4g iPod Nano and iMac G5 = cannot get 2 playlists from iPod into iTunes

I tried. And tried. I followed as best I could some suggestions on this forum. Tried Senuti. Tried switching to manual from automatic updating. Tried various combinations that I cannot remember. Nothing worked.
I'm new to iPods. Not a technical genius. I apologize for not adding to the two longest Q & A's on this topic, but I really would like to copy 2 playlists -- Italian language lessons -- from the nano to the G5, and am hoping a fresh start on this problem might result in a solution with steps I can follow.
I'm blaming myself, not you folks, for my inability to copy from my iPod nano.
