4G NETGEAR AirCard/Sierra 760s Wifi Modem - How to Setup Shared Folders on MicroSD Card?

Hi All, I have tried extensivly to setup the Network Sharing feature on my Sierra 760s Wifi modem but have not had any luck. Ive reviewed the NetGear setup instructions in addition to fourms but everything fails to work.  Could anyone point me in the right direction with this? Things I have tried so far -  NetGear Setup Book - Mac OS X Open Finder. Select Go > Connect to Server.... Type http://aircard.hotspot/dav/. I get an error message saying the server is not available. I have also tired the BigPond versions in similar formats, the error message changes slightly but still to the same point of "computer says no". Any help would be great! Cheers,Matt

I'D ALSO ADD: If you still have troubles try using the IP address instead (it will be the default gateway in network and sharing). 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.1 Default password admin. Oh and you need to be connected to the 760s's wireless network to log in.

  • Notebook+cable+N95 as wifi modem, how to?

    Good day!
I've got my Wifi broken on the notebook, so I was searching for information how can I connect to internet using my N95 as a wifi modem. I want to connect the phone to notebook via usb cable, turn on wifi on N95 and start using it as wifi modem.
PC suite allows me only to use it as GPRS modem.
Can anybody please help me up with the matter? I am really struggling to find any info on that.
    Thanks in advance

Basically, what you want to do here is use the N95 as a USB-connected WiFi adapter, right?
I'm afraid that can't be done.
You're much better off buying a real USB WiFi adapter. They're inexpensive nowadays.

  • Activation of a Bigpond Sierra 760S 4G modem

I'm trying to get the above device going for a non-computer literate resident of a retirement village. Very frustrating!
Firstly, the device does not reliably connect to my computer.
Eventually, I've managed to run BPSignMeUp and get the message Modem Registered and Account Activated. However, the Set-Up fails and I cannot connect. The device was bought about 2 weeks ago and promises by Telstra to activate it have proved fruitless. Today, I rang Bigpond yet again but was told that activation would take between 2 days and 2 weeks as from last Friday when the activation request was received. That is not true. The request was made soon after purchase.
The owner is thinking of returning it and getting a WiFi router instead. The Telstra service is not what was expected. To wait up to a month to use the device is not acceptable.

    Ozeb,
Not a problem, we'll take that into account.  Have you responded to Esther's private message about your issue yet?  If not, I'd advise doing so, as the sooner you're able to respond there and send your details through to us, the sooner we'll be able to investigate your modem issue and have our social media tech team resolve it for you.

  • How to setup a network with airport cards

I have an unusual lapse in figuring out how to set up a network with an iMac and iBook both with 10.4.7. I have an Airport card in both machines after my Airport base stopped working properly. I have Comast DSL.
The iMac is working fine and connects to the 'net but the iBook does not and also does not connect to the network. I cannot seem to grasp the many variations of the network options; I'm not a novice user but the network aspects fly over my head.
Is there any resource available that can explain thoroughly how to set up the network, or perhaps give me a "recipe" for setting up the Network and Sharing options? I've tried to find this info to no avail. Right now I cannot join the iBook and I know there must be an easy way to do this.
    Thanks in advance.

  • HT1549 Can anybody tell me how to enable shared folders regardless of the number of sub folders?

Rather than having th "get info" and enable file sharing of every sub folder how can you enable file sharing in any depth ( number) of sub folders in one easy way? Any help appreciated.

You will not find a serial number with the CD if the product is Educational version or Volume License ( Enterprise) version. For Educational version, you need to submit the Proof of Eligibility for the serial number. Contact Customer support for detail. For Volume License serial number, you need to login to the Adobe Licensing Website (LWS) then login using your email address that is used to place the order. If you do not have a password, you can create a new one from the login screen. Login to LWS and you can find the serial number there.

  • How to hide shared folders to some users...

    Hi,
Is there a way to hide the shared folders from users and only give them access to the dashboards to run the reports? We are using OBIEE 10G

if you remove read permission to the shared folder, you wont be able to see the dashboards associated with that folder. you can try using traverse folder option.
if you want that the user should only be able to see the dashboards then you can restrict access to answers and assign read permissions to the dashboards so that they cant modify dashboards.
to restrict the access to answers - goto administration>manage privileges>Access to Delivers
to assign read only permissions to dashboards goto administration>manage interactive dashboards and change permissions accordingly.

    Hi,
Not sure you mean local computers or domain environment. In domain, we can create folder redirection GPO.
With this policy we can redirect folder to a shared folder or another local drive.

