4 playlists on iTunes/PC; only 2 will synch
I have four playlists in iTunes and only two will synch.
First I just did a regular synch, the 2 showed up.
Then I clicked the songs in the other 2 playlists and ran a synch for checked items.
My previously synched playlists disappeared and the others did not show up.
So I did an unchecked synch again, everything unchecked, and the first 2 playlists showed up, but the later 2 did not.
What's up with this??????

PS I have not yet updated to the latest os for the ipod touch, I just got the ipod a few weeks ago, so I assume I am using the os just before this one.
Re-synched with no checking, and half of the songs from the third playlist showed up in one of the previously synched playlists.... I am so confused! The machines seem to be confused?

Playlists on itunes vs only on ipod
i have playlists on my ipod but i have none in itunes. i rarely listen to music on my computer at home so i didn't see the point. i guess because of this i manually manage my ipod. my photos are sync'd and update when i plug in. my other things (podcasts, videos, movies, audiobooks etc) are not.
i was reading an article about itunes that said it communicates with the ipod and knows what you have listened to and can keep track. well because i am not sync'd i guess it cannot.
because i am not sync'd and my play counts do not match i was thinking about creating a smart playlist that i could sync. when i created it and was going to select it to sync i got the message that i wasn't tied to that itunes and that it would replace all my ipod content.
i've always used this itunes with only this ipod and my photos do sync. is it possible for me to create 1 playlist that does sync or am i out of luck? i have lots of things on my ipod that i no longer have in itunes and do not want to lose.

my ipod touch 32gb (3rd gen) died so i bought a replacement, i got a 64 4th gen from ebay. the new one was reset to factory settings and the simple back up from library set up looked easy.
it was and i was happy, until that was i realised that only a 3rd of the songs synced, i have tried several things.
unchecking the Sync music box on itunes and removing all songs, syncing, rechecking the box then resyncing, no joy.
i tried reseting all warnings and clearing the cashe (prefrences- advanced ) no joy.
i tunes is upto date.
im getting desperate.

1) My ipad Air is brand new, and I'm trying to sync my iTunes library from an older Mac (10.6.8)
2) All of my PURCHASED music syncs successfully -- no problem there. BUT ... none of my CD music from the 1990s, or my friends' music from their CDS, syncs with the new iPad. Only purchased music will sync.
3) I'm running iTunes 11.4 which is the latest update that my 2011 Mac seems to be capable of.
4) I had hoped to use Home Sharing, but it appears that my Mac's operating system is too far out of date for that, and can't be updated for free anymore. (?)
4) I did visit the iTunes Match page before posting my question but the info was vague about "music that lives on local devices." And before I pay the $35 for iTunes Match, I would like to know that all my weird old songs will sync to the iPad! It appears that iTunes Match will store ALL my music in the cloud, but I've also seen posts by people complaining that they couldn't access music that iTunes couldn't identify or find in the iTunes Store. And my music is definitely not in the iTunes store or anywhere online.
So.... how can I get my full iTunes library, with oddball tracks -- to sync with my ipad air? Is iTunes Match the solution, or would I be better off waiting until I can get a new Mac, and use Home Sharing? Or am I still asking the wrong questions? THANKS. -
Why when I burn a playlist (audio files) to a cd-rw, it will play in a portable cd player,
but when attempting to play in two different auto cd players it won't play and reads as "error"?CD-RWs tend to have a lot of problems when used for audio CDs. I suggest you try the burn again using a CD-R.

I used imatch to get all my music from itunes on my pc to icloud. On my iphone 5 I turned imatch on and I now have all my songs on my phone, but the play lists in itunes on my pc didn't go with the music. Is there a way to synch the playlists?
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

It sounds like youre being prompted that there is not enough space. I would use the following article to help resolve the issue named:

Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
Restore using iTunes.

