4G LTE iPhone 6 workability in Russia

Hello!
I live in Russia and I often travel to different countries. I'd like to buy an iPhone 6 in another county (e.g. US or Canada).
Could you tell me if GSM and LTE will work in Russia through a local network providers?
Does h/w and f/w the same for different countries or not? May be there are some features about it?

Impossible to use iPhone 4s with Megafon Russia carrier

I've bought iPhone 4s in Apple Store Amsterdam, SIM-free, which is confirmed by Apple support.
I can activate it with SIM cards from a number of mobile operators like T-Mobile (UK), MTS (Russia), but it doesn't work at all with neither SIM card of my own carrir Megafon (Russia). ICCID of Megafon cards are 18 symbols. ICCID of MTS is 20 and T-Mobile has 19 digits. It was impossible to unlock neither with 5.0.1 (default firmware) nor with 5.1 which I have now.
Apple Support view: during activation they see ICCID in "wrong" format which has letter 'F' inside, so they say that "Device may be damaged, blah-blah-blah"
Megafon Support view: all Megafon SIM cards have 18 digit ICCID, according to standard the missing digits are replaced with letter 'F'. All iPhone 4s sold in Russia through Megafon carrier are activatable.
So basically I'm stuck since neither party accepts a responsibility for this problem.

That means they are not authorized or certified by Apple to carry or service the iPhone. If you choose to use an iPhone on thier network, it may or may not function properly. If it does not, Apple can not help you. You will need to take it up with the carrier.

Have you personally tried those models with Brazilian LTE networks? Do they work? If so, fine. If not, then besides that, there is the problem of the warranty which is not international. The user will have to return the phone back to the country of purchase for both warranty and out of warranty service. So what might seem cheaper at first glance might not be in the end.
Anyways, it your money and the OP's should he want to go ahead with your recommendation.

Mexico Telcel LTE iPhone 5 when will it be available?

I called telcel to ask when they would provide LTE for the iPhone and their answer is that it is available but they can not provide the service because Apple has not released the license, does anybody know if this is true and if so when will Apple let us use LTE in Telcel's iPhone 5?

Telcel is the most reliable service in Mexico some friends from the US are surprised of the quality of the service, the problem with telcel is more on their rates and total indiference for their customers. If you have a GSM ulocked phone, buy a chip for about 10 USD and pre-pay and you should be fine, if you do not have an unlocked phone go to a 7 eleven or Oxxo (similar but mexican chain) and buy a cheap phone (about 20 USD) and you should be fine, just consider that they some time take 24 hrs for activation of your line.

4G LTE iPhone 5: Carrier Settings Update never came

Hello,
Just to say, before I start: This question is related to Switzerland's Swisscom's 4G LTE network and iPhone 5.
I have updated to iOS 6.1 (for Swisscom 4G LTE compatibility, it's now compatible), but didn't get the carrier settings update, and when I reset the iPhone (including erase all content), I got the Carrier Setting Update and it enabled 4G LTE, but I have progressed in lots of apps and games (mainly apps), and it will be very difficult to do a full restore and recover all my progress etcetera. How can I get the Carrier Settings Update? I went to Swisscom, and they said to erase the iPhone, but again this would be a big inconvenience and I am trying to avoid it.
Sorry about any problems: I'm not very tech savvy with iOS devices, and this is my first post here so I may have put in the wrong section.

Well, I've connected my phone to iTunes, and still nothing has come. My friend's iPhone 5 did have enable LTE, when he updated and I believe he got it over the air, and didn't connect it to iTunes. iTunes is still syncing...

It's suddenly appeared. My three friend's iPhone 5's carrier settings update came straight away after updating this morning (we updated together), and mine has come about 7 and a half hours later... but still, it's come. I don't think this was related to iTunes (by the looks of it).

LTE, iPhone 5 and Wind

I Have updated to iOS 8 and now I have the LTE option. I went to Wind shop in Milan and I have changed my nano SIM with a new 4G.
EVen if I am living in an area with a full 4G coverage I continue to have "only" 3G (I turned ON LTE and I wrote Internet.wind for the APN).

After some more thorough reading, I've found the answers I was looking for my situation.
Wind, in Canada at least, doesn't actually have LTE yet. There is no point activating the LTE option on my iPhone because Wind hasn't implemented that network yet. They have HSPA+, which is faster than earlier 3G, but is still considered 3G, so that is why it shows up as 3G when I'm connected. I thought it would at least show H+, like my other phones do, but perhaps the iPhone doesn't have 'H+' as an option to display, so it just shows 3G.

Charging iPhone in Europe and Russia.

I will be traveling in Europe and Russia. I have the Apple World Travel Kit which consists of plug adapters for countries and regions, a power adapter, and a USB cable and connectors.
Can I safely plug the World Travel Adapter into European 220-volt outlets to charge my iPhone, i.e., does the Apple World Travel Adapter adjust for 110 or 220 volts?