  • AirPort to AT&T Unite Pro (Netgear AirCard) - how to?

I just switched from a cellular based Internet provider (that used an "in the antenna" based modem that terminated in an RJ45 Ethernet cable) to an AT&T hotspot (Unite Pro / Netgear AirCard).
How does one set up the AirPort (TimeCapsule) to grab the AT&T hotspot signal (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz) to run through the AirPort? I have an extended network of Airport and AirPort Express units around the house and barn and simply need to get the baste AirPort / Time Capsule unit to grab the AT&T signal. For whatever reasons, since being dropped by the old ISP the AirPort doesn't seem to even want to be recognized by the AirPort Utility. Very confusing (not to mention frustrating).

With the proper setup, it should be possible to use a wireless Ethernet bridge for the communication with the Wi-Fi portion of the hotspot. The wireless Ethernet bridge could then be connected to the WAN port of a Time Capsule by cable. There are wireless Ethernet bridge devices from several manufacturers (examples include Linksys WET610N and Netgear WNCE2001). Some AirPort Express models can also be configured to act as a wireless Ethernet bridge.

  • HT4145 How can I use an Airport Extreme to act as a Range Extender for an Alcatel One Touch Y800Z WiFi modem/router? I get a message saying it cannot be extended. Thank you. Arup

How can I use an Airport Extreme to act as a Range Extender for an Alcatel One Touch Y800Z WiFi modem/router? As we live in a rural area and our landline broadband speeds are awful, I have moved on to a 3G provider in the UK (EE/Orange) and set up the wireless modem which is working very well with an iMac. I have an Airport Extreme base station which was previously connected with an Ethernet cable to the landline router, and two Airport Express stations as Range Extenders. I would now like to use the Airport Extreme and the two Express stations to extend the range of the Alcatel WiFi device. I have tried automatic and manual set up with the Airport Utility but at the crucial step for selecting a network to extend, although the WiFi device is recognised, I get a message saying it cannot be extended.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
    Arup

This is a problem with a lot of cheap end wifi hotspot like devices.. sometimes you can just swap the sim out to a real 3G wireless router.. that is a better approach IMHO than wireless repeater ever will be.
    In the meantime..
Have a go with the suggestion.. place the express as wireless bridge. With a computer connected to the wifi from alcatel unit.. (I am amazed Alcatel still are in domestic market.. I thought they sold out). Set the express to join the wifi.. you do this in the airport utility.. old one is easy.. but in v6 you have to trust to luck so to speak and hope the auto setup works.. tell us if you have trouble.
With the Express bridging.. you can then plug it by ethernet into the TC.. which will be in router bridge..
    ie
You can then run the connection from wireless or ethernet on the TC.. and it will relay back to the alcatel for internet.. all a bit dodgy but who knows.. it may give you what you need.
Wireless repeater is never particularly reliable in my experience. I would avoid it if possible.

  • Hi, I asked about my WiFi modem? Sorry but I don't understand any of the suggestions given to me. We don't have an Apple Store where I live, the rest of it's over my head. I also don't own a PC. Any other suggestions? What's IPS?

What I want to know is why did my WiFi modem work just fine for a whole week, now it doesn't. I can't get any Internet access if it's connected, if it's not I can't download apps from AppStore,as I have no Internet access. I'm tech literate, I don't understand what an IPS is, I don't know about ports and numbers, and there is no Apple store where I live. So now what am I supposed to do? My mum bought me the **** thing, it cost her $150, and it's worked for a week, and then excuse my French, **** itself! Can someone please help me, and in English please? I've only had an iPad since Christmas, I don't have a PC and wouldn't know how to do any of that stuff if I did. Very Frusterating!

You asked about IPS. I believe you mean ISP, or your Internet Service Provider.
Since you don't have a computer, you won't be able to change the router settings.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Connect Airport wirelessly to WIFI modem

    Hi
I have an Airport extreme and want to connect it wirelessly to a Sierra WIFI modem.
the arrangement is WIFI Internet > Sierra WIFI Modem ...... need this link???....> Airport>computers
How do I se up the Airport to "see" the WIFI Model

With the help of AirPort Utility you can configure your AirPort Extreme to "Join a wireless network", when opening the Wireless tab. Although this doesn't extend your Sierra Wifi. The only profit you have of this setup, is to share a harddrive or a printer wirelessly using the Extreme.
The AirPort Extreme isn't capable to extend the wifi of other routers using wireless only. This has to be done using an Ethernet connection between your modem and your AirPort Extreme.
