  • How do I get all the music on my IMAC in one folder. We have one IMAC and 3 sign ons. When add a song under one sign on it doesn't add to all 3 libraries.

How do I get all the music on my IMAC in one ITUNES folder? We have one IMAC, with 3 sign ons for me and my 2 teens. When you add a song under one of the sign ons it doesn't add it to all 3 libraries. Before I updated to LION,  We had one main library with all the songs we bought, imported from cd's etc. Then any of the three of us could add it to our own IPOD instead of buying the song agin. It is one house, one IMAC. It was working fine under Leopard.

The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

  • I bought a song the other day and it only downloaded about a third of it. How do I fix the problem when iTunes doesn't recognize the mistake?

Bought a song the other day and it did not download correctly. I am over 50 and a little new to using this technology so please pardon me if it is an easy fix. iTunes will not allow me to download it again or to even buy it again, so I cannot figure out how to fix it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Error to download songs on 12 days of gift

I try to download song from 12 days Gift app in my iPad, but the download had failed. And the songs stuck on my Itunes app (Download tab). Can you help me with the solution ? Thank you

Try rebooting if you haven't already. This happened to me and rebooting seemed to kick start it in to action. So many more glitches with IOS 7 since greedy Apple have changed their products to suit the Chinese. Their focus has changes from Quality to Quantity.

Thanks for this post. It corrected my similar issue. Note that you need to exit from/re-enter iTunes after deleting the song from your Purchased list.

  • Why can I only download one song every 90 days?

Everytime I try to download a song from my purchased it says one song every 90 days!

    Hello, bridgeted.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your computer has been associated with another Apple ID in the past 90 days.  Here is some information regarding this process.
When you turn on iTunes Match or Automatic Downloads, or when you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. Your Apple ID can have up to 10 devices and computers (combined) associated with it, with a maxium of 5 computers at any time. Each computer must also be authorized using the same Apple ID. Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days. You can view which devices or computers are currently associated with your Apple ID, remove unused devices or computers, and view how many days remain before the devices or computers can be associated with a different Apple ID from the Account Information page in iTunes on your computer:
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID

  • Is it possible to stop songs from repeating day to day on any model.

This is my first post, but I am a long time ipod user. I was wondering if there is an efficient way to "train" an ipod (shuffle or nano) and iphone from repeating songs from one day to the next. I have a suffle and iphone. I use the iphone in the car and shuffle in the gym. On either device I may hear the same song Mon, Tue, and Wed (without syncing or anything that would change the music file structure) but there are songs that I never hear. I know of the repeat option on the album art screen on the iphone, and I also use smart playlists which helps curb some of it. In addition to that, I dont saturate my phone and fill it with all the music I can fit. I actually try to keep them both at about 50% of capacity or so via the smart playlists. Regardless, I still get the issue with hearing the same music over and over and I was wondering if there is a specific step in itunes or on the device itself that Im missing which essentially would keep the devicefrom ever playing the same son twice at least from one sync to another?

    No.
    Sorry.

  • Apple says i can't download songs for 90 days?

I logged on to my sisters apple account to download a few albums as i didn't have any money in my account. When I went to log back on to my account it said i couldn't download songs for 90 days. I want to be able to use my account as since christmas is coming up I will want to download xmas songs. I have tried going on the threads and one person said they rung up apple support and they were able to reset the 90 day ban? I have looked everywhere and can't seam to find a solution apart from wait iit out. I also can't listen to my songs at all!

christmas is coming up I will want to download xmas songs
    Emerald,
That 90 day limit kicks in when the device is used on a different account.  However, purchasing Christmas songs will not be a problem.  Click here.

  • I bought a song on my iphone and even after syncing I cannot add it to a playlist other than purchased. I dont want to buy the song 2x!

I cought a song thru itunes on my iphone 4s and when I try to sync to my library, it still wont let me copy/paste or drag/drop the song into a playlist. It is stuck in the "purchased on your iphone list" and that blows! HELP!

    Hi lini08,
The article below will show you how to transfer purchased music from the iPhone to your computer.
The article has more details and screen shots, but the basic information is quoted below.
Once the song is on your computer, select Music > Songs or search for the song in your library.
You should be able to add it to any playlist you want.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
If you want to transfer iTunes Store purchases from an iOS device or iPod to a computer, be sure to authorize the computer before connecting the device. After connecting your device to the computer and its icon appears in iTunes, go to the File menu, then Devices, and choose Transfer Purchases from "(Your device name)".
Or, you can Show Sidebar from the View menu, and then right-click (Windows or Mac) or Control-click (Mac only) your device in the iTunes Source list, then choose Transfer Purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
Please note that this feature works only for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library. Please see this article for more details.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • Adding folder to library doesn't add all songs

Long story short, lots of songs disappeared from my library. I think I figured out how to get them back, but it isn't quite working. Dragging the entire Music folder to the library causes iTunes to freeze. Importing each individual CD folder only copies some of the songs -and sometimes none of the songs at all. What's going on, and how can I fix it?

FIrst scan the system for viruses with your antivirus program and scan for malware using Ewido or your prefered spyware?adware scanner http://www.ewido.net/en/
Also try disabling your antivirus program, it my be blocking iTunes from a "Mass scan" or "Mass Writing" if these folders contain alot of songs or afew big songs. It is well known here iTunes doesn't want to get every song when you use the add folder feature in windows for some reason.

  • Itunes doesn't add all the songs from my library

    Hi,
Had to reinstall Itunes and now the program doesn't add all the songs from my library (roughly 4,000 songs). All that is added is maybe 20 songs, and always the same ones. It has worked perfectly before.
I have tried to "pull" all the artist folders into the Itunes window, but it doesn't work. I have tried to set another folder as the Itunes library and then choose "add new folder", but only those 20 songs are added. I have made sure so that none of the files are copy protected or "read-only".
    Please, help!
    Best regards,
    Jonas

Ok, I deleted the two files and upon startup iTunes did run that search wizard for music files. However, it only found 4 songs that are located on local harddisks, and did not (as far as I could see on the network status) even try to search on the network harddisk.
One more thing though, that I forgot to mention before. I tried to solve this situation by installing an earlier version of iTunes... 4.6 i think, but when I tried to run the program it told me something like "Cannot read the file iTunes library.itl since it was created by a later version of iTunes". Where can i find that file, and should i remove it and try to add the songs with iTunes 4.6 instead?
(Thanks so much for all your help!)

  • I have an apple earpods and I use them for my ipad but when I want to skip a song by tapping the middle button twice it doesn't skip the music so what to do?

I have an apple earpods and I use them for my ipad but when I want to skip a song by tapping the middle button twice it doesn't skip the music so what to do?

The procedure is Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>Add another email address. The email address has to be a valid working email address, obviously. Apple should verify the email address and you have to go to the inbox of that email account, read the verification email from Apple and follow the inductions in the email in order to complete the verification. Then you go back to the settings, uncheck your email address and check the new email address to be used as the contact email address.