The Appke chargers are all universal on voltage and frequency, 100-240 volts, 50-60 Hz, you can safely plug in with either the World Traveler adapters or plug pin adapters available at many international airports.

To me have brought from England and have presented iphone 3gs with contract O2. How to me to make оффициальную an unblocking iphone that I could use sim cards of local communications service providers? I live in Russia, the city of Moscow. To go to England and to make there an unblocking at operator О2 I have no possibility. To do джейлбрейк and to put unlock I don't want!!! Help please.

No problems with your English - my Russian would be much worse.
If you have paid your full contract period with O2 in the UK, then they may be willing to unlock it for you. They can charge £15 I believe but its free if you are still inside your contract term.
There is no other legal way for the phone to be unlocked - Apple will not do it for you.
If you still have your contract details, then you can go to the O2 website and chat with an operator there.
If you do not have the details then you are probably stuck as you are.

Lte iPhone 5 for non-partenered carriers

Hello.
I'm from Uruguay and I currently have an iPhone 5 factory unlocked, using it with the carrier Antel (which is not partner of Apple).
The thing is my carrier has announced that lte coverage is now avaible. However, since it's not an 'official' carrier I can't activate the LTE option on my iPhone cause I won't get the 6.1.4 carrier update.
Do I have an option or I just won't be able to ever use the lte?

Hola Pablo,
The issue with LTE from ANTEL is the version of iOS on your device - it only works right now with 6.1.2. A friend has it working on his iPhone 5, but it has iOS 6.1.2.
Now, with the recent upgrade to iOS7, supposedly ANTEL is working on getting LTE working with that version - we'll see how long it takes...lol
As an FYI, the LTE speed is amazing - we tested it using a BlackBerry Z10: 26Mbps/26Mbps. I'm certain that will change as more and more users begin using it, but we had LTE connectivity in all of Montevideo and Punta del Este.

Bad idea. The warranty is not international. If it requires service, you will have to physically bring it back to the US.
If were any problem Apple in Spain send it to USA, the repair time delivery would be more than normal. Some people have had problems with USA models and their iphones were replaced with Spanish ones ... (not always )
Spain rollout for iPhone 6 has been reported in the press to be 26 September, if that's any help.

Not able to connect iPhone 6 on LTE

My carrier recently has launched LTE on band 3. Although I am in zone where LTE coverage is very good, I wasn't able to connect to LTE.

Check with your provider and see if the models you are trying to use are compatible, carriers normally used more than 1 channel.

If I upgrade my 3G phone now, but in 6 months want iPhone LTE, will I still get subsidized device?

Basically, I have a Galaxy S on its last leg. I have unlimited text and data as part of my plan.
I want an iPhone, and I'm eligible to get a subsidized upgrade in 5 days. HOWEVER, Verizon has already said that sometime this summer, they are doing away with unlimited data, so it would behoove me to upgrade my phone NOW so that I maintain my unlimited data.
BUT, in 5-6 months, the new iPhone will come out and "more likely than not" be LTE.
Verizon has said that they will basically try to force everyone to move to LTE anyways, which requires a brand new contract, meaning I'll lose my unlimited data anyways.
So my question is:
I need a new phone. My Samsung won't even charge half the time...
So, if i 5 days (May 30) I get an iPhone4S, that will obviously extend my current contract.
If in September/October, Apple announces a 4G LTE iPhone, could I get that phone at the subsidized price?
I ask this because getting a 4G phone requires a 4G contract, meaning that Verizon will cancel my 3G service contract and sign me up under their 4G contract. So technically, wouldn't I be a pseudo "new" customer at the point, and qualify for the subsidized device prices?
If not, I'll just wait the 5+ months for the new iPhone, but if I would qualify for the subsidized LTE device even if I upgrade my device in 5 days, then I'll do it that way so that I can finally bury this phone.

As you have mentioned, you will be in a unique situation when the 3G unlimited data switch occurs.
Currently if you were already on 4G and you wanted the 4S now, you would not be able to then buy the LTE in 6 months with a discount.
It looks as though you can keep your unlimited data if you choose to pay the full retail price for a new phone. Will have to see if that makes sense for you.

Customers who purchase phones at full retail price and are on an unlimited smartphone data plan will be able to keep that plan.

Differences between iPhone 3GS in UK and iPhone 3GS in Russia.

I am working on an iphone app and we recently published it for the Russian market. We have problem on using it on iPhone 3GS in Russia, it keep crashing.
We tested the app in UK on 3GS and 4 and it has been working fine. Does anybody know if there is any difference in the iPhone 3GS used in Russia, I found out their models are MC132RS and are different from the models used in western Europe. It may also be the network provider?
