  • Ipad 4th gen black screen

Couple weeks ago i broke my ipad's screen, so i bought a new one and it didnt work, i thought its the LCD so i bought the LCD also and still not wroking but it makes a sound then you plug in and stuff.
Also itunes recognies it, and now then i put it on charge it makes a sound/noise every 5 seconds, no idea what it is , i saw for a couple seconds the screen went on but then it went off again
Can anyone reccomend what to do?
    Thankyou

Apple would have replaced the iPad for a reduced cost under the Out of Warranty replacement plan, but now that you have attempted to repair it yourself, they won't touch it. I would have attempted a repair on an older device, but not an iPad 4.
In any case, it sounds like the fall damaged more than just the screen. Perhaps more of the internals were damaged as well.

  • My ipad 4th gen touch screen is not working in one area

I had a screen replacement and now the Ipad 4th gen touch screen is not working in one area ( a strip across the middle). We tried 3 different touch screens with digitizer...any ideas?

Since Apple doesn't replace screens, they replace the iPad, I presume you had your screen replaced by an unauthorized service provider or perhaps you replaced it yourself. That voids the warranty and the ability to get assistance from Apple. If someone else replaced your screen take it back to them and demand the correct the problem.

  • I replaced my 4th gen ipod screen and digitizer and my screen wont turn on? what can I do?

I replaced my 4th gen ipod screen and digitizer and now my ipod wont turn on. what can i do?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem. Likely your did something wrong or have a loose connect or broken cable

  • How much will it cost for iPad 4th gen. Screen replacement

How much it will cost for iPad 4th gen. Screen replacement?

It will cost you approximately US$299.00
Apple will replace the entire iPad; they don't repair.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. However, they may refuse to even look at tit since you worked on the iPod yourself. It could be that you broke a ribbon cable of did some other damage when replacing the screen, the screen was defective or there was other damage besides the screen, like the logic board.

  • IPod 4th gen top screen portion blots out

I have a 4th gen iPod touch which has it's top portion screen near the black portion when pressed gives out a blot on the pressed portion and disappears. I reported it to the authorizes premium apple reseller they came back and said it is normal. It was still under warranty when I I reported it. I was really not happy because how can this be normal when the other three edges does not have issue and my friends who have this type does not have this issue also. Please help thanks if I can report this back to apple headquarters.

  • IPod touch 4th gen no screen

So this guy is trying to sell me a 4th gen itouch without a screen for cheap. How much would it cost to get a brand new screen if everythin else works, and i went to my local apple store?

I doubt Apple will do anything since App exchanges  iPod for a refurbished one but says:
If Apple determines that an iPod is not repairable, for example, if it has failed due catastrophic damage or the iPod has been disassembled into multiple pieces, then Out-of-Warranty Service is not available and the iPod will be returned. Please see Apple's Repair Terms And Conditions for further details.

  • IPod 4th gen's screen was glitching, now the screen is half white, but still works.

Hello everybody! I couldn't find the solution to my problem anywhere on Google so here I am and I really, really hope you guys can help me.
My iPod 4th gen has been acting up lately. Last night, the screen kept flickering and glitching. This happened the first week I got my iPod, but it stopped after a bit and it never happened again until now. I thought this glitching would stop after a bit, but this morning, I still found my iPod in the same state (if not, worse).
I think the problem is yesterday I plugged my iPod into my laptop and none of the USB ports could pick up my iPod so I plugged it into my ancient computer to see if there was something wrong with my cord, but my computer was able to pick up my iPod and so I left it there to charge. I also downloaded the latest version of iTunes onto that computer because the iTunes on that one was really old. After, I plugged it back into my laptop and it worked again. What I'm thinking is that maybe the computer did something faulty to my iPod and messed it up. I think that's what happened the first time also when my brother used my old iPod nano charger (had it for five years) to use it to charge my iTouch.
Anyways, my iPod now has a white screen in the middle and I can't see anything at the bottom, but the first half of the screen is still visible. Also, my iPod still works. I can click on apps, view photos, listen to music perfectly, it's just the screen is all messed up and everything is just super bright.
I've tried resetting it by holding onto the home and the on/off button but it doesn't do anything. I was hoping I wouldn't have to restore my iPod, but it looks like I have to maybe? Do you think I should let my battery completely drain and then plug into my laptop or something? Any suggestions besides dropping by the Apple store to check it?
    Thank you in advance.

