40mm fan 3pin to mini 2 pin converter for Mega 180 anyone ?

Hi
I have read at length the mod advice to cool this little blighter down.  I have purchased new 40, 50 and 60 mm fans, but I have just spotted the power connectors on the existing chipset and cpu fans (except 1) are miniature 2 pin connections.  The new quiet fans have standard 3 pin connectors.
My questions are.
1. Should I just power the fans via the power cables from the PSU instead?  I can get one of the cpu fans near the AGP slot into the supplied 3 pin connector, but what about the other two ?  Do they need to be rigged to the motherboard ?
2. Does anyone know if and where I can but the necessary connection converters or fan replacements that will plug into the motherboard.
Many thanks for your help
Regards
Jasooon

Thanks Bas, haved hooked them all up and all running.  Have just installed PC Alert 4 and now have warning errors of low voltages on the vcore.
Wondering how I can have caused this :( ?
thanks again for confirming approach

  • Voltage converter for Pavilion dm1-3020us Entertainment Laptop in the UK?

    Will I need a step-down voltage converter to recharge my Pavilion dm1-3020us Entertainment Laptop while in the UK?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If you check the Adapter block, you should find it will accept a voltage input range of 100v - 240v.  If this is the case, then all you will need is a Two pin to Three pin converter for the plug to be able to use UK sockets.

  • How to arrange RJ45-DB25 converter for the 8 pins

    Hi guys
    I am trying to connect my laptop to cisco router console and so far I have roll-over cable with RJ45-DB25 and my laptop has DB25 connector which I usually use for printer.
    can anyone tell me how to arrange the 8 pins from RJ45-db25 converter?I am trying to access the console the cisco router using RJ45-DB25 converter since my laptop does not have DB9 connector for me to use the Cisco management cable.
    Any hint will greatly appreciated ... thx...
    By the way, I found this website explaining lots of combination for the pinouts...but I am doubting myself to which I should apply...
    http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:VlyAwdwuGT4J:www.perle.com/support/cabling/documents/RJ45_Non-Standard_Cabling_Example.doc+how+to+wiring+rj45-db25&hl=en&client=firefox-a
    I am also able to narrow it down by finding from this website below:
    http://pinouts.ru/data/pin_rj45todb25_cisco.shtml
    I am confused with pin number 7 since from the diagram above link there are 2 pinouts I can use i.e. 4 and 5 for the RJ45...is that mean I can use either?
    well hopefully someone has experiences in this...

    That is the only way that you will be able to get it to work, short of adding a standard serial port to your laptop. I am forced to use the same method to access my equipment also as my laptop has no serial port either, only USB.
    The drivers for the USB to Serial adapter will make it look like a COM port on your laptop. Mine shows up as COM5. This will allow you to use your favorite terminal application with the adapter.

  • MOVED: 3-pin connector for fan

    This topic has been moved to Overclockers and Modding Corner.
    3-pin connector for fan

    Generally, the 3 pin connector on VGA cards is smaller than the CPU fan connector on a motherboard. You would need a converter or you may aslo need to mod the connector on the Zalman.
    You could check to see if the actual contacts between the two are the same, in some cases I have been able to use a dental pik to remove the contact pins from the female connector of the original fan's connector and install it into the larger size connector but it's been so long since I have done it. In some cases I have been able to find the little metal contacts at an electronics store and crimp them on myself.
    Since this is not an MSI product and this is an MSI forum, I have moved this topic from the VGA forum to here.
    Good luck.

  • Is it possible to add a Mini Display Port converter to my MBP's thunderbolt to add a display ?

    I use MBP (late 2011). I find the hunderbolt port to be similar to the mini-display port of older mac. I wish to have another display, but not ready to spend $999 over a thunderbolt display from mac. So would like to know if a Mini-diaplay port converter from apple would help me connect a exernal display via the thunderbolt port? Thanks .
    Koushik

    Koushik,
    Did you check all of the display adapters Apple carries to see if there is one to fit your needs?  There are also third-party adapters on the market that may do that conversion.

  • Is there a converter for the Mac Mini

    I have a Mac Mini - here, in the States.
    I may have the opportunity to spend time in England and would love to bring the computer with me. Did Apple make a power converter for it? Would DC power hurt the MINI? Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thank you for your help in advance,
    Jackie

    Yes mooblie - it was helpful.
    It's been a rough day - and you do not know me to understand - I didn't need anything "extra" added - I can only handle so much in a day...
    I've been on line with a young thing - who has been having temper tantrums and says I'm condescending - when all I'm doing is helping her identify a font for a project and wishing her luck on it.
    I think folks have forgotten the interaction that actual conversation offers. And yes, I may be considered in the stone age - to yourself, as my friend Scott would tell you - "she is old enough to be your grandma" always hated him for saying it - but it does make me laugh... and most likely, true!
    Shall we start again. I have a Mac Mini in the USA - can I use it in England safely? If yes - how?

