4K support in CS6?

I'm considering buying a 4K monitor (Dell's UP2414Q). From what I've read, CS6 does not support 4K well, ie. the icons don't scale and are all but unreadable because of this.
Is there any hope that CS6 will get a 4K update, or should I start looking for alternatives? The cloud isn't an alternative for me.

Is there any hope that CS6 will get a 4K update
Aside from critical fixes and maintaining operating system compatibility most likely no further work will be done on CS6. It's not impossible, since on Mac apparently there is Retina support, but there may still be technical hurdles that prevent this liek the UI libraries' rendering code not being fit. I wouldn't spend too much time thinking about it. If it's critical to you, CC is way to go, otherwise you will have to live with things as they are and counteract them on the system level by using smaller resolutions...

hi, i have just purchased Adobe CS6 Design Standard.
Can my MAC OS 10.8.4 supports Adobe CS6 Design Standard?

Download the offline installer here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg
If it won't download directly, right click and "Save as"
    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there
    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the Flash Player folder (the whole folder)
    Empty the trash
    Reboot
Mount the DMG and run the installer.
BEFORE opening any Flash content in Safari, open Safari>Preferences, and check the Security tab to make sure "Allow all other plugins" is checked.

  • ATI HD 6000 / 7000 series support in CS6?

    Hey all,
I've been planning on snagging a GTX 570 for a while, for my upcoming use w/ Adobe Premiere. Are ATI cards being supported more w/ CS6? I may have to rethink my purchase if they are, since it appears that some of the ATI cards offer better bang for the buck in my price range.
    Thanks,

Actually, upon CS6's initial release, only the HD 6750M and HD 6770M GPUs inside MacBook Pros and iMacs will be officially supported in the OpenCL portion of MPE's GPU acceleration - and only on those systems running OSX 10.7 or higher. Desktop Radeon cards and those running in Windows will not be officially supported initially, and thus will likely be stuck in software-only mode until an update becomes available.

  • Canon 5D Mark III support in CS6 PLEASE!

    Confusing?  You bet!
Just a bit worrisome, too...  One would expect a suite of products should be managed and coordinated as a cohesive unit - no matter how big the company, no matter what the history.  But what motivates an organization to release one part early, before related software is ready?  Then we see updates of that early release come out as beta versions (RCs) several times, so maybe it wasn't really ready...  A Marketing experiment?
Whatever happened to just continuing to work on software until it is ready, with commercial quality?  Set the engineers to optimizing the parts of it that are already feature-complete.  They love doing that!  Too much pressure from management to get early sales?  Why?  Is Adobe afraid of losing market share (to ???) so that they now push to release beta quality software early and in a disjointed way?
I have to say, some parts of Adobe's recent strategy - the public beta of Photoshop CS6, for example - seem very good indeed.  Folks are happy to test software clearly marked as "beta" and which doesn't cost them, and you get the added benefit of them really wanting the release when it comes out.  We can only hope the released Photoshop product is solid and bug-free as a result of sending the beta out to everyone.
Contrast that to releasing LR apparently too early, taking peoples' money, and having them essentially be paying beta testers.  The best Adobe can hope for is that people feel they got their money's worth.  The worst?  The appearance of lack of quality and lack of coordination.
I don't mean to step on any toes here (and I apologize if I have)...  I'm just providing one person's honest assessment of what things look like.

  • Tech support uninstalled CS6 retail w/o deactivating

I was online chat this morning with tech support (Surita K.) for almost 4 hours in order to install PS CC. It kept refusing to install the 64-bit version without errors, which meant PS CC 64-bit didn't run.
In the process of trying to get PS CC 64-bit to install, the tech support agent (Surita K.) UNinstalled my retail version of CS6 and ran the CC cleanup tool - but she didn't DEACTIVATE CS6 first.
I need to have it deactivated.  How do I deactivate an already uninstalled and wiped-clean retail  version of CS6?  I want to do this in case I decide that PS CC is not  for me.
I just tried Chat support, but that guy didn't know what to do.
    Thank you!

