4S problem connecting to car aux input

Hi there,
When I connect 4S to car aux with 3.5mm I get a really had hissing/feedback sound. Had no problem with any of the other iphones. I have tried my mates 4S and had same problem so it is not my phone. I have tried alter EQ and soundlevels but made no differnece. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Owen

Hi I have the same problem.
I think what we want to do is simple but sometime tricky.
First you have to check your 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male audio extension cable is STEREO type. Not MONO Type.
STEREO Type will transfer the Left Channel of Ipod sound to left channel of your car stereo, Same as right channel.
The pulling of jack half way might make the left channel connect with both right and left of the other jack. The sound look ok but you are not getting stereo sound but mono sound.
There are many possible combination as you did not mentioned your pulling jack of half way is at the Ipod side or Car Stereo side.
My problem is I got sound like very distant away and soft and floating. But by turning the jack at Ipod clockwise or anticlockwise will make the sound normal (Not pull half way).
I suspect the female jack in my Ipod is loose due to frequent insert and remove of the male jack or headphone jack.
Can someone into audio help us on this ?

  • Media player into Aux input on car stereo

    Hi,
    Blackberry Pearl 8100
I would like to use the media player in my car.  My car stereo has an Aux input and I use it with a removable DVD viewer, it works well.  I have bought 2 x 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapters (the 2nd and 4th items here http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?menuno=13259) but neither of them work.  Plugging the lead into the device doesn't divert the sound from the speakerphone or handset in the same way plugging in headphones does.  If I wiggle the connectors about, it will come and go in one channel (left) of the stereo, but not in any consistent or useful way.
It has been suggested in one other thread ( http://www.blackberryforums.com.au/forums/blackberry-pearl-smartphone-discussion/1242-playing-music-... )that there could be an issue with the Aux input itself and the signal from the device is not high enough to drive the Aux but that isn't consistent with the sound levels that I get out of it when I wiggle the connectors.
I have checked the vehicle manufacturer manual for the audio unit and I can't find the impedance of the Aux imput or specification of it, but its a Sony 6CD audio unit.
Can anyone shed any light on my problem?  I have tried X Player over my handsfree Parrot, but the music sounds like a phonecall (unsurprisingly :-)
    Help, please..
    Gareth

the manual says "an equipment such as a portable audio player can be connected to the aux input terminal using a commercially available mini plug (3.5).
I'm almost positive that is what I bought.

  • Trouble connecting my Shuffle to my car AUX IN port!!

I've got a Mazda 3 and tried to basically use a 3.5mm jack lead to connect to the Aux In port on the stereo.
I figured this would be simple enough to work as it would only be using the headphone/speaker port, but alas no sound is coming from the stereo.
I'm gonna go pester Mazda too, but if anyone has had problems like this, any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers.

Turn up the volume on the shuffle... also make sure your car stereo is actually set to AUX.

  • Aux input to car radio issue

I have a Sony radio in my car. And I connected my Xperia Z3 compact into the aux input, using a 3.5mm jack to jack. One side goes into my headphones jack and the other goes into the radio.
And annoyingly, the sound quality is bad. I get popping noises and like whistle sound and cracking noises. And it's driving me nuts because I can't listen to my music in peace.
Sad part about this is that every other device I've tried works fine, just my new Xperia that is having the issue. It was fine with an iPhone 5s and this other samsung phone I had. Which makes zero sense because the radio is also Sony, so it should work perfect with my Sony Xperia.
So frustrating, can anyone help please.

The 5-pole jack is compatible with 3/4-pole accessories (you can for example connect standard headphones without a microphone) but i remember a case where a user had a cable where the size of each pole was different compared to other 3-pole cables which could cause issues. If you hold the 3.5mm plug of these cables next to eachother, does the poles have the same size/placement?
Did you use the same cable when you tried the dock radio?
It could also be that the phone is having issues sensing that it's connected to another device. I'm not sure but i believe this depends on impedance. What happens if you force the output using an app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix?

  • Ios 8.3/iPhone 6 problem connecting to Pioneer car stereo

    Pioneer model AVH-X2600.
There are two ways to connect to my car stereo to play music: iPod mode or Bluetooth.  Prior to 8.3 the BT connection would automatically pause my music after about 10 seconds.  After I push Play on the stereo it would continue on without issue.  Following the 8.3 update, after about 10 seconds on the BT connection there is this awful scratching/skipping noise, not unlike a skipping cd.  But after 5-10 seconds of that, everything is back to normal.
Prior to 8.3 the iPod mode would take a good 20 secs to connect, but then everything would play normally.  Now, with 8.3, it won't connect at all.
I don't have any problems with BT connections to other speakers, so maybe this is a Pioneer problem??  Anyone else having this same problem?

Apple is messing with car connectivity for the new car functionality. The "updates" are breaking iPod mode on multiple vehicles. iOS 8.4 Beta 1 is even worse. Connects fine but most functionality is broken.

  • Problems connecting Nano 7th generation to bluetooth in car

Why does my new nano 7th generation have problems connecting to my cars's bluetooth.  All it does is search, search, search.etc etc etc?

Does your car use the A2DP Bluetooth profile? If not, I'm afraid you won't be able to connect the iPod to your car stereo system via Bluetooth.

    How do you figure that?
    Companies are turning them off.

True, but "Borders Books" and other private businesses are not there to help cell phone providers. Cell phone providers would prefer I use the phone in my hotel room also, but no one does that either.

