4G connection super slow with freedome

My internet connection is super slow with freedome. Normally without VPN I get 50Mdown and 10Mup, but with freedome I get only about 8Mdown and 10Mup. My ping is still pretty nice 35ms with your service. (normally I have 25ms ping) I use 4G USB tethered internet from motorola moto E phone. I already tried and they did nothing or made it worse: Tested many other servers/location, Disable firewall and other security applications, Reinstall windows (I had to do it anyway in near future), Made speed tests at different times and many times. I just made a year subcription for your service and atm your service is unusable for me.

Hello The_Monkey,
Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. Do you still observe  speed issues?
Note that any VPN Application will lower connection speed. Also tethering isn't supported with Freedome.

  • MacPro  Running Super slow with Photoshop CS5

My MacPro is running extremely slow with Adobe Photoshop CS5. I have tried uppping the ram usage to over 14 gigs of ram and its still even slower than my macbook pro. the healing brush is the slowest, but even layer masking seems to lag a lot. how can I fix this?

There are dozens of threads, faq, guides, tips on how to configure a Mac especially for CS5. Best places to start.

    Scratch drive or array
    Disable Spotlight on scratch
Move your files to scratch for work and then save as you go and move back to media drive when done
fast system drives. maybe even SSD if you can, or 10K 600GB VR
Upping RAM helps if you work with large images, layers, etc (in some cases 16 or 24 or 32GB, and if you can run in 64-bit mode get a little better).
    Some specs on the setup?

  • Remote Desktop Connection Mouse Slow with Windows 2012

    Hello:
I am connecting to a customer site with Citrix and using Citrix's Remote Desktop. I know this may be a Citrix issue but not sure. Customer isn't helping so thought I would check here.
I have two connections to computers in their network with Remote Desktop. One is to a Windows 2003 Server which works fine. When I connect to Windows 2012 the mouse is slow. I tried adjusting the mouse settings but it doesn't help.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it an issue specific to Citrix or to Remote Desktop in general?
    Thanks,

check out this blog, it's for virtual PC though but also using RDP.
just try it out whether it helps or not

  • NEW MACBOOK PRO WITH 2.5GHZ CORE DUO ADN 4GB 667 MHZ / SUPER SLOW WITH DSL

I just received this beautiful laptop, which was blazing fast with my wireless connection in the house, but after installing Adobe InDesign CS3 and Office 2008, it takes literally minutes after each click on-line. Any ideas, or is the software too much for this laptop?

    Hi,
Could it be that Spotlight is currently indexing all of the new files that were associated with the newly-installed apps? Look at the magnifying glass icon on the far right of the menu bar. If it has a black dot in the middle of the magnifying glass, then Spotlight is indexing files. The indexing process tends to slow down the entire system when it's running. If this is the case, just wait for the indexing to stop, and your system performance should return to normal.
    Hope this helps,
    Ken

  • Unable to connect / super slow speed WiFi

Ok I am pretty good with all this stuff but I am totally stuck here :-(
What it comes down to is that I cannot connect Wirelessly to the Airport Extreme.
Wired everything works fine. But wireless the speed is terrebly slow and connection dorps and/or times out.
Here is a list of what I did so far:
Updated and restored the software multiple times...
Restored the software from 2nd MB pro
Did complete restore (couple of times!)
Reset all network settings in the MB Pro
Flushed DNS cash in the MB Pro
2nd laptop has the same problem
    iPhone can connect just fine!!!!
Verified hat the signal is clear on the channel.
Tested with and without the WPA/WPA2 Personal security
    Tested with a fixed channel
Moved Airport elsewhere in the house (MB is sitting very close the the Airport Extreme....)
    Replaced the Airport
One MB is on 10.6.8 (reloaded the combo update as well) The other MB Pro is 10.7.2
Any imput is greatly appriciated !!!!
    Rogier

Both machines have the same problem. Strangely enough my iPhone 4 connects just fine!
The problem must be in the Airport Extreme that we already have replaced after I first tought that the Airpot card inside that unit had failed....

