4S touch screen locked up

I have a 4S.  Suddenly the touch screen does not respond.  I can't even use the slider to turn off the phone.  I can access apps using Siri (that's how I got here).  Once in the app, the touch screen works.  I can't turn the phone off & reboot because Siri cannot turn off the phone.  Has anyone encountered this problem?  Help!

  • Nokia C3-01 get hanged with Touch screen lock

I have been using Nokia c3-01 for the past few months and the firmware is uptodate.(V 7.51) Some time after a call has been disconnected the touchscreen lock will be activated and it will not get unlocked.(The Touch Screen will not respond). The phone has to be restarted by removing and reinserting the battery. Hope this complaint would be solved in the next software update.
Any user facing this problem, please report
    Thank You

    Hi Almach89,
    Welcome to Nokia discussions board!
We are sorry for the inconvenience. I advise yout to try and back up your data with Nokia Suite. If you do not have it installed on your PC yet, you may do so with this link.
Then connect your device to it and go to Tools > Back up. Also go to Synchronise > Synchronise now > All. Once the sync is completed, check the different tabs to see if the data has been correctly synced. If this is successful, your data will now be safe (please use your own judgement).
You may update your device from the updates tab to see if that fixes the screen issue.
Alternatively, please take your device to your nearest Nokia Care Point or call your Local Careline, please find the details via this link.
Feel free to post any other questions you may have.

  • IPod Touch screen lock

I have a ipod touch that is on the home screen that reads ipod is disabled try again in 21265904 minutes. I cant reset it or even get it to do anything when I plug it into my computer. Any help with this issue would be great

This is probably the result of entering the passcode incorrectly a number of times.
You can reset the counter by syncing (not just connecting) it with your iTunes library. This must be the library that you primarily sync with or the one that you initially used to setup your iPod touch.
You will still need to enter the correct passcode to actually access your device, but the disabled counter will be reset so that you can try again right away.
If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the iPod, which will erase all music and data.

  • Touch screen locks/freezes

I have just purchased a i touch and the screen locks and i have to use back button or even the power off to gain control again, some times the screen freezes for a few seconds and then works, i have checked for updates (all good). Also can you re-calibrate the touch screen.

    Hi MR D,
Try the general tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1575#faq6
You can also try restoring the iPod as shown here:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If the issue persists after trying the tips in the first article and restoring the iPod, request repair online, make a reservation to have a Genius at a local Apple retail store take a look at it or call AppleCare.

  • Ipod touch screen locked.

On the upper line of my screen there is a lock surrounded by an arrow in a circle. It doesn't allow the scren to flip when in albums or movies or anything.

You currently have your iTouch locked in portrait orientation. All you have to do is unlock it. Read here:

  • Samsung Rogue Touch Screen Lockup

Help!!! Daughter's Rogue touch screen locked up.  She is unable to text or make calls.  The only way she is able to receive calls is when she opens up the slider.  Is there some hardware glitch?  Please advise.
    Thank you.

Try removing the battery with the phone on. After a minute or so, reinsert the battery and restart the phone.
If that doesn't work, you can take the phone to s store with a tech that can troubleshoot for you.

  • Touch screen stopped working. Is there anyway to force a full backup of the iPhone without typing in my passcode lock or is there anyway to force it to connect to a WiFi network so the phone can backup to iCloud??

