4g VZAcess uses SMS for usage reporting

The new VZacess ver 7.6 uses SMS to retrieve data usage from Verizon. I had to turn on SMS on my Data Stick to get usage via VZAcess and for messages about usage. Then I started getting unsolicited messages that I have to pay for. I contacted VZ support and they turned off premium message. They believed that the Verizon messages would not be blocked. I am not sure if Verizon messages are blocked but VZAcess will not retrieve usage since the change. I will put up with not being able to retrieve usage via VZAcess and have to just logon to the web site to check usage.
I do not have a block on one of my other lines and I added that number to the SMS list of phones to send usage messages to.
I wish that they did not change the usage reporting, in the older version they uses HTTP to retrieve usage data.
I also wish that they would fix the WEB page so that if you have a 10 gb plan it says 10 and not 0. They are cutting off the 1 in 10 so it say I have a 0 gb plan. The usage bar on the WEB page doesn't reflect usage either.

I registerd concurrent program and linked xml reports and data defnitions in staging instance, and successfully moved to DEV.. after that stage is refreshed and when i download the details from DEV and uploaded to Stage only concurrent program i can upload...Wheteher we can use FNDLOAD Command for the Data definitions or Data template for the XML Report,used FNDLOAD for the concurrent program, it uploaded only concurrent program details.

When to use webdynpro for developing reports instead of ABAP Editor in R/3

As mishbah told you , that there is no hard and fast rule for reporting throught webdynpro.It all depends on client requirement .Now if you want to develope alll the reports by using webdynpro without your clients request , then you need to explain the advantages of webdynpro reporting above abap reporting.
for e.g. Webdynpro reports can run on browser, They can be posted on portal, Easy handling and maintenance and reusability.
Other than this i guess if you can show some business profit to the client, then i think every client would like to go for webdynpro reporting.

Hyperion download using GR55 for ZCCY reports

Hello Gurus,
When I was downloading hyperion report using transaction GR55 for ZCCY report, the download was showing large amount in Debit (Fixed cost) and large amount in Credit( Variable cost) for the same account number which ordinarilly should not. see below.

Using opendocument for child report

Hello Experts,
One my webi report(parent) is likned with another wei report(child)using hyerlink and opendocument.
Now my requirement is to hide refresh button of child whenever it would get opened (After clicking on hyperlink on parent)
So every time, user clicks on hyperlink on parent report, child report should get opened without 'Refresh' button.
Is there way out to this problem using SDK or url reporting?

With the SDK, you can create your own Web Intelligence viewer. Other than that, there's not way to control the refreshability of a document other than using the security model (i.e., do not give rights to a user to refresh the document).

Upgraded to IOS 8. iMessage has changed for the worse, losing messages now. How can I force iMessage to use SMS for some contacts?

SMS works well and is generally free for most plans here. I'd like to be able to send messages via SMS from my iPhone for many of these contacts because something changed in IOS 8 iMessage and now iMessages seem to get lost. Plus as before they can end up in multiple threads. This latter issue seems to be worse as well with iOS8 but not sure why.
For example one friend set up an iPad with her apple ID and subsequently gave it to her son. She also has an iPhone. I've been exchanging iMessage/SMS's with her which worked fine until the upgrade. Then she stopped getting my messages on her iPhone. Turns out that they were landing on the iPad. While it may be that she doesn't have things sorted correctly on her iPhone that doesn't change the fact that prior to iOS8 she could get my messages. So I'd like to designate her and a number of other contacts as SMS only.
Additionally I am seeing more multiple threads from the same contacts. Not sure why but it seems to have something to do with iOS 8 sucking in additional email addresses, e.g. @icloud.com and subsequently using these in some messages even though the contact is the same person. I've tried adding the new email address into the contact card I have on file for that person and this simply resulted in two threads with the same contact name.
Really what is up with this and why does Messages need to keep track of all this info? The only requirement to direct a message between to iDevices should be valid Apple ID's on both with a means to reference this (Phone Number, Apple ID Email Address) in the respective contact. In the absence of this the message should be sent as SMS.

I have the same problem on iOS 7.0.3. With one particular friend I receive iMessages from her just fine and I can send her iMessages from Mac OS X and Messages on iPad, but Messages on my iPhone keep sending her my messages as Text messages. I send iMessages just fine from the same iPhone. SFChuch, what ios version is your recipient using? Did they sign up on iCloud? I wonder if the problem happens with recipients who are not properly registered on iCloud or some special case like that.

Using JRC for reading report stored in DB

I would like to create a ReportClientDocument (or finally IReportSource) for us in JRC viewer from a report which is stored in a DB, instead of the local file system. Is there a way to get an IResportSource instance from a stream read instead of referrig to the local file system.