  • Mid-2010 MBP super slow with 10.9.4 & lots of backups on disk

After four years of recovering beautifully from spills and falls, I think my overly ambitious software updates may have done in my mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
Aside from the usual Internet and word processing, I use my MBP for video editing.
About two months ago, I finally upgraded from Snow Leopard (10.6) to Mavericks (10.9.3) because I wanted to switch from FinalCut Pro X (and my torrented FCP7) to Adobe Premiere CC.  I immediately downloaded several Creative Cloud applications and noticed a bit of slowdown, especially when using Premiere.  Figuring the Creative Cloud video apps were too much for my old MBP, I deleted everything except Photoshop and Muse, and I purchased a desktop PC for video editing on Premiere (waiting for it to arrive).
I deleted several Creative Cloud applications and about 100 GB of video files (transferred from my Mac HD to an external HD).  Immediately after, I saw an available software update and clicked it, upgrading me to the new Mavericks 10.9.4.  Right after that, the Creative Cloud desktop app stopped working, so I reinstalled it.
After that, my MBP slowed down considerably.  It takes 10-20 minutes to open any application, including Activity Monitor and Disk Utility.
I backed up using Time Machine (took about 8 hours), and I repaired the disk using Disk Utility.  Repairing the disk hasn't sped anything up.
I know my hard drive is way too full, but I can't figure out why so much of it is going to backups.  Since my hard drive is more than 80% full, shouldn't Time Machine automatically delete local images to bring it back to 80% at the very least?  I'm using my external hard drive for Time Machine backups, so I don't know why so many are on Mac HD.
I can think of so many things that could be wrong - I only have 4GB RAM, my hard drive is almost full, and I probably shouldn't have installed Mavericks on such an old system in the first place - I'm not quite sure how to start fixing this problem.  I'd like to be able to continue using my laptop for web browsing, MS Office Suite, FCPX, and FCP7.  I'd be fine with reinstalling Snow Leopard (I still have the DVD), as long as the files on my hard drive are still accessible.
I'm planning to go to a repair specialist on Monday, but if anyone has advice on fixes I can do in the meantime or things I can do to make his life easier, I'd really appreciate it!

    Metacalf,
I have the same model MacBook Pro as you, and I’m running OS X 10.9.4 on mine without problems. I’d highly recommend that you upgrade your RAM; our model can work with 16 GB of RAM when Mac OS X 10.7.5 or newer is installed. I’ve got 8 GB in mine, but I’m not doing any video editing; you’d probably find 16 GB to be best. If your video editing is disk-bound, then you’d also benefit by replacing your internal HDD with a SSD.

  • Pages'08 super slow with Japanese characters

I understand that Pages'08-slowness has been discussed on this forum already. I'd like to add my experience and ask for ideas. Maybe somebody else has already solved this problem somehow.
When I start writing in Japanese in Pages'08, after some time the application will slow down to the point that it takes 2-3 minutes for Pages to open just a menu or display a character. The HDD is working heavily. I usually try to at least save the document and force Pages to quit.
Quite a disappointment, as I did not have the same problem with the earlier version!
    I appreciate your comments.

I should have mentioned this before, but I just noticed that the type lag occurs worst when typing within a table. In a document, I have a table that is four columns by twenty or so rows. When I type or do anything inside the table, the %CPU for Pages is as high as 89%! Outside the table, it's around 20%. In a blank document in Pages, typing takes between 16-20% CPU. Still, that seems like a lot of power, so I checked Word; it uses less than half the CPU, about 7%, while typing in a blank document. Holy cow! (r.i.p. Phil Rizzuto) I did the same test in a new user account and the results were identical.
I'm thinking this is a Pages problem. So, in Pages preferences, I turned off "Show auto-completion list" - no change. Turning off "check spelling as you type" helps some, but still a noticeable and annoying lag. But I don't want to have to turn off Pages' features just to be able to use it. I also tried deleting the .plist files, didn't help. Maybe I'll try a re-install of iWork.
Is it normal for Pages to take up this much CPU? When I get home I'll test it on my G5...

