4s random crashes and freezes, even with DFU restore
I have a 3 week old 4s and have since had to take the phone to Fresno genius bar three times. My phone has had random crashes (preferences, mobile safari, messages, app store, words). Each time I was told that a DFU restore would fix this problem. The last they did was on Dec 21. It is now Dec 27 and my phone has crashed 6 times with the last one requiring a hard reset as the phone froze while using Safari. I understand that phones are computers and it will crash at times. However, this is a 3 week old phone, it has been less than a week from a full restore, and there does not seem to be a pattern on which apps crashes. I also clear my unused apps (double click home button and clear apps on the background) every day, so it's not like memory is tied up. And besides, a 4s shouldn't be concerned about that, right. I also have several friends that have 4Ss and have had not had this problem to the extent I've had so far? Have any of you guys experienced this?

Test the memory by removing all of the modules and replacing them one at a time and booting. Place the single memory module in the slot closest to the Processor.

M8430f Desktop with random crashes and freezes
Have had this problem for about a year now. Someone suggested checking the power supply, but I think it's pretty consistent. Sometimes the computer freezes all together, sometimes I get a blue screen... It could happen as often as twice per day, or as infrequently as once a month.
I'm sure there is a memory dump file, but I don't know where it is or what I'd do with it. Someone also suggested Event Viewer, which I found, but again, didn't know what to do with.
I think some memory or the hard drive could be bad. Possibly small sectors, so the crashes only happen when those sectors are accessed. I'll add that two weeks ago I did a clean install of Windows 7, so it's not the operating system.

MacBook Pro 13-inch 2012 Yosemite - Random Crashes and restarts
Good afternoon,
My Macbook Pro 2012 running Yosemite randomly crashes and restarts itself with no pattern or discernible cause. It has previously gone into the Apple Store several times for fault finding and come back with nothing that they could find.
Attached to the MacBook are a large monitor and a Evoluent upright USB mouse.
I typically run LibreOffice, iwork numbers and Adobe Reader, in addition to emails, calendar and safari
MacBook Specs:
- Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
- 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
- 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

Why does elements 13 crash and freeze while starting up while using windows 8.1
Have had problems with crashes and freezing up with both elements 12 and now elements 13. Thinking there are problems with Windows 8.1 and adobe premiere elements. Can anyone shed any light on this issue?
Perhaps you also need to reset the preferences file for your both PSE12 and PSE13. The suggested method for earlier versions (10 and 11) was posted here:

the device needs to be restarted. Occasionally the phone freezes and only recovers after battery removal. I test the app on my Lumia 620.
After some web search, I found references to the same problem by many users/developers of different apps. I'm really frustrated as I've tried many possible solutions with no avail.

Is this a Windows Phone app?
The crash/green screen only manifests itself when I suspend my app and switch to the default camera app (could be any other camera app perhaps). It happens roughly 1 out of 8 times. That's why I posted the suspension and resuming handlers, which I wrote
according to the msdn instructions.
I found
this page with a sample that demonstrates the MediaCapture API for Windows Phone. Some developers have reported problems similar as mine. Has Microsoft dealt with this issue?
I've spent quite a few weeks trying to investigate this problem, without actually knowing if it is my code that needs to be debugged. That's why I'm asking if other developers are facing similar problems.

Edit: It seems that the crash/green screen can appear when suspending/switching to any app (regardless if it uses the camera or not). Also, all works fine when the app is running on the debugger. -
Computer randomly crashing and restarting.
I recently upgraded my 2010 Macbook Pro to Mountain Lion OSX. Ever since I upgraded my computer has been randomly crashing and restarting itself. I have looked online for many solutions. I have tried editing settings in system prefereneces, a hard drive repair, a fresh instal of the operating system, and even bringing the laptop into a local apple store. They did some diagnostic checks and a hard drive repair and sent me on my way. Even after all this it is still randomly crashing and restarting itself.
The issue most often happens after being in sleep mode for a little while, atlhough it still occurs randomly throughout the day.I will bring it out of sleep mode and it will restart itself in the next minute or so.
I copied a crash report since I have seen many people posting them here. I hope that you guys can help me identify the problem and fix it. I need to use this computer for school and I have many urgent projects coming up. I am covered under apple care, so a part replacement is not an issue. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. The routine hardware diagnostics used by service providers may not detect the fault. There is a specific test for this issue.
Print the first page of the panic report, and the support page linked above, and bring them with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You may be able to stop the panics by disabling automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saver preference pane, but that's not a solution.
Most likely, the logic board will be replaced. Sometimes the replacement is also defective, so be prepared for that possibility. -
Ever since upgrading to SL, I have suffered frequent crashes and freezes which eventually bring the whole system down, and I have to Restart. Our IT guys (thanks Paul O'Connor) came up with a solution that reliably works for me. It possibly may have nothing to do with problems other people are experiencing, but I thought I'd share it with everyone, because it has been such an effective solution for me.
1. When first logging on, open Terminal (found in Applications>Utilities).
2. Type: 'sudo launchctl' and enter an admin password at the prompt.
3. Leave the terminal window open where you can get at it when needed.
4. When an application freezes or the Mac starts to behave badly, go to the Terminal window and type:
'stop com.apple.DirectoryServices' <return>
then
'start com.apple.DirectoryServices' <return>
For me, this brings my frozen apps magically back to life.

