4G option missing on Lumia 820 after Amber update

I bought Lumia 820 from singapore (Starhub variant), it was SIM-unlock can use any SIM. i came back to my country Bangladesh. it was working like a power house. i'm ok with the performance. later i faced one power problem issue. i took my handset to Nokia Service center. they fixed the problem as we ll as update my firmware to amber update (which i didnt request to do for Nokia care official. they did it by their own), it was working good, all new feature data sense, sms call block, nokia smart cam, radio etc. every things works fine but i found 4G option is not available in the data selection mode. only 2G & 3G is available. later i checked in nokia web site and found the FW version is for bangladesh only. my question is the FW blocked the 4G option due to no 4G service provider or any other issue. i chose 820 only for LTE option because i traveled a lot to SGP and KL for business purpose and their is 4G service available.
again yesterday my phone got restarted automatically after that i can not sync google contact (only) and my SMS+Call Block option is wiped from the settings menu.
can any one suggest how i can solve this without going to Nokia Care center because local nokia care center service is not good enough to deal with. if no one is available answer my question than i need to visit NOKIA CARE center.

hi mate,
if the 4G option was initially present on the phone when you bought it from Singapore, it appears that your local Nokia Care point has flashed the Amber update for your local region (Bangladesh). as LTE services are not widely available in your country, as you have rightly said, 4G is not present in the options.
unfortunately in this case, there is nothing you can do except to go back to Nokia Care and tell them to put the initial firmware (w/Amber, mind you) back onto your device as that was why you bought the device (to use 4G services).

hi mate, do you have an Indian country variant 720 do you? i would check this and also liaise with Nokia Care in your country directly as to the status of the update. if the update has just been published recently, then it can take a few weeks before it rolls out as it is a phased roll-out.

Problem with my Lumia 928... started after Amber update.

First, I to state that I love my Lumia 928 and the Windows Phone 8 OS. Second, I've been a Third-Party Microsoft developer for over 14 years and just started developing for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. So, I'm not a normal consumer but one that will try everything in my toolbox before asking for help or even writing posts like this.
History:
As of October 6, 2013, Verizon is sending me a new phone (not guaranteed to be new. ) to see if that fixes the issue
Used for work and personal emails so I can't just go and do a "hard" reset without have extreme headaches.Last resort before I get my "new" phone, I've broken down and started doing a "hard" reset (actually this is my second time).
No damage to the phone (Verizon employee has confirmed these, hence the new replacement)
No cracked screen
No frame cracked
No water damage
Shortly after the Amber update, I started having problems. In order of oldest issue first.
Lock upsRandom apps just freeze. No rhyme or reason. No pattern. Just all over the board.
No touch responseSide buttons work but that does be no good when I can't select anything on the screen. Solution, "soft" reset and things are good... for a while.
Phone call speakerStarted losing phone calls. Thought it was a signal issue until I noticed that the call were not actually dropped. Speaker just started cutting in and out (completely) and sometimes it would just dim to almost nothing and then come back.

This is new as of October 5, 2013
October 4, 2013, nothing was wrong. Then the next day, my Live account associated with my phone stopped working. Keeps saying "Not up to-date". Had to create another account to get my emails. As of today, it's still not working. Unfortunately, I didn't write down the error code so I can't post that here.
Is anyone else experiencing these issues after the Amber update and if so, what did you do to resolve it (if you did)?

The Amber update came to our Lumia 928 and we had just activated it like one or two weeks prior, so we were just getting to know the phone. In answer to your difficulties following the Amber update:

My screen is cracked due to a drop, prior to the Amber update. (Yeah, it was nearly brand new when I dropped it ) That doesn't seem to affect the overall function of the phone though.
So, to sum, I am experiencing some of the issues you described, but I'm not sure it's Amber, maybe just the phone design itself. I don't know that a "new" phone will resolve things either. Please do keep us posted...