Getting subtotals using classes for ALV report

Take a look at this sample code.
Define and implement an event handler method for event subtotal_text. Register this event with SET HANDLER.
2. Call a subroutine within this method and pass the event parameters to that subroutine.
3. Event parameters ep_subtot_line and e_event_data contain reference variables to generic data type DATA. This is why you must use field symbols in the subroutine:

Dynamic Query for a report

Hi,
I have to generate a report which contains a query with database link. This database link is not hard coded and would be picked up from another report which contans a link to this report. So this database link value for the query could be any. Can anyone guide me hot to write a dynamic select statement so that i could append database link value at run time.

Hi,
You can not directly use a PL/SQL query to create an Interactive Report - that is not yet available.
What you could do is create a collection from your query and then use that for the report. Have a look at: [http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32472_01/doc/appdev.300/b32471/advnc.htm#BABGHJFD].
In there, you will see APEX_COLLECTION.CREATE_COLLECTION_FROM_QUERY - this allows you to create a collection from a string. You could add a PL/SQL process to your page that runs "On Load: Before Header" that actually creates the collection. Something like:

Then, through Shared Components, Application Items, create items that will hold heading names - for example, G_HEADING1, G_HEADING2 etc - one for each possibile column.
Now, update the process to:

Using CSS with Linked Report Field

I'm using the CSS Style width:150px on a report column that has a link. However, when using a CSS Style on linked column the formatting doesn't work. If I remove the link the width setting takes effect. How can I correct this? If I embedded the link URL in the query data it will format fine so there appears to be something different happen when Application Express generate the link.

When a report column is rendered as a hyperlink, the CSS style you specify is not used, that is used only for regular report columns.
Try putting your style as style="width:150px;" in the Link Attributes in the Column Link section (where you specify the other hyperlink details)

CrystalDecisions.Web.resources.dll for Crystal Report 2011

I recently install Crystal Report 2011and I try to use localization for Crystal Report Viewer in a .NET web application.
I read several tutorials which say to use CrystalDecisions.Web.resources.dll. I don't find this dll for Crystal Report 2011.

I believe you are looking for Crystal Reports Viewer which was a separate download correct? Currently there is no download for CRV 2011. It's in the works and the link should be made available in a few weeks, no exact time yet.

Marketing Campaigns using SMS

Hi,
Has anyone ever configured CRM to use SMS for Marketing campaigns?
Is there any useful documentation on it?
I have the best practice guides but there is no mention of how to do this.
Any help/advice appreciated.

There are several drawbacks with the standard functionality that you will encounter:
- SAPconnect only supports HTTP url posting or RFC destination setup (which means you need a third party server program)
- The mail forms do not impose a limitation on the length of messages
- Target groups do not check if the person has a mobile number.
If you look at SMS gateway providers they normally allow use via web service or SMPP. If you plan on doing "bulk" campaigns where you will generate multi-thousand messages a month then you need to use one of these options. SMPP is a binary protocol that is way too complicated for a business application to implement. So web services is your best bet.
If we used mostly standard CRM functionaliy we would do the following for SMS:
- Use the segment builder to handle our target groups
- Use the personalized mail functionality
- Use the open channel exits for segment execution to handle the communication to SMS gateway.
Now keep in mind that for SMS campaigns this is going to be cubersome, and not going to provide all the mobile marketing functionality you need. It still appears that even for CRM 52/2007 that mobile marketing is not really fully addressed in the solution with several major gaps.
We ended up going down a custom route, because the segment builder was not-user friendly and unstable in CRM 40 and the mail form technology did not meet our needs for sending messages and creating template based scenarios. We still make use of the CRM business partner master for the distribution.
If you have any further questions on doing SMS campaigns with CRM, please let me know. This is one area where I have spent some extensive research. If you are looking for SMS gateway providers in the US, I can also provide some names based on our previous research.

Patches for Crystal Reports 5?

i have a _very_ old application that uses crystal reports version 5 to support. a view years ago i found patches for CR5 on sap.com. Now i can't find them anymore. Is there another way to get a patch for this old version? Thanks in advance.

Included in the "lots and lots of changes" is a complete restructuring of the internal configuration of the .rpt file that occurred with Crystal 9. In the earlier versions of Crystal (prior to 9) you could modify the query that Crystal created from your linked tables, from Crystal 9 on you have to create a "Command" and use that for your report. If you have done that in any of your reports they will NOT upgrade cleanly - the links between the tables may appear in the Linking tab of the Database Expert, but they will completely disappear from the SQL that Crystal generates.
If this has been done for any of your reports, you will have to recreate those reports from scratch in the new version of Crystal. Fortunately, you should be able to have both versions of Crystal installed on the same machine so you can get any formulas, etc. from the old version and use them in the new version.
