4002 error in itunes since 10.7 update

Does anyone know how widespread the problem is or what timeframe apple has for fixing it?

I'm in the same boat.  I use my iphone for everything, including the music for my Zumba classes, and right now I can't see the music on the iPhone at all.  May have to go back to using my old iPhone 3 for my classes, not cool!  If anyone can offer up any results, please let me know.
Add on:  the last time I was able to get it to work, it didn't run through completely and left alot of my songs out.  They were showing up there, but I couldn't access them because they had not been "added to the cloud", they were showing a status of "waiting.  Any ideas on that?

My forward delete no longer works when searching or editing on Itunes since installing an update. Anyone else have that problem? Any fixes?

    Have you tried:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price:

  • I can no longer run itunes since the latest update

i can no longer run itunes since the latest update

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (If this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Since trying to upgrade itunes latest version, my PC will no longer allow me access to itunes  when I try to access itunes I receive a message that states:" ERROR MSVCR80.dll no found, re-install application     A second error message window appears and says: "erro 7/windows error 126  when I try to re-install Itunes, I receive a message that says: Itunes not valid win32 application and also google & norton shoe itunes.exe to be unsafe

After updating, I am no longer able to access itunes on my computer. Keeps saying MSVCR80.dll was not found. Please reinstall. Attempted to download itunes from the website as suggested and still gives the same error.  Frustrating since it was working fine before update.

  • What causes the 4002 error in iTunes?

I keep getting the unknown 4002 error, what causes this and how do I fix it?

I have received a 4001, 4002, and 4010 error numbers. I cannot find anything from Apple that describes each of them and what the difference is. And, of course, I cannot find anything from Apple Inc. that tells us how to resolve it or when they will fix it.
All I do know is iTunes Match is broken and does not work. I also know I cannot listen to my songs that are in the cloud, so what good did it do me for Apple Inc. to build server farms all over the place? None that I can tell.
I have resurrected a long-put away iPod to listen to my music because the songs are on a hard drive, not some cloud-like thing. And this I also know: I will never buy another Apple product again. They have become too big, too arrogant, too corporate-centered, and far too selfish since Steve Jobs left the company.
    Good bye, Apple Inc.

  • I can't import cd to mac itunes since the latest update occured

I am unable to import CD's into itub=nes since the latest itunes update. Anyone else having this problem?

Oh, I'm sure you'll find others who have the same problem.  With millions of iTunes users you always will.   The question is, will they have an answer or will it just be a "Me too!"?
I assume you mean the latest update to iTunes and not the latest update to other software.
Have you restarted your computer?  Did you repair permissions with Disk Utility before and after the update?  Does the CD appear in iTunes?  What exact error messages are you seeing?

    ipod mini Windows XP

    hi geraldo!
When I click change/remove in Add/Remove programs to try to uninstall my older QT the Installshield window momentarily flashes followed by no action.
good lord. a silent failure? that's a little odd.
... so let's check on some odd possibilities first.
check to see if you've got Windows Installer 3.1v2 on your PC. the easiest way to do that is to head to your Add/Remove programs control panel (don't remove anything ... we're just looking), and check to see if "(KB893803)" is showing up next to the entry for Windows Installer. if it is, you're fine. if not, see:
    Windows Installer 3.1 v2 (3.1.4000.2435) is available
... let's also check on these possibilities (although the KB docs are about installs, they can apply to uninstalls too):
iTunes 5 and QuickTime 7 for Windows: Installation won't work if Cygwin is running
QuickTime for Windows: Uninstall QuickTime 3 or 4 before installing QuickTime 7
iTunes 5 and QuickTime 7: Can't install on a computer with Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Japanese)
if any of those seem to be relevant to your PC, does the QT uninstall go a bit better afterwards?
    love, b

  • 5002 error with iTunes 9.1 when updating apps

I'm getting a 5002 error whenever I attempt to update an individual app via a 'Get Update' button in iTunes on all accounts on the machine. The app still downloads, but the error dialog comes up every single time. This did not occur prior to an update to Mac OS X 10.6.3 and iTunes 9.1.
Anyone else having this problem or know of a fix? Note that I have already tried the following:
    - Clean/reinstall of iTunes.
    - Removal/re-add of all apps (and confirmation that even with iTunes only having one app 'installed' the same problem occurs).
    - Update of account details.
    - Removal and deletion of all ad-hoc builds/apps with 'generic' icons.
    Full error message:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (5002).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
This doesn't happen with 'Download All Free Updates', but with multiple account downloads still broken, that button's only an option for me if the apps are for a single account.

