-43 error when updating to ios 5

When trying to update an iPhone 4 to ios 5, I keep getting a unknown error (-43) when backing up.  Any ideas what may be causing this and how to fix?

    Possible, but not 100% sealproof. -1 can happen in a variety of situations, not always jailbroken. It's a baseband error and while the risk of getting that error is higher on a non-factory unlocked device, it can still happen.
    Even if OP was jailbroken and removed the jailbreak, it's quite difficult, if not impossible to tell the device has been jailbroken before if restored as brand new.
    Take the device to an Apple Store for evaluation.

    I get a "download error" when trying to update to iOS 6.0.1 from 5.1.1.
    I have already tried switching the iPad off and on. Also I don't currently have a laptop with iTunes on for a manual installation.
    Any suggestions?

  • IPhone/iTunes backup error when updating to iOS 4.2

    Just bought an Iphone 4 a few days ago and tried several times to update it to iOS 4.2.... it fails EVERY TIME when the iTunes tries to proceed the phone's backup. An error occur and closes the iTunes without updating the phone.
    Such problem didn't happen when updating my iPad... really don't know how to skip this problem and finally update my iPhone properly.
    *** Apple!?!?!?
    PS. I already downloaded the iTunes again, tried to "restore" my iPhone but the same thing keeps happening...

    i have iphone 3gs and this has just happened to me, just in the middle of restoring it now, dread to think whats been lost on it.

    5 minutes into the update of my iPad 2 at then end of the backup phase (I have iTunes 10.5 installed on a windows 7 machine) I get an error ( error -1303) and I am given the opportunity to either continue while being advised that all data on the iPad will be lost, or to Cancel the operation. This is what I have observed:
    To see if anything actually gets backed up (I have seen on the net that error 1303 often times are associated with incorrect folder permissions) I have moved the existing backup to another location before starting the update. When the update starts a new backup folder is being created the backup progresses nicely until all is backed up (the new backup folder now is the same size as the one I moved prior to starting the update). At this point the process stops and error 1303 is reported, and the newly created contents of the backup folder is cleared, leaving nothing!
    Since the backup process appears to be writing to the backup folder in the first place, there should be no problem with folder permissions. Have any of you seen this problem, and does anyone have fix?

    As pdroth said, you should have gotten a backup made when you started the update of iOS. If you cannot find a backup, and the phone is in recovery mode, there are no futher suggestions to make. To get the phone working again you have to restore. You cannot force a backup at this time since it is already in recovery mode. It will not allow anything else but a restore at this point.

    I think you have a 1st Gen iPod Touch. You can only go up to iOS 2.2.1 OR you can purchased the iOS 3.1 firmware.

    I have a quick wifi connection (Mac shows it as about 35 megabits) but I couldn't get the 5.0.1 OTA to work, I had to do it via cable to my computer's iTunes - and as I was already on iOS 5 it was only a small download, basically the same size as the OTA size.
    As the original poster is talking about a 730 meg download then I assume that they are still on iOS 4.3.5 or below and can therefore only download via their computer's iTunes - you need to be on iOS 5+ before you get the OTA option.

  • Error when updating Playbook OS version via Blackberry Desktop Manager

    Greeting,
    I have a batch of old playbooks which having the stack charging issue, but I found that I can update the OS to the newest version (2.1.0.1917) via Blackberry Desktop Manager, then the charging algorithm will be changed to the updated one and go over this dead battery issue. I was able to do so successfully in the past week smoothly on several devices.
    But since this Monday, the Desktop Manager is saying "An updated Blackberry Desktop Software component must be installed before you can continue" when downloading the Desktop software and will appear "There was an error updating your software, an error has occurred while downloading the Blackberry Desktop Software.Please try again." and preventing the process. Seems there are some change on the server side starting this week which has caused this problem, but there's no error code to locate the exact issue.
    I tried on 2 different computers as well as completed uninstalling and re-installing the Desktop manager, also tried to disable the automatic update as been advised in some threads. So no clue how to deal with it for now. It will be highly appreciate if some one can share some idea.

    When I checked in TC WE05 says that  IDoc: 0000000000355113 Status: Error during syntax check of IDoc (outbound) with status 26 .

    Actually we will monitor idoc status in BD87 in SAP BI As well ECC , while extracting the data from source sytem  if any idoc struck we will manually process in BD87 , But you are telling that while loading the datasource the error occurred , so please check once in ECC side . Otherwise see how many packets are still process, make it red that infopackage and do manually update.

    The workflow settings are not proper it seems. Ask the BASIS people to correct the Work Flow Settings. Then try Updating the IDOCs manually.
    Also check the Inbound and outbound IDOCs in the Source system. The outbound should contain some warnings or errors.

    I have same problem but its RESOLVED by the following process.
    Step - 1
    execute  the Function module "SCP_LANGUAGES_IN_INSTANCE".  It may or maynot give some output. Just note if it give the output
    Step - 2
    in Transaction SE38 execute the program "RSCPINST".
    Just Click on the Activate button (dont select anything).
    Step - 3
    Again do the same thing specified in Step - 1.  Now it will give the output saying that Language is DE.
    So by the above procedure my issue is been resolved.
