"404 error" for business explorer

Hi Expert,
I installed SAP Business Objects Enterprise 4.0 SP2 for development, test and productive environment and they work fine. Development and Test BOE are installed in a single host instead the productive environment is installed in more hosts, in particular this is the configuration for the productive BOE environment:
host 1: WAS (Tomcat 6)
host 2: WAS (Tomcat 6)
host 3: CMS server 1
host 4: CMS server 2
host 5: CMS DB
After that I installed BOE, I also installed SAP Business Explorer 4.0 in the development, test and productive environment (I installed BE in host 3 and host 4). SAP Business Explorer work fine in development and test system instead is not working in the productive environment. In particular if i go to BI lunch pad (productive environment) and I selected the Business Explorer icon the following error message appear:
404 Missing Page
The page you requested is not available on this web server for one of the
following reasons:
I checked on Central Management console the status of the Business Explorer servers and they are in status "running".
I noted that in the development and test system the file explorer.war has been created from the BE installation program in the following folder :
"D:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjectsEnterprise XI 4.0\wdeploy\workdir\tomcat6\application"
instead in the productive environment the file explorer.war doesn't exist. How can I resolve this critical issue? Must I install some component also in the WAS hosts?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards
gio'

Looks like you need to do a web tier install on your tomcat server or you could copy the war file over.  How did you deploy your war files when you did your initial install of BOE?  Do you see an explorer folder in your tomcat6\webapps directory?

  • Infoobject - Setting for Business Explore and its performace

    Hello BW-fans,
I am not sure, whether I am here at the right topic or this is a question for Bex-Topic. However it's something to do with data modelling so I firstly put the question here.
I have an example: the InfoObject 0CUST_HIE01 is from SAP-Standard referenced on 0CUSTOMER - it's ok. By selection at query execution, depending on the general settings for Business Explore, especial at "Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn", the content of 0CUST_HIE01 will be showed as the content of master data 0CUSTOMER or the content of 0CUST_HIE01 itself. In our data model it's two different values, so the general settings should be correctly "Only value in InfoProvider" or "only posted value for Navigation".
The problem is the perfomance when I select the filter value at query executation. With those two settings like above it'll take very long time, the voluminous data is updated in InfoProvider the slower the performance will be. In my example is showing the content of master data 0CUSTOMER due to setting "Value in master data table" is very quick but wrong and showing the "posted value in InfoProvider" is correct but it takes very long time.
My question is: Is there any method to upgrade the performance for this case?
    Many thanks for answers!
    Van Anh Nguyen

    Hi,
To avoid that goto the maintaince of that characterstic infoobject and in the Tab Page: Business Explorer set property Filter Selection in Query Execution property to Only Values in InfoProvider so that variable will not fetch all the data instead it will display only required data.
Its becoz "This field tells you how the selection of filter values is determined when a query is executed.
When queries are executed, the selection of filter values is usually determined by the data that is selected by the query. This means that only the values for which data has been selected in the current navigation status are displayed.
In many cases, however, it can be useful to include additional values. Therefore you can also choose the settings Only Values in InfoProvider and Values in Master Data Table. If you make this selection, however, you may get the message “No data found” when you select your filter values."

In iWeb I created a hyperlink to a file on my computer. When I publish I get a 404 error for the link.  Can anyone help?

How would I check to see if the like works when I enable via the inspector pane
If you enable hyperlinks when you click on the link link to the pdf file it will open a browser window and display the pdf file.
I upload the pdf files to the server and link to them as if they were an external web page:
That's been more reliable for me than linking to the file as Link To: A file and have iWeb upload the pdf file to the serve.

  • UWL 404 error for 'LeaveRequestApproval'

    Hi,
We are working on EP7 sp9 and ECC 6.0, Now the problem is when we are working with UWL in portal, when we click on worklist item(for leave request), we use to get ITS screen. At backend we changed it to 'Java Web Dynpro' USING  SWFVISU transaction. In UWL Adminstration we cleared the cache and also re-registered the item types. But when we click on the work item it is throwing the following error.
Can anyone assist me, where we are mistaken?

    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
Looks like it is trying to open the WebDynpro application on the (ABAP R/3) backend system. This should be the system on which your ESS WebDynpro's have been deployed.
I guess this is the EP7 system on which your UWL is also running. In this case, go to UWL administration in the portal, and select the system/connector configuration of the ECC backend system. Choose "edit".
There is a property called "WebDynpro Launch System". Here you can enter the alias of the system definition in portal system landscape which refers to the WebDynpro application hosting system.
If this is indeed the EP7 system on which UWL is running, you can use the builtin system alias "SAP_LocalSystem". Otherwise create a WAS system definition referring to the WAS installation hosting the WebDynpro's and use that alias.

  • Flashplayer installation error for Internet Explorer

Hi, I have tried to fix this myself but nothing I have tried has fixed the problem.
I have Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium and I'm not sure what version my flash player is for I Explorer.
Anyway, every time I try to install flash player for IE, it comes up with this error: The ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered. And then prompts me to follow this link: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html.
I have tried all of the fixes given to me at that link, but none seem to work. I noticed that on the very last fix dealing with registry keys, some of the keys that were mentioned in the link did not exist. Someone please help me with this, a step-by-step guide would be great!

