4s being slow and lagging

I have noticed that my phone has started to become slow and lagging. I make sure i kill all apps that are running when i am not using them. Connected to Wifi when i can and everything else that i can tell is normal. Just need more advice on what to do. I do not want to hard reset the phone. Already had problems with Itunes before and don't want to try to figure everything out again.
Thanks

Try this
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).

I mean, it's really getting bad. I have to force quit repeatedly and then by some miracle - something takes and the program opens. Most of the time this happens with Photoshop and Firefox (which is what I use most often). PS does not have a bunch of add-ons running or installed. It's pretty much CS3 factory.
I ran Disk Utility yesterday - during the verify disc, it told me to boot from the install disc to fix the 2 errors it found. I backed everything up and I did. Ran all the verifies and repairs from the start disc.
Still running slow and by this I mean when I open an application it takes a ridiculously long time to open the double-clicked document or just the program itself to get to a new doc. I noticed it again this morning with Excel (which is something I don't usually leave open and running).
What else I have done, which helped but just a smidgen ... was to remove all the extra fonts (and I did have thousands) in Font Book. I also removed Font Book entirely because it was another program that was locking up and needing force quit all the time ... and I just plain don't like it. So I installed Suitcase Fusion and only have the bare minimum needed in there (which kind of bothers me since I am used to have thousands on hand that just need to be turned on or off - yes I know, I keep them all off unless they are absolutely needed). But I only have one set in the Suitcase (42 font family).
I got my laptop in Feb ... so this painfully slow and lagging stuff shouldn't be happening. It used to work great. I could have all the apps open, flipping between them, really getting things done.
    Here's my comp info:
    Version 10.6.4
Processor: 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    HD: 500gb but I have 345gb free
Any obvious things I am overlooking? Any suggestions on how to get this fairly new thing back up to speed?
    Thanks!

  • Why is clone brush slowing and lagging?

Before I explain my Lightroom issue, I want to describe my hardware platform because it may be relevant to solving my problem.
    Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 mghz cpu
    8 gigs Corsair ram
New Invidia EGVA GeForce 750 Ti with 2 gigs (video card)
    Corsair 520 watt power supply
4 internal hard drives, all running at 7200 rpm
1 Samsung 250 gig SSD (sold state drive)
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, Svc pak 1
    Lightroom 5.7
For the last several months I have been working with scanned 35mm slides. These, in some cases, are more than 60 years old. Time and dust have taken their toll and in doing so have provided me with many hours of Lightroom work. Typically, I am rebalancing color casts, exposures, tonal aberrations, noise induced by a careless scanning company, i.e. the usual types of edits one would perform in LR. Additionally, because of dust spots and emulsion abrasions on the slides, I am also making significant use of the Spot Healing Brush, which I use in the clone mode. This is a mighty fine and powerful tool which has allowed me to resurrect many a damaged image.
The scanned slides were returned to me as JPGs, which I have turned into TIF files to help them survive multiple edits and saves. The TIF files I am working with are mostly in the range of 40-45 mbytes.
Here’s my problem. About two weeks ago I began to notice that the more edits I performed on an individual file, the slower and more erratic the clone spotting brush became. This slowdown progressed from a near instantaneous selection and application of a clone patch to a crawling 3 to 4 seconds for the system to select a clone patch with up to 5 or 6 seconds for the patch to be applied to the defect area. Also, when I call the brush erratic, I mean that it jumps around somewhat not allowing me to position it accurately until the previous clone has been applied. Given the amount of work I still have to do on over 1000 slides, this is a state of affairs that is tough to tolerate.
Some of the slides have more than 60 or 70 edits showing in the History window. The vast majority of those edits on a given slide (I estimate 85% or more) represent individually cloned spots. The slowing typically begins at about 15-20 of these cloning edits and gets progressively worse as they accumulate.
So far I have taken the following steps to try to improve the situation. I have cleared the only LR caches I know about, those being the RAW cache and the video cache, neither of which would seem relevant given their names. I have deleted the History steps of images. I have moved my catalogs to the SSD drive. None of this has had a noticeable effect on the situation.
My question is: What’s going on here?
Are clone edits different from other edits in the way they are stored/written/cached?
Are edits typically written immediately to the catalog, or are they cached in ram or in the cpu cache?
What else could be happening to cause this behavior?
I am willing to upgrade my hardware. In fact I have ordered an Intel i7 cpu and appropriate motherboard and 16 gigs of ram. However, before I open these boxes I need more assurance that this upgrade will actually help the condition I am describing and that it is not some kind of hard limitation of Lightroom itself that will remain unrelieved by the upgrade.
I would welcome responses from anyone who could really explain what’s happening, particularly from Adobe staff. Thanks in advance for your help.

