Has anyone expericed this problem where the sim card is locked after restart of iphone 4S.
I had to re-enter sim card PIN to unlock it....

You can fix that by removing the PIN from your SIM card...

That doesn't lock the SIM card, it just locks you out of the device.
If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

  • Iphone 4 keeps saying Telstra Sim Card locked once in 24 hours

During a 24 hour period at least once a day I am getting Sim Card locked.
    Carrier is Telstra.
Seems to be getting worse (2 or 3 times) and happens when you can least afford it.
I Power off and unlock and it comes good for a non repetative period.

Took IPhone to Apple Store and was replaced within a few minutes.

  • IPad sim card locked and I can't unlock my own device after I had to restore it to factory settings, due to technical issues.

I recently restored my iPad to its factory settings, and upon restart the iPad sim card was locked and the device was asking for a PUK code. I have no idea what to do next. Can someone please help me? I've had my iPad for over 3 years now, and I am lost! I am sure I can figure this out without having to call any service provider, because the iPad should work on just wifi alone, I never had it set up for 3G even though it is an available option on my device.
Thank you to anyone who can help!

All you can do is connect the iPod to a computer and try to get the music off using a third-party program like the free iFunBox. However, if the iPod's screen says disable or when you connect the iPod to a computer with iTunes it asks for the passcode to be entered on the iPod and you can't do that you will not be able to get anything off the iPod unless a data recovery company can do that.

  • Does anyone have "No sim card" message after upgrading to iOS 7.0.2 on an iPhone 4 ?

    Hello,
I've upgraded my iPhone 4 (8 GB model - GSM) to the new iOS 7.0.2 version yesterday evening and strangely enough he restarted fine, but with the "no SIM card" message. After having pulled out and put back in the micro SIM card several times without success, I've restored the iPhone completely to the 7.0.2 update, but the problem still lasted.
I've personally solved the issue by downloading the original 7.0.0 IPSW file and forcing iTunes to restore it: push on Option/Command key while clicking on the restore button in iTunes after putting the iPhone in DFU mode by pressing the Home button when powering on . After the restore everything works fine again and I had just to unlock my Sim Card the regular way in order to activate.
Therefore I'm wondering if anyone else has also encountered this problem and if someone could explain me the origin of this issue.
I'm living in Belgium (Europe) and using Belgacom Proximus as carrier.

  • IPhone doesn't recognize sim card anymore after the update

The update completely borked my phone. I bought it in Beijing, China. Made sure it was unlocked (from an official apple store) and they told me it was. Worked fine with my Swedish sim card, went back to China after a few months and it worked fine with my Chinese sim card. Got a popup today from itunes telling me that there's an upgrade so I upgraded it. Now it tells me it doesn't support my sim card, I've tried recovering it with DFU/DUF (cant remember the name) but it didn't help. This really blows, if I've lost all of my phone numbers etc now because of this bleep I'm going to be furious.
    Any tips? Ideas?

    Okay, here comes an update.
I went to the store where I bought my iPhone and I told them about my problem. Here's where it starts to get funny.
Apparantly they had imported my iPhone from USA and they even jailbroke it. (I had NO IDEA)
With other words, the reason as to why the phone was unlocked was because they jailbroke it. Something they never told me. So naturally when I updated my phone in iTunes (not knowing it was jailbroken), the phone got locked.
Pretty ****** huh? An official reseller of apple products actually jailbreak their products and then sell them to people who simply don't know any better.
So I've wasted around $600 for nothing. They KNEW it would get locked, they KNEW that what they were doing was illegal and still they did it.
    This is ridiculous.
Edit: I also forgot to mention, they pretty much just told me "nothing we can do about it".

  • There is no SIM card installed after IOS update on 3GS

    Hey!
I just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5. All went well, then at the end, it asks me a few set ups (like language, Location, and WiFi settings).
After that, it attempts to activate, and fails, giving me the following error in iTunes: "There is no SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate."
Problem is, there IS a SIM card in the phone, I tried taking it out, and putting it back in, tried with another SIM, tried the SIM in another phone, worked fine, just not the iPhone!
    I would appreciate any help!
Also, the phone was Jailbroken before, and the SIM worked fine. Just not now, when it tries to activate.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO GO BACK TO THE BEST PREVIOUS UPDATE OF IOS4. THAT"S ALL I EXPECT NOW!

    @wendy191,
Have you jailbroken your phone before?
If you have, I don't see any way you could go back to IOS4 (4.3.3 or 4.3.5) (However, experts might be able to help you)
When you jailbreak you iPhone you update your baseband to iPad's Baseband i.e. 6.50 (something like that) & once that happens there's no going back (at least a legitimate way) unless you do what this guy says.

Watch this video on youtube. Listen to what he says & you can surely get through the activation.