Hello all, I could use some help with my iPhone 4, I hope this is the best place to ask!
    The Problem:
I want to do a full backup of my iphone to either itunes or to icloud. Unfortunately the iphone got wet and isn’t working properly. The phone turns on and still works, but the touch screen no longer works. I have a passcode lock on the phone so iTunes will not allow me to backup it up until I type in the passcode (which I cannot physically do). WiFi had been turned off before it got wet so it won’t connect to any known WiFi networks either to backup automatically to iCloud.
    What happened:
I had been travelling for 6 months and went tubing on a river with my iphone in a dry bag. Unfortunately the dry bag failed and filled with water ruining my iphone.
    What I’d like to do:
It’s an old phone and I was planning on buying a new iPhone anyway. I would love to do a full backup to either iCloud or to my computer so when I get a new iPhone I don’t lose anything. I’ve already connected it to my PC and downloaded all the photos and videos off the phone so at least I haven’t lost that, but I would like to be able to recover all the text messages, WhatsApp messages and notes I had created during my 6 months of travel.
The last time it was backed up to my pc or to icloud was in April, so there are 6 months worth of very meaningful data I would love to keep to remind me of my travels!
Is there anyway to force a full backup of the iPhone without typing in my passcode lock or is there anyway to force it to connect to a WiFi network so the phone can backup to iCloud??
iTunes recognizes the phone just now and I tried upgrading the phone to iOS7 in the hopes that it would first backup and then upgrade. Unfortunately all that happened is the phone upgraded to iOS7, but it didn’t backup to iTunes. Now the phone is stuck at the iOS7 welcome screen and I can’t do anything else with it.
Any ideas or tips would be welcome!
NOTE: This is NOT a jailbroken iPhone.

If there is no other way around this, is there anyway to completely wipe the phone then??
The Apple store agreed to give me a new iPhone 4 as a warranty replacement for $150 (I travel a lot and I have a factory unlocked phone, so this is still worth it for me).  But before I trade it in, I would like to make sure all my data is backed up on the device first.
When I try and restore the phone now on iTunes, it says I have to turn off Find My iPhone on the phone first before I can restore it.  Now since I can't use the screen I can't really do that.
So how do I completely wipe the iPhone???
    Thanks!

  • Can you lock touch screen when watching videos!??

Can you lock the screen so it doesn't become a touch screen when watching videos!??
Just got new ipod (7th gen) and this driving me crazy that I think I'm going to continue to use my older one unless there is a solution out there. I watch tv shows while commuting and while walking here or there I have to 'palm' the ipod or walk with it at my side, and the problem is that since the touch screen is sooooo sensitive I keep fwding/rewinding/swiping the screen to something else, and then to get back to that part in the video is a pain because unlike the older ipod you can just fwd a few secs, this one jumps minutes because it's so sensitive. PLEASE tell me there's a way to lock it from accidently touching it!

No - there is no such switch on the iPad - the switches control volume, muting, screen rotation, and the home button itself.
You could place it behind a screen of some sort so touching the outer screen won't affect the iPad screen - I've seen ads for 'presentation kiosk' type devices for the iPad that allow this, although I'm not sure how practical they would be in the backseat of a car.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • Touch screen doesn't work after resetting the phone. Could the screen be locked?

After following the previous  touch screen not working message, I reset the phone but still doesn't work.  Could there be a screen lock?  Or any other way for the touch screen to work?

        Hi there Angelicness3011!
The touch screen responding correctly is pretty important for you to even use your phone! I'm sorry to learn you've been having issues with it. Let's review some options together!
You mentioned you reset the phone. Does this mean you removed the battery & put it back in? Or does this mean you able to complete an actual Hard Reset?
Instructions on a Hard Reset can be found here: http://bit.ly/Q00sJ9
Your information is generally backed up to Google or Backup Assistant and your SD Card. If possible, please sign in to double check.
If you're unable to hard reset and removing the battery doesn't resolve the concerns we may have to look in to replacement. Does your phone have any physical or liquid damage? How long have you had your phone? Do you have insurance?
I look forward to your responses!

  • My Ipod touch (3rd. gen) is locked and the touch screen isnt working and it only turns on when charged! help!, My Ipod touch (3rd. gen) is locked and the touch screen isnt working and it only turns on when charged! help!

My Ipod touch isnt working ... i think its locked but the touch screen now doesnt work? Help!

Connect the iPod to your computer and charge it for at least an hour and then try to restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer.  If it asks for an passcode and you do not know it place the iPod in recovery mode to bypass the the passcode.  For recovery mode see:

i did re-installing the software using iTunes, reset the network settings restarting the phone. Nothing solves my problem.
wifi was working with older software versions. i think there should be a problem with 8.1.1.

You cant unlock your phone unless you put in your password. It may be possible that the apple store could do something about it.