This is a known issue with Lightroom. Lots of cloning or brushing will cause Lightroom to slow down.
There really isn't much to do about this. You could either:
Get a faster CPU, which should speed things up (whether or not it speeds up enough is unknown)
Do the cloning and brushing in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, where there should be no speed issues in performing these tasks

My games are so slow too. aghh. it kills me   please help me to fix this. PLEASE

    Hi taamarco,
If you are having issues with your iPad's funcionality being reduced, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS - Apple Support
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPad -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPad to factory settings -
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Brand New Macbook Being Slow and Loud

Every time I start up my macbook pro it runs really slow and the fan is really loud. When I looked in the activity monitor it said kernel_task is using up 300 % of the CPU. What is kernel_task and is there a way to slow it down?

Is this  BRAND NEW Mac? Or one you are calling Brand New (Big difference).
If it is Brand New, like you bought it yesterday or a few days ago take it back and get a full refund and buy another that works correctly right out of the box.
But I suspect it is a few weeks/months old, which makes it NOT brand new. So if that is the case then you need to reset the SMC and PRAM.
Do a google search for how to do that.

  • Input slow and lagging in Yosemite in most apps

At first I thought the problem was limited to one or two applications, but I'm seeing it in almost all my apps now, including Apple generic apps like Mail.
Basically, I'm experiencing keystroke lags - time between entering characters and when they actually appear. This can happen here at these discussion forums for example. Or when composing a new Mail or replying to a Mail and in other situations.
In some apps I don't see any lag at all. Like Terminal. Or BBEdit (since upgrading). But in many apps I am experiencing this, since upgrading to Yosemite. I'm experiencing it right now while composing this message.
My physical RAM is 16 GB. The activity monitor says that 15.85 GB is used and there is a virtual memory of 24.40 GB and swap used of 673 MB. App memory is taking 10 GB, the file cache 1.5 GB, wired memory is 2.2 GB and compressed memory is 2.48 GB.
I'm not sure why so much memory is being used. Could that be the cause? Or is it some "Yosemite thing" people are experiencing in general?
    Thanks,
    doug

Generally, no, things shouldn't get "clogged up" and necessitate a restart. I've been running Yosemite since the first public beta, and have not seen any performance issues that require a reboot.
If you go to Activity Monitor, and show all processes, are there any processes taking a LOT of RAM (say, 4+ GB)? You have some virtual memory in use, and if a system has to swap to disk it is noticeable performance-wise. If there's a memory hog application, perhaps it has a leak and quitting/restarting it could improve performance. You have a machine with an SSD though so "paging" to disk shouldn't be THAT slow compared to machines with a spinning hard drive.

  • Premiere being slow and unstable

    Hello everyone!
However I've been using Premiere for quite a few years I've never experienced this issue before. Premiere pro is being unstable, inaccurate and slow. Playback is just not working unless I render the sequence. Clicking on the timeline is a pain. It doesn't point where I clicked it often doesn't even react thus being unusable, I can hear the computer working continuously. I am working on a studio session video with just a few effects on every clip (RGB Curves and Magic Bullet Looks) so it's not a big project at all.
    My specifications:
    Premiere Pro CC 2014
    CPU: Intel Core i7 2600
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 770 @2GB VRAM
    RAM: 8 gb @1600 mhz
Premiere is also installed on a 120 GB SSD and I have 2 scratch hard drives for media.
    CUDA is turned on.
What could possibly be the solution to this issue?
    Thank you in advance
    Marcell

Please report the exact version of Premiere Pro. There have been 4 releases under the CC2014 banner, and the latest (2014.2) includes several performance-related fixes.
Does switching the Renderer to Software-Only make any difference?

