4 amp charger for iPad 3

Hi !
Do you think a 4 amp charger for iPad 3 could speed up the charging time?
It's dangerous. Ipad support ?
Thank's

"Since the iPad only draws 1 amp(10watts) it may cause the capacitors the leak excess voltage. Conclusion A 4 amp chager may cause a voltage spike destroying the iPad. I would suggest using the adapter that came with the IPad."
no this is 100% wrong
it's 5volts and watt == volt * amps
so ipad draws 2 amps
and it's draws! not being feed
it draws the amps out of the charger as much as it require
if the charger is able to supply 4amps or 40MEGA amps dont mean anything at all
it's all down to ohms law
volt spikes have nothing to do with how much amp a device can supply

  • 3 amp, 2-port charger for iPad & iPhone, where are they?

Why hasn't Apple (or Griffin Technology) released a 2-port travel charger for iPad & iPhone? Is it really that hard to design a 3-amp power block? It is a royal pain having to carry 2 power blocks, and a struggle to find enough outlets to get everything charging at once.
    Thanks!

This is my preference, by Belkin, because it has all of the bases covered; surge protector with three electrical outlets and two USB outlets. You can swivel the prongs on the back 360° with 4 locking positions. I take mine everywhere I travel.

    And I see that it available on Amazon for less than half off;

    Yes you can.

If you mean "can I get my power adapter replaced under warranty, at the Apple store?", yes.

  • Can i use new ipad charger for ipad 2 and vise versa

I have ipad 2 and i bought new ipad for my dad. Both ipads charge quickly with ipad2 charger as compare to new ipad charger.
So, my question is.. Is it okay to use new ipad charger for ipad 2 and vise versa...???

The iPad 1, iPad 2 and new iPad all use the same 10W charger.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Car charger for iPad

Has anyone discovered a car charger that actually works? I have tried two, claiming the necessary two amp output, but neither work at all.

An idea that's not a traditional charger. They sell inverters in stores, plugs you can put in the cigarette lighter/power point that turns it into a regular outlet. If you can't find a plug in one that works, you can  use the inverter and charge your iPad with it's regular plug in charger.
However, if you prefer just a charger have you tried ones by any of the bigger manufacturer's? Targus,  Belkin or Kensington?

  • Solar charger for ipad

Going on a two week camping trip and will not have electricty is there an approved solar charger currently of the ipad.

I'm seeing if the following setup works and would save hundreds of pounds I admit that charging the batteries may take a little longer than the other chargers. But if it save me 100's of pounds and also allows me to keep charging loads of battles for future use. Who cares.
Basically charger the 4or 2xaa batteries using the solar charger and USB battery charger.  Then use these batteries with the extender providing up to 10,000mah that should completely charge the iPad to full.

  • 10W charger for iPad and 8W for iPhone...

May seem a daft question (sorry!) but if I accidentally used the iPad plug for the iPhone, thereby charging it 2W higher than it 'should be', will it damage the iPhone? If yes, why do they look identical?! If no, I don't suppose it matters, just want to find out before I accidentally do it as I can see that day coming a mile off...!

Wattage is a measure of power, not of voltage.
The difference is the amount of power the adapter can provide.
"Excess" power is not an issue, the lack of power is.
So for example, if you try and charge an iPad with a lower wattage adapter, it may not charge at all or will take longer to charge.
But it will not hurt to charge your iPhone or iPod with the higher power iPad adapter.

  • Charger for ipad and iphones

I am loooking for some recommendations on a charger accessory.  We have 2 iphone 5s and an ipad air.  The iphones have otterbox cases.
They all using the lightening conenctor.  Right now we have a tangle of charging cables.
I am looking for some kind of charging system or dock that will decrease the clutter.  It needs to work with the lightning connector, handle 3 units (2 iphones and an ipad), and be able to charge them all simultaneously.  I have found it suprisingly difficult to find a good product.
    Any recommendations?

  • Charger for iPad 2

Why does the charger for the ipad split into 2? What is the other piece for?

The smaller peice can be replaced with other options, other nations use different power plugs, so it's modular for those markets.
Also you can use a standard two prong extension cable like used with a stereo/receiver/etc. to get longer reach.

  • Car charger for iPad 3

Can anyone tell me where I can buy an ipad3 car charger that will charge the iPad in use. I use my iPad as a satnav. Thanks

I use the Griffin Technologies Power Jolt 10 watt auto charger on my iPad. It's available from many places including Other World Computing.

  • Apple 12w charger for ipad

It has been my experience that the 10W adapter is not always capable of charging the iPad3 under intense usage.
these are situations I am referring to:
    1) using maps and GPS while connected to 4G.
My iPad will actually keep discharging even though more slowly.
2} watching Netflix while connected to an HDMI TV.
my iPad will barely recharge 7%
    3) multitasking; streaming music from 4G while using another app.
    4) basically the iPad gets charged best when not in use.
I believe I am not the only one experiencing this issue, and Apple knows it.
That's why they quietly introduced a 12W charger.
Would I be able to claim that the 10W charger can't fully handle the power
requirements of the retina display and request a 12W as a warranty replacement?
    Regards

You could make the request, but it probably wouldn't be granted. It's like asking an auto manufacturer to provide you a new engine when they increase the HP on a new model.
