same thing happened. Someone told me it is because the photos all need to to be "sized" the same to play on a DVD player. Is this true? I had to remove 30+ photos and re-burn iDVD's with only 97 photos exactly. There must be a way around this. Is there? Thank you once more in advance for any help you can offer.

I would suggest that you create your slide show in iPhoto or iMovie, and bring your slideshow into iDVD. If it is an iPhoto slideshow, you export it to your desktop as a Full Quality Quicktime movie, and then drag that movie into the iDVD main menu window. If it is an iMovie slideshow, you drag the iMovie project icon (the one with the star on it) into the iDVD main menu window.
At one time there was a 99 photo limitation on playback of iDVD created slideshows. Some DVD players will stop a slide show at slide no. 99, or the show will hiccup at that point. Other DVD players don't have any trouble. You stated that your limitation is 97 photos, but it still sounds like the old iDVD problem. But you might check the format of your 98th photo to see if there isn't some incompatability problem with iDVD. Is it a jpeg? If not, convert it to that and see if it works.

Whatever you read about iTunes is wrong unless you're actually referring to feature movies, not videos. Videos, apps, music and iBooks you can re-download:

Download to your computer and then sync to your iPod touch whatever will fit.
And no, I can't say with certainty that they won't give you a refund, but it's unlikely. The most probable outcome, if you do indeed mean movies, not TV shows or other videos, is that they would set up an additional download. For other content they'll probably just direct you to the same instructions on re-downloading I just posted.
