4 pin to 4 pin or 4 pin to 6 pin

I was told by SOny that I need an iLink port in order to download video onto my computer....and my camcorder has a 4 pin connection....what is the MacBook pro?

It depends on which model of MBP you have to some extent, mamamia23.
1) All of the Unibody models have a FW800 port. For this you will need a cable with a 9 pin FW800 plug on one end and a 4 pin plug on the other. See http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/1394B94036/ for example.
An alternative would be to buy a FW800 to 400 adaptor like This one, together with a standard FW400 6 pin to 4 pin cable.
2) The pre-unibody models all have a FW 400 port as well as FW800 . In this case a standard FW400 6 pin to 4 pin cable ( like this one ) will do the job.

Have you tried resetting both the iPod and dock? To reset the iPod, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
To reset the dock, unplug it and plug it back in.

Go to Settings>General>Passcode Lock>tap Turn Passcode Lock Off, enter your "pin".

Sounds like you've bought an upgrade version of Lightroom 5 and received an upgrade serial number.
The only way to use that upgrade serial number is if you already own a previous qualifying version of Lightroom and have a previous version serial number.
If you don't own a previous version, and this is the first Lightroom you've bought, then you'll have to return the upgrade version and buy a full version.

  • Symbol pins do not match my subcircuit's I/O pins

I am having an issue where the pin names of my subcircuit symbol do not correspond to the name of the pin in my subcircuit.
I've attached an image of the problem I am seeing.
The pin I/Os are something I'd expect to work right out of the package. Perhaps I am not doing something correctly? I tried to update with the Tools->Update HB/SC Symbols but it didn't change.
I am evaluating this software and am hoping to switch to it because the current system we are using has lots of bugs. I am using Proteus for my work right now, but I am hitting limitations with it, and was hoping to moving to a more professional package would mean better software stability. I am just running into bugs like this here and there which is making me a little unsure about my decision to change our EDA package.
Also, how long is it before these issues would be resolved by NI? With Proteus they usually release an update every few weeks to resolve issues.
    Any suggestions/updates?

Hi yes I should have posted this earlier. Please let me know if there are some easy ways to correct this. FYI this was originally created with 10.0 but I just got 10.0.1. The still seems to be messed up in 10.0.1 so maybe I did something wrong to cause this to happen?
One of the things I did was copy and paste the connectors rather than placing new ones.
Also I am having a problem with copy-pasteing a vcc line. I have a vcc net labeled v3 that is 3.3 volts (confusing right? multisim won't let me lable it v3.3)  but when i copy paste it, it auto renames to vcc @ 5v. Why is this? maybe I need a new thread for this seperate problem?
One more quick question. When I redownloaded 10.0.1 it keeps bugged me again about activate or evaluate. I am using an eval version, but I am wondering if every patch, will I need to activate? And what is the policy regarding updates? If I want to run on a desktop and laptop can I use one licence and activate on both? Does running in eval mode limit the program?
I remember a problem I had with Discreet (now Autodesk) where 3dsmax would not activate, and I had to wait over a extended holiday period to get techenical support. What was problematic was that since I had already been using the product prior to that (activated), I no longer had the chance to run it in evaluation mode (aparently their 30 day mode ticks away even after the program has been activated), so I could not use the program. They have since corrected the problem via a fairly comprehensive auto activation online with support 24/7 but I am wondering if NI's package may suffer from the same issues.
    Thanks for the info.

  • How to enter SIM PIN on a wiped IPad when you know the PIN?

My daughter somehow changed her PIN on her IPad this morning but has no idea what it is!  I tried to restore to factory settings, but it would not let me do this unless I turned off find my IPhone which I could not do because we do not know the password. I went to find my IPhone and tried to delete the device, but it would not do this since it was online.  I decided to wipe the IPad so I could then restore it.  That worked, but now the SIM is locked! I know the password to the SIM, but it just tells me SIM PIN locked please enter your PIN to unlock the SIM card.  My problem is that the box does not show up to enter PIN. There is nowhere for me to enter it! I tried logging onto itunes to do it there, but tells me the same thing with no place to enter PIN.  I am panicking because one of her Santa gifts for tomorrow is a digital makepver that you use with the IPad!!! Please help!

I use two ways - not very sophisticated
On my pop account, I set the preferences to delete mail on server immediately after download
On BlackBerry, I delete the mail account when I am near the computer and re-enter when I want mail

  • Problems setting up email + understanding Pin and BB internet service

    Hi,
I've been browsing for answers about my new black berry 9700.
When I try to set up my email on the phone it says. "Your email account is already activated for enterprise use."
I have no idea what that means.
I brought the Blackberry pretty much brand new, it was used for like a day.
the problem with that is I've never had a blackberry before and I don't know anything about setting up the email, blackberry internet service, enterprise, and the pin system.
Also, the other problem is that there are two icons for internet; Browser and WAP. I just want to connect to the internet via my wireless internet and not get charged, and want to know if I am getting charged.
     Please help.

