4GB ram can't recognize in Win-7 Ultimate 32 bit

Hi, I just brought the Mac Book Pro 15" with 4GB ram and 2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, when i install Windows-7 ultimate 32 bit version with boot camp, can't recognize  the full ram, its only recognizing 2.3GB ram only, please help how can i tweak to see full 4GB ram, i need to work with 32 bit version only, some of my programes can't run on 64 bit version.
if any one can guide me to utilize the full ram in 32 bit would be greatly appriciated.
regards
Siva

I'm having the same issue. I have 32 bit Windows 7 Professional and it says only 2.17gb of my ram is usable. I know 32 bit operating systems don't support 4gb, but even with that in mind and the Intel HD graphics taking up memory, there's no way it should be this low. It should be around 3gb. What's going on here?

How do I hook the scanner to win7 64bit PC.  Gave it to my daughter since I bought a new Canon multifunction.  Print head in my canon Pixma went bad and no replacement...had to throw away the printer.  Now the scanner can't be used for lack of driver.  I see a pattern here Canon.

  • Can I sync two WIN 7 64 bit PCs which are on an Ethernet HomeGroup?

    1) 7 different e-mail accounts
    2) both machines typically are on when one is
    3) It is possible to add a NAS to the network or one of the PCs could function as 'server'
    4) it would be handy to be able to get on the e-mail from whichever PC I am working on but not essential
    5) I'd like to avoid having to send e-mails from one machine to the other if different accounts cannot be open simultaneously.

The simplest way is to use IMAP for each e-mail account, on both computers.

  • Can't recognize OCZ RAM

I bought a 4gb ram kit, OCZ brand. I installed it, making sure that it was fitted correctly several times. My macbook won't recognize it, gives me the one beep code. I tried swapping them out, tried putting one of my old chips and one of the new and vice versa. So they're both probably incompatible. People are suggesting reseting the BIOS or the PRAM. My question is will doing these things actually fix the problem? I don't want to go messing with my firmware unless it'll help. Is there anything else I can do to make it work? And if I truly cannot use this ram, what would be a good brand of affordable ram to use in my macbook?

    Hi,
It won't hurt to Reset the PRAM
I've never heard of that brand. Most users here suggest buying at Crucial
Might want to check out this thread. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=530157
"The OCZ module is a generic DDR2-667 SODIMM. OCZ's configurator does not list any of their DDR2-667 RAM that they say is compatible with Macs, so while this module may work fine, *the manufacturer doesn't commit to compatibility"*

  • I got a MS-7253 k9vgm with 4gb ram and W7253VMS.180 BIOS but I only can see 3GB

    Hi,
I have a MS-7253 with 4gb ram recently installed on it but in bios memory check state it only shows 312something KB (3.2GB) and BIOS is the latest one.
According to MSI's site, this motherboard is supporting upto 4gb. I've turned off the on board vga as well and my vga card is an nvidia geforce 8400GM.
the funny part is windows 7 recognize the whole 4gb but it says I only can use 2.8gb of it.
whats wrong with my M/B? is there any other update which I'm not aware of?

    Thanks for your reply,
does that mean there is no chance for upgrading ram to 4g? or by BIOS update I can do that?
I have found another BIOS update newer than what I've got from this link:     https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=153338.0
just in case if I screw my BIOS can I revert it back to what it used to be?

  • I have a brand new MacBook Air 11 inch, 4gb RAM and 256 gb SSD where the screen flickered abnormally and got dead all of a sudden while uploading a photograph in FB. Can anybody help?

I have a new MacBook Air 11 inch, 4gb RAM, 256 SSD and use Mavericks OS. It is still under waranty period.
Just few days ago while I was uploading a photograph in facebook, the screen started flickering abnoromally. I tried using the escape button but nothing was working so switched off by pressing the power button.
After few minutes I tried to switch it on but my system never waked up. Called up the Apple Support, did SMC and PRAM but nothing worked. Then I was advised to take it to Apple's authorised service centre.
At the service centre the engineers diagnoised and then said that the MLB/mother board needs to be replaced. Had waited for six-long days and today they had replaced the MLB/mother board. Now, the system came to life but nothing has booted. The screen goes white and a '?' question mark icon keeps on flickering.
After thoroughly diagnoising it the engineer said that now the problem is with the SSD and the worse thing is all my important documents and photographs etc are no more there. And I don't have a backup of the same!
While Apple Support contact centre is assuring they would replace any other parts if found faulty, but I feel differently. First, the MLB/mother board was changed now they say it is SSD problem - so if the SSD too is replaced there are possibilities of more faults coming up. All I can see and feel that this particular machine has turned out to be architectually deffective that calls for immediate replacement.
Right now I am using a friend's windows pc to write this mail.
Feeling completely miserable - all my expectatations gone after investing in such an expensive machine, loss of all my data, wastage of time and energy and to top it all affecting my daily work.
Can anybody please advise what shall I do?

Take the system to an Apple store to be fixed or replaced as the one you have has defective hardware.

  • If my Mini is running 64 bit can I run more than 4Gb RAM?