I would restore the iPod. First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults.
If still have the problem then you have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod 2nd Gen Black Screen 3/4 battery no reset, no return, help??!!

The other night I was playing Brick, then put the 4Gig-2nd gen Nano in my pocket (with 3/4 battery power still left), then took it out to play again, a half hour later. I got a black screen, no reponse. I tried resetting it based on some of the recommendations in this forum - no good. I got it last Christmas - does it know when it's 11 months old? My son's (2!) 20Gig 2nd-gen iPods also died at around 11 months. I don't have any return options like your other posters.
I bought a battery replacement kit - should I install it?

  • Ipod Touch 5th Gen Black Screen - device inop

My daughter has an Ipod Touch 5th generation she received fro christmas in 2013. Yesterday she came home from school to find the screen black and the device non-responsive. Pressing or hold the power or volume buttons gives us no result. One thing we noticed right away was that the home button appeared not to work. When pressing down and releasing there is no click or apparent movement in the button. I do not know if this is normal, but from my searching it appears not to be. When attached to the computer, Itunes does not recognize the device. It sees no device at all.  This Ipod stays in an Otterbox Defender case at all times.
    My solution attempts:
    1) Charge Ipod to ensure battery is not dead.
    2) Attempting to clean the home button with isopropyl alchol. The ipod was held in an upright position the entire time to facilitate drainage and prevent the alcohol from getting under the screen.
    3) Attach ipod to computer to see if Itunes found device.
    4) Hard reset by holding power button and home button for over 10 seconds.
    Questions:
    1) Is home button supposed to click or move up and down?
    2) Is the black screen/non-response related?
    3) If 2 is correct, how do I go about fixing said button?
    4) What is the warranty on these? I cannot give you more information other that Dec 2013 it was received by daughter and model number on back is A1421.
I have no idea what version of OS it has on it.

With the serial number you can check warranty coverage here.
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
Unless you purchased the optional AppleCare extended warranty the coverage is for one year.
    Try this:
    Turn on without Home/Power Button
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • HT1551 Apple TV 3rd gen black screen

    ATV 3 has black screen
Earlier today, I watched a show on Netfix and later did AirPlay from my MBP.  Ready to watch a show and now have a Black Screen.  Followed instructions to unplug and then plug back in after 5-seconds.  An Apple Logo appears for a few seconds then back to the Black Screen. Try holding down the Menu on the remote and the indicator light goes out then comes back on when I release.  Same with the Select button.  When pressing the Play/Pause button, the indictor on the ATV3 goes out and stays out.  Pressing the select button, the ATV3 indicator comes back on.
Unplugging for > 30-seconds, same systems.
Switching the TV to my S-Video input, I can see what my DVD player and the DVD that is in it.   Yes my TV is back on HDMI2 and that it is the correct port for the Apple TV 3.
    I give up for tonight.
iPad 2, iPhone 4, and MacBook Pro AirPlay are not working with the Apple TV.  I tried them also but what I really want is to watch Netflix.

You may need to grab a micro usb cable and restore in iTunes

  • Apple TV 1st Gen Black Screen

Black screen tried reset, apple logo appears briefly then black screen again....?? ideas , advic much appreciated

Check cables and connections are good.  Try a different TV with HDMI or component input to try and narrow the issue down to the AppleTV, cable or TV.
Could be an AppleTV hardware problem developing but not necessarily.
If you reboot using Menu and down arrow for 6 seconds you can try to run diagnostics but I can't remember many instances when this was helpful.  That menu also allows a restart or factory restore to shipping software (this should be a last resort as if it goes wrong could leave you with an unusable device and if it shipped with very early software a few people have had difficulty with updating again - this menu option also wipes all AppleTV content).
