4500X command parser bug for monitor capture

I have had a question about wireshark support on the 4500X switches. I thought there were some capabilities missing from my 4500X-24 running 3.5.2E but as I was entering my question here I realized what the problem is.  I thought capabilities were missing because the question mark doesn't doesn't display all the options:
Switch#show monitor capture ?
  file  Display captured file
Switch#show monitor capture mycap ?
% Unrecognized command
But it just seems to be a parser bug because it does actually accept and execute commands as documented:
Switch#show monitor capture mycap parameter
   monitor capture mycap interface Vlan11 both
   monitor capture mycap interface TenGigabitEthernet1/1/7 in
   monitor capture mycap match ipv4  any any
   monitor capture mycap file location bootflash:mycap.pcap buffer-size 1
   monitor capture mycap limit packets 100 duration 60
I just thought I would pass this along.

  • Monitor Capture for IPv6

    Trying to capture IPv6 BGP hello traffic with monitor capture feature without success.
    With the monitor capture for IPv6 traffic active and running; If I traceroute (IPv6) from this same router I do see the IPv6 traceroute traffic but NEVER IPv6 BGP hellos.
    NOTE:
    IPv6 traceroute traffic is not shown in the below output because I already cleared the V6BUFF buffer before running the show command.
    My setup:

    David,
    You are right, theer are some changes incorporated in the latest MLR # 16 on the configurations files and on the dehydration store metrics(such as performance, fields,..).
    However, I would not suggest to continue working on olite, even for Development/Test purposes as you might get stuck with strange errors...and the only solution would be to re-install SOA Suite if your olite gets corrupted. There might be ways to gets your olite back to position, but trust me..its not so simple.
    Also, when you develop and stress test all your testcase scenarios in an TEST Adv installation, its simple to mimic the same in actual production box, as you exactly know its behavior.
    So, go for a brand new SOA 10.1.3.4 MLR # 5 (or) 10.1.3.3.1 MLR # 16 SOA Suite Advanced installation with Oracle DB 10.2.0.3 as its dehydration store.
    Hope this helps!

  • OracleCommand Parsing Bug

    I am using Oracle.DataAccess.dll v2.111.6.0 and have encountered a bug in OracleCommand's parsing algorithm.
    This code should run properly:
    using (var con = new Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection(connString))
    con.Open();
    using (var c = con.CreateCommand())
    c.CommandText = "SELECT 1 FROM dual WHERE ''=/**/'' and 1 = :p1";
    c.BindByName = true;
    var p = c.CreateParameter();
    p.ParameterName = ":p1";
    p.Value = 1;
    c.Parameters.Add(p);
    var r = c.ExecuteScalar();
    Instead it throws an OracleException with the message "ORA-01008: not all variables bound".
    With a little digging I found that the problem is that once the command parser in the OracleCommand class encounters the combination of characters - */' - it enters an invalid state which causes it to ignore any parameters defined afterwards and as a result the parameters are not sent to the oracle engine.
    Is this bug known and, if so, is there a fix?

    Hi Anthony,
    I saw you're using Windows XP, so you can use the "patch" utility found in the GNU tools for Win32. You can download the "patch" tool here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=23617&package_id=32165
    Download the patch that fixes the issue, http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/berkeley-db/xml/update/2.3.10/patch.2.3.10.2
    The patch tool should be run like this to apply the patch:
    BerkeleyDBXML_2.3.10_root_dir>"C:\Program Files\GnuWin32\bin\patch.exe" -p0 -i patch.2.3.10.2 --binary

  • Useful for monitoring HDV in Final Cut Pro?

    Here is a new blackmagic card for HD. Seems like this could be a cheaper way to monitor my FCP timeline. I normally edit HDV shows either natively of as AIC compressed. But I have to monitor it through the "desktop cinema preview" feature which doesn't show interlacing. So I don't really see the true picture I'm editing. This new card would seem to allow me to monitor on a modern consumer TV with HDMI input.
    To good to be true?? Probably. What does anyone think?
    http://blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/
    Paul

    It's made for capturing other than HDV directly from camera in a live situation... not tape. Once captured as something else, it can be used to send the HDMI to a consumer HD set. Once on tape though, it's HDV all the way. This thing is an odd duck piece of gear used for special setups.... it's not what you need.
    What you need is a Matrox MXO, or capture card that will convert the HDV to uncompressed HD or SD for monitoring...