I'm using the remote with my iPod connected to iTunes why can't I search playlists on the iPod? It only lets me search playlists in iTunes and only let's me see the current playlist on the iPod only
You can only sync to one computer.
You would have to transfer purchases, but the apple ID would need to be the same.
Or find a 3rd party app to transfer content. -
How come I can't add a song to my playlists in itunes match? Is it me or itunes match? It keeps on coming up with a message " iCloud playlists can only contain songs from your iCloud music library. If you continue, the playlist will be removed from iCloud and will only be available on this computer"?
You must surely be able to add and subtract songs on specific playlist?I fixed this issue (with help from tech support) and it involved several things.
After adding a song to iTunes, right-click on the song in iTunes and select "Update iTunes Match."
OR go to the iTunes menu-->Store-->Update iTunes Match.
Maybe that's the reason, it just hadn't updated to the cloud.
OR maybe it's not a high-enough bitrate file. This happens to me because most of my tunes are home-recorded.
Sometimes converting to .mp3 or Create AAC version might work. (You do this with a right-click in iTunes, and then you will want to remove the original file from iTunes.)
There is an iTunes Preferences setting, under General Preferences called Import Settings. Try setting it to AAC Encoder and iTunes Plus. That (I think) causes imports to be slightly better quality.

ITunes 9.0.1 will only play one specific playlist
itunes 9.0.1 will only play one specific playlist, and freezes when I try to do anything else. Had 9.0.0.7, then upgraded...said would fix the problem, but didn't. When I sync iPhone itunes freezes as well. Tried to delete podcasts...froze. Tried to delete duplicate songs...froze. Tried to...you get the picture.
Any help?Problem has been resolved...had to reinstall, then go to add/remove programs and repair iTunes.

my iPhone 4s will not sync a changed playlist from itunes unless i turn off music match. Shouldn't I be able to use a playlist and music match at the same time?
It's not entirely impossible actually as someone has pointed out to me that I can turn on Call Forwarding and that stops any incoming calls. I've just forwarded it to my google voice number and then turned on "do not disturb" in google voice and whenever I get a call it goes straight to my google voice voicemail and my phone does nothing. The only thing now is I still get text messages but I think the phone calls bugged me more because they would make my music turn off for much longer.
Even though this isn't a perfect solution it's something so far so maybe you shouldn't just come out and say there's NOTHING I can do because so far I've found part of a solution. If you don't have anyting productive to say then just don't reply and close the tab. Thanks.

I usually create and edit playlists on itunes and then sync my phone to update my phone. Ever since the last upgrade, I can't do this. When I open itunes, my playlists are not there, only the songs and the default playlists. If I plug my phone in and click on My Phone at the top of the screen, I can see my playlists but I can't edit them. How can I get my playlists that are on my phone back on my itunes?

I am trying to burn some cds from my playlist on itunes, but my playlist shows many of my songs in light print and says that it will not burn because it is not a file, these are all songs I have purchased quite a while ago, how do i get them to files?
If they were songs you purchased from itunes, try redownloading them from your purchases...
if that doednt work, make sure the optuon to copy files to itunes media folder is checked in settings, then find and download from the net. and re-add them to your library -
My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. It was working fine up until this and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days. Please help! I am unsure of what version the phone was currently running on before this because I have another iphone that's my primary phone and have not used this one in about a month. I do not believe it was updated to IOS 7.
Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

I moved from Japan to Australia. I need to change from Japan App Store to the Australian App Store. I get the following message every time I try using My MacID which was set up in Japan: "This Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the Japanese iTunes Store. You will be switched to that Store." At one point... by which path I do not remember... I was instructed to created a new ID. I fill out the new ID forms, but the address is rejected each time... quite confusing. Does it want a new name? But it says I cannot use an apple domain (tag?) even though I guess it has to be an apple address... ? So I have iTunes crdit cards purchansed in Australia, can't spend in AUstralian iTunes Store, get directed back to Japan each time, and can't open a new ID... What am I doing wrong? You must have a separate Apple ID registered in the other store along with a valid bank-issued charge card in the other country, and a legal billing address in the other country.
Sorry... But... You cannot use other countries itunes stores.
You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country..

I cannot get my ipod touch or iphone to be recognized by Itunes on my mac mini. Only when i download itunes each time afresh, will it show up the first time. Then these devices will not be recognized subsequently. Is it because i am not uninstalling itunes before I download it? Surely this is a basic thing, ie that my devices need to recognize each other?