  • Unexpected error for file explorer

I have a user that was trying to browse her document lib by using the explorer feature in sharepoint.  At first we were unable to even get the explorer working.. but then I followed these steps:
    1- patch IE
For windows 7 x32 machines this update needs to be installed:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=27df4b80-e71b-457a-9a5f-02668b1651c8
For windows 7 x64 machines this update needs to be installed:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2aa7d8a3-d48d-4b7b-bfb6-770af0536fe1
    2 - trusted sites
Under the trusted sites in IE these need to be added:
    https://*.lync.com
    https://*.microsoftonline.com
    https://*.outlook.com
    https://*.sharepoint.com
3 - made sure this was running.
In the windows services the WebClient must be running.
Once I did that everything was working correctly.  The explorer now came up for the user with no issues.  However, when the user tried to copy or move a file they received this error: "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file.
If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem.  Error 0x800700E0: Access Denied.  Before opening files in this location, you must first add the web site to your trusted sites list, browse to
the web site, and select the option to login automatically."
The option to login automatically has already been selected for this user.  I also checked the permissions to the site and she has full control selected.  So i'm now at a dead end.  Anyone have any suggestions?  She is running office
2010 and I tested this on my office 2010 machine and it worked with no issues... However I am an Admin to the site.  Cheers.

here this guy is talking about the permission on the computer.
This is often caused because you are not an Administrator, or do not have administrator priveleges. A well phrased problem is half of the cure, and in this case just make
sure tht your account has the 'top dog' administrator priveleges, and is using them.

Also please try your account on her computer and see if you able to copy the files or not?

  • Oracle Portal Portlet 404 Error for Specific Users

I have a single portlet in Oracle Portal that is returning the message "Error: The listener returned the following error: 404 Not Found" that is occurring for just 2 out of my 350+ users. I have tried clearing user cache, clearing portlet cache, deleting these two users from portal and recreating their accounts, changing their usernames, rebooting the entire app server and nothing is working. There are other users for which the portlet will return the exact same data that the 2 problem users are requesting without an issue.
Portal version is 10.1.2.3. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated as I am about ready to beat my head against a wall.

  • [ADF-11.1.2.2] 404 error for shared libraries jspx file.

    Hi,
    I got 2 ADF application
    1. Base Application, in which I have BTF (Base-BTF.xml) with one Jspx file in it.
    2. Main Application, In which there is one BTF (Main-BTF.xml) with jsff pages, and I am calling Base-BTF of Base Application as a dialog.
When I run the pages from Main Application that has a region to Main-BTF, I am able to see pages of main-app. But when I click on button to call Base-BTF, I get following error. But...
    1. If I create same scenario in base application, and call Base-BTF as a dialog, it works fine. (i.e. only one ADF application is involved)
    2. If I have Base-BTF2 with page fragments (jsff files) in Base Application. And If I call same from Main App BTF, it works fine and I can see base app jsff content (Note I haven't used open as dialog, as it is not applicable here).
Note that Security is not enabled for both the applications. I am not sure, why the issue of 404 is coming for Jspx file when called from another application.
Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong.

When using {tag_tellafriend} in email campaigns, the email that is sent from BC to the 'friend' is dysfunctional - the link rendered by {tag_itemurl} is redirected by a 302 Found to /_System/SystemPages/Error404, which simulates a Page Not Found error (it doesn't actually return 404).
Those links are in the format: http://www.example.com/CampaignProcess.aspx?A=View&KID=203100&VID=45681759

Cool. Shouldn't {tag_tellafriend} be removed or disabled? Three years seems a long enough sunset period for a feature that hasn't worked since then.

  • ClassNotFoundException error for Business Operation Exceptions

I am using WLPI 2.0 with Weblogic 6.0.
I have written a business operation that calls a method in a java class which
    throws an exception. When
I perform the business operation and pass good data, it does what is expected.
    However, when I call
the method with bad data and the method has to throw the exception, the method
    in the java class
throws the exception but WLPI opens a dialog with the error ClassNotFoundException
    with the name of
the fully qualified exception class that I threw.
I have tried putting the class files in a jar file and including the jar file
in the CLASSPATH of the WLI
server as well as leaving the classes in a subdirectory and including the subdirectory
    in the CLASSPATH.
WLPI has no problem find the class that performs the business process, however,
    it can't find the
Exception class (which is in the same directory) that the business process class
    throws when there is a
failure. I have the same package names in both files, so I'm not sure why it is
    not finding it.
Can anyone think of what "t" I don't have crossed?
My calls and definition of the business operation looks almost exactly like one
    of the examples. I just
seem to be missing one little thing.
    Eddie

    Folks,
Never mind. I had the CLASSPATH in the WLPI server set, but
didn't realize you had to update the worklist classpath as well.
I would have realized this if the worklist would have needed the
external class I was calling in the business operation, but now
see how the worklist must have at least the exception class.

My calls and definition of the business operation looks almost exactly
    like one
    of the examples. I just
seem to be missing one little thing.

  • HTTP Status 404 error for FIORI Application deployed on HCP

    Hello Experts,
I have created a Fiori App using Web IDE and deployed it on my trial account of HCP .
The Gateway service used is from On Premise system. I have used SAP Cloud Connector to connect Hana cloud Platform and on premise system.
In Web IDE test application works fine. However, when I deploy it and access the application URL I am getting the error "HTTP Status 404" as shown in the screenshot.
In Chrome  Developer Console shows below error
"Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)".  I have checked many threads but could not find the solutions.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ashik

Does your firoi app have index.html file ? If yes, is it placed in the root folder of your app ?
I guess you're missing out the index.html in your fiori app. You may be having Component.js as the entry point which will run only with Fiori launchpad. But to run fiori app as standalone, you need to create the index.html file.
You can try accessing your component.js file by adding a '/Component.js' at the end of the url to know if you're app has been deployed properly as of now.
