4S screen & apple logo flashing, cannot turn off phone to restart
4S apple logo and entire screen flashing
cannot turn phone off holding home and lock button
sometimes a horizontal line appears across the screen as well
(this happened as i tried to open an email link to linkedin)
please advise
plug the phone into laptop or pc with iTunes open, Hold home and top power button, until the logo vanishes, then let go of the power button keeping hold of the home button at the bottom, it will then ask to connect to iTunes, as u have it open an attached to the computer u can click the pop up an restore the phone!!

when i plug in my ipod touch (8gb, 3rd generation) it doesn't turn on and the apple logo flashes on and off. before this it wouldn't turn on unless it was plugged in.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

When i switch my iphone on the apple logo flashes on then off
when i switch my iphone3 on the apple logo flashes on then off.
Try leaving it on a charger? Might be low battery life.
Try a hard reset holding the Home button and sleep/wake button ( The circle button, and button on top) -

IPhone 6 plus stuck with apple logo, won't turn off!
I got my new iPhone 6 plus today. I set it up as a new phone I couldn't restore from backup as I needed iOS 8.1 to restore the backup of my 5s.
So after upgrading to 8.1 I reset my 6 plus to restore the backup and now its stuck on the apple logo.
I can't turn it off to get it into recovery mode, I've tried holding the home and power buttons, the device appears to restart, after a few minutes it flashes on a red screen for a split second then its back to the apple logo. I've restarted multiple times and same thing keeps happening.
iTunes won't recognise the device so I'm really at a loss to what I can do from here. Can't get into my local Apple genius bar until Wednesday and I'd really like it sorted before that.
Thanks for any help you guys can give.Hi there thatgurlwho,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below if your device isn't booting past the Apple Logo.

I've tried the methods I've seen on youtube and other iphone tech help sites but I am still having the same problem. Today while updating to IOS 7 my iphone 4 battery died and I didnt have a charger, now that I am home an I put in on the charger I notice the apple logo just flashes on and off. I've tried to restores using the DFU mode with the home and power button but that only seem to stop the logo from flashing and even then the iphone still isnt recognised by the pc to restore, Is there any other way i can go about fixing this problem!!!!
You can try the steps recommended in the User Guide. If they don't work bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

When turning on i get apple logo then it turns off
my computer unexpectedly shut down, then when I reboot, i get the apple logo for a few seconds, then it shuts off
power fault or system fault.
reset SMC, if the same contact Apple for in shop diagnostic and appt for same, and possible repair.
SMC reset
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC. -
Apple logo flashes after powering off
I just opened my ipad last night and charged it. This morning I completed the setup and after I was finished, I pressed the sleep button. It immediately gave me the red slidder to power it off so I slide the slider and after it powered off, the apple logo started to appear on the screen. It would stay on for 3-4 seconds and then go off only to repeat again. Only if I pressed the sleep button again, would it stop. Is this normal?
This is not normal. If this continues, you may want to make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store.

IPod will not start or reset, plugging in makes apple logo flash on and off
My friend's iPod nano 3G won't turn on. In fact it won't do anything - I can't even reset it. When plugged it, it flashes the apple logo every 1.7 - 1.8 seconds. Suggestions?
I had the exact same problem about 10 minutes ago. I was freaking out because I'm going on vacation soon and I was getting all worked up because none of my three power sources were charging it and it wasn't even turning on at all.
I called Support and the automated phone person gave me these steps:
1. Plug the iPod into the computer
2. Set it down on a flat surface
3. Take index fingers and hold menu and center button for about 5 seconds (it actually took me 20 seconds)
It then connected to the computer and turned on. I don't know why trying to reset it normally didn't work but try this and I hope it helps!! -
After a power outage, iPod now displays Apple Logo and wont turn off
I had my iPod connected to my PC (not on iTunes or Syncing), and when the power went out I unplugged my iPod from the PC and it now displays the apple logo without backlight, then with backlight. I tried resetting, but it only repeats the pattern.
I'm sorry to hear about your ipod. you could try restoring it.

I hope you still have all your music on the computer. restoring the ipod deletes every thing off the ipod. -