  • Mac mini as media player for HD content ?

    hi
    i am looking for the best affordable solution for HD projection.
    i will be shooting and editing a 18min video, probably on sony xdcam ex1 editing on my g5 fcp 6 system. i don't want to down-convert for projection and am considering to buy a mac mini and project a .mov file compressed with h264. any experience ? can quicktime project full resolution, full screen and in loop ? since i am not burning to dvd, can i use higher than the allowed bit-rate in order to get the best possible quality ? if i connect the mini to the projector using dvi to hdmi, will i be losing quality ?
    any suggestions and comments will be much appreciated...
    nir

    A DVI to HDMI connector requires a dual link DVI end for some or a single link for others. I don't know what the mini uses.
    One is 24 pins and the other is 18 pins.
    If that is what you are using, then make certain you get the right one.
    and if this is a DVI, remember you need separate audio outputs for sound.
    A DVI cable won't carry sound

  • What is the pin map for chip select on LM3S8962 for "ARM SPI Create Configuration Reference.vi" ? (0 through n)

    Hello All,
    When the LM3S8962 is the master, what pin is used when chip
    select is the default (0), or another value ?
    Despite this question being asked a few ways in the forums,
    NI's "ARM SPI Create Configuration Reference.vi" documentation
    for chip select is unclear.
    TI's manual is no help for NI's implementation of chip select.
    NI's help for the above subvi seems not only too generic (perhaps
    written for the SDK ?),  but erroneous in that it reads:
    "chip select specifies the chip select line to assert during the
    SPI transfer. The chip select line must connect to the EEPROM
    on the
    microcontroller. Refer to the documentation for the SPI
    device for information
    about chip select lines."
    This is useless as the ARM microcontroller has no EEPROM and
    the SPI slave device documentation only covers its own pins.
    The hope is to have more than one slave on the LM3S8962's single SPI bus,
    without chewing up a additional pin using elemental I/O like the splendid forum
    examples for ADC's and DAC's.  This would save diagram real estate compared
    with two sequence frames that are typically shown toggling a elemental I/O digital
    output before and after writing and/or reading from the slave.   It also would clarify
    what on chip resource trade offs there are for each chip select number chosen.
    (as most pins have multiple possible functions)
    Thanks in advance for any light on this.   Please don't post info on other processors
    to this thread as this taints future searches on this issue with this tier 1 target.
    Best,
    Davy

    Hi Davy,
    While doing research on this question, I was informed that you have been working with a colleague of mine, Joel, via email for this same question. So that we do not have multiple engineers working on the same issue, Joel will be your point of contact for this issue. I ask that when you have come to a resolution, that you post that resolution here so that other customers can reference this information.

  • I need a simple Converter for a selectBooleanCheckbox.

    Hi,
    Can someone tell me how to build a simple converter to go from a selectBooleanCheckbox value to a String and back.
    I save a String ("Y" or "N") in my table but the checkbox returns a boolean. I need a Converter to do the conversion from TRUE to "Y" and FALSE to "N". Should be easy to do but as of now, mine won't even execute properly.
    I get a
    javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Can't instantiate class: 'ca.sshrc.web.common.converters.BooleanConverterYn'.
    I don't understand how getAsObject and getAsString work I guess.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Has anyone been able to make the converter for "<h:selectBooleanCheckBox>" work??
    seems like the converter method itself is not getting invoked.
    this is what i am trying to do..
    Code in jsp is
    <h:selectBooleanCheckbox id="testCheckBox" value="#{myBean.testCheckBox}" >
         <f:converter converterId="booleanConverter" />
    </h:selectBooleanCheckbox>entry in faces-config is
    <converter>
           <converter-id>booleanConverter</converter-id>                  <converter-class>package.MyBooleanConverter</converter-class>
      </converter>class MyBooleanConverter looks like this at the moment
    public class MyBooleanConverter implements Converter {
         public Object getAsObject(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, String value) {
              myBooleanClass myBoolean = new myBooleanClass(value);
              return myBoolean;
         public String getAsString(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) {
              return value.toString();
    }     Have kept myBooleanClass as a simple wrapper for the Boolean class.
    Same is working for string and integer but not in this case..
    Am i going wrong somewhere... kindly help

  • AVC - Any Video Converter for Mac

    Hello,
    I've been in search of a "complete" replacement for (now discontinued) VisualHub for converting "many"
    video formats to the ones I use most frequently (DV, DVD, iTunes to name just 3).
    Today, I found "Any Video Converter for Mac"
    <http://www.any-video-converter.com/mac-software.php> but want to see if there are other Mac users out there, uh, using it. It's shareware: $44.95, so I'd like to know if it's worth the money b4 plunking down that much cash.
    Anybody here who has a "review" on this app would be helpful.