The updates still download on my Mac, too - but the dialog is clearly something that shouldn't be there. Regarding the 'major version' error, that, as I stated, is down to multiple accounts. According to my communication with Apple, this is not intentional, but there's also not a timeframe for a fix. (This error started when the update screens started showing apps from all accounts, not just the one signed in.)

  • Song data no longer transferring from iPhone to iTunes since iOS 7 update?

I recently updated my iPhone with iOS 7 and iTunes to 11.1.  Since I've done this, when I plug my phone into iTunes, iTunes does not register songs that I've recently listened to on my phone has having been played.  The "Last Played" column does not update.  This creates issues with my Smart Playlists, which I have set up to to choose only songs that I have not listened to in the last 5 weeks.  I've tried creating a new Smart Playlist to see if the old ones just weren't working properly anymore, but that doesn't seem to be the issue.  It's the lack of updating in the "Last Played" information for my songs.  Does anyone know of something I can do to try and fix it?  I really like having Smart Playlists that keep me from having to hear too many of the same songs over and over.  Thanks!

  • HDCP error with iTunes 11.3.1 update

I recently cannot watch any HD content on my computer purchased through iTunes.  Just started happening with the latest 11.3.1 update.  I get the old HDCP content cannot be played message even though I have all apple gear, could play the content a few weeks ago with the last iTunes, monitor is more than capable of playing HD content, and the movies play for 10-15 seconds and then freeze and the error message pops up.  Never an issue before.  Apple Cinema display connected to a Mac Pro from 2012 running Mavericks and iTunes 11.3.1.
I have reset my SMC a few times and it does not help.  Any ideas, or do I just find another way to get media.  I will just buy DVD's and rip them to my mac if this is the new NORM.  It will play fine on my TV through Apple TV, but not on my computer through iTunes.
    Thanks in advance.

I have exactly the same Problem: Has always worked before, came "out of the blue" after latest updates, hardware is more than capable, have tried every maintenance option known to me.
In the meantime, I also tried 6 different configurations of OSX and iTunes via external boot disk together with my hardware, from OSX 10.8.5 to 10.10 (beta) and iTunes 11.1.4 to 12.0 (beta) and voilá: everywhere it WORKED! So the error seems to be software based and seems to occure while updating a system over time. A solution could be to clean install the Mac with a fresh system, but at the moment I don't have the time for that. Hopefully others will chime in into this discussion and Apple will get aware of the problem.
Will also try to get in touch with Apple-Tech-Support, but my Apple-Care-Warranty is over and I'm not willing to pay 50 bucks for that phone call. Also don't have a Genius-Bar around...
My workaround for now is, to use an external boot disk with a clean OSX 10.9.4, log in with Apple-ID and play the movies.

  • Error Installing iTunes 12.1.1 update

Keep getting error "Key not valid for use in specified state" when installing 12.1.1 update. Anyone know how to resolve this?
I have removed and reinstalled the current version in case some files were missing, but that did not help.

For "Key not valid for use in specified state" errors try moving the folder RSA from C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA to say C:\<User>\RSA (just in case there should be a need to restore it) then try installing again. This folder appears to act as a cache and should be rebuilt automatically as required.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Apple TV won't stream movies from itunes since installing latest update

I recently updated my Apple TV and have since been unable to stream movies from my iTunes library. Itunes and all other software is up to date. I even downloaded Mountain Lion OS just in case. Netflix and movie trailers work fine. Streaming from my computer seems to be the only problem.

I have since purchased a new apple tv which had worked fine until the update was offered. I downloaded the update and the problem happens again on a brand new machine.
Since then I have spent 2 hrs on the phone with apple without results. Followed by an hour on the phone with Linksys checking network issues. I was just wondering if this is a problem for anyone else? It's not a single device so it has to be a problem with the update intalled.
Linksys believes the update corrupted the apple tv's firmware. Has anyone else been experiencing problems?