  • My internet speed is super slow with wifi. I have a 5th generation Airport Extreme

I have a 5th generation Airport Extreme and a 2nd generation Airport Express as an extender. I have Xfinity as my broadband provider and live in a decent size condo. In the last two months, the speed through my wifi has been horrible. In most cases, I can only get 2mpbs download and barely 1mpbs upload. The hard line connection through my iMac gives me 150mpbs download and 50+mpbs upload consistently.  I've reset my routers and check for the latest software. I'm wondering if the interference from my neighbors wifi signals are to blame. Can someone please help me in restoring some decent speed with my wifi network?

It's entirely possible that the problem is interference, although resetting the Airports should force them to search for and lock in on the clearest channel available to minimize that.
Start by simplifying the network. Shut off the Express. Test while connected to the Extreme via WiFi. How's the performance? Can you ping the hard wired iMac from the Wireless network?

  • Why is my Mac is super slow with removable hard drive plugged in?

I have all our photos on our 1tb HD and every time I plug it in I get the spinning pinwheel for any task. Help!!

Could be the OS X is trying to keep an updated index of files and folders, of that hard drive. You may have to look into the settings to stop external drives from being indexed by 'spotlight' search. There may be other reasons why the lag occurs, in that the drive is relatively huge and it is a hard disk drive, not a flash or SSD where the information is stored, retrieved differently, and at much faster speeds than a HDD.
You could read up on how to stop the external drive from being indexed, or how to have it ignored by the computer's operating system. An example follows, but not necessarily an exact method: http://osxdaily.com/2011/12/30/exclude-drives-or-folders-from-spotlight-index-ma c-os-x/  Or maybe it just isn't indexing correctly and needs some other action, see this example: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23831185#23831185 where ivan says: "read in another discussion the solution, go to Spotlight preferences and into Privacy add your hardrive to the list where you don't want Spotlight search, then remove it, and Spotlight would begin the correct index and stated a time."
What is the spin rate of the external drive in question? Is that a 7500RPM drive? The buffer or cache size may not be as important for a non-boot hard drive when compared to the purposefulness that could perform for an OS X in pre-loading files for a specific purpose, such as to run an application or perform one task.
What kind of enclosure do you have the drive in? Sometimes the drive may be a little slower because of how it is accessed, and if the computer and enclosure both support a higher-speed connectivity, that's best.
The spinning wheel usually represents CPU activity, but that could also mean pending action while the files get found and transferred, since the internal HDD where the system lives also has to spin-up for the OS X to function, move temp files, & virtual memory space on the System's HDD is read and written too, all the while.
So you could look into Activity Monitor to see if some of that spinning wheel is due to the computer and what exactly, relative to files, activity, CPU, RAM, virtual memory, etc is going on. Or some of it, anyway.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Macbook Air internet connection painfully slow with ethernet.....

    Hi all
I am currently staying in a serviced apartment and have a Macbook Air that I have had to connect to the in-house LAN through the USB port (someone on here was kind enough to suggest this - I'm a bit of beginner at all this!). The connection is painfully slow (it claims to be connected but pages in safari don't load, iTunes won't load etc.), but the ancient IBM pc on Windows XP conencts through the same at a good speed.
I am also in a wifi environment but my Macbook Air doesn't connect to anything - it keeps timing out (even when it can recognise several unsecured networks). Can anyone advise?

Mine is slow too! The Charter tech was here for four hours today, redoing the entire building. Every other Mac and PC here are up to speed. The new Mac Pro Octo has never been up to speed. I really don't have time to put hours into what I suspect will be a dead end. Apple needs to look into this and help us out.

