planning on doing a recall/replacement on the iPhone 6 screen? My phone is 4 Days sold and alreafy has a giant scratch in the middle of the screen despite extra care and cover. Had my 5S for over 1 1/2 yr. and never had this issue. Very upset

It's not good but then it's not strictly a warranty claim as cosmetic issues with scratches doesn't make the phone faulty. Apple have never allowed a warranty claim for cosmetic damage. This is to be expected given the things halfwits do to phones and then try a 'free' repair. We had one here where the punter dropped the phone 2 floors off the balcony in a shopping centre, on to concrete and then demanded a new phone as the original was 'too flimsy' for normal use.... I have cosmetic damage with every Samsung phone I've ever had, using it for work gets it battered to hell in short order. The only option being a hard case. It sounds hard but pay the €100 for a new screen and invest in stick on screen protectors and a flip case?

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release...can take 10 ~ 15 seconds of button pushing.

5 days old iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4 battery life please help

My phone is 5 days old and i am so fed up with battery life. I disabled all data settings and location services and i have nothing in notification center for any push notification. But still i lost 40% of the battery in half a day with just 5 mins of voice call and 15 mins of texting. Phone was idle the rest of the time and when i used i had brightness at around just 10-15% this is my first iPhone and totally disappointed as i saw battery to last a full day of normal usage in the internet. I am totally fed up with apple. What should i do now ? I am a student and invested an year's savings of mine to get this phone. I am totally fed up. Someone please help me.

You have to tell us what your usage pattern is like, what your reception/signal strength is, and what network type you are using (E/3G/4G/LTE)
To note, the more the screen is on (in long intervals 2+ minutes) the shorter the battery life is.
Streaming music over 3G will last 6 hours if the screen stays off for most of that time.
Email, messages, web browsing will last most of the day.
Since you have GSM, your phone should last 10 hours with light usage.

My iphone 5s is 4 days old but the battery does not stay for one day. What should i do ? Is it normal that i need to charge it twice a day ? Im not using it everytime but still the battery get drained easily .

Black iPhone 5 sides already scratching.

I've had my 5 for under a week and there are already scratches and paint removed from the aluminum edges. Poor quality/design. I dread what my phone will look like in a few months.

Not a solution but I've found a black Sharpie marker works great to mask tiny/small scratches on black aluminum devices. Trouble is, with all the scratches that seem to be emerging on the black iPhone 5, it may soon be covered in Sharpie rather than anodization.

I used to have an iPhone 3GS, which I recently upgraded to iOS 5 and sold. This device doesn't have any of my personnal information inside anymore (several resets and reinstall iOS5 from an blank iTunes on a seperate computer) and doesn't have my chip inside anymore.
I am using a new smartphone (not Apple) now and when I text friends who have iPhone (with iOS 5 and iMessage), I receive some of the personnal responses on the old iPhone. It seems those messages are sent through iMessage...
How to avoid that? I sold this iPhone and I don't want the buyer to receive my personnal message + I don't want to miss them on my new phone!

I would suggest you read the user guide. There IS no Facetime App for the iPhone.

IPhone 6 screen easily scratched?

Have been taking EXTREMELY good care of my 6+, but the corners already have visible scratches. Anyone else experiencing this?

He gave you a very intelligent response. Cosmetic damage has never been covered under Apple's warranty.
Why did you not put the iPhone into a case or use a screen protector?

2 day old iphone 5s turns off at 95% battery life and will not turn back on. HELP

So I had an iphone 4s for two years, the battery started to not last as long, so with my upgrade I got the iphone 5s (greatttt). Anyways I had it for a month then all of a sudden I wasn't getting calls, it took over a minute for me to even get a call to send, then once I was on the call others couldn't hear me well, then it would drop (no problems with service, always happened with full bars). Brought it to Apple store, they told me it was a combination between the phone and my SIM card. They gave me a new one and recommended I go to verizon to get a new SIM card. That same day literally 3 hours later, the phone turned off randomly at 65% battery and WOULD NOT turn back on. I had to go back to the apple store, they restored my phone and almost gave me another new one. However they tested the battery and everything and came to the conclusion it was okay and that I needed to restore the phone and set it up as if I did not already have an iphone (not use icloud to bring EVERYTHING over) So we did that and it started to work, that was two days ago. Over the course of the last two days I have SLOWLY downloaded my previous APPS, however the only way to download those are to do it from the "cloud" because apparently I can't just get them from the app store. Well yesterday I got the blue screen of death, however it came back, I thought nothing except that it was over worked. Tonight it went down to 1%, I left it on the charger until it was at 96%. I had NO APPS open. Went to my calendar and added a event for tomorrow, put my phone down and then ten minutes later looked at it and its turned off. It will not turn on, I tried rebooting pressing both buttons, Ive plugged it back it, switched outlets, switched cords, NOTHING.
Of course I wish I never got the iphone 5s at this point.
What now?

2 day old iphone 4s 16g (daughter's) completely frozen..Help?

My daughter's iphone 4s is brand new; she has been using it for 2 days now. However, currently the screen is frozen black. I tried holding the sleep button w/ the round button for at least
15 seconds (which I have used as a quick fix before with my iphone 4); however, it is doing nothing. I tried connecting it to a charger in hopes that might do something---it is still frozen black.
     We have not synched her phone yet or connected it to itunes. (It hasn't been connected to a computer at all). We are on vacation and purchased it right
before we left for vacation. She basically has about 5 new games on it and has used the texting a couple of times. (I did set her up an itunes account).
     Any suggestions? She and I appreciate your help. I am so technically challenged and I really hate that. Thanks so much. Happy New Year!

HT4623 I keep getting error 21 when trying to restore and update my 4 day old iPhone 5?

I try to update and restore my new iphone 5 becasue it is stuck in recovery mode but i come across error 21 message every time during restore. VERY FRUSTRATING as i only got this wonderful product 3 days ago!

If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

QUICKEST way to sell a 5 day old iPhone 3G, 16GB??

I HATE this phone. I've had it 5 days and this is the biggest mistake I've ever made.

You can return an iPhone for payment credit within the first 30 days after the purchase date and cancel the contract with AT&T for the iPhone within the same period of time. 3 reinstalls on a 5 day old iphone 3G... continues....

Here is the whole story and I will update this page along with the fixes from Apple if I get any...
My phone froze when I:
1. Enable 3G and started safari, (I usually only use WIFI for speed).
2. Connected the iTrip FM transmitter and enable flight mode.
The phone did NOT freeze when the flight mode was OFF like it usually is.
3. Got an update for a application in the app store, and while
updating was in progress I got a SMS that I looked at and
then I clicked reply, THEN i frozed again.

I was lucky this time cause I have synchronozed the phone with all my apps in iTunes so I did not need to download all the apps again and reinstall them, BUT the restore took about 4 hours and 47 minutes and this is when I have 13,75GB of FREE space on my iPhone 3G.
The backup is pritty "fast" hehehe it only takes about 1 hour if you can call this fast
* I have reported this to apple and I will get answer tomorrow I think...

I would say you are quite lucky. Before i exchanged my 3g i did 12 restores in 3 days. I would have killed to do 5 like yourself. Since i have had an exchange my 3g is 95% better. STill signal issues though which hopefully Apple are working on. Glad to hear you are getting sorted.