If you install CS6 it should be activated. You can then deactivate and remove CS6. When you uninstall CS6 without deactivating it your CS6 credentials remain so when you install it again you do not need to Activate it will be Activated.

  • Why no Canon 5D Mark III support in CS6/ACR7?

Is this Canon's or Adobe's fault? Either way it is a pain in the arse! As much as I like Lr, I hate going to Lr 4.1RC for small jobs!

    Trevor.Dennis wrote:
I guess some of us (meaning me) have assumed that the full release of CS6 will have at least the same new camera model coverage as ACR6.7.
    ===
I've already installed the full released version.  No Mk III support.
I went back and re-read all of the notes concerning Camera Raw in CS6 and found none that stated it would be updated from the beta version prior to release.  Like you, and many others from what I've read, I expected that CS6 as released would contain a Camera Raw at least equivalent to CR 6.7 with respect to supported cameras.
I guess that was just wishful thinking on my part.  It does make it a pain for me, for most of my preliminary photo editing is done in LR and I currently have two options if I need to do futher edits in Photoshop--render to tiff when sending to CS6 or convert to DNG using LR4.1RC2 or DNG converter 6.7 prior to sending to Photoshop.
Either option is not satisfactory to me because my backup philosophy is based upon backing up just the changed sidecar files not the full image data and with tiff or dng sidecar files apparently don't exist.  Here's crossing my fingers that I can do all of my editing in LR until CR 7.1 is released.  Hope it is soon.
Of course I could have held off getting the 5D Mk III until Adobe supported it in CS6...nahhh I couldn't

  • No Urdu Language support in CS6

I'm using Adobe Illustrator CS6 but there is no Urdu Language in there. I mean i cannot type Urdu Language in Illustrator.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 is fine and urdu language is compatiable with Photoshop but i'm having problem with Illustrator CS6 and InDesing CS6.

    fahadsaeed50,
Is your license for Illustrator CS6 MENA (Middle East & North Africa) edition? If it is not, you will not have RTL support meaning you cannot use Urdu.
You can try getting a MENA trial of Illustrator CS6 here: http://www.adobe.com/mena_ar/downloads.html.
Or, like Monika suggests, you can use ScribeDoor. It's roughly about US $100 for Illustrator CS6 -http://store.winsoft-international.com/products/product/winsoft/scribedoor/scribedoor-for- illustrator.html

  • What graphics hardware is supported in CS6?

I receive a message that my graphics hardware is not officially supported by Adobe.  Can someone tell me what graphics card I need?

Generally speaking, yes, though you may want to pay special attention to removing nVidia software.  Start by going carefully through the control panel and remove the nVidia drivers and any other display card-related software you may find there.  There will be installation instructions with the ATI card, of course.
It may be helpful to search the web and see if you can find any sites that give ideas on what else to look for in switching brands from nVidia to ATI.  I've been through the process myself in the system I'm using now, a few years ago, and I do remember having to ferret nVidia software out from several places.
I haven't used it myself, but I've heard other people mention a software package called DriverSweeper that can help ensure all the old remnants of the nVidia drivers are removed.
If you have any trouble, write back here and knowledgeable folks will likely be able to help you get through the specifics.

  • SVG support in CS6

I see that in CS6, SVG files still cannot be inserted into a Dreamweaver page. Does anyone know if there's a workaround? I'm confused, since I thought Adobe was one of the main members of the SVG development consortium.

    Hi
The workaround is to create the svg using dreamweavers svg page type, (from: Files - New - Other - svg). Then create your svg, insert the html5 svg identifier code on the html5 page, (I create this as a snippet, so I can reuse it), copy the svg code only from the svg page into your html5 page, (Important, read the next para).
html5 uses a different svg definition than that required by html5, so what I usually do is comment out the one used by the svg document and then use a php include to insert the svg file into the html5 document. This also means that I can work with svg files from Illustrator, (and most other svg programs) and insert any css/javascript/smil  I require whilst in the svg doc type and test in Dreamweavers live view, (use CS6's apply/remove comment feature).