My Lumia 820 will not update to WP 8.1

My Lumia 820 was given to me by a Nokia employee. None of the upgrades to WP 8.1 have been available via phone update. The Software Recovery tool tells me "Software package not available for this phone".
The phone is a UK variant, so taking it to AT&T will not work. Do I have any other options available?
Current firmaware version is 1232.2103.1240.1001
OS version is 8.0.9903.10

@Kennedyi in the Software Recovery Tool, your 7-letter code (Nokia Product Code) is mentioned on the left-hand side. No Windows computer or USB: The same code is printed on the label below the battery (05…). That code determines your firmware variant which determines your current version. We can check together whether you have the correct variant, only with that code.

Very low audio quality after amber update

After installing amber update audio quality and volume has dropped significantly! Volume through speakers is alot lower, and when plugged into headphones audio lacks quality and depth. There is barely any bass and volume is very low, sounds like listening to a clock radio very disappointing, as audio quality on my 920 was very very good the best of any phone so far before amber update!

i haven't noticed that with my 920. have you tried performing a soft reset and also check that you are up to date with all the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store?

Touchscreen issues after Amber update

I have never had an issue with my Lumia 928 before the Amber update. Now my screen goes unresponsive about every other day, and I have to do a reset. Is anyone else having this issue?

Sorry to hear that. You said that you've done a reset, may we know how did you do it? Did you press and hold the volume down and the power keys until the phone vibrates? Or did you reset it by going to Settings>about>Reset?

Missing Adobe PDF reader after Anna update

I can't be certain that I lost the PDF reader because of the Anna update, but after the update I noticed that I no longer have the Adobe reader app and if I try to open a PDF file, it says it's an unknown file.
Can someone help me re-install Adobe reader that came with my phone?

Problem after amber update on L620- India

I got my 620 updated from a nokia care centre 2 days back. But after the update, the screen hs stopped being as responsive as it was earlier . Especially the bottom of the screen just abve the windows, back and search keys. It rarely works with a light tap and i have to tap hard a few times to make it respond. Its exasperating to say the least. Some help anyone?

I have updated my lumia 520. After it there is regular fluctuation in my internet connection even my data setting is on and battery is also discharging quickly after update.

have you checked that you are up to date with all the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store? also try performing a soft reset, and check your Network+ and Access Point settings in the Settings.

Search option missing from iWeb site after MobileMe transition

I'm assuming this is a residual bug from the transition to MobleMe, but I've just noticed that my site published with iWeb is missing the Search box on the home page. Just curious if anyone else has had this, or anyone has found a fix.
Tried republishing the site, but still no joy. Also tried viewing the site via the new MobleMe address as well (as opposed to old .Mac address), and it's missing there too.

Strange, my friend on the latest Firefox could not see the search bar, but when I asked her to load into Safari, the webpage loaded up fine (on a Powerbook). I then tried to load up the page on Safari with my Powerbook, but no dice.
I then booted up into Windows XP and tried viewing my webpage via IE 7, Firefox 3 AND Safari, and the search bar STILL does not show up. The search bar is not limited to Mac OS X and Safari (on a Mac) right?

Dead lumia 620 after software update

Hi all,
My lumia 620 is not working anymore after I installed the software update. It seems the screen does not react anymore... So I can't give in my pin code.
A few weeks ago I replaced the broken screen, and all worked perfect. Ever since I installed this damn update, it doesn't work anymore.
It's a pity, because I like this phone.
Anyone can help?

Missing HDMI1 in xrandr after system update

Hey archlinux crowd,
I am running arch on my (now 4 month old) Samsung Ultrabook NP940X3G.
It worked out-of-the-box immediately. Nice!
But probably a month ago a system update (which included intel drivers) shredded my external port. HDMI1 was missing from xrandr, instead DP1 and VIRTUAL shows up in addition to eDP1 which is the actual laptop screen.
I tried to investigate but stopped soon. Eventually, another system update a week later fixed the problem.
Now, after updating the system two days ago the same error occurred again. Reboot and HDMI1 is replaced by those mentioned fellas.
Anyone with similar problem or ideas?
