40d Problem in extreme highlights of image

Few of my images(raw cr2 files) I have noticed strange artifacts in blown out or almost blown out highlight areas. In these areas there is this strange yellow colored pattern. And it shows up when exporting the image to jpeg. In ACR this same raw file has no such problem. Is anyone else experiencing this problem in extreme white highlight areas of their images. The problem occurred in white fabrics of an umbrella and glistening sun on a turtles back in my case.

Let me do a update.
I have some time today to do some experiment to check out how Aperture deal with the Highlight Priority custom function on the 40D when shot in RAW. I shot at a lit lamp shade, overexposing by about 2 stops.
*I found that when HP is turned on, the brightest part of the picture has a red value of ZERO, turning the most blown part of the picture cyanish.* So, please don't use HP when using Aperture until this problem is solved.
But for the parts that are not completely blown, there is indeed some benefits where I can pull back a little more detail compared to when HP is turned off.
And in contrast to some theories floating around some forums, shooting with HP on is not the same as underexposing by one stop. In my experiment, I shot all pictures at the same aperture and shutter speed. Exposure of the shadow is identical at the same ISO, whether HP is on or off. The ISO400/On picture has shadow the same as ISO400/Off; and definitely is not the same as ISO200/Off.
Anyways, after adjusting for WB, I managed to pull back about 2 1/3 stops of highlight from the RAW, even when HP is turned off. There's really little reason to use the HP function in the camera if shooting RAW.
I confirmed another observation someone made in another forum. The RAW data clipped about 1/3 stop earlier when using ISO 160/320/640/1250, compared to the others. In the same experiment, I can only pull back about 2 stops of blown highlights.
I am going to switch my ISO function to the 1-stop only now. There's really little point of using the 1/3-stops anyways, and now there's some reason not to use some ISO settings.

The advanced adjustments in the Highlights & Shadows tool were combined into the "Mid Contrast" slider in Aperture 3.3 and later. If you have any images in your library that were processed in a version of Aperture before 3.3, there will be an Upgrade button in the Highlights & Shadows tool in the upper right, and the controls you asked about under the Advanced section. Clicking the Upgrade button will re-render the photo using the new version of Highlights & Shadows, and the Advanced section will be replaced with the new Mid Contrast slider. With the new version from 3.3 you probably don't need the Advanced slider, but if you want to use the older version you can download it from this page:

I have a problem with loading the PNG image

I have a problem with loading the PNG image from site. For ex. go to icefilms com and is starts to load png like crazy CPU is huge and you can not shut down Firefox at least a minute. This is not just in this site but whit any one whit lots of pictures.

i did both of them, but still the while sending the mail the diolog box is not showing up and also the spelling and grammer does not do the spelling check.

I sometimes have transparency problems when I distort PDF image size (i.e.: 100%x99%) then Export. Is there away to fix. Or at least be able to preflight and know I have an issue.

Mostly I have seen borders and drop shadows that will just go away or other wise not print right but only when I distort the image and only on very complicated large PDF images. When I print it at same % both horz and vert. this problem goes away.

I Too am having problems with iBooks highlighting the entire chapter if I touch the right edge of a page. It overrides my previous highlighting making my studying useles. Based on my understanding, it just changes the background for that image to highlight them.
So we could change the background for the control hosts these images, and in addition, the size mode should not be autosize, because we should keep some area to display the background.

CS3: mouse over, highlight only image

Hi,
I try to make the effect like in the attached file. I don't exactly know how to discribe it in english so I just made it in After Effects real quick :-)
At a mouse over only the image should be highlighted.
Hope you understand what I want to do.
Can someone please explain me how I can create this effect.

Just define the button so that the image is part of it. To do this, simply put all the layers you want into the button layer set. Then make the highlight layer so it covers only the image. When you mouse over the button, it will highlight the image.

Display problems in Mail messages with image attachment

Issue: Seeing intermittent display problems in Mail messages with image attachments
Annoyance level: minor, but Apple techs need to pass it along
Details: Regardless of mail client sending to iPhone (Outlook, OWA, Yahoo, Gmail) there are intermittent and what appear to be random occurrances of the pic being half rendered and/or the pic never loading (followed by message saying it can't be retrieved from server). I'm not familiar with C#, but if possible try the following:
1. Removing all thead and tbody tags from the body of the message.
2. Changing all inline CSS to embedded CSS.
I've seen a user said the message stopped showing up after making the changes.
If the issue persists, please note, since Outlook 2007, Outlook opens the HTML Email and converts it to Microsoft Word format before displaying it to the user. What happens during this process is that many CSS attributes and HTML support is completely removed.
Some of the most notable absences are background-image, and padding and margin support. Hardly can we do much about this, so the message "If there are problems with how this email is displayed, click here to view it in a web browser" is actually
a good workaround when we face this problem.

Does Drag'n'Drop work for you?
Just open the folder where you have your music stored.
Connect your player.
Go to My Computer and pick Removeble Device ( thats your player )
Open it up.
You can now drag the music from your music folder to your player's folder.
Wait till its done. Then go to the right hand lower corner. And click on Remove Hardware safely. When thats done. Remove your player.
Hope this works.

If I was having the problem, I'd remove the email account completely off my iPod then re-add it. If that doesn't work, I'd reset my password and try again. These are all just ideas and not real concrete solutions. Hope something works for you.

Are you sending files from the Adobe Send interface, Adobe Reader, or the Outlook plug-in?
Have you checked to see whether the files that you're sending appear in the Recent Files/Sent Files list when you're logged on to https://cloud.acrobat.com? (It could be that they're uploading, but not being sent.)
It would also be worthwhile to send the files in smaller batches, to see whether a particular file or files is problematic, and causing the error.
Please let us know how it goes. If you're still having trouble, please let us know where you're sending from, and whether you're able to send the files in smaller batches. It would also be helpful to know the exact error message that you're receiving.

Help with SWFObject2, problem with display of alternate image

I'm trying to use SWFObject2 dynamic publishing version to test the visitors browser for flash pluggin and the version.
I want to only show my flash image if the browser finds the flash plug in and it supports the correct version of flash for my banner, otherwise I want to display a jpeg image in its place.
When flash support is available in my browser the flash image is displayed, no problems. But when Javascript or flash plugin support is not available and my alternate image jpeg is displayed something wierd happens and i would appreciate any help on this:
The image is displayed but is pushed to the right of the screen and it seems to have a box behind the image, the edge of the box is only visable and changes colour on rollove like it wants to be clicked, obviously i cannot see what the box is because the image covers it. There is nothing wrong with my image, i put that in place first and tested it loaded ok before i added the SWFObject code and file.
