4G Mi-FI won't connect to printer

Help!  I cannot connect my new wireless printer (Kodak ESP 7250) to my new 4G MI-FI, although I can connect two of my PC's to it just fine.  I've tried changing the passcode, level of encryption, etc., but to no avail.
Help!

All right.  I think I’ve got this one figured out.  However, it was fairly painful from a connection perspective.  For whatever reason, the Samsung SCH-LC11 4G Hotspot (Stand alone MiFi) did not automatically assign an IP address to my Kodak ESP 7250.  Therefore, it only saw it connected as a static IP, but with no true connection in that I still couldn’t print anything from it.  That being said, this is what I had to do:
Starting with the Admin page for the Samsung SCH-LC11 hotspot (web page format), I went to the Security > MAC Filtering tab. I entered the MAC address into the “Trusted Client List”.  I obtained this value from the Network > LAN > Connected Devices List at the bottom of the page
Secondly, I then went to the Advanced IP Address Setup page on the printer (See “Setting up and IP address” page 9, http://resources.kodak.com/support/pdf/en/manuals/urg01130/ESP_7200_xUG_GLB_en.pdf) I manually entered the IP address that I wanted (the hotspot supports 5 devices, so I chose the IP address furthest away from the beginning, the range of which is listed in the DHCP Server section of the Network > LAN section of the Admin page for the Samsung SCH-LC11 hotspot), entered Mask, Gateway, and DNS Server addresses (manually) obtained from the same page.
I’ve turned the printer off, then back on, as well as printed a test page from two different PC’s connected to the Samsung SCH-LC11 4G Hotspot.  So far, it's stayed connected.  What I haven’t yet tried (and am a bit scared to do) is to turn the hotspot off, then back on again.  If the connection between the hotspot and my printer stays even after all of that, I’ll feel better about it.  I’ve got my fingers crossed.  Ha Ha.

Copy the IP address of the printer from the Mac that can connect to it by itself. The IP shows when you start any print job.
Disable Printer sharing on this Mac.
Go to the Mac that cannot connect by itself and set up the printer from scratch using the printer's IP. To do this:
System Preferences / Print & Scan, then click the + sign, nxt select Add Printer or Scanner and click on IP. Fill in the info.

  • Deskjet Advantage 3540 (Envy 4500): Computer won't connect with printer during software installation

I just bought this printer and I am trying to install it by using the HP installation CD but I am running into difficulties to complete the process. The problem is that the computer won't connect with the printer (but my printer connects fine with my Wi-Fi network) and installation does not complete.
The HP software installation process appears to go  normally (at least no error messages are shown) but when it gets to the part where it asks me how I would like to connect to the printer (Wireless or USB cable) I get an error message when I select Wireless Mode. My printer appears listed but as soon as I select it, a dialog is shown stating that "network installation could not be performed".
Below are the dialogs and what happens (text is in portuguese but you get the idea)
Dialog 1: selecting wireless connection mode
Dialog 2: printer appears in list and I select it
Dialog 3: Error message is shown, no further details
    Here are some more facts:
    (1) Printer connect fines with my Wi-Fi network: the connection details are correctly shown in its display (Wi-Fi SSID and IP 192.168.0.6) ;
    (2) If I go to a web browser in my computer and type in the IP address, I can access the printer's webpage fine;
    (3) I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling HP software;
    (4) I've resetted my router;
    (5) I've executed "HP Print and Scan Doctor" utility and it states my software hasn't been installed (which I don't understand) and it tries to download HP software and install one more time and I get to the error.
    (6) If I go to "Start" menu, I can see the HP group is empty (installation only creates icons on my desktop). See picture below:
My OS is Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate (Service Pack 1)
EDIT: I've just discovered the inkjet Advantage 3540 and Envy 4500 appear to be the same printer, each target to a different market.
Help is much appreciated as I tried a lot of things to make this printer work wirelessly with my computer but without success.
    Thank you,
    Joao Pedro

  • Print server wpsm54g won't connect to printer

Hello, I had this working on 2 computers and an hp deskjet f4180 printer, but had to reinstall the os on my computer and could not get it working again- though it was still working normally on my wifes computer.
Now I was trying to set it up on a notebook computer, and have it setup wirelessly, but it will not connect with the printer, and on my computer the printserver won't show up at all, wired or wirelessly.
I tried resetting it, which it doesn't print a test page, and tried accessing it from the ip address 192.168.1.78 but that doesn't work either.
Any ideas how to get this working?

Is your computer is a Wired or Wireless? Check the IP address of your Computer if its in the range of your PS or not. Also make sure that your computer is connected to your own wireless network.
On your Computer open the command prompt window and type "ipconfig" and hit enter and post the detail output in your next post.

  • MAC book won't connect to printer

My printer used to work on my MAC book pro, but now it isn't working. I have attached an USB cord and that isn't working i tried to reinstall my hp photosmart 5510 and it keeps saying operation isn't compatiable with the system because its 10.7 and its only compatiable with 10.6 or below

    Hi jcunni10,
I understand you have a Photosmart 5510 that is not communicating with your Mac. I'm sorry to hear this, but I will certainly do my best to help!
From what you've described, I think it's best that you make sure the HP software has all been removed by following this Uninstalling the Printer Software document, and then resetting your printing system (don't re-add the printer) followed by a verify/repair of your disk permissions. Once that is complete, reboot your Mac and try downloading and running the software from this download page. Hopefully this allows you to get everything working!