Julian BlowSo what do if I do if terminal stopped working ever since I installed Snow Leopard? Also, in root mode, I am not even allowed to use the sudo command since it says both root and my main account are not in the sudoers file.
Looking at these threads on "Using Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard", almost none are about using features in the OS. They are all about how SL screwed up their computer and apps. Apple should be deeply concerned. -
New to Apple TV - do they all crash and freeze like this?
I have had mine for about 10 days. I have had it freeze (and do the diagnostics/restart) about 15 times.
I am starting to get the hang of it. It seems to hate a bunch of my videos (encoded home movies mostly - used Handbrake and VisualHub's Apple TV setting). I can get it to crash 'on demand' on a few videos.
What gives with the crashing? Can't it just choke on a video and refuse to play? Many times the crashing does not seem to be specific to a video though.
I have tried the diagnostics - it reported that it was fine. I tried the system restore .. still having trouble. I am thinking if I restore it again I should stick to the first firmware (ie: not update). Might that help?
Things are working better with the sync'ing now that I know that iTunes must be open - and I disabled the Windows 7 firewall rather than just poking the hole for the port Apple was requesting.
Anyway - I am really disappointed. The iPhone remote is great, I love having my iTunes library in sync - but lack of 1080p and these crashes are driving my family crazy. I am probably gonna return it, but hoping for some ideas...do they all crash and freeze like this?

iTunes has the ability to convert movies to the proper format. So does Quicktime Pro. For the record, though, I have converted a number of videos using the Mac version of Handbrake and have had no issues what-so-ever playing those files.

My safari just started crashing and coming up with an error that says CrystalDVDTo.png forced Safari to quit unexpectedly. I am not sure what to do or even what this is. I have done various searches for this plug-in but cannot come up with much. I went to Help>Installed Plug-ins and nothing appeared. What can I do?

Crashes and Freezes - too many to count in the last 48 hours
I generally Love Premiere and the whole CC suite. But this week the program continually freezes and just stops functioning. I've restarted both the program and my computer at least 20 times in the last 48 hours... you can how this is impacting my time and deliverable... which is due today BTW. I've edited a ton of projects in premiere but lately it seems to be crashing and freezing ALOT. I'm a professional and my demands are professional. Its when my tools start to let me down that I become disappointed and discouraged.
My question is WHY?
I would think that by now Premiere would be rock solid. Why is it not?I *think* I found one of the issues... Red Giant Universe plugins seem to freeze up the system. So I yanked them off all my timelines and the freezing seemed to stop.
I also had strange issues with Red Epic footage and I believe the culprit for those was the Red Gamma 4 setting. Not scientific by any means but... -
Windows 8.1 crashes and freezes
I am running Windows 8.1 on Samsung series 5 ultrabook equipped with:
- AMD A4-4355M processor
- AMD Radeon HD 7400G (integrated graphics)
Recently I have used samsung recovery tool and got my laptop to initial state(from the day of the first turn on), with the first start after recovering multiple actualizations were automatically downloaded and installed and everything was running smoothly
for a week or so. Problems occurred two days ago, when for no apparent reason my computer was crashing and freezing displaying wide vertical stripes of the colour that was dominating on the screen at the moment of crashing. Those crushes were occurring 3 to
5 minutes after turning on the computer. I have managed to download and install newest recommended graphic drivers, however it hasn't helped at all.
In my desperation I have recovered system one more time yesterday, during recovering process (lasting 20min) everything was ok, and after turning on the system everything is working UNTIL I open IE, then the same problem instantly occurres.Hi Gbonaert,

My phone randomly crashed and it won't turn back on. Why?
My iPhone 4 is running on 4.2 software, I believe. It just randomly crashed and after about 30 minutes it hasn't responded. I've had this happen twice before, the first time, I ultimately had to get a new phone. The previous time, it just came back to normal after 10 minutes. What do I do now?

Way how IPAD 2 users are treated, served and issues solved shows clearly how they just care of new purchases. All crashes, slowness, battery consumption, extremely bad user experience with slow and jamming UI etc... Anyway this is over now with me as I'm moving out from IPAD / IOS due this experience. Ride was a good but now its over as trust is totally destroyed by Apple.

Software crashing and freezing
Photography software 'Capture one' keeps crashing and freezing and is incredibly slow at processing images (most of the time it doesn't even process them).
I have updated my OS and done all manner of system diagnosis which all came back clear. I also updated the software to my appropriate OS.
The software company ran out of ideas to help me and suggested it might be damaged memory on my iMac.
Even though I have enough space on my existing memory chips I bought brand new and larger memory, but the problem persists.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks,Is it just the one program? If so I'd suspect something other than bad memory. If it is just the one program I'd think more along the lines of software incompatibility. Have you tried creating a new account, logging out of your normal account and logging into the new account to run the software? This is a typical Mac troubleshooting technique so you may have already tried it but if not, do so.

Yes, it always hang and crash different applications. Often helps anly restart the phone. Often when I run the application displays the white console window, running with words and numbers and have to restart the phone

Create an mp4 from mov without changing the dimensions
I am working on a project in InDesign that needs to output to DPS. I take screen capture movies which are saved in the default mov format. These movies are 700 px x 400 px. That can't change. I need to convert the mov to an mp4 to add to ID for DPS.