  • GLSL super slow with JOGL

I'm porting an application from Visual C++ to Java, and I'm using JOGL for the Open GL calls. Everything was going fine until I started using GLSL, then things got really slow. I'm running on exactly the same machine as the original application. The original app was fast, and I have not changed the GLSL code, so I know the problem is not in hardware or in the shader code. Maybe I've got something configured incorrectly? Is JOGL rendering in software for some reason?
If there is a better forum for me to be asking JOGL questions, please let me know.

slow as in, when i load itunes, it takes about 15 seconds before i can choose a playlist or scroll through the source window, (spinning beach ball) and when adding music, the spinning beach ball spins for a bout 20+ seconds before they even start to be added to the playlist window...
im guess its the size of the itunes database file being edited by itunes... currently 17mb... so thats what made me think if i were to loose all my playlists and use the browser (something i dont like the idea of, but would do if it would be faster) it would improve things maybe?? • Mac Pro is super slow with wireless

So I bought a Mac Pro from amazon and had the mac store by me install the airport extreme card. I have a n spec router for my wireless network. I did a speed test online cause it seemed to be running slow and I was getting anywhere from 9000-12000 kbps on the macbook pro and I can only get about 1500 kbps with the mac pro if I'm lucky. I was trying to download a 50 MB file and it was going to take over a half an hour. I get this same speed with all computers disconnected from the network. I spent three hours on the phone with tech support and went back to the apple store today to make sure it was installed correctly. I'm back home and getting the same speeds and I'm totally out of ideas. Any ideas? Otherwise, is there some third party wifi product I can use to pick up the signal?

    well.
ive always had a playlist for every album in my itunes.... and with 52 gb of music... i have a quite a few.
i recently changed it so that in the source window there is a folder for every artist, and inside the folder there is a playlist for every album...
i want to know if i delete all my playlists, and just use the itunes browser, will this speed up my itunes... or is it just the shear amount of music?
    many thanks

  • Music Playback Super SLOW with no audio ouput HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am seriously frustrated with this Ipod Nano 2nd Gen... I received it for Christmas and had no problems with it at first. But yesterday the battery indicated it was time to charge. At the same time, music playback became very very slow, and no audio output thru the headphones. I cahrged it completely, reinstalled the newest verson on itunes and software version for the ipod... I even restored the thing (wiping out ALL of my music, much to my dismay) and stil there is no change. Playback is about 1/10th of what it should be- very slow and still no audio output. The interesting thing is that playback is fine when I play the ipod files through itunes- but when disconnected the ipod just *****!!!! I am getting very frustrated and want to throw this thing out of the window! Please help!!!

Try troubleshooting using the steps found here. If the troubleshooting doesn't help call Apple. You have one free phone support that's good for 90 days from the date of purchase. The warranty for the iPod is good for one year.

  • InDesign Super Slow with Mavericks?

It seems no matter what I've tried... shutting Fusion, reducing number of window etc
It helps for a short time and then begins to crawl.... even doing a simple postard
It is just deadly working on my 120 page catalogue!!!!!!!!!

InDesign "appears" to be working better since installing the 9.2 update. However, the update has created a new problem – I can no longer print to my printer. Initially it appeared to be a problem with certain fonts or a linked image. I tried printing a document that I printed just prior to the update and printed it with success. I  then created a new document, retypeset the information using the same typeface and the document printed with success (copy and pasting same text into a new document did not work).  After about an hour or so, I was no longer able to print anything at all!! I cannot print emails, the document I printed just before and right after the 9.2 update. I tried updating the OS from 10.9 to 10.9.1 in hopes it would resolve this new print issue caused by the Adobe CC 9.2 update but I am still unable to print.
Note to self ... DO NOT UPGRADE during your busiest time at work! I thought updrading during a 2 week window of holiday downtime would be enough time to sort out most or all the kinks. However, in all my years of graphic design, I've never upgraded computers, operating systems and new software ALL at the same time. Talk about SENSORY OVERLOAD!!! I have 2 weeks left of my busy season and I'm trying to keep a positve outlook, but fast becoming anxiety-ridden with all of these obstacles and three time-sensitive deadlines due in exactly nine business days.
I am not a computer expert, so I have a great appreciation for the wonderful and informative posts made by those who particpate in Adobe's and also Mac forums.   Has anyone run into printing issues since installing the Adobe CC 9.2 Update?
Another important detail / hence not an expert ... I am not exactly sure how my printer has been working with my new Mavericks OSX iMac. Xerox has not released a driver update for the Phaser 6180 yet, but somehow it has been working just fine over the past 3 weeks.
Thank you in advance for anyone's help!