    Shoulda done some reasearch first:
Using your WiFi router to connect to your 9700, you can use the WiFi hotspot browser ONLY to connect to the internet. You will NOT be able to use the RIM push email, Facebook app, BlackBerry Messenger, Maps, etc.
You MUST have the BlackBerry Data Plan on your service provider account for that.
Go to Options > Advanced > Browser and save that to HotSpot Browser.
Meanwhile, at Manage Connections, search for and connect to your WiFi router and you're set to go for the limited use you'll have.

  • HT204023 What is 'sim pin' under Cellular data on my iPad mini?  How do I use that and change cards from one country to another?

I have a new ipad mini with retina display, and cellular capability.
I've learned how to set up an account and use it in the US.  I'm now traveling internationally and need to learn about changing the sim card.
My first question is about the notation under 'settings', Cellular Data, SIM PIN.  Under SIM PIN, there is an option of turning on 'sim pin' and then entering a PIN to lock the SIM.
What does SIM PIN mean in the first place?
Where does the PIN number come from?
    Thankx.
    SusanFrances

A SIM PIN, also referred to sometimes as a PUK Code is like a PIN number for your SIM card (just like your ATM Card).  Since your SIM card has your cellular account on it and can be typically removed from one device and put into another, you can lock the SIM Card with a SIM PIN if you choose.  If you activate the SIM PIN feature and forget your SIM PIN when you try to re-activate your device or a new device in the future using the same SIM Card, you may have to contact you carrier to get a new SIM Card. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1316
As far as changing the SIM Cards out because you want to use a new carrier, you can remove the SIM card fomr the old carrier and put in the SIM  card form the new carrier. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5163
I hope this helps clear things up.

  • How to set-up Guest Client Wireless Access "PIN" with Restricted Access ???

This is my first time, and, I am not familiar with the rules.
Is it possible for someone to answer a slightly different question...
I just bought a TC and hooked it up to my cable modem. I have 3 computers that I want to configure, with the following requirements: WPA/WPA2 security all around, only the 3 computers I have to be allowed use of the TC, and, no listing of the network should appear on remote computers (i.e., a "closed network"). With these basic needs, the three computers I want to be in this network are listed below --- subject to the following ACCESS limitations:
    1. A G4 iMAC (10.5.5), wired to the TC via an Ethernet cable: FULL ACCESS; i.e., shared file access, TM back-ups, HP printer access, internet access;
    2. A MacBook (10.5.5), airport wireless access to the TC: FULL ACCESS, as the iMAC.
    3. A (new generation) PC laptop: VERY LIMITED access --- access only to the internet, so that the TC looks only like a "wireless router." Internet access available at any time of the day or week. It would be good if this client did not have to use any of my passwords, just a "PIN." Also, I do NOT want this PC client to see my printer, and, also, to NOT see my TC base station and NOT have access to my TC/TM disks. To set this up, I entered the PC laptop name and the "MAC" address using the Airport Utility. Then, I selected the "PIN" choice for access, so that this client need not have to ever use or know of any of my passwords. After I selected the "PIN" option, the utility asked me to enter the PC client's PIN. How do I obtain the PC's PIN? This is very confusing to me, so, I apologize to you all (I'm very new at this).
Hopefully, this TC-only network concern is within the guidelines to be answered.
    Thanks,
    David.

    Dear Smokerz,
Well, this is where I'm confused. I did use the Airport Utility. I went to the place where it asks for the PIN number. So, I made up an 8-digit number and entered it. I assumed that after I entered the number, it would prompt me to do something with the PC. But, the "Continue" button did not become highlighted. Hence, my confusion. Can you please be more specific as to exactly what I should do using the Airport Utility? The detailed instructions are vague to me, unfortunately.
Also, with respect to the PC Laptop: I only want it to have access to the internet via the TC (so that the TC acts as a wireless router). And, I want to set up restrictions for limited use of the PC: NO ACCESS to the HP printer, and NO ACCESS to the TM/TC (other than as a wireless router). As before, can you please be more specific as to exactly what I should do using the Airport Utility?
I must be missing a trivial menu item, so, again, I apologize.
    Thank you,
    David.

  • How can I remove a Device PIN from my account?

I sold my Q10. The Buyer is in my contact list and his data is always integrating in my own contact data including the PIN.
How can I unassign the BB PIN from my BBID Account?
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There actually were several steps that should have been conducted before selling it...refer:
Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
The on-device WIPE would have taken care of removing the association between that device and your BBID. Then you could simply use that same BBID on a different device, and that person would have no ability to use that same BBID since they would not know the password.
It is possible (a feature!) to have more than one device on a single BBID, but the result is what you are experiencing. So, I believe the only remedy is that the new owner needs to WIPE that device and start over, leaving you with sole control over your BBID.
    Good luck!