    Brie,
    Just the 3-minute clip length on the demo. This prevents testing it on full length videos when the original cannot be edited "natively" by Mac OSX. That is, when you have a five minute clip in .wmv format, no editing means the clip can't be snipped to less then 3 minutes for testing with AVC.
    The obvious: Flip4Mac can be used for this but that's another $29.95 (or more- it's tier priced based on editing capabilities) on top of the $44.95 for the AVC app.
    The other thing which caused me to ask for reviews by users of the paid version is that some formats required downloading additional codecs from the developer of AVC. I know from experience that installing codecs "willy-nilly" can lead to system instability. So it's either pay for the version of Flip4Mac which can edit the wmv type files or take a chance that the additional codec from the developer will let me edit a longer than 3-min. wmv file (with the aforementioned risk).
    This is a relatively new developer, and I am not an early adopter. Logically, I thought there might be one of those early adopters out there who could point the way for the rest of us (video editors). The obvious goal: making more video stock available for use in iMovie projects.

  • Scan Converter for 7300

    Hi
    Im looking for a scan converter to support the 7300. The units I'v googled seem to accept DVI-D only. Will these work with the 7300 which (I think?) is DVI-I.
    An example is the TVOne C2150 http://www.tvone.com/c2-2100-2150-main.shtml
    Has anyone found a good scan converter for these cards?
    Cheers

    DVI-I contains all the DVI-D signals plus the analog video, so it can run a DVI-D device. a DVI-D plug may be missing some pins, but will plug into a DVI-I socket.

  • ONS 15454 and AC/DC Converter for 220V

    I am looking for a AC/DC converter for a ONS15454 for a 220V input.
    The ONS 15454 datasheet indicate input current 22A maximum.
    The Cisco AC/DC Power Solution datasheet indicate for ONS 15454 a medium solution.
    And the same datasheet indicate the small solution is up to 32A for 220V.
    Then, can I use the small configuration for ONS at 220V?
    Anyone know that? Can you help me with that?
    Graciela

    What is the hardware configuration of your 15454 including chassis, fan and by slot?
    Using the hardware config, you can calcualte the expected amperage.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/optical/ps2006/products_tech_note09186a0080094ae4.shtml
    The general power requirement of 22A provides for any possible configuration. Actual configurations may be less. I have some 454s using as little as 9A in the lab.

  • Does Mac Mini require power adapter for European voltage?

    Does mac mini require a power adapter to safely operate on European voltage?

    Thanks Anamusic!  Since my other Apple products have the square adapters (iPhone, iPad, macbook) it seemed strange only to have a plug cord for mini.  don't want to fry it over here in Europe.
    You only will need a new Duckhead US-Plug-Type C (2 pin Europlug) for your MagSafe power adaptor. See picture below.
    All Apple MagSafe adaptors are mulitivoltage devices and support AC 100V to 240V
    All Mac's with build in power supply (like iMac) have also multivoltage units.
    Mac Mini uses (depending on production year) different power units, Mac Mini 2011 have a internal power supply, but ALL are "multivoltage".
    So you just have to change the cord or use a adaptor.
    The above adaptor is suitable for use with Apple's laptop power adapters, and some other products e.g. some iPod, iPhone, iPad adapters. It will however not fit the Mac mini of any generation.
    Also, only the MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air have the Mag Safe connector which is at the laptop end of the cable. The picture you posted is for the wall socket end of the cable. Older Mac mini computers use a proprietary connector, the 2010 and 2011 models use a standard IEC C7 connector.

  • What is the best video converter for iPhone?

    My last question was deleted I guess because I was not specific enough. I have a Sony DCR-DVD108 DVD Handycam® Camcorder which writes everything onto mini DVDs. I am looking for a good video converter to convert my home movies with. I am using Roxio Crunch, but it doesn't do as good of a job as I had hoped. What is the best video converter to use?
    P.S. Please don't delete my question again Apple.

    It was probably deleted because you said that it was in violation of the TOU, which I have read. I own all rights to DVDs which I myself have created, and I give myself permission to copy said DVDs for whatever reasons I wish. I am in no way violating the TOU: "Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store" because I am in no way trying to "work around" any sort of DRM, and I created the home movies and in no way was the iTunes Store involved; that is unless somehow a movie of my nephew's birthday is now available on iTunes. And I don't own an iPod video, I own an iPhone, which is why the question says "What is the best video converter FOR IPHONE?" and is why I am in an iPhone forum.

  • Problems upgrading raw converter for cs6

    I have a cs6 license and recently had an update applied to the raw converted to handle my sony a7s.  I also wanted to upgrade the raw converted for my cs6 version on an mac I use at a second home.  It did do an upgrade but not high enough to deal with the new camera.
    I'm on a mac mini running osx 10.6.8.  When I try to open a sony arw file in camera raw if gives a dialog box indicating it can't open the file and gives a link to a spread sheet showing the minimum version of camera raw of 8.5 to open the a7s arw file.  If I look at the version of camera raw I'm using I get 7.0.0.308.  To do an update for the raw converter while I am in bridge I go to help and use the update item.  I did an update to 7.0.0.308 when I originally ran the update option but hat is obviously not high enough to deal with the sony arw files.  I basically did the same thing on my main computer and had no problem.
    Any ideas?

    Here is an installer for camera raw 8.3, so at least you'll have the newest version that mac os x 10.6.8 supports.
    http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/mac/PhotoshopCameraRaw7-7.0/8.3.52/setup.dmg
    If the above doesn't work, you can try a manual install by following the instructions in the following adobe kb.