  • Printer won't connect to wifi

    Hello
I've recently bought Samsung m2020/2020w  wireless printer, but I cannot seem to connect it to wifi. When trying to connect via WPS, then wireless setup light keeps flasing for 2 minutes but won't connect. Also tried to connect the printer to wifi through my PC via cable, but that gives me "general error". Sent my printer for warranty repair, but it came back as OK (they managed to connect it to their wireless networks). I've switched off my windows firewall, tried firmware update on the printer and connecting it to the router using laptop. Wifi works okay with other wireless devices such as smartphones and laptops.
    Im using Cisco epc3825 router.

    Hello,
what band the printer is using (2.4 or 5 GHz)?
What is the security on the wireless network that you use?
have you tried to connect the printer withour WPS?
because it gives you a general error in wired side, I think your problem is bigger than wireless-only issue.
I think it is better to move your post to the small business->wireless forms that is responsible for your device type.
    Regards,
    Amjad

  • Hp C4580 printer won't connect to wireless network, but see network is available.

I've sat through quite a few of the threads here with regard to photsmart C4580 printer not connecting to wireless network.
My issues started with a cartridge issue, which I resolved with a new cartridge, but only after trying out different solution offered on HP forum.
Now printer won't connect to my network which it has been connected to for over 2 years with no issues. The wireless network is working perfectly fine and I even printed out a HP photosmart C4500 series connectivity status and in this report printer can see the network I need to connect to.
I've tried downloading various programs from Scan doctor to complete install of all HP programs and even tried installing printer from Windows 7 "add a printer", but none can see this printer.
lastly I was hoping trying to locate IP address for printer which looks like it may help, but report says IP Address "not applicable".
I believe printer, wireless network and PC are working correctly, this there a way to switch printer to online so it can be seen.
    Help would be great.

  • [HP Photosmart D110a] Printer won't connect to network

    Printer: HP Photosmart D110a
    Operating system: Mac OSX 10.6.8
I'm living in a dorm room and trying to wirelessly connect my printer to my computer. I can't connect my printer to my university's network because it's protected. Instead I've been connecting to my printer's SSID network. I go into Settings --> Wireless --> Wireless Settings --> Wireless Setup Wizard --> the printer scans for routers, and then the SSID name comes up in a list underneath my university's closed network. It's called HPD110a.7809C6.
I connect to it, it says it's connected, but then the Wireless light keeps flashing blue. I go back to the Wireless tab and it shows that it's connecting, connecting, connecting... and then there's no connection.
My printer was working a little while ago. It's been tempermental and has occasionally worked. But since the last time my roommate used it and turned it off, it's refused to connect to that SSID network and has thus refused to work. I think I solved the connectivity issue I had before by connecting it to the SSID network, but now it won't connect.
Things I've tried to combat this issue:
Restarted the printer, both by turning it off and turning it on manually, as well as pulling the plug out of the back while it was on (I've read in my search for an answer for this problem that doing that can help some issues?) and unplugging it while it was off and then restarting it
Continuously tried to reconnect to the SSID network
Tried to enter the printer's IP in my internet browser's address bar; nothing came up, since it isn't connected
Turned off the wireless in the Wireless Settings menu, then turned it back on a half hour later, then waited to see if it'd reconnect
    Reset printer drivers
Updated my ePrint software and installed all availible HP product updates
I've printed out the Network Test multiple times, and each time it's said everything passes, but that I've had numerous disconnects and that the connection is low
I even moved a music player that was near my printer, thinking that maybe the metal was messing up the connection somehow (last resort)
Changed the empty ink cartridge (last resort)
I haven't tried restarting my computer, but I don't think that's what the problem is. My roommate's computer can't connect to the printer either (she's running OSX 10.8).
I have the printer in my Printer list twice in two seperate ways: One version is connected through the IP address, and the other is an option that appeared once while I was connected to the SSID network and just became a new printer. That one includes the scan option, but the first one doesn't. When I try to print something, the first printer says "Network host [IP ADDRESS] is busy.. will retry in 5/10/20/etc seconds..." and the second printer says "Printer offline."
The same thing happens with both whether I've gone into my Airport settings in the upper right and connected to the printer as a Device or not. It still shows my printer as a Device that I connect to, even though the printer itself says it's offline.
    Additional informatiom:
I don't have a USB cable for my printer, so I haven't tried that yet.
At one point during all the re-setting and restarting, I saw the printer's IP address appear in the Wireless menu as the connected network, but it still wouldn't print at that time.
That's all the information I can think of in relation to this issue; if anyone needs to know anything else, let me know. Hopefully it's enough, and hopefully someone will have the answer to my problem.
Sorry if anything is confusing or frantic; I've been dealing with this for a few days now, and I've searched all the help forums I could and looked through as many HP documents as possible, but nothing has changed the situation. This is basically my last hope.

After just switching from Cable to FIOS, I had to get my HP C4580 wireless printer back online too.
What was important was that the Printer settings knew about the IP and port changes that are impacted from the new network and router from Verizon.   How to do this is in your HP printer network setup manual and handled by their driver when its installed on the PC.
If all fails, try hooking up to your printer via an USB cable and start from there.  Make sure everything works wired before trying again from a wireless setup.  Youll end up with two printers in your Windows Printer choices, one for USB and one for Wireless, but thats no big deal.