  • I want to see multiple pins on Maps app.  Is this possible?

Basically, I would love to be able to click on Maps app on my iphone, and depending on where I am, see the map and any bookmarks I have saved in my phone.  For example, if I wanted to pin all my contacts on a map and see pins on where they are, but ALWAYS stay there.  It's also usefull for places you want to remember, that you walk by, for example.  I want the pins to stay there..even if I exit the map.  Let's say for example I have errands to run.  So I look up the 6 places I need to go to on my bike, then make pins for them so the next day I can open up my maps app and, voila, there they are.
I've tried bookmarking pins, but this doesn't work.  After a while the pins disappear.  Does anyone know of a way to do this?
    Thanks!

I would LOVE a solution that allowed to see, perhaps greenish pins? that pull from your bookmarks. I usually drop a pin when i find a handy wifey. SSID+Street & Street

  • 2 probs,Neo2 no longer detects DVD drive in POST & Floppy slot missing pin? RMA?

Sorry for starting another thread but my first post wasnt very explanatory.
Here's my problems. My DVD/CD Drive is no longer being recognized by my motherboard in POST and it wont appear in Windows/My Computer. This started when I was troubleshooting what I thought was a faulty Floppy drive by reconnecting cables and reinstalling different chipset drivers. Somewhere during that stretch Windows froze during load for the first time in two weeks of ownership. Eventually I noticed not only is my floppy connection messed up (more on that in a bit) but my DVD drive was no longer showing up in My Computer. It powers on just fine, ejects properly. But the board isnt reading it for some reason.
I tried reconnecting the cable and rolling back to my original drivers. Checked if all the pins we're in the right place on the board and on the drive. I bought a new IDE round cable today to make sure the MSI round cable wasn't at fault. New cable didnt make a difference, still wont recognize the drive in POST or Windows. I cleared CMOS so the BIOS was reset, no difference. My HD is SATA so I cant test the IDE connection with a HD but its sounding more and more like the MoBo is the issue.
Is RMA my only recourse here? Would a IDE connection just go bad like that? Appreciate any suggestions on this, Id hate to RMA a board Ive barely used for 2 weeks.
As for the floppy I checked the slot on the board and sure enough I think Im missing a pin. The bottom row has the two empty pins, but the top row also has a pin missing which judging from the connection on the drive itself doesnt match up. There isnt supposed to be a pin missing on the top (right hand side) row correct?

I guess I jumped on the gun on the floppy missing a pin, thats indeed what it looks like. Thanks for that Supershanks. Perhaps my floppy problem is related to my IDE issue.
Thats correct, CMOS doesnt show it either. Ive tried both IDE slots, no dice. The new IDE cable I got has clear markers for System Board and Primary so Im pretty sure its configured correctly. I've had the BIOS at default since my drive was being detected just fine on the same settings before this went haywire. It just baffles me the connection would go on the fritz like this out of the blue.
Jon, it'll be my own by a Mr. Jack Daniels if I dont get this figured out soon.

  • How to find out the WPS PIN for WD100

HI, I just purchased the WD100-SL-DE, it is good but when I get it to connect to my windows8.1, there is a step to input the WPS PIN, I am not sure what the PIN is and how I can find it. Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hello to all the posters.
First, I'd like to state that I don't have the WD100. I made a mistake in another post, and gave the poster information on using WiDi. Still, the setup should be the same motif, regarding the PIN.
I think your problem is that the PIN should appear on your TV, by the time the software requests the PIN. You must have the TV adapter connected to the HDMI port, and that HDMI input selected on the TV, before running the program.
    Try this:
    1. Turn on the TV
    2. Plug the adapter HDMI output, into an available HDMI input on the TV.
    3. Select that HDMI port on your TV.
    4. Turn on the adapter, and wait for it to completely power up/boot.
    5.  Re-run the WD100 setup, or the install program.
    6. Watch the TV screen for the PIN. The TV needs to be paired (authenticated)  with your machine's program, before the screen will duplicate.
Some newer  TV's do not need the adapter, so I don't know how these actually work. Search your TV's manual for how to accept these type of connections.
As I've said, I don't own the WD100, and there isn't any info out on the net about setting it up. Was there any setup information included with your purchase? I'm basing my information about setting up the PIN, on what was required when I set up my WiDi. My PC did not need any USB dongle to use the WiDi. I only downloaded the latest drivers for Intel, and bought a Belkin Screencast adapter for my TV, then ran the WiDi setup. Also, once connected to the adapter, it should do an automatic firmware download. So wait until all the programs to load, before disconnecting.
Edit: Under Win 8/8.1 you may need to either share, or click the device share, before the PIN can be displayed on your TV, when you get to the screen to input the PIN in the program.
Let me know how it goes.
    Cheers