  • Invalid parsing schema for current workspace ID

    I have an application that captures different SQL statements (they make use of DB links) and dynamically executes them on demand.
    I use apex collections to get the result rows for the SQL and use them to both query on the UI as well as send out emails using the returned data. This is all OK and works fine.
    I then added another feature to my application where I support the scheduling of the running the SQL / sending out of the emails. It uses the same logic as I use from within the application but it fails with the following error ...
    Invalid parsing schema for current workspace ID
    when the SQL is being used to populate the collection.
    The scheduling is done using the apex plsql job scheduling package. It's as though the context that the job is running in is different from that of the application I created. The strange thing is that it can still see my tables that I created as the queries return data from my tables but for some reason seems to have an issue with the use of apex collections.
    Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Scott,
    Today the error mentioned in the last post occurred 3 times - the highest number in a single day yet. Also, to add to the dilemma, a new one occurred:
    ORA-20104: create_collection_from_query_b Error:ORA-20101: Application collection exists
    Knowing that the create collection process is called from a post authentication process I don't see how that the collection could exist for that session... Any ideas?

    Hi Sergey,
    thanks for reporting these problems.
    1) DROP MATERIALIZED VIEW not possible/ dependencies must be tracked when created as PREBUILDI logged a bug for that.
    2) LEVEL (in connect by clause)and DATE(as literal) special words does not recognized by view's parserFor such cases is good to have Select statement posted here.
    Problem with LEVEL is fixed for next release, at least what we know as problem - your query can still have it :)
    3) Even set genaration Materialized view with REDUCED precision (in the case of PREBUILD) no appropriate clause generated in DDLThis works in DM 3.3

  • Is this bugs for Sun Java System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 (errorStoreDP) ?

    Hi,
    I installed Sun Java System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 under window xp environment.
    I used the following command to deploy war file, it worked for me (because I setup enough services and role for amadmin user), deploy/undeploy was worked very well for me.
    pdeploy deploy -u amadmin -w amAdminPassword -g -p
    amAdminPassword -v portletsamples.war
    Two months later, I did not change anything (configuration) within the two months.
    I use the same deploy/undeploy command to deploy war file again, I got the following error =>
    errorStoreDP (sms-UNKNOWN_EXCEPTION_OCCURRED)
    Message:The user does not have permission to perform the operation.
    Why this condition happened ? is this bugs for sun portal server ?
    I uninstall this sun portal server and reinstall it again, I still got
    the same error message. why ?
    But funny thing is that I format my machine, then install window xp and
    install System Portal Server 6 2005Q4 again, then it works for me again.
    is this reasonable ?
    I really don't know why ?
    Can someone help me ?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    It seems you are really asking how you should design your application to use portlets.
    Your approach now seems to be that you would just copy your servlets to portlets. You can use the PortletRequestDispatcher to include content from your servlet. See http://portals.apache.org/pluto/multiproject/portlet-api/apidocs/javax/portlet/PortletRequestDispatcher.html
    I also found the following discussion on this topic http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00481.html
    But I don't think I'd recommend that approach for your application. How would you maintain the application going forward? You will have both servlets and portlets to maintain when you change the applicaiton. I assume you will be keeping the servlet application and using it also? Do you want the portlet content to match the servlet content always, or will they display differently?
    Instead, what you might consider an model-view-controller approach and designing a web service (the model) for both applications (servlet and portlet, views) to consume.
    As for the basics of porlet applications, the JSPPortlet will use JSPs for presentation of hte portlet content. GenericPortlet is the default implementation of the Portlet interface. Implementing the portlet interface means you must write the implementation yourself. Here are a couple of good tutorials to get you started on the Portlet spec:
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-08-2003/jw-0801-portlet.html
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-09-2003/jw-0905-portlet2.html
    Also there is this JSE tutorial, but I don't know how current it is:
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/portalserver/reference/techart/portlets.html
    Hope that helps.

I don't know if this is the best way, but thats what I have done there for passing some arguments, where the order of them isn't pre-given (you can pass the params in the order you want).
    The CAPITAL vars are pre-defined final Strings holding the param-names, e.g.
    public static final String ONE_PATERN = "-p";
    public static final String PATERNLIST = "-plist";
    public static final String PATERNFILE = "-pfile";Another trick sometimes used in Linux/Unix, if you have only false/true combinations, are numbers from pow 2 (2,4,8,16). In C they are used because of the binary representation, but it has some benefits. E.g. a value of 2 (0010) and another true set on 4 (0100) results binary in 6 (0110), so you can mix parameters in only one value, and with a byte - array you could check, if the flag for a given param is set. But this way is a little tricky for the end-user.

  • DC LAN infrastructure - Mirror network for monitoring

    Hi experts,
    Does anyone have implementations examples of a "mirror" network in large datacenters designs for monitoring purpouses using TAPs (ex. netoptics or gigamon)? I'm evaluating some monitoring solutions but it's mandatory to configure mirroring on the switches to capture the traffic on the network. As the DC is large and there are another devices that need mirroring (IDSs, IPS, Probes) I'm thinking in implement a "mirror network" in all datacenter using TAPs. I'd like to see some implementations examples of a "mirror network" to evaluate if this strategy is viable.