I hear ALL over the place that the mini can not use more than 4Gb RAM.
Is this a hardware limitaion of the motherboard/Processor?
    OR
Is this due to the fact that mini's run at 32 bit?
You can now easily run modern mini's at 64 bit:
    http://blog.leanopen.nl/2010/04/23/doesnt-your-mac-mini-want-to-boot-in-64-bit/
So who knows the REAL answer?
    Thanks -
    skibum

Most of the Minis are limited to less than 4GB and that is a hardware limitation. The newest Mini with the nVidia video can access more. Apple only supports 4GB because they use matched DIMMs, which on paper have a slight performance improvement over unmatched DIMMs. For whatever reason, Apple doesn't yet support 4GB DIMMs in the Mini. (I suspect that the power requirements or prices for the larger DIMMS may have affected Apple's decision.)
If you do have an appropriate Mini, then you can get compatible 4GB DIMMs from [Macsales|http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/mac-mini> or others. Regardless, although I normally trust Macsales, more than 4GB is not supported by Apple, so you have to take that in to consideration. (i.e.: warranty from Apple or Applecare.)

  • I have 2 Macbook Pros. One is a mid 2010, the other is mid-2012. I'm upgrading my 2012's memory which will free up the two 4GB ram chips in the machine. Can I use those chips to replace the two 2 GB chips in the 2010 Macbook Pro?

By upgrading my MacBook Pro mid 2012 computer to 16 GB I will have 2 - 4GB Ram chips unused. Can I put those 2 - 4GB chips into my MacBook Pro 2010 computer to replace the 2 2GB chips that are installed in that, which would upgrade its memory also.

You can install them but they will not work.  The RAM specifications for those two models are different.
    The 2010 MBP RAM specifications are:  204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
    The 2012 MBP RAM specifications are:  204-pin PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

  • Can't get 4GB RAM Upgrade to work in 2.8GHz iMac

I bought two 2GB RAM Modules @ Frys to replace the 1GB in my 2.8GHz iMac 24". It was a Mac Refurb bought from their store. When I put in both 2GB, it won't boot up. It will boot up with one 1 and one 2, for a total of 3GB. Both are running @ 667 MHz, however the 2GB is a Crucial and they say I should run part # CT817145. http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=39D3BF46A5CA7304
What I got from Frys is part # CT25664AC800. http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=F4042F1EA5CA7304
Crucials site shows the specs to be the same at first glance.
I swapped slots all around and still no dice, it won't start with both 2GB's.
So why is it booting from 3GB and not 4GB?
Can anyone be of help besides taking both back and getting the part number Crucial says, even though the specs appear to be similar.
    Thank you so much!

    Hello cwinkler
Use this first article to identify exactly which iMac model you have:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1463?viewlocale=en_US
The following article's are the iMac Spec's for the mid 2007 and Early 2008.
    http://support.apple.com/specs/imac/iMacMid2007.html
    http://support.apple.com/specs/imac/iMacEarly2008.html
To me it's sounds like you have a Mid 2007 2.8GHz that uses PC2-5300 667GHz, only the Early 2008 models use PC2-6400 800MHz ram.

I have a MacBook Pro 7.1, it has 4GB of RAM, can I upgrade it to 8GB?

  • Can I upgrade memory on Macbook Pro 13" 2.5GHz 4GB RAM, Model Z0MT7B/A

I have ordered a Macbook Pro from a retailer here in the UK. It ships with 4GB RAM but I know I will 8gb or possibly 16GB.
Does anyone know whether the memory is removable and changeable in this model, as it used to be in earlier Macbook Pro 13" models?

I'm pretty sure you can upgrade to 8, 12, or 16. As I'm looking on Other World Computing I'm seeing that for Macbook Pro's 13", 2012 - Current there are upgrades available in the sizes I mentioned. It stands to reason that the memory is changeable, seeing as how there are memory upgrades available and even videos to show you how to change the memory.

  • Can i use 4gb ram card instead of (2x2) 2gb cards in macbook pro 15" 2.0 ghz

can i use 4gb ram card instead of (2x2) 2gb cards in macbook pro 15" 2.0 ghz

    Hi John,
If your MBP is a 2011, yes, and here is one example: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/1333DDR3S4GB/
If your MBP is from 2006, the other year Apple made a 2GHz, the answer is no, as the max RAM is 2GB.
Given that it appears you already have 2x2GB installed, I'm "guessing" you have the 2011 model, so the answer is yes.

  • Does T400 can only work with up to 4GB RAM?

Does T400 can only work with up to 4GB RAM?
    Here (http://support.lenovo.com/en_NO/product-and-parts/detail.page?DocID=PD005598), it says 512 MB, 1 GB, 2GB, or 4GB memory.
So if more than 4GB RAM, will it do harm to the hardware of T400? Or just only 4GB will be used, and no any harm?

That doc was probably written when there were not 4GB DIMMs available, or at least being commonly used. T400 will work with any combination of 1GB, 2GB and 4GB DIMMs, up to 8GB total. I tried single 8GB DIMM and it didn't work