  • SIM card locks when I connect to my computer

    Hi,
For some reason, my iphone's SIM card regularly locks when I connect to my MacBook Pro.
This means...without me always having time to see it, that my phone is basically out of use when I think it is charging or synching. Quite annoying, is there anything I should do about this?
I called my telephone carrier and they said they'd never heard of this problem that

Two things you can check that may be causing this: 1. Settings>Phone>Sim Pin do you have a sim pin enabled? 2. Some carriers require a PUK lock on all their sims, in the US you can get instructions on how to unlock the sim by using the PUK code online in your account info. I'm guessing that your sim either has a sim pin enabled or a PUK lock. If the latter, your carrier will need to supply the PUK code. Or, get a new sim.

  • Lumia 1020 SIM card error after WP8.1 update

I updated my wife's Lumia 1020 to WP8.1. Ever since there has been random SIM card errors. The phone just drops the network while it's idle (not during the phone calls) and gives an error message "SIM card error".
Anybody who has experienced the similar thing after installing WP8.1 update???
If there's someone from Nokia/Microsoft support team reading this: what should be done in order to get rid of this aforementioned thing?

Nope, it's not a hardware issue.
The cause, yes. However, that firmware update might have – a guess – broken the hardware forever. Again, it could just be coincidence. I am not able to rule that out from the distance. You have two options: Wait for a firmware patch (which might do a lot of magic and repairs hardware) – or go for Nokia Care Centre.
    Sensonic wrote:
Taking the phone to the Nokia Care Center and replacing the mother (main) board is not (IMO) a reasonable cure for this problem.
The first step of bug fixing, is getting aware of the bug. Nokia Support Discussions are designed in such a crazy way, that this step might not have taken by this thread. I am just an end-user like you, but there are very different statements whether this board is monitored by internal support.
By the way, the next step is to reproduce this bug – for this, Nokia requires a faulty unit, normally. Therefore, I recommend to go for the Nokia Care Centre option – because waiting – until your warranty might be gone – might not be a good alternative.
Or stated differently: Sit and wait might end in catastrophe in this case.

To double-check, we have Nokia Care Centre.

  • German simyo SIM card "locked sim" in iphone 4

I'm moving to Germany for a while and I bought a German SIM card to save on call charges. It's a Simyo SIM card.
I had it delivered to my UK address and put it in my iphone 4 (unlocked) but when it powered up it says " locked sim" and asks for a passcode (only 3 attempts) does anyone know why this is? It's been fine on all UK providers, and I would like to sort it out before I go I 2 days time!
    HELP PLEASE!!
    Gaz

Hi, I tried to but it's email only and they are not responding, I also emailed the seller I bought it from and again no response. I'm hoping its just because its locked outside of Germany as most cards are and that when I get there it will decide to work.

  • Z10 MEP0 - Sim Card Locked

    Hi all,
I have a very simple problem but this seems not to be documented
I have a Blackberry Z10 with my french carrier Orange
I have received from them a network unlock code (an official one)
I have tried this code 10 times and now my device run correctly but refuse to unlock the network
I have introduce the original SIM card but it do not want to unlock the net work. I can't use my phone, even with my Orange SIM card.
"One or more of your network codes is blocked. This preveting your device from using the Mobile Network. Please contact your service provider"
When I contact my service provider 'Orange FR" they do not understand and ask me to contact Blackberry
    What can I do ?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

After the ten attempts have been used, you only a few choices to unlock the device.
There are three routes, and only three, to achieve this.
    * Purchase a MEP unlock code from a MEP unlocking vendor on the internet. Be wise and make sure you purchase from one with a good reputation and with good reviews and feedback.
    * IF your device is in warranty, contact your service provider technical support. Tell them you have this issue which needs to be escalated to RIM level customer support. I'll warn you that most carrier technical support people will first assume and think you are referring to a device security unlock, and you will need to convince them otherwise and explain clearly what you need. THEY will not be able to help you because the carriers themselves cannot unlock a device which has had the MEP code attempts depleted, and should (and you will need to ask) to have the case escalated to RIM level tech support.
    * If your device is out of warranty, contact RIM direct. See the Contact Us information from the website: http://ca.blackberry.com/contact/ The options you want to select to speak to BlackBerry Customer Care are 3 (for inquiries, orders, billing, e-RMA etc) then 5 (e-RMA and Out of Warranty).
    Make sense? Good luck.

  • Sim card locks since upgrading to 1.1.3

since i upgraded firmware to 1.1.3 iPhone locks sim card if no connection 2 provider. Could it be an issue of 1.1.3?

    Matthias Stoll,
Locked SIM indicates either a SIM Pin has been set. When a SIM PIN is set, the SIM card will lock and require the PIN to use cell services.
This is a good feature for some situations, but it sounds like it doesn't meet your needs. I would recommend consider disabling the SIM PIN in your situation. Go to Settings -> Phone -> SIM PIN, and turn off the SIM PIN.
If you didn't change the SIM PIN the default SIM PIN varies by carrier and is listed in this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306230
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.