Everyone I know wants more cell towers.
You will see in the coming years, there will be a very big push towards Wifi all over the country.

  • Problem connecting Original iPhone to my car Porsche Cayenne GTS

Hi, im having problems connecting my original iPhone to my cayenne. It worked fine a few weeks ago, but then it stopped working when i reset the electronic equipemnts of the car.
    any suggestions.

    bucha_prasetio,
Have you contacted the manufacturer of the vehicle device in question? If the iPhone is supported to work with their device, then they should be able to offer some troubleshooting advice.
    Some other steps to try:
    1. Cleaning the dock connector of the iPhone. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1505
    2. Ensure the iPhone software is completely up to date in iTunes. Just connect you iPhone to iTunes, and choose "Check for Update".
    3. Reset All Settings on your iPhone. Navigate to Settings > General > Reset.
    4. If you've exhausted all other steps, including contacting the manufacturer of device installed in your vehicle, you can also try restoring your iPhone, setting it up as a new phone: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Hope this helps,

  • Connecting Nano to Car Aux Shows as OK to Disconnect

I purchased the jack to connect my Nano to the Aux in my car. The IPOD reads OK to Disconnect. None of the buttons on the IPOD work and the IPOD doesn't play through the radio. The hold button isn't on and the Aux button is showing as active on the radio screen. Any ideas??

I told the guy at Radio Shack that I needed a plug for my IPOD to connect to the Aux in my car. It has the same jack at both ends which seem to match the headphone jack. The jack goes into an IPOD/MP3 plug built into my car (2007 Acura TL) and then I just press the Aux button on the radio. When I press any button on the IPOD, none of them seem to work. The message showing on the IPOD sates "OK to Disconnect", there is also a message that says "Disk Mode". This is my first IPOD so I'm very new to this...any help would be appreciated.

  • Bluethooth  connects with car bluetooth but no sound. This problem started after up dating to IOS 8.0.2. Any suggestion to fix the problem?

    iPhone: 5s,
Problem started after IOS 8 up date.
Problem: Bluetooth connection with car indicated: connected.
Incoming call: no sound (caller's voice) from car speaker.
Out going call: no ring sound through speaker.
At random shows calling but can not hangup & no ring sound.
    Car: Infiniti G 37    2009.

I uploaded ios 8.0.2 on my iPhone 6 128 GB today 9-29-14 due to problems with Bluetooth talking to my ReSound Linx hearing aids to hopefully fix the problem. It sounds like the Bluetooth looses connection to the hearing aids and turns them off for about 1 1/2 minutes, then they come back on and I can hear again. I understand there are problems with Bluetooth and cars using the phone. I believe this Bluetooth problem is causing my hearing aid problem as my hearing aids connect to the iPhone via Bluetooth and the ReSound Smart App. I tried the reset fix, Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings as some have suggested but that did not resolve this issue either. I can't believe Apple is not talking about this ios 8.0.2 Bluetooth problem. This affects my everyday life in that I cannot hear when the Bluetooth drops.Try working with your hearing dropping every few minutes! If Apple wants in the Health field, I suggest they take their QA a little bit more serious than they are at present. Whomever was responsible for testing ios 8, 8.0.1 & 8.0.2 should be fired! This is causing more trouble than anyone can imagine. I understand the car - Bluetooth problem but think about the fact that if every time the Bluetooth drops, you can't hear.My job could be in jeopardy. I posted the problem to Apple Support and they will not even have the decency to respond with even a "we are sorry." How long do I have to go without being able to hear before Apple responds??????

  • Does ios6 resolve iphone4s Bluetooth connectivity problems with Clarion car stereos?

Clarion cx609 and iPhone 4s don not seem to be compatible.  It pairs momentarily and the disconnects, or will not auto connect after car is turned off and restarted.  Is this an A2DP issue with IP4s?  So frustrated, this seems like a simple thing.  Supposed to be plug and play right?
    Any help would be great.

  • Problems Connecting Bluetooth

I Can't get my new i6 to connect with Bluetooth. Any suggestions.

The attempted connection is to a land line Panasonic home phone.  The  car
is a 2015 model.  I did not restore the 6 from my old 4s.  Does  the name
have any relevance?  Pardon my ignorance, but I am NOT a  sophisticated
techie.  It was very simple with the 4s.  I turned on  bluetooth, put it in
proximity to the other electronics, the phone identified  them and I could
connect.  With the 6, the phone won't identify any  bluetooth device with which to
connect.  In my simplistic mind that seems  to point to a problem with the 6
or its software.  I have noted that others  report similar problems on the
internet in non-Apple forums.  Do you have  any suggestions?

  • Volume goes away when i connect ipad to aux from carradio?

When I connect my ipad to the aux in my car there is no noise left.I got already a new cabble in the apple store, does not work.Do i need to change settings on i-pad?

I've seen this before to Aux connections.
I have an iPhone with a Griffin FM transmitter. I can listen to the ipod through my car radio all day with no connection problems. If I send the audio from a youtube video to the FM transmitter, it turns off after about 30 seconds. For some reason the Youtube app doesn't "keep alive" the connection to the aux device (FM Transmitter).
If I start up a song from the iPod app first and then switch to Youtube and play audio from there, the connection will then be kept alive.
Not sure if this helps you, but that's my experiences with audio out through the dock connector.