  • Slow and lagging After Effects CS5.5

    Hello!
I've tried to add some effects and preview the video with AE CS5.5 but editin is very painful. I try to preview and my fps is from 3-14 fps. It's painful to edit.
The editing video is 1280 x 720, 13min long and I've edited in Premiere Pro CS5.5 and exported it as a uncompressed AVI file. The size of the file is 16,7 Gt. I've added two effects: Remove Grain and Sharpen. I've tried to preview with Space and then FPS is about 14-16 fps but with Numpad 0 it quickly goes through the video and then it previews the video with 3-6 fps. It's just horrible to preview.
I've disabled "Enable OpenGL" and when I preview with space, there's no difference in fps and same thing with numpad0 preview. I've also tried to change the "Render multiple frames simultaneously" settings but with no success. I'm using current settings:
RAM reserved for other applications: 6 GB
    Installed CPUs: 8
CPUs reserved for other applications: 4
RAM allocation per background CPU: 1.5 GB
Actual CPUs that will be used: 4
I've also looked at my HDD activity when I preview, the drive with caches and previews don't write at all, just read the video from the drive (cache, footage, previews, and captured are in the same drive)
Is there any ideas to improve the performance? Do I have to change my hardware? Do I have enough RAM or is my CPU too slow for this? And is the normal preview with space or is the numpad?
    Current hardware:
    Intel i7-870
    16Gb RAM
    Nvidia GeForce 8600GT 512Mt
Samsung F3 1TB 7200rpm - OS Drive, software, AE, Premiere Pro and etc.
2 x Samsung F3 1TB 7200rpm RAID0 - Uncompressed Footage, cache, scratch disk, video preview, audio preview, captured audio, captured video.
2 x Samsung F4 2TB 5400rpm - Footage Both have same files, files straight from camera, not edited, completely raw material.
    Dell U2211H - monitor
    LG L1715S - monitor
    Logitech G35 - headset
    External speakers
    Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
All my drivers are up-to-date and my Windows 7 is reinstalled few weeks ago (clean install)

Okey, little progress have made with this progress. I've lowered the preview resolution to quarter and fps rose from 13 to 20-22. But still, it's not realtime. Should my pc have enough juice to run this? And is it normal that when I preview, AE uses 3-4Gb of RAM and my CPU usage is about 30-60% and two cores of eight are unused (I've told to AE to use 8 cores, 4 of them are HT cores)? And my RAID setup usage is about 3% (which is just the reading, if I move the video to the other drive, usage of RAID is 0%). Is this normal?
I've also tried to move my video to the other drive, no success.

  • Bridge is slow and lags when selecting multiple files to open.

    I currently have CS6 latest version (ver. 13.0 x64)
My problem is in my Bridge software (5.0.2.4 x64)
I have been getting a 4 or 5 second delay when trying to
select multiple files or navigating through the menu and functions.
(Photoshop also delays a few seconds when opening a file.)
After trying different solutions, I have narrowed my best guess to a
conflict with my video card or drivers.
I have a PC running win 7 64 bit. 12 gb of ram, an ATI radion 3000 video card with the
latest driver. An AMD phenom quad processor.
All of my drivers and software is up to date, including my Windows 7.
No other software on my computer gives me any LAG time or problems.

You need a better video card.  You card rates a passmark score of 106.  You probably need one at least of 500 and closer to 1000 is good.  You get a card above this score you start paying more and getting less. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/

  • My macbook air is suddenly running incredibly slow and lagging, meanwhile the fan turns on when I start it up and stays on full until I shut it down.. What could be the issue?

I opened up my Macbook Air and my fan started running on high and stayed on... meanwhile it was lagging so bad all of a sudden that I can barely use it.. the mouse jumps and my programs won't open, like its backed up. I cleaned up my memory recently so I know it isn't backed up. The fan stays on high from the moment I open it to whenever I shut it down. It has never done this before, what could be the problem???

Thank you, but I followed all instructions to reset the SMC and it has not helped. Looks like I'll have to take it in to Apple for repair.

  • Ipad 3 slow and lagging after update

    HI.
MY ipad I used to love ...it worked nice without problems but now I have many issues that make me furious.
there re is a constant lag....even in typing this message the iPad cannot keep up....applications freeze....and the entire OS needs to constantly be rebooted....
what at is going on? Is it the update I was stupid enough to install?
can apple support help me return this iPad 3 back to functional?
the ipad has not been abused , dropped etc.
help! I need this iPad to function properly .
    kickstopped

I have two ipads on ios 8.1.3 so the issue isn't the software.
do a reset, hold down the h home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release.  IF that doesn't work - then go to settings - general - reset - reset network settings - you will need to reenter known wifi password.
if that doesn't work then do this Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support

  • Why is Firefox 7 Beta so slow and lags or locks up and crashes?

Ok I noticed that the Firefox updates have been coming quite rapidly and that the latest version is Beat. I understand Beta versions will have bugs and kinks that need to be worked out. My Problem is websites load slow as crap or don't load all together. And getting on Facebook? Forget that! Facebook has enough issues without throwing a slow Browser in the mix. My question is this. Does Firefox 7 Beta have some issues with responsiveness and speed? I noticed alot of people having the same issue as far as browsing speed. And before anyone suggests clearing history and cache. I have already done that several times. I have even checked my computer for viruses and anything else that might cause a problem like that. Add-ons and any extra toolbars are either removed or disabled and certain sites will still not load properly. Any extra information or advice would be very much appreciated! Thank you! A Loyal Firefox user.

I am having exactly the same problems. I have noticed that when a website or link fails to load properly, I have to click the link a second time and about half the time that seems to work. There is clearly a problem and I am anxious for Foxfire to fix this problem!
