4 to 5 and then?

An iMovie 5 project consists of only one file, a 4 Project of many files and subdirectories. If I import a 4 project to 5, I get a warning there is no going back. However, I still have many files and subdirectories after that. Which one should I then open with 5? Which files can I scrap?
I cannot be the first one who encountered this, Nothing in the help, nor in the forum I can find.

Actually it is a folder disguised as a package:

Actually you can still open with iMovie 4 the v4-style *.iMovie2Project which v5 renames and saves as a backup. But you really need to do it before you edit the project in any way because otherwise iMovie 4 might get confused about the real state of the project! Keep good backups!
And I'd recommend finishing v1-4 projects before upgrading to v5 anyway!
Which one should I then open with 5?
iMovie 5 want the *.iMovieProj. (The *.~iMovieProj is the backup of the previous saved version of the project -- generally you DON'T want to open it unless you need to go back to the previous saved version).
Which files can I scrap?
No need to scrap anything. But if you insist, you can scrap the old *.iMovie2Project, and the related /*.mov. All the reference movies are automatically re-created if you delete them. If you rename the project, you might want to rename or delete the reference movies to avoid confusion.
Just make a small test project and mess with it -- that's how I found out all this trivia
